Both the suspect and the deceased person were childhood friends and residents along Adamawa road in Dutsen-Kura-Hausa Area of Minna, the Niger State capital.

China painter, 87, welcomes son with wife, 37, amid US$280 million theft rumour

Fan Zeng, one of the most valuable contemporary painters in China, recently announced the birth of his only biological son while severing ties with his other children, once again bringing family disputes into the public eye.

At 87 years old, Fan is celebrated for his remarkable artistry, with his works generating sales exceeding four billion yuan (US$567 million) between 2008 and 2024, as reported by news portal QQ.com.

At least 10 of his paintings have fetched over 10 million yuan at auction. Notably, a piece created by Fan in 1991 sold for 18.4 million yuan at a Beijing auction in 2011.

In addition to his painting prowess, Fan is a highly regarded calligrapher, with his calligraphy priced around 200,000 yuan (US$28,000) per 0.11 square metre.

In recent years, Fan has been a focal point of public interest. In April last year, he garnered significant attention for marrying Xu Meng, who is 50 years his junior.

Before this marriage, Fan had been through three marriages, resulting in one biological daughter and two stepchildren.

On December 11, Fan announced the birth of his son, whom Xu gave birth to.

“Recently, I welcomed a son, my sole child. I have also moved into a new house. My wife, our son, and I form a very happy family,” Fan shared on social media.

“Given my old age, I have entrusted my beloved wife Xu Meng to manage all internal and external family matters from now on. Others have no right to interfere,” he added.

Fan also made the decision to completely sever ties with his other children.

“Some individuals use the names of my other children to spread rumours, incite conflicts, and even jeopardise my family. Therefore, I officially announce today that I will break off all relations with my daughter Fan Xiaohui, my stepson Fan Zhongda, and their families. I will not engage with them further.

“I revoke all trust, authorisation, and collaboration arrangements with them. They are not permitted to use my name for any future activities. If they do, I will hold them accountable,” said Fan.

It is widely known among the mainland public that Fan has been on strained terms with his children.

In August, his daughter Xiaohui claimed on social media that she had been unable to contact her father. She alleged that the octogenarian was being mistreated and controlled by Xu and accused Xu of secretly selling numerous artworks worth 2 billion yuan (US$280 million) belonging to Fan.

Days later, Fan’s company dismissed these allegations as baseless.

A native of eastern Jiangsu province, Fan studied traditional Chinese painting at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing in the 1960s.

He trained under the guidance of Li Keran and Li Kuchan, both respected masters in modern Chinese art history.

Fan married Lin Xiu in 1963, though they divorced five years later.

In 1971, he married his classmate Bian Baohua, who had previously been divorced and had a daughter. Bian eventually gave birth to Fan’s daughter, Fan Xiaohui.

Fan and Bian divorced in 1993, after which he married Zhang Guiyun, also known as Nan Li. Zhang’s two sons adopted Fan’s surname following their marriage. Zhang died in 2021.

Xu, who previously worked as a presenter at China Traffic Broadcasting, met Fan through her job and later became his assistant. Last year, Fan mentioned on social media that Xu’s “considerate care and love helped him recover from illness.”

Over the past decades, Fan’s works have frequently been exhibited internationally.

Foreign AffairsGerman Police Foil Terroist Plan To Attack Christmas Market by BlackViper(op): 10:38am On Dec 18, 2025
German prosecutors said they had foiled a suspected terror plot by an Egyptian imam and several Muslim migrants to use a vehicle to plough into a Bavarian Christmas market and kill holiday revellers.

The Islamist preacher, 56, aimed “to kill or injure as many people as possible” by driving a vehicle into a busy festive celebration, according to a statement by public prosecutors.

Three Moroccan men, aged 22, 28 and 30 respectively, pledged to carry out the deed, while a fifth man, a 37-year-old Syrian, encouraged them to follow through, according to the authorities. Four of the men were arrested near the Austrian border, north of Salzburg, according to local outlet PNP. All five are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Similar terror attacks on German Christmas markets in recent years, including one in the eastern city of Magdeburg last year by a Saudi national, and in Berlin in 2016 by a Tunisian, left 19 people dead and hundreds more injured.

“The extent to which Islamist structures may have penetrated Germany gives cause for concern,” said Jens Spahn, chief whip of the Christian Democrats, on X.

Investigations into plot are ongoing. German public broadcaster BR reported that the key tip-off in the case came from Bavarian state intelligence.

“There was no immediate danger to the population,” the Munich public prosecutors’ office told Euractiv.

While the accused “wanted to carry out an attack in the Dingolfing area, there was still no specific target or date for the attack.” Located about an hour’s drive northeast of Munich, Dingolfing is home to BMW’s largest auto factory in Europe.

SportsFrench Court Orders PSG To Pay Mbappe €60 Million Unpaid Wages by BlackViper(op): 7:02pm On Dec 17, 2025
Paris Saint-Germain ordered to pay Kylian Mbappe €60m French court rules

French football champions Paris Saint-Germain have been ordered to pay former player Kylian Mbappe 60 million euros (£52.6m) by a Paris court.

A Paris labour court found on Tuesday that Mbappe was due three months in unpaid wages, as well as an ethics bonus and a signing bonus, under his employment contract with PSG.

It was noted that the sums were recognised by the French Professional Football League (LFP) in September and October 2024, and that there was no evidence of an agreement showing that Mbappe had waived his entitlement to them.

Judges thus rejected the club's argument that the 26-year-old French forward should forfeit unpaid wages entirely, but did dismiss his additional claims of concealed work, moral harassment and breach of the employer's duty of safety.

Speaking to reporters after the verdict, Mbappe's lawyer Frederique Cassereau said: "We are satisfied with the ruling. This is what you could expect when salaries went unpaid."

In a statement, his legal team also said: "This judgment confirms that commitments entered into must be honoured. It restores a simple truth: even in the professional football industry, labour law applies to everyone."

PSG 'reserving right to appeal'

PSG said in a statement that it "takes note of the ruling handed down by the Paris labour court, which it will comply with, while reserving the right to appeal".

The statement added: "Paris Saint-Germain has always acted in good faith and with integrity, and will continue to do so.

"The club is now looking to the future, built on unity and collective success, and wishes the player all the best for the remainder of his career."

Now playing for Real Madrid, Mbappe had taken PSG to court over earnings he said were withheld for April, May and June 2024 - before he left the club for Spain on a free transfer.

Lawyers for the striker argued he was owed more than 260m euros (£227m), and that his fixed-term contract should be reclassified as a permanent one.

Judges on Tuesday did not view Mbappe's contract with PSG as a permanent one, which limited the scale of possible compensation.

PSG argued that Mbappe had acted disloyally by concealing for nearly a year his intention not to renew his contract, and sought 440m euros (£385m) over damages and a "loss of opportunity" after he left on a free transfer.

In the last year of his contract, he was linked with a world record transfer to Saudi Arabian football club Al Hilal, which Sky Sports News reported at the time to be worth £259m.

PSG signed Mbappe on loan with a mandatory purchase option of 180m euros (£165.7m) from AS Monaco in 2017, making him the second-most expensive player and most expensive teenage footballer in history.

While playing for the Parisians, he won six league titles and scored 256 goals in all competitions, making him the club's all-time top goal scorer.

A suicide bomber has detonated an explosive device, killing five soldiers in Pulka town in Gwoza LGA of Borno State.

Residents and security sources said the incident occurred on Sunday morning at a military checkpoint.

A source said the attacker was a suspected member of the Islamic State-West African Province (ISWAP) who had been hiding in the Mandara Mountains.

The source said, “Some people revealed that he passed the night close to the military checkpoint, planning the heinous act.

“In the morning, when the road was opened for passersby, he pretended to be one of them and detonated the bomb in their midst. Five soldiers lost their lives instantly.”

Another resident said, “For over a year now, this is the only suicide attack that has been recorded here, and it calls for a new approach by security operatives to avert a recurrence.”

The latest incident revived painful memories of previous suicide attacks in Gwoza and other parts of Borno State.

On June 30, 2024, two female suicide bombers detonated explosives during a wedding ceremony in Gwoza town, killing 18 celebrants, including children and a pregnant woman.

Similarly, on June 21, 2025, no fewer than 11 civilians were killed while several others were wounded when a suicide bomber detonated an explosive device at a viewing centre in Konduga LGA.

Suspected Bandits Attack Osun Community, Kidnap Ex-Customs Officer, Kill Resident

Gunmen on Monday night attacked a community in Ora-Igbomina, Ifedayo Local Government Area of Osun State, kidnapping a former Nigerian customs officer and killing one person.

Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Inurin of Ora-Igbomina, High Chief Sunday Fadipe, said the gunmen stormed the town at about 7pm and headed straight to the residence of the former customs officer.

Mr Fadipe said the victim was returning home when the gunmen, who had laid an ambush at his house, abducted him.

According to him, the assailants, while escaping through farmlands in the Akisa area, encountered a man working on his farm with a headlamp and allegedly shot him dead.

He said it was the deceased’s 10-year-old son, who was with him at the time of the incident, that ran into the town to report the killing.

Fadipe said the police had been informed and were already on the trail of the gunmen.

He called on the government to strengthen security in the area, noting that Ora-Igbomina shares boundaries with Ekiti and Kwara states.

When contacted, the Osun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, confirmed that the command had received a report of the incident.

Ojelabi said the Divisional Police Officer in the town had visited the residence of the kidnapped former customs officer to gather more information.

He described the incident as a case of kidnapping, adding that the report of a killing had not yet been confirmed.

“Immediately we heard about the incident, our tactical teams were deployed and they have been on the trail of the suspects.

”We have a tactical team on the ground in the town, and with support from forest guards, vigilantes and local security personnel, they are combing the bushes to rescue the victim.

“The Commissioner of Police in the state, Ibrahim Gotan, has deployed more tactical teams to the area, and the investigation is ongoing as the police are on the trail of the kidnappers,” he said.

BusinessElon Musk Crosses $600bn Net Worth by BlackViper(op): 10:45am On Dec 16, 2025
Elon Musk has become the first person in history to surpass a net worth of $600 billion, with his wealth now estimated at $677 billion, according to Forbes.

The sharp rise in Musk’s fortune was driven mainly by the soaring value of his private space company, SpaceX.

Earlier this month, SpaceX carried out a tender offer that valued the company at $800 billion, up from $400 billion in August, according to investors cited by Forbes.

Musk owns about 42 per cent of SpaceX, and the new valuation alone added roughly $168 billion to his personal wealth.

The tender offer comes ahead of a possible SpaceX initial public offering (IPO) in 2026, which could value the company at around $1.5 trillion, according to one investor. Such a move could make Musk the world’s first trillionaire, even without gains from his other businesses.

Forbes estimates that Musk’s $336 billion stake in SpaceX is now his most valuable asset, ahead of his 12 per cent stake in Tesla, valued at about $197 billion.

His Tesla stock options from the 2018 CEO performance award, which were voided by a Delaware judge in January 2024, are currently valued at $69 billion, pending the outcome of his appeal.

Musk’s artificial intelligence company, xAI, also plays a major role in his growing fortune. The company is reportedly raising funds at a valuation of $230 billion, more than double the $113 billion valuation Musk mentioned when xAI was formed earlier this year through a merger with social media platform X.

Musk owns 53 per cent of xAI, a stake valued at about $60 billion.

With an estimated $425 billion gap between him and the world’s second-richest person, Google co-founder Larry Page, Forbes notes that Musk is now closer to $700 billion than to losing his position as the world’s richest individual.

A video circulating online has sparked outrage among Nigerians after showing a group of Muslims, including children and adults, raising the flag of Palestine while chanting Arabic prayers.

The clip, shared by Nnesome Wike’s aide, Leye Olayinka, claimed the incident took place in Iwo, Osun State. In his post, Olayinka wrote: “Na like this Maitatsine take start in Kano then. Boko Haram also started like this in Maiduguri.”

In the video, the group could be seen chanting “Free Palestine”, with a person resembling their cleric leading the prayers.

The clip has triggered strong reactions online. One user, @RegalJr_hi_sho, wrote: “They can support Palestinian people, but raising their flag and forming a parade is bad! Na like this Boko Haram and ISIS start.”

Another, @EmmanuelAkind17, said: “If it was during the active days of @OfficialDSSNG, that man would have been arrested, including his enablers and funders. The sad thing is he’s indoctrinating young children and recruiting them as potential terrorists.”

@iyanuiyanuiyanu added: “The slow radicalization begins, right before our eyes. If Jackson does not act against that Iwo king, it’s only a matter of time before we see terror attacks in the South West.”

Other Nigerians also criticized the use of minors. @waleshabie730 wrote: “Using children for a mission they don’t understand is barbaric. These kids need to learn to pay allegiance to Nigeria, not other countries. This is brainwashing. Our Senate should introduce stringent laws to deal with this.”

Some commentators compared the incident to similar international situations. One wrote: “It’s like telling the West that Nigeria is Boko Haram because a white man raised the Nigerian flag in the UK.”

Foreign AffairsIsrael & Iran Condemn Australia Terror Attack by BlackViper(op): 5:11pm On Dec 14, 2025
The governments of Israel and Iran have condemned a shooting in Sydney targeting a Hanukkah celebration that killed 11 people on Sunday, with various government officials suggesting Australia had failed to combat hatred of Jews.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused Canberra of having fuelled antisemitism in the period leading up to the shooting.

“A few months ago, I wrote to the Australian prime minister that your policy is pouring oil on the fire of antisemitism,” he said, referring to a letter he sent to Anthony Albanese in August following Canberra’s announcement that it would recognise Palestinian statehood.

“Antisemitism is a cancer that spreads when leaders are silent,” Netanyahu added during a televised public address at an event in southern Israel.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar urged Canberra to act against the “surge” in antisemitism during a phone call with his Australian counterpart Penny Wong.

In a post on X, Saar said he told Wong “that since Oct 7 there has been a surge in antisemitism in Australia, including violent incitement against Israel and Jews”.

“The Australian government must take strong action against the use of these antisemitic calls,” he added, referring to slogans sometimes heard at pro-Palestinian protests, such as “Globalise the Intifada”, “From the River to the Sea, Palestine Will be Free”, and “Death to the IDF (Israeli army)”.

Iran denounces a “violent attack”

Also, the Iranian foreign ministry on Sunday denounced the attack.

“We condemn the violent attack in Sydney, Australia. Terror and killing of human beings, wherever committed, is rejected and condemned,” foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said on X.

Relations between Iran and Australia have significantly deteriorated this year.

In August, Canberra blamed Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps for two 2024 arson attacks targeting its Jewish community.

The arson attacks targeted a kosher restaurant in Sydney and a synagogue in Melbourne but caused no casualties.

Following the attacks, Canberra declared the Iranian ambassador persona non grata and gave him and three other Iranian diplomats a week to leave the country.

It also recalled its own ambassador and suspended the activities of its embassy in Tehran.

Iran condemned the move and vowed “reciprocal action”.

In November, the Australian government designated Iran’s Revolutionary Guards a terror-sponsoring group.

Iran’s foreign ministry called the move “an insulting and unjustified act” and a “violation of international legal rules and norms related to the national sovereignty of states.”

In June, arch foes Iran and Israel engaged in a direct war after a year of tit-for-tat strikes in the aftermath of the Gaza war.

That war, which lasted 12 days, saw Israel attacking Iranian military and nuclear sites, as well as residential areas, killing over a thousand people.

Iran responded with drone and missile attacks on Israel that killed dozens.

The United States briefly joined the conflict with strikes on Iranian nuclear sites before a ceasefire was reached.

Science/TechnologyChina Begins Mass Production Of Nuclear Powered Batteries With 50 Yr Lifespan by BlackViper(op): 5:02pm On Dec 11, 2025
A Battery That Could Power the Future — for 50 Years.

China has begun mass production of nuclear batteries and they’re smaller than a coin.

They need no charging, no sunlight, no wires, and no maintenance.
Just pure, continuous energy for up to five decades.

Built by Betavolt, this battery converts nuclear decay into electricity. It’s completely sealed, emits zero external radiation, and is safe for daily environments.

💡 What’s new:

The current version produces 100 microwatts, enough for sensors, medical implants, or trackers.
But a 1-watt version is already in development, capable of powering drones, industrial systems, and even smartphones.

⚡ Why it matters:

Almost every innovation we build is limited by energy — by batteries that drain, by downtime, by recharging cycles.

This technology could rewrite that equation entirely.

A world where devices never turn off.
Where drones never land.
Where your smartwatch runs for half a century.

In my opinion, this could be one of the biggest steps toward truly autonomous technology.

But it also raises a deeper question —
If our machines no longer need rest, will we?

Foreign AffairsNobel Prize Winner, Maria Machado Escapes Venezuela Disguised In Wig by BlackViper(op): 3:58pm On Dec 11, 2025

Nobel winner escapes Venezuela disguised in wig to accept peace prize

Maria Corina Machado, a pro-democracy activist, stepped onto the balcony of Oslo’s Grand Hotel shortly before 2.30am on Thursday after spending more than a year in hiding in Caracas.

The 58-year-old was smuggled out of Venezuela with help from the US in defiance of a decade-long travel ban imposed by authorities in her home country, and after spending more than a year in hiding.

Wearing a wig and disguise, Ms Machado evaded 10 military checkpoints before boarding a small fishing boat across the Caribbean to the neighbouring island of Curaçao in a 10-hour operation, the Wall Street Journal reported.

She departed Curaçao on a private plane for Norway, stopping to refuel in Bangor, Maine, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Her escape had been meticulously planned over two months and her team reached out to the White House to ensure that the boat in which she was travelling was not targeted by US air strikes. Some 20 vessels leaving Venezuela have been hit in the last three months, killing 80 people.

“We co-ordinated that she was going to leave by a specific area so that they would not blow up the boat,” said the person close to the operation.

At the time of Ms Machado’s crossing in Curaçao, two US Navy F-18s flew into the Gulf of Venezuela, where they spent 40 minutes flying in tight circles near her route, flight tracking data show. It was the closest incursion by US planes in Venezuelan airspace since tensions rose in September.

Speaking in Oslo, Ms Machado described the joy of reuniting with her children – who live in exile – for the first time in two years.

“For over 16 months I haven’t been able to hug or touch anyone,” she told the BBC. “Suddenly, in the matter of a few hours, I’ve been able to see the people I love the most, and touch them and cry and pray together.”

Her escape was so guarded that the Nobel Institute said it did not know where she was when the prize ceremony began in Oslo on Wednesday.

Ms Machado greeted dozens of people from the balcony of the hotel where Nobel laureates traditionally stay. She waved and sang the national anthem along with the crowd, who flew Venezuelan flags and filmed her with their mobile phones.

Later, Ms Machado came down to the street and climbed over crowd barriers to hug and shake hands with people who had gathered in the cold for a chance to see her.

Diana Luna, a Mexican-German woman in the said, said: “After all these months hiding, with her life in danger, seeing her safe among the Venezuelan diaspora is both reassuring and energising.

“It is also a way for the Venezuelan cause to stay alive and to put more pressure on the regime.”

Ms Machado arrived in Oslo just a few hours too late to collect the Nobel Prize herself.

Instead, Ana Corina Sosa ‌Machado, her daughter, accepted the award in her name and delivered a speech written by her mother in which she said democracies must be prepared to fight for freedom in order to survive.

In her speech, Ms Machado said that the prize held profound significance, not only for her country but for the world.

“It reminds the world that democracy is essential to peace,” she said via her daughter. “And more than anything, what we Venezuelans can offer the world is the lesson forged through this long and difficult journey: that to have a democracy, we must be willing to ‍fight for freedom.”

A source, who had been briefed by Ms Machado’s camp, said her escape from the Venezuelan coast was handled by her security staff.

When she arrived in Curaçao at 3pm on Tuesday, she was met by a private contractor, who was supplied by the Trump administration and specialises in extractions, the Wall Street Journal reported.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Ms Machado’s travel to Curaçao.

Speaking at her hotel early on Thursday, Ms Machado said she planned to return to Venezuela despite the risks she faced.

“Of course I’m going back,” she told the BBC.

Ms Machado later said she did not know when she would return but said she would do so to “end with this tyranny very soon and have a free Venezuela”.

“I came to receive the prize on behalf of the Venezuelan people and I will take it back to Venezuela at the correct moment,” the main opponent to Nicolas Maduro told reporters as she left the Norwegian parliament on Thursday morning.

A large portrait of a smiling Ms Machado hung in the Oslo City Hall to represent her ‍at the ceremony. The audience cheered and clapped when Jorgen Watne Frydnes, the head of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, said during his speech that Ms Machado would be coming to Oslo.

She will address the Norwegian parliament later on Thursday.

Evoking previous laureates Nelson Mandela and Lech Walesa, Mr Frydnes said fighters for democracy were expected “to pursue their aims with a moral purity their opponents never display”.

“This is unrealistic. It is unfair,” he said.

“No democracy operates in ideal circumstances. Activist leaders must confront and resolve dilemmas that we onlookers are free to ignore. People living under the dictatorship often have to choose between the difficult and the impossible.”

In 2024, Ms Machado was barred from running ‍in the presidential election, despite having won the opposition’s primary by a landslide. She went into hiding in August 2024 after authorities expanded arrests of opposition figures following the disputed vote.

The electoral authority and top court declared Nicolas Maduro the winner, but international observers and the opposition say their candidate won and the opposition has published ballot box-level tallies as evidence of its victory.

“Freedom is a choice that must be renewed each day, measured by our willingness and ‍our courage to defend it. For this reason, the cause of Venezuela transcends our borders,” Ms Machado said in her prepared speech.

“A people who choose freedom contribute not only to themselves, but to humanity.”

Mr Maduro, who has been in power since 2013, has said Donald Trump, the US president, is trying to overthrow him to gain access to Venezuela’s vast oil reserves ‍and that Venezuelan citizens and armed forces will resist any such attempt.

When the announcement was made in October that Ms Machado had won the Nobel Peace Prize, she dedicated it in part to Mr Trump, who has said he deserved the honour. She has aligned herself with hawks close to Mr Trump who argue that Mr Maduro has links to criminal gangs that pose a direct threat to US national security, despite doubts raised by the US intelligence community.

The Trump administration has ordered more than 20 military strikes in recent months against alleged drug-trafficking vessels in the Caribbean and off Latin America’s Pacific coast.

Human rights groups, some Democrats and several Latin American countries have condemned the attacks as unlawful extrajudicial killings of civilians.

Foreign AffairsArab Militias Gang Rape Fleeing African Refugee Children In Sudan by BlackViper(op): 3:45pm On Dec 10, 2025
More than fifty children were raped by Sudan’s paramilitary forces as they fled the fallen city of El Fasher, aid workers have said.

Six weeks after the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) overran the city in North Darfur, experts estimate at least 60,000 people have been killed – making it by far the worst single atrocity in Sudan’s nearly three-year civil war.

Medical workers told local media that 54 children were raped or sexually assaulted while escaping towards Tawila, some 25 miles west of El Fasher. They didn’t provide further details.

Another group, the Sudanese Doctor’s Network, said at least 19 women were raped as they fled north towards al-Dabba. Two victims are now pregnant and receiving medical care at a nearby displacement camp, they said.

RSF fighters reportedly stalked families along the road, with many victims gang-raped by multiple soldiers for hours or days, often in front of relatives.

Doctors described survivors arriving in Tawila as “severely traumatised”, with children suffering acute malnutrition and immune deficiencies, and pregnant women collapsing from exhaustion, anaemia, and miscarriages.

The network condemned the “mass rape” of women as a weapon of war.

As many as 150,000 residents of El Fasher remain unaccounted for. Some are believed to be held in RSF detention centres inside the city, but the fate of tens of thousands remains unknown amid communication blackouts.

New satellite images suggest El Fasher is “beginning to look a lot like a slaughterhouse”, according to the Yale School of Public Health’s Humanitarian Research Lab (HRL), which has been tracking the war in Sudan from space.

Piles of bodies, mass graves, and large cremation pits are visible across the city. British MPs were briefed that at least 60,000 people have been killed in the weeks since the RSF seized the city on 26 October.

That is more than the number killed in the entire Bosnian war, where around 40,000 died, and more than seven times the number killed in the 1995 Srebrenica massacre, where over 8,000 Bosnian men and boys were killed.

The satellite imagery from Yale HRL suggests the RSF is masking the scale of atrocities by digging mass graves in what it calls “body disposal operations.”

Severe hunger is also affecting those who escaped El Fasher. The aid group Doctors Without Borders (MSF) reported “staggering” levels of malnutrition following the RSF’s 18-month starvation siege on the city.

The atrocities followed an earlier RSF assault on the nearby Zamzam displacement camp in April, where Amnesty International documented killings, hostage-taking and the destruction of schools and mosques.

Sudan has been embroiled in a ruinous civil war since April 2023, when fighting broke out between two formerly allied generals. The violence has displaced 14 million people from their homes and killed as many as 400,000 people. The UN has called it “the world’s worst humanitarian crisis”.

Elsewhere, clashes in the North, South and West Kordofan states – home to almost eight million people in the southernmost part of the country – are intensifying, shifting the frontline of the war eastwards from Darfur.

Last week, at least 114 people, including 63 children, were killed when an RSF drone struck a primary school and a hospital in Kalogi, where the injured were being treated.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, chief of the World Health Organisation (WHO) said the hospital had been targeted at least three times.

“Disturbingly, paramedics and responders came under attack as they tried to move the injured from the kindergarten to the hospital,” Mr Tedros wrote on X.

Days earlier, a Sudanese army “double-tap” drone strike killed at least 48 people, mostly children and students, in Kumo, a village in South Kordofan state.

The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N), a rebel-group that has been fighting the government on and off since 1983, said the strike “deliberately targeted non-combatants”.

Last month, a famine was confirmed in Kadugli, the capital of South Kordofan state, which is under siege by the SAF, cutting off food, water and medical supplies to hundreds of thousands of people.

As fighting intensifies, the UN’s chief spokesperson warned that the “horrific human rights violations and abuses reported in El Fasher…must not be repeated in the Kordofan region.”

After storming El Fasher, the Sudanese army’s last foothold in the western Darfur region, the RSF now control half of the country, analysts say.

On Monday, the group announced the capture of Heglig oilfield, Sudan’s largest oilfield, cementing its hold over West Kordofan and gaining both strategic and economic leverage.

Experts warn the advance could open a direct corridor toward Khartoum, the former heart of Sudan’s government, which the RSF briefly seized in 2023 before being ousted by army forces earlier this year.

PoliticsFulani Militia Killed My Father, 4 Relatives In Taraba — NYSC Member Cries Out by BlackViper(op): 11:57am On Dec 10, 2025

Fulani Militias Attacked Taraba Community, Killed My Father, Four Relatives — Grieving NYSC Member Cries Out, Says Herdsmen Chased All Residents, Settled Down

A serving member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Orkeghen Philip Aondofa, has cried out for help, saying armed Fulani herders launched a deadly attack on his village — New-Gboko (Nyugoko) in Peva–Chanchanji Ward, Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State.

They reportedly killed his father and four other members of his family.

Philip, who is currently serving in Enugu State, recounted the horror in an emotional interview with SaharaReporters, saying the Taraba State government has remained silent while killings continue across communities in Chanchanji ward.

According to him, the attackers, whom he repeatedly referred to as “herders ”, invaded the community on November 27, 2025, unleashing violence that forced all surviving residents to flee.

He said the assailants are still occupying the village, preventing him from retrieving his father’s corpse for burial.

Right now, as I speak to you, the killing is all over Chanchanji ward in Takum LGA of Taraba State. The Taraba State Government is silent about it,” he said.

The corps member said one of the attackers used his late father’s phone to call him after the massacre — only to confess to killing him.

After the attack, one of them took my father's phone and called me. When I asked where the owner of the phone was, he told me, he killed my father directly. I broke down and ended the call,” he said.

Philip said the inability to recover his father’s remains has left him in deeper anguish.

What pains me the most now is how I will get my father’s corpse to bury. Those herders are still there in the village. There is nobody left in my village.”

The corps member said he is nearing the end of his service year but now feels completely stranded and without hope.

“After my service, I don’t know where to go. I don’t know where to start. I am calling on the Federal Government and those concerned to come to my aid. I am broke, I am hopeless. I don’t have anywhere to go; everything is gone. I have lost hope.”

As of the time of filing this report, the Taraba State government had not issued any statement regarding the attack.

Communities in Takum and neighbouring council areas have suffered repeated violent attacks over the years, with residents consistently accusing authorities of leaving them at the mercy of armed groups.

CrimeRe: How A Kind Hearted Nigerian Lawyer Rescued A Young Mother From Jail by BlackViper(op): 8:17am On Dec 10, 2025
She was arrested for a misdemeanor. Or didn't you read the article?
A misdemeanor is a minor offence unlike a felony which carries very serious penalties.

Orlandoo:
All these young girls nowadays should watch their steps. You can't tell me she was just passing by and they arrested her and put her in jail. She committed something even while pregnant. Kudos to the lawyer for being a God sent to her.

She gave birth in prison and needed divine intervention to gain freedom
I wasn’t even supposed to be in court today.

Three minutes before I arrived, I was informed that my matter wasn’t listed in the cause list, the registrar had given me a wrong date. Ordinarily, I would have turned back to the office, but something in me insisted on going into the courtroom.

Nothing prepared me for what I saw just ten minutes later.

A young girl in her early 20s walked in, holding her one month old baby, dressed in prison uniform.

I gently asked her what had happened. She told me she had put to bed inside the prison barely a month ago. She had been arrested in April for a misdemeanor, while pregnant and had remained in custody since then. She was also standing trial without a lawyer.

When her case was called, I immediately rose and announced appearance for her.

The complainant was not in court.
The prosecutor was present today, but not ready to proceed.

They had not been attending court for several adjournments.

So I urged the court to strike out the matter and acquit the defendant, relying on the relevant provisions of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL) of Lagos State and the applicable case law.

Your Honour, Mrs. A. K. Dosunmu Uthman, struck out the charge, discharged and acquitted her and the entire courtroom erupted in applause.

John Mary, young mother who walked in wearing prison clothes walked out a free woman.

I left the courtroom smiling, deeply convinced that God directed my steps today.

CelebritiesRe: DJ Mysterious Reacts To Her Son’s Questions About His Dad by BlackViper: 5:38pm On Dec 09, 2025
How on earth did this irresponsible creature become a mother? Imagine smoking in the presence of a young child when it is well established that there is a strong chance of contracting second hand cancer from inhaling tobacco smoked by someone else!

If you don't care about your own health, why endanger the young lad's health?

This is looking more like a kidnapper and hostage relationship than a mother and child one.

Even look at how rough and un-lady like her language and mannerisms are. Her so called son is even more feminine than she is and that should tell us how much emotional damage she has inflicted on him.

Only DJ Khaled is a heavyweight amongst those 3. If you know, you know 😏

SpencerForbes:
Tems is a premium target. Wizkid tried and failed, Drake tried his luck and couldn't land her, and even DJ Khaled couldn't succeed. If those heavyweights couldn't handle the mission, then who exactly am I to try? I’ll just admire from afar. 😅

EducationFormer Teacher Accused Of Having Sex With Student In Her Jeep Multiple Times by BlackViper(op): 12:59pm On Dec 09, 2025
A former art teacher is accused of having an unlawful sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student she befriended years earlier, according to an affidavit filed in the case.

Nicole Hernandez, also known as Nikki Baird, 30, was arrested May 22 and is charged with four felony counts of unlawful sexual relations with a student.

According to The Wichita Eagle, investigators say Baird met the student when he was in middle school, and the two later moved to Wichita North High School, where the relationship allegedly progressed.

The affidavit says Baird groomed and isolated the student, initially through communication and physical contact such as touching his back and shoulders.

She "messaged him about how her marriage was struggling," according to the affidavit.

The document alleges the relationship escalated in early 2024 to sexual encounters, including multiple instances in the backseat of her Jeep. Baird is also accused of sending nude photos and love letters, and investigators allege the relationship continued after the student graduated.

“One letter said, ‘I hope and pray one day I get the chance to be with you’ and ‘I know that I love you,’” according to the affidavit and reported by The Wichita Eagle.

Per The Wichita Eagle, administrators at the high school were made aware of concerns about the relationship at least a year before she was arrested and charged. The teacher was initially placed on paid administration leave after the arrest, but The Wichita Eagle reported she was no longer employed by the district.

Baird was released on a $50,000 bond. Her arraignment is scheduled for Dec. 19.

So kidnapping of Christians for ransom has now come to the South West under Tinubu?

And look at how diabolical they are to do it a few weeks to Christmas.

This country is finished. Anyone who says otherwise is either a liar or part of the problem.
