Foreign AffairsRe: Breaking News: A No Fly- Zone Has Been Passed On Libya By Un by Blazing99: 7:32pm On Mar 27, 2011
For those who have been supporting a no-fly zone.

Have u seen the hypocrisy of the West? They not only imposed a no-fly zone but they started boming military facilities in Libya and even Ghadaffi's compound. Now tell me if that is fair. When Japan bombed the Pearl Harbour, they made the Japanese sound like evil people. Now the Us-led allied forces are bombing Libya's military and even thinking of arming the rebels in Benghazi. This is becoming an INVASION, which the world is watching passively.

Libya's not the only country that killed protesters. Bahrain did even till now, Syria did, Iran did last year, Yemen is doing presently but pls cud someone tell me why Libya is being invaded? The three letter words "OIL"

Only fellow hypocrites or people who are yet who arent deep would support this action in Libya
PoliticsRe: Do Non - Northerners Support Buhari? by Blazing99: 9:57pm On Mar 26, 2011
muami:
A review of the pro Buhari supporters show that they support him for two reason: (1)They believe he is not corrupt, and (2) They hate PDP.Considering the extent of corruption in Nigeria and the below average performance of PDP in the past 12 years, these are good reasons.       However, the question is: Are these reasons good enough? I think it is a mistake to vote for someone because of who he is or in protest of what the other person or party did not do. Examples abound that people live to regret it. For example in UK, they voted the Conservatives simply because they hated Labour. Today, everyone is protesting against thie policies.Similarly, in the US, Obama was voted largely because people hated George Bush and the way he handled the Iraq war. Today, they have realised that hate and oratory prowess is not enough, which is why they voted back the Republican in the mid term elections.
Yes, I hate corruption, and yes, PDP has under performed but I dont think that should be the main reason why we should vote for the candidates we want to vote for otherwise we may end up regreting. All I am trying to say is this: if Buhari and his online supporters here really want us to vote for him, he and they should focus on the plans and programmes and not on the mere fact that he hates corruption. There are so many countries, including Ireland and Portugal, where the leaders are not corrupt and yet they are clueless as to how to move the economy forward. What we need is a leader that has a coherent plan on how to accelerate economic growth in the country. As we prepare to vote, let that be the overaching criteria for selecting candidates.
True. We support Buhari because of his anti-corruption views. Isnt corruption the main problem killing Nigeria. People get to power to make fortunes rather than serve people. Untill corruption is brought to appreciable levels Nigeria can never be great. But the fact is not just about him fighting corruption, it is that he is a man of the people and puts the people's interest first not the interest of politicians, godfathers, supporters and sycopants. That is the non-hypocritical kind of leader we want not an opportunist like the rest.

I am from Osun State and I stand strongly for BB

As much as i would love Utomi to be the President of Nigeria, unfortunately he is not ready to lead Nigeria. How many Nigerians know Pat Utomi? And by this, I mean the real electorates, who are in the villages and rural areas. You and I are Internet commentators and would probably not go out to vote for fear of being attacked at the polling booths. But the real people who vote are those in the rural areas who are given 1 thousand naira to vote irregardless of the danger or risk of being attacked.
You're right. If Utomi was contesting big time with a strong party, I would dump Buhari. But right now, despite his age we need Buhari to build strong institutions on which Nigeria can stand. That's why I go for Buhari again.
PoliticsRe: April Polls: First Lady Gives Fund To Female Candidates by Blazing99: 12:50pm On Mar 25, 2011
She cannt give out anything less than N500,000

And she gave it to 809 ladies. That's about 40.5 million naira.

Please could someone tell me how she came about this money or did her husband loan her.

This is the stupid corruption and extravagant spending that wud continue if PDP still lays in power. I wonder why people are either myopic to the fact that we have a corrupt government in place and we need change.

This post is pretty stupid. Do you expect former military governors to be paupers when spare part dealers and students are millionaires?

I wonder why did made the front page. *very dissapointed*

Vice President na spare tyre!! The only reason he selected Bakare was to help him win Christian votes thats all!! If they smell Aso Rock, Bakare would probably be just that= A spare tyre, until . . . . . . . . just like Jonathan!!
Yeah u're right to some extent, but why bring a cleric who is not into politics into politics just to claim christian votes. arent there tonnes of other christians he could choose from but why Bakare??
The answer lies simply that
- They have something in common: honesty and zero tolerance for corruption
- Bakare is intelligent
- Bakare's also an activist and bold to the truth

That's why I believe he chose Bakare and didn't go along with the ACN plan for a vice.

The judge as right. This guy and his family came to Nigeria with nothing but his talent.

He's a very talented sportsman. If one punch could lay the other guy down so easily, I think wat we have here is a talented footballer and an undiscovered talented BOXER. cool

So the opposition parties in Nigeria can actually unite like this? Why can't they choose the best man among them and support him since they're all for a good Nigeria, and not for treasury looting?

@ Operations.
Real nice Photoshop works. Makes me feel like I've been too lazy as a Graphic artist. My comments below:

My favorite is the machine-girl. Real impressive and very realistic as your colour blending was superb.
I'll give this an 8. The VW insect and the slow suicide bomber would earn my 7.5.
I'll give the yellow/white giraffe my 6.5 along with the fruit-sliced lizard. The fruit-sized lizard would have been more realistic and earned my favorite but you need to work a little more on the blending and brightness function in PSD.

My advice: Start a career in graphic arts. You've got talent

Before I left for Nigeria in January, I thought Buhari was actually popular as being proclaimed on NL, On arriving Nigeria and going round the country visiting families and friends, I discovered to my utmost disappointment Buhari is not a potential candidate to win in April. I just hope after this he will retire and concentrate more on his family.  grin grin grin
Where in Nigeria did u go? Bayelsahuh?

My problem is not about getting the milk, it is about sucking a cow's teats. I see it as a fore-play act in animal sex, lol
