Not every nation is a kingdom. Nationhood can exist conceptually even without borders. For an example in modern times see the Kurdish people. They are a nation of people who don't have a country of their own

So answer the question I asked or are you a Coward in addition to having a low IQ?
.WHO IS SOLOMON PRAYING FOR HERE? WHO ARE THESE FOREIGNERS?

1 Kings 8:41-43 (Solomon’s Dedication Prayer)

"As for the foreigner who does not belong to your people Israel but has come from a distant land because of your name—for they will hear of your great name and your mighty hand and your outstretched arm—when they come and pray toward this temple, then hear from heaven, your dwelling place. Do whatever the foreigner asks of you, so that all the peoples of the earth may know your name and fear you, as do your own people Israel, and may know that this house I have built bears your Name."

Did the 12 tribes of Israel exist as a nation before they had a kingdom? You probably don't know the answer to that question so I'll answer it for you: YES

So answer the question and stop playing hide and seek. WHO ARE THE FOREIGNERS IN1 Kings 8:41-43 (Solomon’s Dedication Prayer)?

"As for the foreigner who does not belong to your people Israel but has come from a distant land because of your name—for they will hear of your great name and your mighty hand and your outstretched arm—when they come and pray toward this temple, then hear from heaven, your dwelling place. Do whatever the foreigner asks of you, so that all the peoples of the earth may know your name and fear you, as do your own people Israel, and may know that this house I have built bears your Name."

WHO ARE THE FOREIGNERS THAT SOLOMON WAS PRAYING FOR?

Kobojunkie:
Did this United Kingdom of Israel — the people had not even reached the land of Canaan which was their promised land/nation at the time in question and the Law was to be ratified much later on — officially exist at the time that YHWH — God of Israel — gave the prophecy in Deuteronomy 28 -30? undecided

At the time of 1 Kings 8:41-43 (Solomon’s Dedication Prayer)

"As for the foreigner who does not belong to your people Israel but has come from a distant land because of your name—for they will hear of your great name and your mighty hand and your outstretched arm—when they come and pray toward this temple, then hear from heaven, your dwelling place. Do whatever the foreigner asks of you, so that all the peoples of the earth may know your name and fear you, as do your own people Israel, and may know that this house I have built bears your Name."

Did we have a United Kingdom of Israel or had they been scattered at the time Solomon said this prayer?

Take your time....

Good! You fell into my trap like the clueless buffoon I know you are!

So now that we agree that the Northern Kingdom arose LATER in time, who was King Solomon referring to here:

1 Kings 8:41-43 (Solomon’s Dedication Prayer)

"As for the foreigner who does not belong to your people Israel but has come from a distant land because of your name—for they will hear of your great name and your mighty hand and your outstretched arm—when they come and pray toward this temple, then hear from heaven, your dwelling place. Do whatever the foreigner asks of you, so that all the peoples of the earth may know your name and fear you, as do your own people Israel, and may know that this house I have built bears your Name."

This was during King Solomon's dedication of the Temple to the Lord.

So who are the foreigners that King Solomon was praying forin 1st Kings 8: 41 to 43 and asking God to hear their prayers when they come to the Temple to pray?

Let me grab my 🍿 🍿 🍿 popcorn and wait for the latest entertainment from you😁

1. That fact that Samaria was the capital city of the nation of Israel that was created after the death of Solomon(a fact I pointed out in a previous post to you... ...— DOES NOT give meaning to the expression the 10 Northern Tribes of Samaria which you included in your last post, in the same way, that the expression Jerusalem tribes of the Southern nation would also have no real meaning. undecided

2. You seem to be having a terrible time comprehending the statements relayed to you so far. Jesus Christ of Israel indeed never referred to the Gentiles as dogs because the Gentiles are not the dogs. Gentiles are Israelites whereas dogs are non-Israelites. This is the basis of this entire argument but you remain confused for reasons unknown to me. If you have yet to grasp this simple fact, then I wonder what in the world your arguing has all this while been for. undecided

So you don't even know that Samaria was the Capital City of the 10 Northern tribes which they created after they broke away from the 2 Southern tribes of Benjamin and Judah?😂 Mogbe! So this is the kind of ignorant fool that Nairaland produces?

Also, Jesus NEVER referred to Gentiles as dogs my dear abomination in human form.

You're obviously talking about Matthew 15:26.

"It is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to the dogs"

What is wrong with using a Proverb to explain a situation?

In Africa we use Proverbs all the time. If we say: "The toad does not appear in the day time," does it mean we're calling someone a toad or are we just using a Proverb to make a point?

I said it that you perditissimi are an abomination and you keep proving it every time you open your mouths to condemn yourselves

Secondly, if the term Gentile or Foreigner can apply to Jews as you state in respect of Acts 8 26 to 40 where you claim that the Ethiopian official is actually a Jew from the lost 10 tribes, then explain these Scriptures:

Isaiah 56:6-7

"And foreigners who bind themselves to the Lord to minister to him, to love the name of the Lord, and to be his servants, all who keep the Sabbath without desecrating it and who hold fast to my covenant—these I will bring to my holy mountain and give them joy in my house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations."

I eagerly await your latest manifestation of ignorance😂😂😂

Kobojunkie:
1. Jesus Christ of Israel referred to non-Israelites as dogs and warned that they had absolutely no capacity to handle that which is Holy(of YHWH, God of Israel). Your religion as well as that of the Muslims was established by the dogs, so it is no wonder that your ideas regarding even that plainly contained in the book cannot be reasonably of YHWH. undecided

2. Northern tribes of Samaria, ke? undecided

3. The clue you seek is contained in the passage which tells you that the man had gone to Jerusalem to worship... meaning the man must have been an Israelite. Israelites(of the 12 tribes)— both exiled and none— were the only ones who went to Jerusalem and were allowed into the Temple to worship. undecided

Firstly, of course you're not into deciphering Scripture because you lack knowledge since you are condemned. The Church refers to people like you and your MOOSLIME friends as perditissimi

I'm not going to explain the meaning of that word to you. LOOK IT UP😁

Secondly, if the word Gentile means dispersed members of the 10 Northern Tribes of Samaria, explain the meaning of this Scripture:
Why did the Holy Spirit do this? Take your time and read carefully because this one will give you a brain aneurysm😂

Acts 8:26-40

26 Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Go south to the road—the desert road—that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.”

27 So he started out, and on his way he met an Ethiopian eunuch, an important official in charge of all the treasury of the Kandake (which means “queen of the Ethiopians”). This man had gone to Jerusalem to worship,

28 and on his way home was sitting in his chariot reading the Book of Isaiah the prophet.

29 The Spirit told Philip, “Go to that chariot and stay near it.”

30 Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. “Do you understand what you are reading?” Philip asked.

31 “How can I,” he said, “unless someone explains it to me?” So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.

32 This is the passage of Scripture the eunuch was reading:
“He was led like a sheep to the slaughter,
and as a lamb before its shearer is silent,
so he did not open his mouth.

33 In his humiliation he was deprived of justice.
Who can speak of his descendants?
For his life was taken from the earth.” (Isaiah 53:7-cool

34 The eunuch asked Philip, “Tell me, please, who is the prophet talking about, himself or someone else?”

35 Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus.

36 As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, “Look, here is water. What can stand in the way of my being baptized?”

[37] (Some manuscripts include this verse: Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” The eunuch answered, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”)

38 And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him.

39 When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away, and the eunuch did not see him again, but went on his way rejoicing.

40 Philip, however, appeared at Azotus and traveled about, preaching the gospel in all the towns until he reached Caesarea.

Kobojunkie:
I am not into deciphering Scriptures. Rather, I try to help you realize the original message intended by the authors. undecided

Here are some facts to help you comprehend the message in that passage, not just that verse you lifted there.
⚉ In 1 Kings 12, we learn that the original nation of Israel was later on divided into two different nations by YHWH— God of Israel— with 10 of the 12 tribes of former Israel forming the main of Israel while the nation of Judah was formed by the leftover tribes— Judah & Benjamin. The capital city of the created Israel was Samaria while that of Judah was Jerusalem.
⚉ In 1 Kings 12 vs 31, because Jeroboam, King of the new Israel did not honor God's agreement, the tribe of Levi eventually moved to their sister nation of Judah— the nation is the nation known in Scripture as the Jewish nation.
⚉ The nation of Isreal was later destroyed by YHWH — God of Israel —, the people sent into exile rendering them Gentiles(they no longer lived in their homeland). This took place around 720 BC as prophesied by Prophet Isaiah, Amos, etc.
⚉ By the time that Jesus Christ of Isreal was born into the nation of Judah — a Jew of the Jewish nation called Judah— the population of Judah boasted of persons from the tribes of Judah, Benjamin, Levi, and also Samaritans(exiles from the nation of Israel i.e. some from the other 9 tribes of Israel).

Paul was a Benjamite, while Barnabas was a Levite, both of them citizens of the Jewish nation of Judah. When Paul and Barnabas told you they would then turn their preaching to the Gentiles, what they meant was that they would go to the people of the other 9 tribes of Israel — also of the family of Isreal. undecided

The Hebrew word translated as “evil” רָע (ra‘) in the King James Version of Isaiah 45:7 has two applications in the Bible.

The term can be used in the sense of moral evil, such as wickedness and sin (Matthew 12:35; Judges 3:12; Proverbs 8:13; 3 John 1:11), or it can refer to harmful natural events, calamity, misfortune, adversity, affliction, or disaster. It is in this second sense that Isaiah speaks, and his meaning is reflected in most modern Bible translations of Isaiah 45:7 (emphasis added): “I make success and create disaster” (HCSB); “I make well-being and create calamity” (ESV); “I send good times and bad times” (NLT).

The word is used in Exodus 33:4 to describe God's punishment on the Israelites for bowing down to the Golden Calf when Moses was communing with God on Mount Sinai

– "And when the people heard these evil רָע (ra‘) tidings, they mourned: and no man did put on him his ornaments."

Aa you can see, evil or רָע Refers to the troubling news of God potentially withdrawing His presence from Israel after the golden calf incident.

Antichristian2:
Isaiah 45:7: This verse states that God "forms light and creates darkness, I make peace and create evil." This passage suggests that God can use both good and evil for His purposes.

Job 1-2: This book explores the concept of God's sovereignty and permission. It depicts Satan seeking permission from God to test Job's faith. While God allows suffering and hardship, He ultimately remains in control. I can't imagine how Job's family and properties were destroyed by God's permission in a test.

Did i say you said that? You should point out any thing that looks false here cos i know when the response gets into you you start crying "Taqqiya script". They rejected Jesus just as they've been doing before with other Prophets sent to them!

Because the Word who was with God is a person within the Godhead. He is the Second Person of the Triune God.

John 1:1 to 3

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The same was in the beginning with God.

Christianity EtcRe: Jesus Answered Her, “I Was Sent Only To The Lost Sheep Of The House Of Israel". by BlackViper: 4:49pm On Mar 18, 2025
God did not create sin. It entered into creation as a result of Man's disobedience of God’s command.

Secondly, God is the moral arbiter and Judge of humanity. Even in a human court, repentance will not stop a guilty man from facing the consequences of his crimes. That standard is even more elevated when it comes to God’s Divine standards because they are Higher than anything humanity can achieve.

Before sin corrupted nature, Man was living up to God’s standards, but once he fell, it was going to take an extraordinary act of Divine compassion to reconcile man in his fallen state with God.

Ezekiel 18-20 to 22 is referring to mere mortals, not to First and Second Persons of the Trinity because God does not and cannot sin. It is simply not in His Divine Nature.

Antichristian2:
Who created man to be sinful? Who created sin in the first place? And what's the importance of killing your son (which happens to be yourself) when you can just forgive anyone who repents.

The soul who sins is the one who will die. A son will not bear the iniquity of his father, and a father will not bear the iniquity of his son. The righteousness of the righteous man will fall upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked man will fall upon him. But if the wicked man turns from all the sins he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is just and right, he will surely live; he will not die. None of the transgressions he has committed will be held against him. Because of the righteousness he has practiced, he will live. Ezekiel 18:20-22
Where exactly did I say that the Israelites attached divinity to themselves? Or is putting words into people's mouths part of your Taqqiya script?

I never said there was anything Divine about the people of Israel, just that God elevated them above all the other peoples of the Earth.

They may not look like morally righteous people anymore, but that is because for 2000 years, the overwhelming majority of them have rejected their Messiah and there are severe spiritual consequences for this act of rebellion against the Will of God.

You accused me earlier of context, in which of the verses you quoted did you include the context?

The Israelites didn't attach divinity to themselves. Though they have this racist mentality from the Bible as God's special people. But God only chooses them as far as they submit to Him alone.

That is false as i said. Jesus made a command in Matthew specifying the manner in which they should baptize people.

The disciples deviated from this command which means one of the following:

they never received the message (Matthew was a lie).
They forgot the message (and they may have forgotten so many things too).
They promoted what they wished to promote. (Agenda of the Romans).

Is this San Antonio Texas?

concretesa:
Stamped concrete is a versatile and cost-effective material that mimics the look of natural stone, brick, or even wood. The popularity of stamped concrete in San Antonio stems from its durability, aesthetic appeal, and affordability. Christ voluntarily laid down His life as an atonement for God’s wrath against the sinfulness of mankind.
John 3:16

Old Testament (Prophecy of the Suffering Servant)

Isaiah 53:4-5 –
"Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed."

This prophecy foretells the Messiah's duty to suffer and die for the sins of the people.

New Testament (Jesus’ Words About Laying Down His Life)

1. John 10:17-18 –
"The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father."

Jesus declares that it is His duty, given by the Father, to lay down His life.

2. John 15:13 –
"Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends."

This highlights the Son’s sacrificial love and His duty to die for others.

The Son obeyed the Father, thereby setting the example for us who are sons and daughters by adoption to follow.

The Second Person of the Trinity who is the Son communicates with the Father by prayer.

That doesn't make Him any less Divine. All it means is that He humbled Himself to step out of Eternity and into nature in the form of a human being as a servant and obedient Son.

Christ died because it was the Son's duty to die and be resurrected, not the Father's or the Holy Spirit.

Antichristian2:
This is even worse! So can we say Jesus died when he saw the father died?

If the father's power is the same as that of the son, then the father should have come to save humans not the son! And the son shouldn't have claimed the father is greater than him. And why is Jesus always praying to the father? Getting authority from the father? Doing the father's will? Can equal persons send each other messages where one is the sender and the other is the messenger?

Do Equal Gods worship one another? If Jesus worshipped the father, where did the father worshipped Jesus?

Jesus died! Can the father and the spirit too die? When did they die?
You should really stop doing this because you keep exposing the degree of abject ignorance you have about Scripture.

The Israelites ALWAYS acknowledged God as their Father. It is written all over the Old Testament:

1. Exodus 4:22-23 –
"Then say to Pharaoh, ‘This is what the LORD says: Israel is my firstborn son, and I told you, “Let my son go, so he may worship me.” But you refused to let him go; so I will kill your firstborn son.’”

Here, God directly refers to Israel as His "firstborn son," emphasizing their special status among the nations.

2. Deuteronomy 32:19-20 –
"The LORD saw this and rejected them because He was angered by His sons and daughters. ‘I will hide my face from them,’ He said, ‘and see what their end will be; for they are a perverse generation, children who are unfaithful.’"

God refers to the Israelites as His "sons and daughters," but also rebukes their disobedience.

3. Isaiah 1:2 –
"Hear, O heavens! Listen, O earth! For the LORD has spoken: 'I reared children and brought them up, but they have rebelled against me.'"

This passage portrays Israel as God’s children who have turned away from Him.

4. Jeremiah 3:19 –
"I myself said, ‘How gladly would I treat you like my children and give you a pleasant land, the most beautiful inheritance of any nation.’ I thought you would call me ‘Father’ and not turn away from following me."

Here, God explicitly expresses His desire for Israel to acknowledge Him as their Father.

5. Hosea 1:10 –
"Yet the Israelites will be like the sand on the seashore, which cannot be measured or counted. In the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ they will be called ‘children of the living God.’"

This passage speaks of a future restoration where Israel will once again be recognized as God's children.

The apostles were addressing Jewish audiences who were more knowledgeable about their special status in the eyes of God the Father as His adopted children, but were ignorant about the status of Christ as their Messiah because their religious teachers like the Rabbis and Pharisees had given them false teachings about Christ.

It was important for the Christological knowledge of these Jewish converts to be firmly established in accordance with their knowledge of the Old Testament which they already had, unlike the gentile pagan nations. That is why Paul and Peter concentrated on the One issue for which there was a deficiency in their Spiritual knowledge and that is their ignorance of the Divinity of Christ as the Second Person of the Triune God.

Even if they had an understanding of God the father (which i doubt any Jew recognises the word God the father) the disciples should have followed Jesus's command to baptise the people in the name of the father, son and the holy spirit. It is an express command which they didn't obey!

This casts an aspersion on the book of Matthew. Did that event actually happened? Did Jesus really tell them to baptise in the name of the trinity? Will the disciples disobey Jesus if he truly had said that?

Imagine ignoring all the verses leading up to John 5:30 because they destroy your lying narrative!😂

John 5:19

Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of His own accord, but only what He sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise.

In the very words of Christ, His power and authority as the Son is EXACTLY the same as His Father's.

An ordinary creation cannot claim to have the same authority and power as God does.

Jesus Christ can do so because HE IS GOD!

Antichristian2:
This is great. Who gave him the authority? His God!

In John 5:30, Jesus states, "I can of myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and my judgment is just, because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me."

So Jesus has no authority of himself.
In Acts 2:38 and Acts 10:47, Peter and Paul were speaking to faithful Jewish people who already had an understanding of God the Father and God’s Spirit.

The part of the equation that they were missing was Jesus, the Son of God—and without Jesus, they could not be saved (Acts 4:12).

In presenting the gospel to the Jews, Peter commands them to be baptized in Jesus’ name; that is, to exercise faith in the One they had crucified.

They had already professed the Father and the Spirit, but they also needed to profess the Son. Those who received the gospel that day devoted themselves to the lordship of Jesus. They no longer rejected Him but acknowledged Him as their Messiah and only Hope for salvation.

It was only through accepting Christ as their Savior that the full trinitarian salvation commanded by Christ when He said: Baptise In the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit could be achieved by these Jews.

Secondly, Jesus told them to baptise people in the name of the father , son and holy spirit. But the disciples baptised in the name of Jesus only in Acts below:

Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls. Acts 2:38-41:

“Can anyone withhold water for baptizing these people, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?” And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to remain for some days. Acts 10:47-48:

And Paul said, “John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, Jesus.” On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Acts 19:4-5:

You can see everything has been changed!
And finally the nations of Israel is spread over so it is understandable that this is what Jesus meant. Jesus didn't lie that was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.

Matthew 28:16-20

Jesus came up and spoke to them. He said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, make disciples of all the nations; baptise them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teach them to observe all the commands I gave you.

Antichristian2:
New International Version
He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”

New Living Translation
Then Jesus said to the woman, “I was sent only to help God’s lost sheep—the people of Israel.”

President Bola Tinubu on Thursday said he took over a Nigeria that was in the throes of bankruptcy after eight years of his predecessor Muhammadu Buhari.

“Nigeria would have been bankrupt if we had not taken the actions that we took, and we had to prevent the economy’s collapse,” Mr Tinubu said during a meeting with a group of supporters at the State House in Abuja.

Mr Buhari was the first politician to be elected president on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, serving two terms of four years each from 2015 to 2023. He handed power to Mr Tinubu on the
same platform, arguing during his last days in office
that he had turned the nation’s socio-economic conditions around during his tenure.

Both leaders remained key political allies, and Mr Buhari issued a statement earlier on Thursday reiterating his loyalty to Mr Tinubu and the APC, following rumours that the former president was considering joining a budding alliance to defeat Mr Tinubu at the ballot in 2027.

It was unclear how Mr Tinubu’s statement would be received by Mr Buhari, who now lives in Kaduna following his exit from power. A spokesman for the former president did not immediately return a request seeking comments about his successor’s statement Thursday night.

A State House press release said the president sought to assuage citizens that conditions would continue to improve after inflation showed signs of cooling in recent months.

Read the full press statement as issued by the president’s spokesman Bayo Onanuga below:

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu articulated on Thursday the rationale behind his administration’s economic reforms, saying the primary motive was protecting the interests of future generations.
.
“For 50 years, Nigeria was spending money of generations yet unborn and servicing the West coast of our subregion with fuel. It was getting difficult to plan for our children’s future,” he said.

He made these remarks at the State House in Abuja while receiving a delegation of former National Assembly colleagues from the aborted Third Republic, during which he served as a Senator representing Lagos West.

The President highlighted the challenges faced at the beginning of his administration, especially economic and social issues, and expressed his gratitude for the delegation’s support in addressing these difficulties:

“We faced serious headwinds when I took over, very challenging times. Nigeria would have been bankrupt if we had not taken the actions that we took, and we had to prevent the economy’s collapse.

President Tinubu declared that the administration had been able to stem the tide and expressed appreciation to Nigerians for their collective support in turning things around.

“Today, we are sitting pretty on a good foundation. We have reversed the problem; the Exchange rate is stabilising. Food prices are coming down, especially during Ramadan. We will have light at the end of the tunnel.”

He said firm adherence to democratic tenets is the best route to economic, social, and political development.

“I am happy that you are holding to your belief in democracy. I thank you for keeping faith and remembering how we started. Some people missed the ball.

“Some leadership failed, but we kept the faith with our democratic beliefs and freedom and the right to aspire to the highest office in the land. I am benefitting from it.”

Senator Emmanuel Chiedoziem Nwaka, who spoke on behalf of the group, expressed his delight at some of the programmes that the Tinubu administration had implemented, especially the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) and the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP) and at what the two organisations were offering Nigerians.

“I appreciate you for what you are giving to students because the student population is the largest demographic in the country. I’ve spoken with many of them, and many have benefited from it.

“And the next one is the CREDICORP. That’s a major way of fighting corruption. You see a young man, you come out of school, you want to buy a car, you have to put down cash, you want to buy a house, and you are not married, but with the CREDICORP, you can get things done. I’m following their activities; we are delighted,” he said.

Other members of the delegation were Sen. Bako Aufara Musa, Hon. Terwase Orbunde, Hon. Wasiu Logun, Hon. Amina Aliyu, High Chief Obi Anoliefo and Hon. Eze Nwauwa.

PoliticsAtiku Says Suspension Of Senator Natasha Is Suppression Of Women's Rights by BlackViper(op): 1:48am On Mar 09, 2025
Former Nigerian Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has condemned the recent suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, describing it as an attack on fairness, representation, and gender inclusivity in Nigerian politics.

In a statement issued on Saturday to commemorate International Women’s Day, Atiku expressed concerns over the continued suppression of women in leadership, emphasising the need for their full participation in governance.

However, he lamented that despite Nigeria’s democratic framework, women in leadership still face deliberate efforts to silence them.

Referring to Akpoti-Uduaghan’s suspension, he described it as a clear example of such suppression.

Atiku reaffirmed his commitment to the advancement and protection of women’s rights in Nigeria, stating that national progress depends on the empowerment of women.

The statement partly reads, "On this special occasion of International Women’s Day, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the resilient, hardworking, and courageous women of Nigeria.

"Women are the backbone of our society and play indispensable roles in our homes, workplaces, and governance. Their contributions to nation-building are immeasurable, and today, we celebrate their strength, determination, and achievements

"However, it is deeply concerning that in a democratic society, attempts are still being made to silence the voices of women in leadership. The recent suspension of Senator @NatashaAkpoti is an unfortunate example of such suppression, which undermines the principles of fairness, representation, and gender inclusivity."

"Women must be encouraged and empowered to participate fully in governance, not stifled when they dare to lead.

On this International Women’s Day 2025, I reaffirm my commitment to the advancement, inclusion, and protection of women’s rights in Nigeria. A nation can only progress when its women are given the space and opportunity to thrive."

SportsBarcelona Game Postponed After Team Doctor Suddenly Died by BlackViper(op): 10:00pm On Mar 08, 2025
BARCELONA, Spain -- Barcelona's LaLiga game against Osasuna on Saturday was postponed 20 minutes before kickoff following the unexpected death of first-team doctor Carles Miñarro García.

Miñarro García joined Barça in 2017 and had been working with the first team since last summer having previously worked with the futsal side.

"Barcelona are deeply saddened to announce the passing of first-team doctor Carles Miñarro García this evening," the club said in a statement.

"For this reason, the match against Osasuna has been postponed and will be rearranged for a later date.

The Barcelona board of directors and all staff extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time."

Sources told ESPN that Barça players learned of Miñarro García's death when they arrived at the Olympic Stadium for the fixture against Osasuna.

The team unanimously agreed that the best thing to do was request the postponement of the match, to which LaLiga agreed.

"Always in our hearts, Doc," midfielder Gavi posted on Instagram. "We will miss you a lot."

"I still can't believe it," teammate Pedri wrote. "Sending a huge hug to all of Carles' family and friends."

Defender Ronald Araújo said on X: "It's hard to believe. Rest in peace, Doc. Sending strength to Carles' family and friends. May God strengthen your hearts in this difficult time

Most supporters were already inside the stadium when the decision was taken to call the game off.

At first there was uncertainty as the players didn't come out to warm up, with an announcement arriving 20 minutes before the game was due to begin that it had been suspended.

The same announcement then followed in English and a short statement was put up on the big screen explaining why the game would not go ahead on Saturday, with fans respectfully making their way to the exits

The game will take place at a later date yet to be confirmed.

Barcelona currently lead LaLiga, one point clear of Atlético Madrid and three ahead of Real Madrid.
