Hello Everyone, sorry for the absence. Shadow is now with Prodeegee. My mom has moved into a smaller place and can't keep shadow in the new place. Pro updates me with pictures of shadow constantly. I know my boy is in good hands plus he has other dogs his size to play with now There's no day that I don't think of Shadow. Even my son constantly asks about him. Whenever we are out and we see a German Shepherd he always says that's "Shadowdog". I'll put up a few pictures he sent me. By God's grace I will be in Nigeria Christmas time. I can't wait to see that destroyer

I'm so so sad and very disturbed. Stella and Rubbie are very sick and I simply don't know what to do. Started up with Stella, she started throwing up all through the night. Next thing she started drooling all over, barely able to stand on her feet, with constant screams of meow NON STOP!!!

I'm been awake virtually all through the night, totally lost on what to do.

Check on a vet in the early hours of the morning only to find out THEY DONT TREAT CATS? Gosh!!! The lady was practically scared of cats, even had the guts to ask me who brings cats to vet? IMAGINE?.
I had to cancel my day's planned activities to observe the her. Lo and Behold, Rubbie started throwing up too. (I was conscious enough to separate the two cats because I don't know what happening).
Now I have two cats battling for their lifes and I am totally in tears. I can't afford to lose my kittens.

First Aid Treatment given so far: Force Palm oil down their throat. And constantly giving them water to hydrate them.

Hello, hope your cats are better now. Like someone said cats are very resilient that's why they say cats have 9 lives. Just incase they are still down you can try activated charcoal which you should be able to get from any pharmacy. From what you described maybe they both ate something poisonous. The activated charcoal will absorb any poisons in their system. The dosage obviously should be low because they are still kittens. You'll probably have to mix it with water and use a syringe to force it down their throats. Don't give any milk products because it will only upset their tummy. Most cats are actually lactose intolerant and milk gives them mild diarrhea. ORS will also help rehydrate them if they are not eating or drinking. Thank goodness you checked on her when you did. I had a cat who killed a snake once. I'm really glad to see people keeping cats as pets now. I love both cats and dogs equally

Having cats and dogs I've given my cats/kittens dog food(can food and dry food) and my dogs/puppies cat food(can and dry). It has never affected them in any way. There were days that I didn't have any cat food at home so I gave them dog food and vice versa. In my opinion it's all the same. I've had cats and dogs living together for a very long time eating each others food without any problems. So don't worry too much. Whatever is available is fine.

I've finally found a twin for my cat. They look so much alike.
Most cats are actually lactose intolerance that probably why the milk is upsetting your kittens tummy. If you want to give it milk you can either buy puppy milk from any pet store or make the milk very thin. Also you can give it can dog food. Try puppy food since its mashed. Just put a little in the mouth. I'm sure after tasting it the kitten will slurp it up(hopefully). It's not always easy finding cat food in Nigeria that's why used to give my cats dog food. Plus having dogs and cats I can't be buying separate food for them.

Woke up this morning to these lovely pictures of my boy!!! Thanks Prodeegee for taking these pictures. I can't even describe how much I miss this dog. In my eyes he's the most handsome dog Ever!! Mom is really doing a wonderful job taking care of him and puppydog. Prodeegee says he's still as active and confident as ever.
Shadow has definitely matured into a very handsome young man.

Right now he's been fed dry food mixed with fish. He used to be on chicken back and necks previously but sourcing the chicken has been a problem

GUESS WHO'S BACK!!!!
Yay!!!!! I'm back for the holidays and I must say I've been so looking forward to seeing my Shadow. I was literally counting the days until I came back home.
After such an exhausting and the worst flight ever I was so tired but still eager to see how shadow would react to seeing me after 6 months. I had heard that he had become more aggressive(I'll talk about this later) and I was a bit cautious because I didn't want to just assume that everything would be all dandy. So after we got in, I went to see him...
The first thing he did was he stood up and looked at me. I stood still and then I called his name in a way only I call him. As soon as he heard that he went totally berserk he just started jumping, licking my face and giving me his famous bear hugs. (prodeegee knows all about shadows bear hugs). It was such an amazing feeling seeing him once again and getting that kind of welcome from him.
I must say in 6 months he has really matured into the most handsome dog. And he is HUGE!!! When I saw him I was like woah!!! This dog is huge!!! My mom has definitely been doing an excellent job taking care of him. He gets walked 3/4 times a week. 1 hour (30 minutes jogging and 30 minutes walking). He has definitely built him very good muscle mass. He's just the way I like him,trim and fit. I know a lot of people like their dogs to be fat and bulky but not me. I've always wanted shadow to be fit and this is exactly how he is. I really have to give it to my mom, she has really taken excellent care of my big boy and I am so happy.
She recently moved to a new place and the compound isn't as big but he still has space to run around and play. And his new thing is he loves chasing lizards. He is now Shadow the lizard chaser

Please don't beat your dog because of poop. My dog (GSD) poops big poo as well but that's just how it is. I've never gotten angry at that. And I am the one that cleans up after him. It's part of per ownership. I did notice that when I started feeding only chicken and beef scraps the poo wasn't as bulky as dry food and it didn't smell as bad. He is trained to poo in a certain spot so it makes it easier for me. I would suggest taking your dog for walks around the time you know he is likely to poo so he can do his business outside. If you practice scheduled feeding it will make it more predictable for you. Your boy is a handsome fella

Shadow and the gang

It's Hard to Say Goodbye

Sadly I will be relocating and my time with Shadow and the gang has come to an end(kind of). I've had dogs and cats all my life and they have all been special and unique in their own ways but Shadow truly has been a very different experience for me. I've never had any dog as hyper, smart and funny as he. I made a little video of Shadow but i dont know how to post videos here. Thankfully my mom has accepted to take care of shadow and the gang. I know they will be in good hands and mom will definitely spoil them rotten. Hopefully I'll be visiting often and get to see my big baby once in a while. Gosh I will miss them all a lot.

I've been so busy lately haven't had time to update. The music video is finally out. I will post the link here. It's a really catchy song actually Even though I was a bit disappointed that shadows clip was just like 2 seconds but still it was nice seeing his debut.

Yes cats can carry the toxoplasma gondii but not all cats carry it. I've had cats all my life and never had any health isuues. Infact do you know that you can become immune to toxoplasmosis by owning a cat. Plus being roach free and rat free in my house is an added advantage of having cats around me. All those beliefs that cats are witches blablabla is just funny to me. You can only be affected by what you believe.

Not exactly, my cats because they were raised with dogs get along with any dog as long as the dog isnt too hyper(shadow). They get along fine with my two other dogs which they weren't raised with. With Shadow its more like they just tolerate him because hes to hyper but still once its food time they all eat together.
