Jonathan, Shagari, Yar Adua are the weakest leaders this country has ever had

Unfortunately, I was born a year after Buhari left power and cannot give firsthand witness to the uniqueness of their leadership. But from historical facts from people like you who have expressed that Nigeria was at its best during that short period, I remain a avid admirer of Buhari. I believe that despite his age, he would be able to give Nigeria the institutions we require to grow as a country, else this democracy would continue to remain a facade that would work only for 10% of the population. As for me, I see Buhari as Nigeria's only hope, else we head to nowhere. Lets vote him in next week.

Big question for you: Why are you attributing all Jonathan's successes to Yar Adua?? Why wasn't Yar Adua able to complete any of these things I mentioned. Remember, Yar Adua stayed 3 years while Jonathan has been there for just 9 months.

Answer:

Yar Adua was in bad health and dying. He initiated the steps but his health couldnt help him finish it. That's what we get from the ill options pdp gives us. Dont tell me about Fuel scarcity cos Jonathan's only been in power for less than a year and in both Yar Adua and Obj's rule, there were periods when we had 2 years without fuel scarcity.

Now you tell me, adding 20% to what was someone had already given 80% to, is that TERRIFIC? Anybody can do that

Nice analysis but I have some response for you

1. Electricity - You're wrong. Electricity is not at its highest so far in Nigeria's history. We still have a long way to go. Our electrical megawatts production has not increased in any way. Just wait till election is over and your votes have been sold. Lets see how better things would alleviate. He's chosen to be the minister of power, still I see nothing terrific in the past 11 months. He's promised stable electricity within 2 years. Last time hI heard him say 4 years. Pretty indecisive for me.

2. Electoral Reforms - What's so difficult in holding a credible elections in Nigeria that you have to attribute so much praise to this man. Electoral reforms was a project of the late Yar Adua, who admitted the flaw in the electoral system and promised reforms. Now because a man is late, you have refused to give him his glory? Jega's appointment was based on recommendation from the international community. For the record, this is not the freest and fairest election Nigeria has ever had. How come there's been accusation of bribe-rigging in many states and results in Bayelsa state not yet out because of the grave violence there. I'll not emphasie on this if I were you.

3. Niger Delta - Again, I insist you give a man his glory even if he's belated. The Niger Delta problem resolution was an initiative of Yar Adua. Jonathan's simply inheriting it. Has there been any unique thing he did about the Niger Delta during his administration? This is also pointless. By the way why did Jonathan absolve MEND from blame on the 50th anniversary bombings?

Security situation is alarming in Nigeria. Jos is on a powderkeg. Any strong initiatives made by this man to make this issues any better? Still looking to be impressed about this man.

where u guys actually expecting much performance from CPC at the national assembly or even gubernatorial level? These results is what I  expected.  Though I have fully shifted my support from CPC back to GEJ camp, but I still think is too early to write them(CPC) off at the presidencial level. Anything can still happen, these abokis cant be trusted at all, becos they see everything from the religious/region/ethnic perspective.

U wont be missed. CPC doesnt needs support of weak-hearted men.

I've noticed that most people have been hoodwinked. In everything I do, I have always yearned for the best but it is a pity that Nigerians have settle for mediocrity. I wonder why there's so much rave about Jonathan. The fact's that anybody can be "Jonathan". There's really nothing terrific in his abilities or his handling/management of issues. If there is, I wait for you to impress me. I was talking to my friend who is a GEJ supporter and asked him to tell me something terrific about his candidate and all he could tell me to tingle my nerves is that "He's from the Niger-delta, a minority people who have never ruled the nation before".

In many of my observations about him, all I have noticed is mediocrity and usual from his decision of banning Nigerian Football to poor action on security issues that affect our unity especially what is going on in Jos. I just think a president of a country of 160 million should be better than just normal, he should be exemplary.

We have had exemplary leaders in the past like
- Zik, who was determined on building the foundations to sustain our nation along with Awolowo and Ahmadu Bello,
- Gowon who led to the end of the civil war and re-integration of the East back into Nigeria,
- Muritala Mohammed who has strong-willed and disciplined to achieve Nigerians needs,
- Obj whom despite his madness has made decisions that has kept us united till this day including handing over to democracy,
- Buhari, who was determined about bringing morality, and discipline in Nigeria, which is essential to any civil society.

As for the late Yar'Adua and his former deputy who is the present president. I have observed that they are nothing really unique about these men. They hype on their educational background and humility. For goodness sake, Nigerians arent that bad, 50% of people I've met so far are humble and 80% educated. Is there anything so special about that? I think with all the complicated issues of this country, we deserve more than a leader who is learned and perceived humble.

Again, this reality beats me: what if Nigeria has to fight a war, can you trust this man who has proven to be impulsive and shaky in decision-making as your commander-in-chief?

So far, I see nothing terrific about Jonathan, if there is I would like to know. To me voting this guy is like saying "let our presidential position not be vacant".
