blackCITIZEN: We (citizens) are the ones causing our own problems. Dollar keeps rising everyday against naira, strikes here and there, killing of innocent citizens now and then, teachers and lecturers owed, public funds embezzled etc. Over 13,000 innocent citizens of our dear Nation have been killed and their local govt taken by insurgents, leaving them homeless. The other day, i watched a video on youtube where displaced victims of boko haram were abandoned and no one cares for them. They used cement bags to construct where they sheltered themselves, drinking from very bad water from a rural stream around there while their govt raise N21B for reelection. These people have no good life, dreams killed, their properties and loved ones gone. It is very obvious that govt doesn't even care for their welfare despite all they have lost. They get support from churches that help them with little food items and they manage like refugees in their own country. What will be their fate if allowed to be in this condition for another 4yrs? And instead of striving to proffer solution, the govt has resorted to blaming opposition party and giving excuses on why they've not been able to tackle insurgency/insecurity (excuses on why they have failed). Billions of dollars have vanished to where nobody can find them (who is even talking about $20B dollars), 56soldiers sentenced to death for not facing boko haram with inadequate ammunition, not to mention hundreds of them killed by the insurgents. What is happening (O gini n'eme)? Foreign reserve is nothing to write home about, and during rally their manifesto becomes documentary on a coup carried out in 1983 against a corrupt govt, he has no certificate, he cannot remember his phone number, he will die in office etc(In this 21st century) OMG. They know that about 70% of the electorates are not educated and they hide the truth from them. Sometimes i wonder who is more desperate for this power; if you perform very well you don't need religious sentiments and character assassination to win the heart of your people. They don't want us to vote for Muslims but they still campaign in Muslim states for their votes(who is fooling who actually). When will Nigerians forget about religious and ethnicity sentiments and focus on facts without bias on evaluation of performance. Govt is about favorable policies, poverty alleviation, providing security and sustaining the economy of the Nation, lets judge with terms like GDP, return on investment, inflation rate, foreign reserve, oil boom, deficit, value-added, unemployment/employment rate, security/insecurity, integrity and transparency in handling public funds and not to blame people for ineffective performance. "I now see the reason why some reasonable people are worried" Don't be fooled forever. "Only CHANGE can awaken us from the nightmare called history, for without CHANGE everything remains the same.." Think about tens of thousands of dead and displaced innocent citizens, our current situation and generation to come We have our golden chance once again If you have a million votes, wouldn't you invest it in CHANGE? The choice is yours Thank you God bless Nigeria Trash The quantity of ammunitions captured by BH at Baga were they made of stones Guy go back to school to eradicate your illiteracy |

Buhari may not solve all of Nigeria's problems, but he has a lot to offer.

hermesprogidy: Same thing I have been saying to my friends and any other person who croons about jonathan's so called achievement. The most nauseating is the so-called agricultural revolution. For all the so-called revolution, agriculture contributes only 33% to our GDP as against 37% in 2008. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for food products are at an all time high. I don't know where the CBN gets their figures from. They keep telling us inflation is reducing and it's a single digit figure (8.4%) whilst in reality, inflation is at a double digit figure. Don't even get me started on the minimalist Youwin crap and the Surep nonsense that is targeted at only 1% of the employable population (the rest goes into their private pockets, because such programs are hard to audit)
Jonathan's achievement is only on paper and he can't do better than this, hence he should step aside. The exciting thing about Buhari, is not only his persona, but the people he has surrounded himself with. Nigerians are not expecting an El dorado any time soon, but they need someone who can apply the brakes to this vehicle called Nigeria and steer it off the precipice it is heading to. Buhari is that person! We need Buhari for just one term to provide the foundation of a new mentality for government officials and Nigerians at large (corruption is stealing and you will be punished if caught, frugality and effectiveness in managing our resources mentality) and someone strong enough to break the demonic hold the civilian military have on Nigeria (David Mark et al). Then will we move forward as a nation.
All these, are clearly beyond Jonathan.
Vote wisely, vote Buhari To believe that a man who can't use an annual pension of 300million naira to transform Daura can bring about national change is the height of economic illiteracy Buhari has nothing to offer. |

Boss13: We are in this mess because someone called Jonathan got us into it. One of our problem is that we always find a way to attack the messenger and ignore the message. That is why our leaders misbehave and rather than we holding them accountable, we make excuses for them.
Soludo has told us nothing but what we already know. He only added verifiable facts to the issues. If you did not read the article, please do. It was not a campaign tool but a wake up call to both presidential candidates.
Buhari promised 20,000 jobs for each state every month or year. How would he achieve that? The president promised 2,000,000 jobs per annum - likewise, how would he achieve that. These are mere words/deception if they have no documented implementation strategy. Do you also know that in our 2015 budget - oil revenue was estimated as $60/barrel and presently oil price is lower than $50/barrel. Now you begin to question, who is the wicked and clueless person that did that budget? Be mindful that the team responsible are considered the best the president can recruit. If you like complain from now to next 50years, Nigeria is going no where until she is restructured along the path of True Federalism. What we should ask both parties are Their stand on true federalism and how to achieve it. |

egift: The oil boom he is talking about is when price of oil per barrel was around and above $100. Instead of Jonathan saving more than his predecessors, he was squandering what was in the reserve, eating up the massive income and also borrowed even more than the previous regimes. Also poverty rate increased in the mist of plenty.
That is reason why immediately there is a decline, Jonathan is having problem funding budget, paying salary, etc. The summery is that Jonathan has mismanaged the economy - So why then should we reelect such incompetent individual to preside over Nigeria especially when we are on the brink of economic collapse because of his inefficiencies?

Chigold101: Soluda has once again proven that he is a weak man. A man i so much loved but his unforgiven spirit is second to none.
Soludo is writing like this against GEJ because GEJ is the reason why he lost Anambra election in 2010(I worked as member of his campaign team).
In 2013 he joined APGA and was talked about how to continue with Obi‘s good work as governor of Anambra state but Obi who already had Obiano in mind used style to push Soludo aside...
He joined Atiku‘s camp in 2011 thinking that GEJ will lose at the PDP primaries, but their camp was disgraced. Now he has come here to cause confusion in the polity because all he wants is to see GEJ disgraced, but it will not work for him in Jesus name.
This is how his unforgiven spirit made him to make sure that Dora Akunyiri (his wife‘s aunty. Dora is the younger sister to the wife‘s mother) never win Anambra central senatoral sit. He took it upon himself to make sure that Ngige is decleard the winner even when there was a little confusion in few constituencie. All because Dora through GEJ & Abuja PDP helped Peter Obi defeat him in 2010.
As an insider who knows the fight going on between Soludo, GEJ & Obi am not suprised at all with the this piece. It has some elements of truth but it is coated with many sweet lies.
He took sabatical after Peter Obi messed him up in 2013 prior to Anambra state guber election. Which sabatical? He went in to leak his wounds...
He thinks he has seen where to nail GEJ. I sensed it too when he called GEJ's economic advisers traders. Anyway GEJ should learn somethings especially his point on True Federalism |

Thank you Soludo for a wake up call Let's be frank GEJ has failed in the core reason why God enthroned him What is that core reason.? True federalism Until Nigeria is restructured, our potential will not manifest. Let's look at the relationship between fiscal federalism and job creation/economic development
If we had insisted that each state retained 50% of the mineral royalties and taxes, today our States, LGAs and private sector would have been the vanguard of job creation/economic development.
Let's use 3 states as case study Ondo(Bauxite), Enugu(Coal) and Kogi(Iron ore) Imagine the jobs that would have been created if these states had been empowered by law to control 50% of these resources. Imagine the industries that would have been established and the economic development that would have taken place in these states. But No says the far North to true federalism
Soludo is a brilliant economist But OBJ is a disgrace to God and man Why He was the one who should have entrenched TRUE FEDERALISM unfortunately he went there and failed like King Saul due to love for riches rather than God.
I know President Jonathan is reading our comments as a guest Mr. President Jonathan you will end up being a failure if you fail to implement True Federalism All other things like Train rehabilitation, fertilizer e wallet etc are secondary
President Jonathan on True Federalism we stand Neither fail we Igbos nor the Nigerdeltans.

To court martial soldiers in these circumstances is madness. It is clear the soldiers at the top including Minimah have to go, the trouble is their replacements will be determined by GEJ's interests. Nigeria is not winning this . What is painful is this is clearly an effort to influence the elections but sadly GEJ does NOT seem to have any answers . In this day and age we cannot be asking our soldiers to die at the rate of 50 to 100 daily while some clowns like Dieziani are feeding fat. Think if you are a soldier in Monguno will you be motivated for this war under the circumstances?
