TV/Movies / Re: Lucy And Nengi Engage In Shouting Match In Big Brother House by BlackSwede(m): 12:03pm On Aug 10, 2020 |
Made4naijaceo: Not necessarily... Ebuka shook tables.... Nengi transfered aggression... And Lucy was the wrong person to spot a fight with... I wouldn't say other female HM's are jealous of Nengi... They probably see her like a maradonna... showing interest in multiple guys and leading them on... Her strategy though. They felt the guys will keep chasing after her and not give other girls a chance.. And to be fair, Ozo caused this when he misinterpreted what "I fancy you" actually meant. Since then she's been on the overdrive... and it may most def work against her. Prince was smart to detangle... She can play her game however she likes... so can everyone else in the house... And the consequences of which they all must accept. 19 Likes |

Agriculture / Re: A Disturbing Story Of How Nigeria Failed This Foreign Investor by BlackSwede(m): 12:06pm On Sep 25, 2015 |
The fact Calvin Burgess wasn't successful doing business in the country, doesn't mean it goes the same for other investors. There are many indigenous and foreign agropreneurs who have achieved success in agriculture without govt fanfare and dependence, and are quietly expanding frontiers in their host communities. Dominion farms never exerted their due diligence on research of their operating environment and expected everything on a platter for a venture they expected to earn billions from. It's just sheer greed and a mistake to bask on the euphoria that they were doing the country a favour, It should be a win-win situation. They should have done a pilot phase by phase market entry or simply partnered with other rice firms as equity investors to have a better leverage of the intricacies in doing business before venturing into the wild. How much more can be said of a company meant to earn and spur development, that take the livelihoods of host communities even in Kenya. Is this fair trade and sustainable development? Literature / Disney World / Triggerfish Looking For African Stories And Animation Concepts by BlackSwede(m): 9:49am On Aug 28, 2015 |
South Africa-based Triggerfish Animation Studios, along with the South African Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and The Walt Disney Company, recently announced the creation of the Triggerfish Story Lab, with the goal of helping to grow the animation industry in continental Africa. Triggerfish will be investing as much as US$3.5 million over three years in the Story Lab, which is designed to give Africa’s top storytellers and filmmakers the chance to develop their ideas alongside Triggerfish’s global network of experts and mentors. Participants in the program will be selected not only on the creative and commercial merits of their concept, but also their track record of production. Their concepts may be developed as episodic TV or as a feature film. The top entries (with a minimum of six) will go before Triggergfish’s panel of experts, which consists of both local and international filmmakers and storytellers, including British animator and director Peter Lord, co-founder of Aardman Animations (Chicken Run) and Hollywood screenwriter Jonathan Roberts (The Lion King), as well as development executives from both Disney and Triggerfish, among others. The selected Story Lab candidates will also participate in a two-week mentoring program with key studio and television executives at Disney’s global headquarters in Burbank, California. “The Story Lab will be a great catalyst for African creativity on the global stage,” Triggerfish CEO Stuart Forrest said. “We look forward to opening up the Triggerfish production platform and our networks to the continent’s top creative talent.” For each phase of the development process, Triggerfish will provide financial backing, workspace, and guidance by internal and international mentors and consultants, as well as a route to market via relationships with Hollywood agency William Morris Endeavor. “We are excited to be supporting Triggerfish on this innovative project,” says Christine Service, senior VP and country manager of The Walt Disney Company Africa. “We believe the Story Lab provides a unique opportunity to discover this continent’s next generation of storytellers.” Triggerfish’s films, Adventures in Zambezia (2012) and Khumba (2013), have been distributed in over 150 countries and dubbed into over 27 languages. Applications for the Triggerfish Story Lab will be accepted from all writing and creative disciplines, not just from experienced film and TV screenwriters. Applicants to the program must be over 21 years of age and either African citizens or permanent residents, and entries must be in English. Entries close August 31, 2015. kakulus94: This is a pure Advance Fee Fraud. Transloading charges? Smh Soon they will come up with Narcotics Clearance, or Naval waterway Security Levy, or just about any useless line to extort more from you. Don't pay anything to them and don't give them the hint u already know. I hope u have notified EFCC duely as they are strategically in alliance with London Metropolitan Police and can trace and locate them with a bait in collaboration with the banks. Under legitimate climes, the Incoterm CIF (Cost Insurance & Freight) mandates the seller to deliver at your named port. You have no business paying anything further or above your commercial invoice. The shipper who is the "seller" and the "carrier" which is the shipping company have a responsibility to deliver to your named port. While your responsibility as the buyer and "consignee" is to clear and take delivery of your cargo when it arrives your named port. They're just trying to rip u off further. I don't know how far you have gone with the investigations but u can learn more from these sites. http://www.met.police.uk/pceu/ http://www.sfo.gov.uk/fraud.aspx http://www.nationalcrimeagency.gov.uk/ http://www.london.gov.uk/priorities/policing-crime https://crimestoppers-uk.org/ |

Culture / Re: Should People Hinge Their Future On Family Inheritance? by BlackSwede(m): 10:41am On Jul 16, 2014 |
No matter how alluring the wealth might be, its better to do something for yourself, have ur own dreams to pursue and build on it. It makes u only wiser, more able to place value and manage an inheritance. What if u don't get an inheritance? What if a bulk of it is willed to support a humanistic cause, and u only get a little fraction? And really... What if u don't live to see the inheritance? Most importantly just do something and don't let time just pass u by. Kudos. |
