quentin06:Transmission is 100% govt. They can only lease it to a mgt firm but can't sell it for now because of the ramifications to other parts of the value chain. |
okechuks22: quentin06:Shows that you guys don't even know the problem. How will you be able to proffer a solution? It's transmission that went offline. It is owned by govt. |
Finish the story. |
Mindfulness:No more drive. Everything's gone. But I have made my choice to be grateful for what I have and to ensure I replicate it in my kid's lives. They are boys so no stopping them. ![]() |
cruchenuti:Better life should be about me. . Be selfish about life and reach for the stars. Career makes me happy. There is nothing better than being told that you were the best in whatever work stunt going on. It's the reason I can leave my house by 6am and return by 8pm thru traffic. Having to soft pedal is not my thing. But the kids didn't asked to be born so I have to make sure they excel way more than I can. I just hope I don't start living my life through them. |
Seems like he wants to say "operation blow your trumpet" not "oppression blow your trumpet". Blow your trumpet means so many things o. Don't know why it was the 'bad' one that came to my mind. |
I'm sure people will still blame DISCOs for this system collapse. |
frenzyduchess:That one na eczema. Vitiligo has no cure. |
Why are they burying her in a bush? |
We have insecticides to keep the insect population under wraps. We also kill rats and other such rodents. Snake is food to some animals which include humans. |
A quarter of the Imo state indigenes are from other Igbo states. People looking for free university education. |
Don't know the name of this animal but bush babies are not spiritual. They are normal animals called Galagos. They are nocturnal animals, have a loud cry and very good eyesight. They are common in Africa. Let's at least try to be educating ourselves and divesting as well of all these old wives fables. |
I am so sad. The old man cried at the end. It's so not fair. It seems like it is a sin to be old and not rich in this country. That's why i want to leave. |
Maduawuchukwu:Not really. Based on my present portfolio, i am privy to a lot of the dealings with several DISCOs. |
bareal:Their cost of the electricity produced (gross cost alone) is also in billions. |
bareal:BEDC is not all the DISCOs. And i seriously disagree with what your top engineer has told you. He sounds like one of the pained PHCN staff that have their alternative sources of livelihood being cut short. Even if he is the Business Manager of Warri Business Unit, i doubt he is competent enough to give such feedback. BEDC that has spent money in creating relief feeders and purchasing new MW transformers. Remember that it is a value chain with TCN being the major bottleneck. TCN has to make power available to an injection substation from which the DISCOs then distribute to our individual houses through a network of feeders and transformers. Where they add value is in creating additional feeders to relieve the overloaded feeders, repairing/replacing faulty transformers, ensuring a fair and reasonable measurement of energy consumed and providing multiple ways to make seamless and stress free payments. In it's simplest form. But a situation where people will gladly bypass and are happy to let others pay for the energy they consumed whilst screaming and swearing at the DISCOs for not providing 24hrs light is not also healthy for the country. |
Maduawuchukwu:First off, govt should pay what it's ministries and security outfits are owing. Then, TCN through NBET (govt owned institutions) should not be using exchange rate of N400 to bill the DISCOs when it was N198 that was the agreed price at the last tariff increase. Then they can modify as they go along. |
Maduawuchukwu:First off, there is no profit. Most of the serious ones actually have capacity to do so and are doing it. However, remember that they came in with certain assumptions which were based on the false information govt gave them. Information that ultimately means that the DISCOs were overvalued and have now been made illiquid. Let me use a small example. Imagine that you want to buy 100 oranges for resale. You agree the price of N100 for all with the promise to be able to resell at N150 which is mutually agreed. You also have an extra N70 that you would like to use to touch up the shop to further enhance future sales. However, you received 90 good oranges that could be resold and then you cannot sell at N150 but N90 because people will be upset. The seller also holds on to 10 oranges for his younger brother with a promise to pay the sales price later. The cycle continues. No matter how much extra you have, it cannot even cover the cost of the oranges and you will keep digging deeper into a hole. You do not want to walk away because it will mean losing all your money as against the premise that you will one day be able to recover all your money and start making gains. I have tried to simplify the issues without giving away too much. Govt should first pay what they owe. Inflation in Nigeria is in double digits and the DISCOs are not immune. |
Maduawuchukwu:He can't because it is the govt that has violated their part of the contract. The discos bought with the agreement that the tariff would be cost reflective. The gas producers have been increasing their prices at triple what was agreed and the discos have yo bear that cost. That leaves little or no money for the infrastructure development they are meant to do. Govt is also the highest debtors to discos which include military formations and other ministries to the tune of billions. |
davodyguy:Sorry, you didn't include other direct costs like costs of maintenance, lease payments deductions and then payments to the partners (owners). The money is not that much. |
deejay102:They are different. A marriage license is to hold the wedding ceremony, and then you have to file a marriage certificate in the appropriate registry. |
When I wanted to get married, they told me the same thing. Although it was about N45k or thereabouts in 2010. The list of requirements were cumbersome so we didn't bother and just got our licence in UK. |

Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode has ordered the state’s Vehicle Inspection Officers, VIOs out of Lagos roads with immediate effect. PM News gathered that since last week, the VIOs, under the Vehicle Inspection Service, VIS, had left all Lagos roads on the order of Ambode. Government sources said the governor ordered the VIOs out of the road for retraining as a result of public complaints and in a bid to reposition the outfit. A source told PM News that the story carried by a national daily recently which alleged that the VIOs burnt the vehicle of a motorist arrested had not gone down well with the governor who would not tolerate unruliness in his administration. Asides this, some complaints about supposed high-handedness and over-zealousness of some VIOs were other reasons the governor ordered them out of Lagos roads until further instruction. A VIO source told our reporter that the officers had been ordered by the governor to go on compulsory retraining on the use of modern technology in order to be humane in dealing with the public. It was gathered that the no training had been arranged since the officers left the road last week as they were still watching and waiting for the next action to be taken by the state government on the matter. A top government source who does not want his name mentioned said the order by the governor for VIOs to vacate Lagos road was unconnected with the alleged report of assaulting a motorist and burning the vehicle. A VIO source alleged that the driver lied against the officers as the agency could not have carried out such debilitating action. A source added that the Ministry of Transportation was working frantically to arrange training for VIOs so that they could get back on the road soonest, but that for now, they would be off the road on the order of the governor. The state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Steve Ayorinde, in his reaction said: “The truth is the transport ministry is undergoing restructuring, including the VIO. The commissioner for transportation had made some recommendations, which he will present at the State Executive Council meeting and things can move forward from there. “But we all believed that the VIO activities should be technologically driven.” https://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2017/05/08/ambode-orders-vios-lagos-roads/

What's their issue with his passport? Can't he get a new passport before the old one expires? If he has a visa on the old one must he transfer it to the new one? |
I subscribe to this. Start another genealogy. Our forefathers bore the names of their fathers. Wonder why they stopped. |
Itissettled3:I had same experience. I felt scammed. |
oamronnie:Let me encourage you. My first son was born at 35 weeks exact. My water broke the day before for no reason. Went to the hospital and they told me that he will be born that day. He was born through CS because he was breech and was born at 2.1kg. He seemed tiny and had issues with latching on. But if you see him now, you will never believe it. He is the smartest and tallest in his class. No one will ever believe he was a preemie. |
KAG:Next time, when giving out your iv, tell them that they should not invite anyone else as 1 card admits one. And that there will be bouncers. It's Nigeria, you can't excape it. |
