Threebear: Your opinion does not matter here. Everyone knows how British accent sound, have you ever heard Adele speak or Kate Winslet or every cast from Merlin cept for Morgana and Colin Morgan. How can you say this woman screaming yoo man speaks with a British accent. If you have ever been to all parts of Britain, you will know she speaks with a British accent. There are so many types and variants of British accent. Same as in Nigeria, South Western part has a different accent from north western even if we are all speaking English. When I found out that quite a number of English people can't speak proper English I was so amazed. |

Definitely not Igbo culture. That her land is for her last born son to inherit. |

AngelicBeing: To even think that billions have been budgeted yearly for effective power distribution for the last 20 years or more and yet the masses cannot enjoy 24 hours power supply is sad and pathetic Does your car run for 24 hours? Don't you take it for servicing before it breaks down? Allow them service the transmission lines. This outage is not even coming from distribution side, it's transmission but the company has to do the announcement. |

Patented: This is fishy journalism with embellished facts
The real story: There will be a planned outage at the Ikeja West Transmission Station which will affect the Oworo 132KV Lines 1 & 2. The outage will commence on 6th Feb and end on 21st Feb, 2017. This is to enable technicians carry out some protective maintenance work. During this time, Oworo 132KV Line will be diverted to Akangba Transmission Station. However this will result in unavoidable load shedding at Oworo Transmission Station. Some of the affected areas are Gbagada, Anthony, Ogudu, Ladi Lak, Pedro, Oworo, Ifako and environs. We apologize for all inconveniences and ask our customers to kindly bear with us.
http://www.ikejaelectric.com/planned-outage-ikeja-westoworo-transmission-stations/ This is a different planned outage. That one has come and gone. This one is for a different area. |

" NBET, as you know, is the government’s own company. That is the bulk electricity trader who buys power from the Gencos. The liquidity problems that have characterised the market have affected NBET’s ability to deliver on its PPP obligations through the Gencos."
- Who is NBET? - Who owns Gencos?
Cant the FG take over NBET & Gencos?
Where is lalasticlala now NBET is a special purpose vehicle for govt to deal with both the GENCOs and the DISCOs as part of the Power Purchase Agreement amongst all. |

Awww. Reminds me of my situation so many years back. Had just started a new job and my baby was 11 months when I got pregnant. It turned out to be another Csection although the doctor gave us the option to choose.
Even now, I find it hard to mention their ages but the kids are like twins. Find out what your workplace says about people that need to take maternity leave so close. You will be fine.
Congratulations on your soon to be bundle of joy. |

What @Soonest said has made me remember a story. Let me share a scene that I witnessed on my way back from work.
I recently resumed in a new job which was very fantastic but very far from my house. My baby is now over 6 months so was thinking of putting him in a creche near my office. I fought everyone about it because I still wanted to breastfeed.
My second day back, we were on Anthony bridge, going to the island and there was mega traffic. I observed a young woman driving a corolla and she had her Mum/MIL at the back with her baby in a car seat. All those bad boys came to her window and were threatening her, one even said he will break the glass were the baby was and collect the baby. She jejely gave them her wallet and phones. There was no place to go because she was between 2 trucks and everywhere was tight.
I have been analysing the issue and made up my mind not to take my baby anymore that the road was too treturous and far. So we need to also be very careful. Can imagine the fear that young mother had that day. |

@ dtush, that was a close shave. I thank God that nothing happened to her and the crooks were caught. What a scary experience.
However, I do not think the solution is to stop working. You could get your younger brother to go with the nanny to drop and pick up your dd on his way to and from school. Tell your gateman not to allow any one at all except you or your husband calls to let the person in. Vet any nanny you get. It's better to get someone that you or someone close to you knows to their family. |

favouredmumsy: Pleases mamas my 7 weeks baby is always yawning right from when I gave birth to him, please have anyone experience this before and what should i do about it. Him eat and sleep well. From my experience, yawning in babies could have 3 causes. The easiest to eliminate is if you were on any strong painkillers. Once the effect wears off, the yawning reduces. Another is if your baby has been awake too long, it could lead to a cranky baby. The 3rd is if your baby is overstimulated, maybe she is watching too much TV, too many toys especially those singing and moving mobiles. The last 2 are not so easy to deal with as you might not know when to slow down or stop. My own solution has always been to put the baby on a schedule. They kind of get used to what is to come next. And you can moderate it as they grow older. But for the first 2 months, no TV at all and very few 'noisy' toys. |

AlphaHandMaiden: I started from 3 months, although it was because i just felt a bit overwhelmed with being a new mom, and i had like 10 packs of disposables as gifts so decided to use those first. You can use them from birth, and there are even tiny sizes for pre-term babies or newborns with low birth weights.
There are many cloth diaper brands out there, there are popular US and UK brands which are what i have but Wamby is practically the only Naija brand that seem to know what they are talking about regarding modern cloth diapers. i.e they are not just selling for selling sake, they genuinely know their products and what works, with tips and ideas on how to use cloth diapers.
Cloth diapers all come in different styles for instance All-in-ones, All-in-twos, pocket diapers, Fitted diapers, flats, inserts, covers/ wraps... etc etc but in essence you get an absorbent part and a waterproof part.
For the one(s) you have, post a few pictures and i will know what type it is before i can tell you how it works. Thanks a lot. I am not at home but i browsed the web and was able to come up with a picture that looks like it. Is there a website or a writeup that i can read up about the different types of cloth diapers so that i can make up my mind? I want to go cloth. And if you know good UK brands that are not too pricey, let me know as well. |
