Politics › Police Detain "Obi" Of Lagos by BlackViper(op): 5:23am On Sep 11, 2025 |
The Police Command in Lagos State has detained a self-proclaimed traditional ruler who attempted to deceive the public by unlawfully parading himself as the ‘Obi of Lagos’ during an unauthorised installation ceremony. The command deputy spokesperson, DSP Babaseyi Oluseyi, confirmed this in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos. He said that the suspect and three accomplices were apprehended on Wednesday. “The 65-year-old principal suspect, an indigene of Obodoukwu Ancient Kingdom, Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo, was apprehended alongside three co-conspirators of ages 41, 51 and 65,” he said. Oluseyi said that intelligence available to the command indicated that the group had finalised arrangements to unveil a prototype of a purported N1.5 billion “Palace of Obi of Lagos State” on Saturday at Apple Hall, Amuwo Odofin. “Acting on the information, the police promptly sealed off the venue in order to forestall any breach of the peace and to protect unsuspecting members of the public from being misled. “In furtherance of this preventive action, the command deployed adequate manpower, including conventional police operatives, Eko Strike Force teams, and other tactical squads, to the premises earmarked for the ceremony. “Their presence was to guarantee that the event did not hold as planned and to ensure that public order and peace within the area were not compromised, ” he said. According to the image maker, the suspects are currently in detention and investigation is progressing into their nefarious activities. “The outcome of the investigation will be made public, and they will be charged to court accordingly, ” he said. The spokesperson said that the Commissioner of Police(CP), Mr Olohundare Jimoh, urged the public to beware of impostors exploiting traditional institutions. “CP Jimoh warns members of the public to remain vigilant against impostors and criminal elements who attempt to exploit revered cultural and traditional institutions for selfish gains. “The commissioner reiterates that such actions are unlawful, contrary to the statutes of Lagos State, and capable of breaching the peace of the society, ” he said. According to Oluseyi, the command will continue to enforce the law firmly and decisively against any individual or group engaging in acts that undermine legality, public order, and the integrity of t https://guardian.ng/news/nigeria/metro/police-detain-fake-obi-of-lagos/Mynd44 Lalasticlala Nlfpmod |

BREAKING: Charlie Kirk has died. Please pray for his family and children. Our hearts are broken for them. 🙏 Charlie Kirk, the prominent pro-life conservative activist and founder of Turning Point USA, died Wednesday afternoon from injuries sustained in a shooting at Utah Valley University. The attack, which occurred during a campus event, has sparked widespread condemnation and renewed concerns over leftist violence in the United States. Kirk, 31, was shot in the neck while speaking at an outdoor event dubbed the “American Comeback Tour” at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, around 12:10 p.m. MDT, according to campus officials. Videos circulating on social media captured the moment a single shot rang out, showing Kirk recoiling and bleeding heavily from his neck as panicked spectators fled. He was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries, the official said. “We are confirming that he was shot and we are praying for Charlie,” Aubrey Laitsch, public relations manager for Turning Point USA, said earlier in the day, before Kirk’s death was confirmed. The university reported that a suspect is in custody, though no details about the individual or their motive have been released. Later reports from multiple news outlets confirmed the apprehended suspect was not the shooter. The FBI and ATF are assisting local authorities in the ongoing investigation. Get the latest pro-life news and information on X (Twitter). The shooting has drawn reactions from political leaders across the spectrum. President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social, “We must all pray for Charlie Kirk, who has been shot. A great guy from top to bottom. GOD BLESS HIM!” Vice President JD Vance called Kirk “a genuinely good guy and a young father,” urging prayers for his family. House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries condemned the attack, stating on X, “Political violence is NEVER acceptable. My thoughts and prayers are with Charlie Kirk and his family.” Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said he was being briefed by law enforcement and emphasized, “Those responsible will be held fully accountable. Violence has no place in our public life.” Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, added, “Please join me in praying for Charlie Kirk and the students gathered there.” Kirk, a vocal advocate for pro-life causes and conservative values, was a polarizing figure known for mobilizing young conservatives through Turning Point USA. His appearance at Utah Valley University, the first stop on a 14-city tour. The university defended his right to speak, citing First Amendment protections. Kirk himself had faced prior hostility, including an attack on a Turning Point USA reporter and security guard at the University of Washington in May 2024, as he noted on X. https://www.lifenews.com/2025/09/10/conservative-activist-charlie-kirk-dies-after-shooting-at-university-event/Mynd44 Lalasticlala Nlfpmod

Foreign Affairs › United States Spends $31 Bilion Annually On Fuel Subsidies by BlackViper(op): 2:23pm On Sep 10, 2025 |
The US currently subsidizes the fossil-fuel industry to the tune of nearly $31bn per year, according to a new analysis.
That figure, calculated by the environmental campaign group Oil Change International, has more than doubled since 2017. And it is likely a vast understatement, due to the difficulty of quantifying the financial gains from some government supports, and to a lack of transparency and reliable data from government sources, the group says.
These handouts pose a massive barrier to decarbonization, says the new report, which experts have long warned is urgently necessary to avert the worst consequences of the climate crisis.
“These subsidies allow for new production that would not otherwise occur,” said Collin Rees, US program manager at Oil Change International and the primary author of the new analysis. “They also, to an enormous extent, go to lining the pockets of shareholders and investors and fossil fuel executives.”
For the analysis, Oil Change International totaled up tax breaks, lower rates to acquire land and other resources, direct appropriations, and other financial support from the US and government-funded groups, using the definition of fossil fuel subsidies established by the World Trade Organization.
All told, US subsidies allow the sector to receive stunning 30,000% returns on investments, the authors found.
The Guardian has contacted the American Petroleum Institute, the nation’s fossil-fuel lobbying group, for comment.
Among the biggest subsidies the US offers oil companies, the report found, is a federal tax rule allowing corporations to credit taxes and royalties they pay to foreign governments on overseas income against their domestic tax bills, to avoid being taxed twice.
Another major support measure is a tax credit for capturing carbon, which is often framed as a climate solution but is primarily used to extract hard-to-reach reserves in a practice known as enhanced oil recovery.
Amid pressure from campaigners and United Nations climate experts, at least 53 countries reformed their fossil-fuel subsidies between 2015 and 2020, according to the Swiss research group Global Subsidies Initiative.
In 2021, Joe Biden also vowed to begin eliminating subsidies for planet-heating energy sources.
“Unlike previous administrations, I don’t think the federal government should give handouts to big oil,” Biden said following his inauguration in 2021.
Yet the US is moving in the wrong direction on the issue, the new report found: Trump’s signature tax-and-spend bill, which the president signed in July, is poised to hand fossil-fuel companies an additional $4bn per year across the next decade, the analysis found.
Among the biggest supports for the oil industry in the megabill are expanded credits for carbon capture and a lowering of already sub-market royalty rates for coal, oil and gas production on public lands. Those enhanced supports could end up being even more valuable to the oil industry in later years, Rees says.
Another provision in the bill, for which oil companies lobbied, can allow those companies to avoid the corporate minimum tax which Biden established during his presidency.
Redirecting all US fossil-fuel subsidies to social programs could vastly improve life for ordinary Americans, the report says, for instance by providing 3 million families with Snap benefits annually, helping 54 million households install solar panels within a decade, or sending 3 million children to Head Start early learning programs.
Though US government supports for fossil fuels are esoteric and complex, they have massive implications for the nation’s relationship with polluting energy companies, said Rees.
“We’re dealing with technical legislative language and components of the tax code, but despite that, I think it’s important to understand that subsidies are political statements,” he said. “They are political choices about what we’re choosing to support as a country.” https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2025/sep/09/fossil-fuels-subisidies-study

Foreign Affairs › Prime Minister Of Nepal, Oli, Resigns After Youths Protested Social Media Ban by BlackViper(op): 2:05pm On Sep 09, 2025 |
Nepal’s prime minister, KP Sharma Oli, has stepped down after more than a dozen people were killed and hundreds injured during youth-led demonstrations triggered by a social media ban by the government, corruption, and a lack of economic opportunities.
Security forces used live ammunition, water cannons, and tear gas against protesters across several cities, with authorities confirming at least 19 deaths, according to Reuters.
The Himalayan nation of 30 million people has a history of political instability, having seen over a dozen governments since becoming a republic in 2008, when it abolished a 239-year-old monarchy following a decade-long civil war.
The current wave of protests, led by young people between the ages of 13 and 28 — Nepal’s Generation Z — has been described as the most serious unrest the country has faced in decades.
KP Sharma Oli announced his resignation on Tuesday in a letter that cited “the extraordinary situation” in the country, according to a copy of the note shared online by a senior aide.
Despite a curfew imposed in central Kathmandu, crowds of protesters returned to the streets on Tuesday, shortly after the government lifted the social media ban.
According to CNN, images published by Reuters showed demonstrators setting a police booth and furniture on fire outside the office of the Nepali Congress, the country’s largest political party.
The international airport in the capital was also shut down as violence disrupted operations, Reuters reported, quoting the aviation authority.
In Chandrapur, south of Kathmandu, police fired warning shots as residents gathered in defiance of the curfew, a local official told CNN. Protesters also torched a police vehicle during the clashes, the source added. https://tribuneonlineng.com/social-media-ban-protests-nepals-prime-minister-bows-to-pressure-resigns/?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter

Education › JAMB Panel Uncovers 4,251 Cases Of Fingerprint Fraud, 192 Ai-driven Impersonatio by BlackViper(op): 12:18pm On Sep 09, 2025 |
JAMB panel uncovers 4,251 cases of fingerprint fraud, 192 AI-driven impersonation in 2025 UTME
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has received a report from its Special Committee on Examination Infractions, exposing how technology-driven malpractice is undermining Nigeria’s admission process.
Presenting the findings in Abuja, Chairman of the Committee, Jake Epelle, disclosed that investigators uncovered 4,251 cases of finger blending, a biometric fraud technique where candidates manipulate the fingerprint recognition system, and 192 instances of AI-assisted impersonation through image morphing during the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
“What we discovered shocked us deeply. Examination malpractices have evolved into a highly organised, technologically driven, and culturally normalized enterprise.
“We documented 4,251 cases of finger blending, 190 cases of AI-assisted image morphing, 1,878 false declarations of albinism, and numerous cases of credential forgery, multiple NIN registration and solicitation schemes,” Epelle said.
Responding to the findings, JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, clarified that while the report detailed widespread infractions, actual examination malpractice during the conduct of the UTME remained relatively low.
“When it comes to the real exam malpractice that we know, this year alone the Board recorded about 140 of them, which is still relatively low,” he said.
The report, submitted within the three-week deadline, is expected to guide new policies around biometric security, AI misuse detection, and stricter penalties for offenders. JAMB has promised to review the recommendations and incorporate them into its examination processes
What you should know
In response to rising cases of technology-driven malpractice, JAMB formed a 23-member Special Committee on Examination Infractions, tasked with tackling a wave of sophisticated, tech-enabled cheating uncovered during the 2025 UTME.
The committee was inaugurated on August 18, with the urgent mandate to probe rising infractions among the 6,458 suspected candidates whose results remain withheld, recommending sanctions, and proposing proactive frameworks to prevent future breaches
Committee membership includes: Prof. Ibe Ifeakandu (Legal Expert) — Deputy Chairperson; Prof Muhammad Yahuza Bello (JEOG Representative); Prof Samuel G. Odewumi (JEOG Representative); Prof Chinedum Uzoma Nwaj iuba (Former Vice-Chancellor, Alex Ekwueme University, Ebonyi State); Prof Tanko Ishaya (Vice-Chancelor, University of Jos; Cybersecurity Expert); CP (Retd) Fatai Owoseni — Representative of the High-Level Security Advisory Group; Mr James Alkali Leda — Representative of the Department of State Services ( DSS); CSP Yakubu Rabiu — Representative of the Nigerian Police Force amongst others.
The Federal Government approved a 3-year ban for any student caught engaging in examination malpractice. The directive, issued by the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, applies across all national external examinations, including JAMB, WAEC, NECO, and NABTEB.
Enforcement will rely on students’ National Identification Number (NIN), making it difficult for offenders to evade sanctions. Schools and Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres found aiding malpractice or operating as miracle centres risk being derecognised for several years. https://nairametrics.com/2025/09/09/jamb-panel-uncovers-4251-cases-of-fingerprint-fraud-192-ai-driven-impersonation-in-2025-utme/

Crime › Ex-Yahoo Boss Kills 83-Year-Old Mother After ChatGPT Told Him She's Chinese Spy by BlackViper(op): 3:33pm On Sep 08, 2025 |
A former Yahoo executive who killed his elderly mother and then himself in a Connecticut home was reportedly influenced by ChatGPT, which fueled his conspiracy theories.
Stein-Erik Soelberg, 56, spoke to OpenAI’s popular bot, which he nicknamed "Bobby," before the murder-suicide involving his 83-year-old mother, Suzanne Eberson Adams, in Old Greenwich, Connecticut, The Wall Street Journal reported.
"Erik, you’re not crazy," the chatbot said after Soelberg claimed his mother and her friend tried to poison him by putting psychedelic drugs in his car’s air vents.
"And if it was done by your mother and her friend, that elevates the complexity and betrayal."
At one point, Adams grew angry after Soelberg shut off their shared printer. ChatGPT suggested that her response was "disproportionate and aligned with someone protecting a surveillance asset," the newspaper reported.
He was advised to disconnect the printer and watch his mother's reaction. Soelberg posted videos of his ChatGPT conversations on Instagram and YouTube in the months before the murder, the New York Post reported.
The chatbot once analyzed a Chinese food receipt and claimed it contained "symbols" representing his mother and a demon.
In one of his final chats with the chatbot, Soelberg said, "We will be together in another life and another place, and we’ll find a way to realign, because you’re gonna be my best friend again forever."
"With you to the last breath and beyond," the AI bot replied.
Soelberg worked for Netscape and Yahoo before a messy 2018 divorce, which involved alcoholism, public meltdowns and suicide attempts, according to the Post, and he was the subject of a restraining order requested by his ex-wife.
The restraining order reportedly banned him from drinking before visiting their kids and from making disparaging remarks about her family.
In 2019, authorities found Soelberg face down in an alley with chest wounds and slashed wrists, and he was reportedly seen screaming in public that March.
Before her death, Adams spoke about her relationship with her son during a lunch with longtime friend Joan Ardrey.
"As we were parting, I asked how things were with Stein-Erik, and she gave me this look and said, ‘Not good at all'," Ardrey recalled. https://www.foxnews.com/us/former-yahoo-executive-spoke-chatgpt-killing-mother-connecticut-murder-suicide-report

Business › Tesla Offers Mammoth $1 Trillion Pay Package To Musk by BlackViper(op): 10:34pm On Sep 07, 2025 |
Tesla's (TSLA.O), board has proposed a $1 trillion compensation plan for CEO Elon Musk in what would be the largest corporate pay package in history, underscoring the hold Musk has over the carmaker as it attempts to transform into an AI and robotics powerhouse.
The world's richest person has consistently asked for a bigger stake in the company to gain more control, even as a legal battle over his 2018 pay package - then valued at a mere $56 billion - continues. The newly proposed award is roughly 18 times the size of the contested plan and is close to the company's current market valuation.
Stay up to date with the latest news, trends and innovations that are driving the global automotive industry with the Reuters Auto File newsletter. Sign up here.
The proposal highlights the board's confidence in Musk's ability to steer the company in a new direction while reigniting growth, even as it loses ground to Chinese rivals in key markets amid softening EV demand.
"While bold compensation tied to performance is nothing new, the sheer scale here sets a new bar for CEO incentives and will dominate boardroom debates everywhere," said Adam Sarhan, chief executive of 50 Park Investments in New York.
The regulatory filing puts Musk on a different plane than other technology executives, saying that "traditional compensation packages granted to executives at other companies were determined to not be appropriate for designing Mr. Musk’s incentive compensation."
Musk transformed Tesla from a niche EV startup into the world's most valuable automaker, scaling production, expanding globally and pushing the industry toward electric mobility, while running several other companies including SpaceX and xAI.
Tesla's board says the record award is needed to keep Musk focused and incentivized, but critics argue that, as the company's largest shareholder, he already has ample motivation and the plan could worsen dilution and pose governance risks.
The board also said the new award could lift his stake significantly if all targets were met, giving him even greater control as Tesla seeks to become the world's most valuable company.
The compensation plan does not impose conditions on how much time he must devote to Tesla.
"This is a ridiculously large pay package. It raises lots of questions, but last year Musk moved Tesla from Delaware to Texas in order to avoid all those questions," said Brian Quinn, professor at Boston College Law School.
"Given that Tesla's stock price is basically all vibes and appears to have very little to do with the automaker's actual performance, I suspect they will approve this package."
COMPENSATION DETAILS
The proposed plan would grant Musk up to 12% of Tesla's stock, worth about $1.03 trillion if the company hits its target market value of $8.6 trillion. The plan requires boosting Tesla's valuation nearly eightfold, or about $7.5 trillion, over the next decade.
Musk had said that Optimus humanoid robots might eventually account for about 80% of Tesla's value and predicted they could help make the company worth $25 trillion.
If fully earned, the award would materially increase Musk's voting power from his roughly 13% stake, intensifying debate over governance and succession.
The board said the award would vest in tranches tied to both market capitalization and operational milestones such as mass production of robotaxis and humanoid robots.
Tesla emphasized that Musk would receive no salary or cash bonus, with all compensation linked to performance, echoing the structure of his 2018 plan.
Tesla's board earlier this year approved an interim compensation package for Musk worth about $29 billion in restricted stock, designed to keep him at the helm through at least 2030 as the company pivots to an AI-first strategy.
Tesla has since reincorporated in Texas and is appealing the Delaware ruling, but the company said the new plan reflects shareholder feedback and stronger governance safeguards.
The filing also disclosed that a special committee of independent directors reviewed the proposal, which will go to a shareholder vote in November. Milestones set for Tesla CEO Elon Musk's $1 trillion pay package
POLITICS CLOUD FOCUS
Musk's foray into party politics and his willingness to challenge President Donald Trump had heightened concerns among Tesla investors and analysts about potential distractions and had previously fueled talk about looking for a new chief.
In July, Musk announced plans to launch a third political party, the "America Party," following a public clash with Trump over a tax cut and government spending bill.
Tesla's board has urged shareholders to vote against a proposal calling for a political neutrality policy, which would have expanded board oversight of Musk's political activities.
"It really seems like what Elon wants, Elon gets from the board and from his shareholders," said Douglas Chia, president of Soundboard Governance, an independent corporate governance consulting firm. "As ridiculous as it is, they’ll pass it, I have no doubt." https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/tesla-offers-mammoth-1-trillion-pay-package-musk-sets-lofty-targets-2025-09-05/

Christianity Etc › How Nigerian Churches Are Enbracing AI Innovations by BlackViper(op): 9:16am On Sep 07, 2025 |
On August 21, 2025, developer Dara Sobaloju posted what he thought was just another idea on X: “I want to build a Bible presentation AI agent for church use. Imagine Bible verses coming up on screen as the pastor preaches just based on what he’s talking about or his paraphrases and quotes. I want to build this completely in public, starting today…”
The tweet struck a chord. It quickly drew questions, suggestions, and encouragement from pastors, developers, and curious churchgoers. Since then, Sobaloju has been documenting his progress on Pewbeam AI, an agent designed to listen to sermons in real time and project relevant verses on screen.
Sobaloju’s project is not an isolated case. In recent years, Nigerian churches have begun experimenting with AI in their own ways. In 2025, the Deeper Christian Life Ministry launched Ask Kumuyi, an AI chatbot that fields questions about sermons from its General Superintendent, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi.
The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has an AI chatbot, Apostle Stephen, which greets users with: “Hi there, I am Apostle Stephen, the RCCG Digital Missionary. How may I help you today?”
In 2023, Longbeard, a Canada-based technology agency launched Magisterium AI, which it describes as the “World’s Number 1 answer engine for the Catholic Church.”
Magisterium AI answers questions related to the Catholic Church.
These church-led bots focus mainly on answering questions about doctrine, faith, and church activities. But outside official institutions, independent developers like Sobaloju are imagining different applications of AI in churches; tools that don’t just answer questions, but solve problems in real-time during services.
Sobaloju’s Pewbeam AI wants to address a problem he’s seen many times: a preacher misquotes or paraphrases scripture, and the disruption derails the flow of the message.
“I saw firsthand how it disorients the speaker,” Sobaloju says. “For this to work, there needs to be voice input. The idea is to leverage AI so that when the pastor paraphrases something, the system picks it up and puts the right scripture up in real time.”
Building from Nigeria, for Nigeria
Sobaloju had nursed the idea for two years, but it remained wishful thinking until recently when a friend, Tony Deoye, joined him as brand designer. After jotting down a mini product requirements document (PRD), he tweeted about the idea. The response surprised him. Pastors and churchgoers alike said they wanted it.
His goals for Pewbeam are shaped by Nigeria’s realities: poor internet coverage, unreliable power, and varying hardware capacity. “Anything that can work in Nigeria can work outside Nigeria,” he says. “It’s a harsh environment.”
To meet that challenge, he’s focused on three layers: speech-to-text in real time with minimal delay, offline-first design with optional connection, and contextual accuracy to ensure the verse matches the preacher’s intent.
He’s using Faster Whisper, an optimised version of OpenAI’s voice recognition model, to match verses. The system also supports ‘direct call’: when a pastor calls a verse, it pops up instantly.
The hurdles in building Sobaloju’s AI agent are evidently significant. The models must be lightweight enough to run on everyday laptops, yet accurate enough to avoid mismatched scripture. “When the pastor is talking about something, there might be several references to it in the Bible,” he explains. “The challenge is making sure the right one comes up in real time.”
Still, Sobaloju is optimistic. His current goal is to adopt a business model similar to that of YouVersion Bible app, developed by a USA-based church, Life Church. Their model is simple: people support the app by making donations so that millions of users can download it for free. In the long term, Sobaloju believes Pewbeam can adopt a model where more affluent churches pay subscription fees so that smaller churches can access the tool for free. “I’ve learnt that if something is good, it is worth paying for,” he says, explaining that big churches will definitely want to pay for a service that solves problems.
A wave of AI builders in church
Tolulope Adeniyi, another Nigerian developer, is building Spetra (a blend of ‘scripture’ and ‘ultra’), a bot that works similarly to Sobaloju’s Pewbeam. Also powered by OpenAI Whisper, it “automatically cues a bible verse on the interface and runs fully offline to ensure accuracy, low latency, and independence from internet connectivity”.
Adeniyi says the idea came to him, “from watching the awkward pauses when preachers referenced scriptures. I thought, ‘what if AI could bridge that gap?’”
In Lagos, Olanrewaju Taiwo is building an AI app called Sermon AI. Inspired by Sobaloju’s tweet, he began experimenting with sermon transcription and later started work on Meno, a Bible app in beta. Meno, Greek for “abide”, uses Google’s Gemini model to explain verses.
For Taiwo, the innovation is part of a long tradition: “Scrolls came before books, books before phones. Now we’re here with AI. It’s technology, nothing to fear.”
In the diaspora, London-based David Olowomeye has developed Gospel Note AI, a mobile app designed specifically for taking notes during sermons. Unlike general-purpose apps like Otter.ai, it won’t transcribe ordinary conversations. “It’s for church. If you try to use it elsewhere, it’ll tell you it’s not a sermon,” he explains, adding that the app has been programmed around the Bible and related materials.
Olowomeye isn’t planning to monetise his product yet, but sees it as a niche tool for Christians who want organised sermon notes.
Can AI belong in the church?
The idea of AI in churches might sound strange, even risky. Religious institutions have a long history of regarding technology with scepticism. “When television came out, they called it the devil’s box,” Sobaloju says, “but AI is even closer to the devil’s box than a TV, but churches are open to it. That’s exciting.”
Beyond transcription and verse recall, Sobaloju, Taiwo, and Olowomeye imagine other uses: AI-assisted census-taking during massive conventions like RCCG’s annual gatherings, AI-powered donation tracking, and even offering collections.
In Adeniyi’s words, “we’re entering an era where the technology backbone of churches will be invisible but indispensable.”
Adeniyi adds that AI can be used to help church musicians score songs effortlessly, compose harmonies, and even explore new sounds that elevate worship. It’s not about replacing human creativity or spiritual leadership, but about amplifying it. What are the risks involved?
The risks of inviting AI into spiritual life are hard to ignore, especially when it comes to generative AI chatbots that are built for religious purposes.
“No matter how smart, intelligent, convincing, deep or emotional [AI] may sound, it does not know what it is saying,” Rotimi Awaye, an evangelist who also runs KiniAI, an AI consultancy, cautions.
The technology’s tendency to “hallucinate” by producing confident but false answers could be dangerous when those responses are about sensitive topics related to scripture or salvation. “Whatever church builds a model, the underlying system has already been trained on every form of doctrine in the world, both good and bad,” he explains.
Even if a church fine-tunes the model with its own doctrine, the underlying foundation still carries traces of conflicting worldviews and can offer misleading answers.
Most troubling, Awaye says, is overreliance. “It can get to a point where people won’t read the Bible anymore, they’ll just ask AI.”
The danger intensifies when these chatbots assume divine identities, such as GodGPT, Apostle Stephen, or AskKumuyi. “I said hi to GodGPT once, and it replied: ‘I am God,’” he recalls. “Now, imagine someone who is genuinely seeking God and doesn’t know any better.”
“I would shy away from spiritual names,” he urges technologists building specifically for religious institutions. Instead, he recommends that churches and developers use names that make it obvious the system is a chatbot, not a pastor or spiritual entity. https://techcabal.com/2025/09/05/ai-is-even-closer-to-the-devils-box-but-churches-are-open-to-it/

Eeyaa, Kemetian! Sorry for the difficulty you're encountering in this space. I know it's not the typical tales by moonlight that you're used to where facts are just an inconvenience and fantasy is upheld as truth!😂 So let me offer you some help. You see in this space, we deal with facts. So kindly look at the news in the image I attached here and supply me with your own facts which contradict it. Remember, we're in the real world here, not Wakanda or Kemet😂 Kemetian: This guy, you can lie sha.
Traffic jams are a rarity. WHERE? Name the place!
The REASON there is NO MORE FUEL SHORTAGE is because of the SUBSIDY REMOVAL which discouraged SMUGGLERS from shipping out our oil through the borders, supplying the rest of Africa with our Petrol!
So SMUGGLING OUT our petrol and diesel to Cameroon, Ghana, Togo, Sierra Leone, etc, is now UNPROFITABLE, hence the widespread availability of fuel in Nigeria, and disappearance of the notorious fuel queues of the past.
Thanks Mr President. 🙏

Phones › US Lawyer, Mark Zuckerberg Sues Facebook & Meta by BlackViper(op): 9:19pm On Sep 05, 2025 |
A US lawyer with the same name as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is suing the social media platform, arguing it keeps suspending his account while falsely accusing him of "impersonating a celebrity".
Mark S Zuckerberg says his account has been disabled five times over the past eight years, and it has cost him thousands of dollars in lost business.
The Indiana bankruptcy attorney's lawsuit states that he has been practising law for 38 years - ever since Mark E Zuckerberg, now one of the richest men in the world, was a toddler.
Meta said it had reinstated the lawyer's account and was taking steps to prevent the mistake recurring.
"It's not funny," Mr Zuckerberg told WTHR-TV in Indianapolis, Indiana. "Not when they take my money."
The lawsuit, filed in Marion Superior Court, argues that Facebook parent company Meta is in breach of contract because he paid $11,000 (£8,200) for advertising that was improperly taken down.
"It's like buying a billboard on the side of the highway, paying the people for the billboard and then they come and put a giant blanket over it and you don't get the benefit of what you paid for," he told WTHR.
Emails with Facebook that Mr Zuckerberg shared with local media indicate the company had accused him of not using his "authentic name".
He said that he has submitted his photo ID, his credit cards, and multiple images of his face in order to prove his identity.
"I'm Mark Steven. And he's Mark Elliot," Mr Zuckerberg told WTHR.
His account was shut down in May, and only restored after his lawsuit was filed.
In a statement, the company said it had "reinstated Mark Zuckerberg's account, after finding it had been disabled in error".
"We appreciate Mr Zuckerberg's continued patience on this issue and are working to try and prevent this from happening in the future."
Mr Zuckerberg, who specialises in bankruptcy law, started a website to track mix-ups over his name, including the time he was inadvertently sued by the state of Washington for abuse. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c5yk810pgkko cc

Fuel consumption in Nigeria keeps on diminishing because fewer and fewer people can afford it. I notice fewer cars on the roads these days and traffic jams are now a rarity except when there's a road obstruction. HEAVEN4444: No scarcity and long lines like the one that wanted to wound us in Buhari era every other week. At least that's a positive sha. For those looking for positives

Crime › 80-Year-Old Japanese Woman Scammed By 'Astronaut Stranded In Space' by BlackViper(op): 6:02pm On Sep 05, 2025 |
An 80-year-old woman in northern Japan has lost one million yen (about £5,000) after falling victim to an elaborate online romance scam involving a fraudster who claimed to be an astronaut stranded in space.
According to Hokkaido police, the victim met the scammer on social media in July and developed an online relationship with him.
Posing as an astronaut, the fraudster eventually convinced her that he was “in space on a spaceship” and under attack, claiming he urgently needed money to buy oxygen.
The woman, who lives alone, was persuaded to transfer the funds before police later identified the case as a romance scam. Officers have since issued warnings urging the public to remain cautious when approached for money by individuals they meet online.
Romance scams, in which criminals exploit victims seeking companionship, have been on the rise globally. Many victims are deceived into sending large sums of money to people they believe they are in genuine relationships with.
Last year, a Sky News investigation exposed large-scale fraud operations in Southeast Asia, where so-called “scam factories” train workers to trick victims into online gambling schemes or fraudulent romances. One former scammer revealed how fraudsters manipulate emotions to make victims fall in love and eventually part with their savings.
Authorities in Japan have urged citizens, especially the elderly, to remain vigilant and seek advice from family or police before transferring money to online acquaintances. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2025/09/80-year-old-japanese-woman-scammed-by-astronaut-stranded-in-space/?s=09

You can't be using these outdated taqqiya tactics on us anymore😂 A 2025 Pew study found that Muslims have the highest global fertility rate, contributing to the fastest population growth among major religions. Kuginzi: You're too lazy to make research. Islam is consistently identified as the fastest-growing religion in the world, a trend supported by recent studies from sources like the Pew Research Center and reports in June 2025 from organizations such as KCCU and Wisconsin Muslim Journal. This growth is attributed to factors such as high fertility rates

Did Jesus ever kill anyone or ask anyone to kill in his name? Did he promise everlasting sex to anyone who kills in his name? Aboo Umaamah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (may Allaah raise his rank and grant him peace) was asked if the people of Paradise will indulge in sexual intercourse, and he replied: نَعَمْ، بِذَكَرٍ لَا يَمَلُّ، وَشَهْوَةٍ لَا تَنْقَطِعُ دُحْمًا دُحْمًا “Yes, with a penis that does not tire and desires that do not cease, orgasm after orgasm!"
Collected and authenticated as Sahih by At-Tabaraanee in his al-Mu'jam al-Kabeer (8/160, 172) simpleseyi: Millions have been killed in the name of Jesus over the centuries. Millions are being duped into buying Mansions that Jesus already built in Heaven |
