There are 3 FRENCH speaking countries surrounding the NE.

The plan is to use a terrorist org to invade Nigeria.. They should also annex the far North We are tired of their of arrogance Please Chad carry your brothers. |

Chad can keep the town and the rest of the far North as Chadian territory We are tired of the far North lust for power When will Benin annex SW so that we can rest RicKyRichards: What a question. Well, GEJ happened. This is really shameful for Nigeria. namfav: and then cameroon can take the bakassi peninsula, this is what has happened to our once great nigeria now the eunuch of africa eldoradoxx: This government has spent 4 trillion naira since 2011 to prosecute war against boko haram. That amount is much more than the total budget of Republic of Chad in any year. Yet Chadian army, not Nigeria that captures our territory from boko haram. Observe again that boko haram fears Cameroon and Niger army more than they fear Nigeria Army. Someone said somewhere that the army of sheep led by a lion should be feared over and above an army of lions led by a sheep. The last represents Nigeria, when you have a Jonathan as commander in chief, our army would surely, but sadly take the posture of a lamb. I believe our army is the best in Africa, we only need a strong commander in chief. Mathematical: We can't fight out the sects, without chopping out the inner force... We don't need 30,000 soldiers ,all we need is the right Leader who his security conscious, stable, and have mental capabilities...with that we can flush out the chaff from the wheat.. Gej lacks such capabilities.. LRNZH: Since Chad is doing the dirty job of fighting Boko Haram now, GEJ should return the $1Billion he recently got for the same job. Or did he pay Chad? He can't eat his cake and have it . Adminisher: They paint you bad because it is easy to do so. You are already bad. Your President is the worst on the continent and you people will not face it. Too painful I guess?. This is an impeachable offence getting foreigners to conquer Nigerian towns. Chai, the generals have finally sold this clueless man. Even three quarters of the PRO will move for his impeachment if this is true and he misadventure wins the role tion which is not likely. How did this man become President of Nigeria?. What were we thinking?. EVarn: hahahaha....you are so naive, there is no such thing as "brotherly love" in politics.every nations fights for its interest,do you think the US would be battling with ISIS if it didnt conform with its national interest?,if ISIS were to be tormenting russia, iran, north korea or afghanistan,do you think the US would have lifted a finger in show of "brotherly love"?.ISIS is a huge threat to the US,therefore they are forced to crush it. BH is an avenue for an impoverished chad to leach unto our newly discovered oil reserves in the north east, the same way cameroon gained control of the bakassi peninninsula in the south east. hardbody: Meanwhile Chad can proceed to take all the oil patches in the NE. That way when the secession hapens the North will remain forever impoverished. Allahu arkbar dammytosh:
CHAD TROOP till 2019. I wonder how people say such and move freely. franugo: Whether approved by nigeria or not, u can come. We just want these bokites 2 stop their incessant killings, if its by their deaths, then so be it! alqaeda: AND TOMORROW OGA WILL SAY HE TOOK IT BACK, BY THE WAY, WHERE IS HE. namfav: how will we get chadians out of nigeria now? |

When loved ones are killed or maimed on a daily basis, your daughters and sisters seized to become sex slaves and your means of livelihood virtually destroyed, aside not having shelter over your head yet you have a president that has neither taken concrete actions, visited nor cordoned with you;even the most laid back can become violent. One should not make excuses for this frustrated youths, but rather it should be a wake up call for anybody that assumes the presidency that the people in the north have reached their limits. kaboninc: Lol.
CBN's mandate is far more important than that. Government itself has a policy for say stimulating growth and development. They can use the CBN to achieve that purpose.
On the flight of dollars...I do not understand you.
But let me say that our local tender is the naira. CBN's mandate is to support it and defend it by any means possible. So we shouldn't even see the dollar here in our economy. Yes CBN has many roles of which one of it is to create policies that encourages economic development/growth resulting to job creation, wealth creation etc So if the CBN had encouraged the financing of industries that do not exist in Nigeria and whose products constitute the largest bulk of our imported goods with the sum of $2billion yearly between 1999-2015=16yrs, by now we would have developed at least a $32billion local industries reducing 1) importation 2) unemployment 3) dollar flight So my friend Look at the bigger picture |

Spent which money? Is it CBN's? Yes its not CBN's money but the CBN can convince the government to take such approach to reduce the flight of dollars due to importation |

omonnakoda: It really is a difficult problem and one that needs visionary leadership but not one whose solution I can pretend to have. THe problem with setting up industries is that governments worldwide are notoriously poor at running them.It would be naive to expect the Nigerian government to run an industry successfully. What are the alternatives to that? I think we need a short term and longer term approach. The long term focussing on human development - entrepreneurship and technology. All we need to do is look at all those businesses Indians and Chinese come to set up and that will give us an idea how far we have to go. Our human development deficit is quite profound generally and much worse when you factor in much of Northern Nigeria. f you look at the traders in Nigeria like Ibos all they do is buy and sell and so their approach to business makes us VERY dependent on imports In fact what they think is missing is an inland port at Onitsha without thinking where the dollars will come from .That is a road to nowhere. On the other hand they make very good shoes in Aba and that should be encouraged What is not so clear is HOW to channel government money into that without raising the usual tribal dust.Look at the SW they produce cocoa but sell it without adding value again that needs to change. In reality the government has earned enough money to make a significant impact on our infrastructure deficit but much of it has been stolen
One thing that government should have done by now is solve the Power problem and that is rPDP has failed and there is no excuse. Just to be clear I am not an APC fan either We need more Dangotes producing those things we consume.Government needs to find a way to force Dangote to crash cement prices and embark on a massive Housing construction scheme. That is one thing to do if they don't know what to do with money I disagree with you on the issue of government not venturing into industrialization My reason being that Government can speed up industrialization with the plan to privatize the industries within 10years especially industries that have not taken root or deep root in our economy eg electronics mechanical chemical etc industries |
Politics › Re: Okonjo-Iweala Responds To Soludo's Attack (Press Release) by BlackTechnology: 6:24pm On Jan 28, 2015 |
cooljude: I agree that we have to develop our industrial capacity but if you look at the big economies, innovation and production came from the people for it to be sustainable. The government should be there to provide assistance inother for those people/individual to thrive. I hope this presidential debate would be issue based but most people had already made up their mind. Yes the people drive the economy but government sometimes has to initiate with the plan to privatize especially industries that have not taken root or deep root in the economy eg electronics, mechanical etc |

kaboninc: Which foreign reserve is to be spent? The forty something billion dollars? If Soludo and Sanusi had spent $2 billion yearly to establish businesses whose products constitute the bulk of our imported goods, the demand for dollars in order to import foreign goods would have declined or remain constant at pre 2007 demand. |
Politics › Re: Okonjo-Iweala Responds To Soludo's Attack (Press Release) by BlackTechnology: 6:10pm On Jan 28, 2015 |
cooljude: i can remember vivdly reading an article where SLS was defending his policy of defending the Naira with Nigerians foriegn reserve. Meaning they've been doing this but with the price of oil falling below the nations bench-mark, it was totally not sustainable. Look at other major oil producing countries like Russia, Venezuela, Nigeria must start to reduce her dependency on oil. The mistake Nigeria made during those years was to completely defend the naira without making provision to spend some of our foreign reserve to finance the establishment of industries whose products we import. If we had done so, the demand for dollar in order to import foreign goods would have declined due to the fact that we now produced them locally. |

Boss13: What will the ordinary Nigerian say? I believe the criticism is just and equitable given the present situation of the economy. Our finance minister cannot tell us all is well and we look around, nothing is actually well. What has she done about unemployment since she was appointed. Is it not a shame. I told her on twitter that she should have ignore Soludo.
Soludo asked basic questions drawing references from publicly available statistics. She went ahead to criticise his person, comparing him to a failure. Is she not also a failure? Has she delivered on the economic promises the administration promised. It is also very funny that they were once colleagues and probably PDP members. Sanusi also criticised and he was also insulted.
We definitely tolerate rubbish Nigerians, we tolerate rubbish Let us tell ourselves the truth. Unemployment is an issue all our economists have no good blueprint on how to solve. I am yet to see a Nigerian economists who has written a comprehensive approach to addressing unemployment issue. My question to you Please list 5 innovative way you can address unemployment if she invites you to help her out. |

kaboninc: How was Sanusi a disaster? Boss13: I disagree with you. Sanusi came up with a robust risk management system and good corporate governance. He introduced 10 years tenure for all MD's so that MD's have a succession plan and without Key Man Risk issues. What benefit will the recapitalisation programme bring when Bank CEO's are eating shareholders funds and even depositors funds. Both were exceptional governors. Now lets see what Emefiele will do with foreign exchange issues we are currently faced with. One major role of CBN is run policies that will encourage economic development/ growth resulting to more jobs , wealth, etc In soludo days, we saw massive job creation in the banking sector But Sanusi era was full of EFCC kind of operations that left the lay man asking if there is difference between CBN and EFCC. At the end of the day, his policies lead to massive job cut in an economy full of unemployed people. |

EmoBoy: Bro, believe me when I tell you that a vast majority of Nigerian youths are useless upstairs. This country has very little hope with the caliber of youths we presently have.
I've had the opportunity of interviewing graduates seeking employment in my organization and I'll honestly state that over 90 percent are dull upstairs. When people say 70 percent of Nigerian graduates are unemployable, some people think its a joke. Just think about it, they say the youth consist about 60-65 percent of the Nigerian population - that's huge. If only half of the 65 percent are sensible, this country will be a better place.
I always tell my friends that a country is as good as the attitudes and behaviors of the majority of people living in it. Nigeria is a useless country because the majority of the people living in it are dumb, ignorant and near useless. You have a point What do you think is the way out.? |
Politics › Re: Okonjo-Iweala Responds To Soludo's Attack (Press Release) by BlackTechnology: 5:49pm On Jan 28, 2015 |
Boss13: God bless you. However, I disagree that SLS did more damage. If Banks CEOs were not selfish, there will be no need for a rigorous risk management system implemented by SLS. There will also be no need for Bank's going under and likewise no need for massive job loss.
Soludo envisaged a system that will not be corrupt and greedy. It is a good policy to ensure that Banks can properly finance projects and not engage in round-tripping to make profit (because that was what Banks were doing then). Sanusi came up with a robust risk management system. Both CBN governors are very intelligent and well grounded professionals and as you can see both are critical about the way our economy is going. However, our darling Havard trained Minister of Finance, rather than take positive criticism goes on an image laundry scheme and white wash projects that people cannot see.
It is only Jonathan's administration that one can neither see what the government is doing but the government is screaming that it is doing something. I just wonder. My dear Sanusi was a disaster Soludo did well even though he failed to thoroughly supervise the banks because he thought they will do the right things without supervision Okonjo is trying even though her efforts are not felt due to the large scale of the problem. |
