Sports › Re: Super Eagles Land In Ismailia For 2019 AFCON by Blankstare(m): 11:33am On Jun 10, 2019 |
Princedapace: Hi bro, most of u use UEFA as the standard. African football is still developing and needs this two years interval to be maintained for countries to build infrastructures. If not for Afcon, many countries like Angola and Garbon wouldn't have built standard stadiums.
European football has already advanced, pls when u judge Africa football, do not judge it from the eyes of the European football u watch week in and week out, judge from the perspective of a developing continent with so many problems.
The same way I hear people say we need to be playing caf champions league in one leg final. Lol. Simply becus UEFA is like that but these people forget that Europe is already a developed continent, and smaller in size.
People can afford to travel with ease in Europe unlike in Africa and Asia. A one leg caf champions league final will be played in an empty stadium. Caf tried it and that was what happened. Why?
Millions of Africans can't afford to travel. How much are Africans earning sef? Africa is extremely large and transportation is not in top condition. Africa still has many security issues. So, pls while u judge African football, understand that the continent has so many problems that are none football related but affects football badly. I understand you sir, football is an allied product which stimulate local economic tourism,my grouse Is with the managers of African football..I have been watching AFCON since 1994, CAF operations haven't change a bit. |

It's high time this AFCON tournament be stage every four years with 24 countries contending inorder to make it competitive and interesting. African football is proliferated already. |

thinkdip: Saraki is good for this modern age, his kind of politics carries the 24th century mark...not the babasope politics Marchiavellian politics is his style, not suitable for the century as you alluded,we live in informed times, there's need to carry everyone along. Saraki style of politics is 'I before everyone' . He lost out because he was deluded,he left our people pauperized here and aiming for what we did not ask him to in Abuja...his case is a lesson for all. A Good man with bad intentions. |

festacman: If there is a classic illustration of "power belongs to the people", Kwara State citizens' Otoge phenomenon that swept Olusola Saraki political dynasty/Bukola Saraki's political shenanigans out of power aptly represents that. I tell ya, nothing short of. Both the strategies, effort, campaign funds were all from the masses... I pray AA delivers in the shortest possible time populist project and actions that will be beneficial to all. |

Deadlytruth: And after Jonathan enjoyed so much Southern unity and got to power courtesy of it, he turned his back on Southern unity and began to lick the arses of the Hausafulani Core North to the detriment of the South and even the middle Belt which joined the South in voting massively for him. He released N500bn through Wike for the building of unsolicited building of Almajiri schools in the Hausafulani Core States while children in Nigeria Delta states schools received classes under trees, ordered the release of N100bn for the establishment of grazing reserves for Fulani Herdsmen but could not order the release of a kobo as incentives to Southern farmers or livestock rearers in the South, he sacked Southerners from positions and replaced them with Hausafulanis...e.g the case of his own brother Owoye Azazi and that of Festus Odumegwu; he never showed any genuine commitment to the call for restructuring aimed at cutting Northerners' hands of the SS oil wealth, he was more given to alcohol, etc. So do you think that Northerners are our problem in all honesty? The system was bigger than GEJ,there was nothing he could do differently. |
