USE THE PRESSURE “1. And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret, 2. And saw two ships standing by the lake...” (Luke 5: 1-2) That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today. When Jesus faced the pressure of the multitudes that wanted to hear God's word through Him, He saw two ships at the lake of Gennesaret, and He seemed to conceive the idea of preaching from a ship. Jesus eventually preached from Simon Peter’s ship. Pressure pushed Him to see the opportunity of using a ship to preach; pressure opened His eyes and stretched His ingenuity and creativity. Friend, instead of joining others to complain about the pressures of this life, ask God to open your eyes to see the opportunities hidden in the pressure. Ask God to open your eyes to see the business opportunity hidden in the problems around you; ask God to show you the ‘honey’ that can be extracted from the ‘beehives’ around you. Let pressures fill your mind with ideas and open your eyes to see opportunities for your Exceeding Expansion. Let the pressures you face cause you to hold on to God for new visions that will raise you higher. Let the pressures you face unlock your creativity and give you new ideas. Let the pressures you face cause you to see what others are not seeing and do what others are not doing. If Jesus gave up on the crowd that pressed on Him, just maybe there wouldn’t have been the net breaking miracle that Peter experienced. If you give up because of pressure, some huge possibilities may never manifest, and you may achieve nothing when you should actually achieve so much. Make the most of every pressure that comes to you: it is a raw material for your Exceeding Expansion. Prayer : Lord, may every pressure I face open my eyes to see and inspire me with fresh ideas, in Jesus’ name!Amen Today, May Every Pressure Inspire You To Expand Exceedingly. |
SPEAK THE WORD “And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret,” (Luke 5: 1) That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today. Our Focal Scripture speaks of a multitude that pressed on Jesus because they wanted to hear God's word. Like we observed, ‘press’ is the root word for ‘pressure’. So the pressure that came to Jesus wanted to hear God's word from Him. ‘Pressure’ came to Jesus and demanded to be fed with God’s word. Friend, every pressure and every challenge you face is a call for you to speak God’s word. Some pressures may never end until you attack them with a word from God that fits perfectly into the pressure situation. Some challenges may never end until you fight against them with God’s word. Some pressures won’t end until you speak the word of God. Speak God's word to every pressure in your health, and it will crumble. For every financial pressure, remind yourself that God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory. When pressures arise in your career/business, speak a word that addresses the specific issue and the pressure will fizzle out before your eyes. If all you do in your pressure moments is to complain, you are making a mistake that will complicate your pressures. If you face pressures like one who is already defeated, don’t blame anyone when the pressure finally defeats you. When pressures come and you succumb without a response, the pressure might end up having the final say. Search the scriptures and find a fitting word for every pressure that comes your way. As you speak the word, every pressure will bow to the word. Acts 19:20 says: “So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.” Prayer : Lord, when pressure comes, I will give it Your word, in Jesus’ name!Amen. Today, By The WORD, You Will Prevail Over Every Pressure. |
GOD HAS OPTIONS “And the LORD said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons.” (1 Samuel 16: 1) That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today. When Saul failed/disobeyed God, God reached out for David and established him as the next king of Israel. God wasn't stranded because Saul failed; He had options and activated same when He had to. Saul may not have been conscious of God’s options while he indulged in sin, but God used His next option once Saul could no longer be trusted. Friend, whenever you are tempted to fail God this year, always remember that God has options. You are not the only one that God can bless or increase; you are not the only one that God can use or establish; you are not God’s only option; if you check well, you might discover that God has better options than you. The fact that God chose you doesn't mean He can't drop you for someone else. If Saul knew that his failure to execute God’s judgement on the Amalekites would cost him his throne, maybe he would have refrained from his error. Your errors might be costlier than you can ever imagine, and you may be setting the stage for someone else’s elevation through the misuse of your chance. The moment Saul’s kingship was truncated and God chose David, Saul didn't get a second chance. One could only imagine what would have been the case if he didn’t waste his chance. God is always willing to give another chance, but the reality is that sometimes, when you lose your place to another, you may not get it back as fast as you lost it. Don’t be counted among those who forced God to use His other options. Don’t lose your place; don’t waste your chance. Prayer: Lord, I won’t lose my place or waste my chance, in Jesus’ name!Amen Your January Shall End In Praise! |
DON'T FAIL GOD “And the LORD said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel?...” (1 Samuel 16: 1) That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today. God Himself orchestrated a massive elevation for Saul, God moved him from obscurity to undeniable visibility, he didn’t have a pedigree but God chose him, he was not from the tribe of Judah but God chose him; God chose Saul against all odds, and gave him what was unmistakably an Exceeding Expansion. Despite receiving the throne of Israel on a platter of gold, Saul messed up his kingship by disobeying God (see 1 Samuel 15). Saul sinned against God, and that set the stage for his disgrace; his sin short-circuited what God planned for him; his sin was the trap in which his kingship was caught without remedy; he willfully took an action that failed God, and he soon became a failure himself. Friend, hear God’s warning: sin can cut short your Exceeding Expansion this year. When the devil tempts you to sin, just remember that your Exceeding Expansion is on the line, and you may have to choose between the expansion you desire and the sinful desires of your flesh. The Exceeding Expansion that God is set to bring shares no compatibility with a life of sin and disobedience. Saul did not necessarily sin against God twice; he only sinned once, and that one misguided misadventure became his nemesis. Don’t even accept to sin even once: your sin is the devil’s chance to mess you up and accuse you before God. Your sin might push God into reversing what He has already planned for you. Whatever God has given you can be withdrawn by Him if He so chooses. Don’t be counted among those whose Exceeding Expansion was cut short by God on account of sin. Dare to please God; don’t fail God. Prayer : Lord, in this year, I will not fail You; give me grace to follow after You, in Jesus’ name!Amen You Are Too Blessed To Fail. |
DESTINY MESSENGERS “And Saul also went home to Gibeah; and there went with him a band of men, whose hearts God had touched.” (1 Samuel 10: 26) That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today. In a bid to establish Saul as King, there was a band of men whose hearts were touched by God, and they followed Saul. Saul didn't have a band of men before he became king, but when God chose him to lead Israel, God also touched some men to support Saul’s success. Friend, hear God’s prophetic word: God will touch men to assist you to make progress this year. God will touch men to open doors for you and push you to the next level; God will plant it in the heart of strangers and acquaintances to favour you; God will compel men to play positive roles that will help your advancement this year; God will touch men to do for you what you may not be able to do for yourself. Saul didn't beg the band of men to follow him; God just touched their hearts and they acted accordingly. This year, people you haven't begged for anything will favour you at God’s instance. People you may not share a relationship with will be touched by God and without asking them for favours, they will favour immensely. In the past, you may have asked men to favour you; this year, God will touch their hearts on your behalf. Some men may have stony hearts and will never willingly choose to help anyone, but when God touches them, they won’t have any option but to serve you effectively. God was the architect of Saul’s kingship, and He made men available to make the project succeed. If God is at the center of your life this year, He will command men to work for your Exceeding Expansion. Ask God to open your eyes to the men He has touched to favour you. Ask God to compel the men He has touched to act quickly in your best interest. Prayer : Lord, touch the hearts of men to work in my favour, in Jesus’ name!Amen Receive Your Destiny Messengers. |
PLANT YOUR SEED “And thou shalt go down before me to Gilgal; and, behold, I will come down unto thee, to offer burnt offerings, and to sacrifice sacrifices of peace offerings: ...” (1 Samuel 10: ![]() That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today. Prophet Samuel instructed Saul to go to Gilgal where burnt offerings and sacrifices were to be made preparatory to Saul’s elevation. Saul was about to step into kingship, but before he could enter into that new season, a foundation was laid with a sacrifice unto God. Saul’s kingship was not made manifest, He did not experience a fulfillment of what God ordained until there was a sacrifice to God. Sacrifices were offered unto God, something was done for God as the public announcement of Saul’s kingship was awaited. A sacrifice was on the altar as Saul awaited his next level. Friend, if you want to experience the fullness of the Exceeding Expansion that God is bringing your way this year, do yourself a favour: put a sacrifice on the altar. Sow a seed that will speak for you. Give something to God as you await what He intends to release unto you; give to God before He even gives to you; drop a seed that will call forth your Exceeding Expansion into being. For every new ground God gives you this year, sow a new seed; when your expected harvest is delayed after you have sowed a seed, sow again; let your seed be commensurate to the exceeding harvest you are expecting; even when your harvest arrives, sow a part of it to activate the next season of harvest. Don’t complain that you have not seen your harvest when God has not yet seen your seed on His altar. Don’t accuse God of not giving to you when you have not yet given to Him. Give to God, sow a seed, be a sower and your seeds will set the stage for Exceeding Expansion. Prayer : Lord, I choose to sow seeds that will provoke my harvest, in Jesus’ name!Amen Your Days Will End In Praise. |
PLAY YOUR ROLE “...Whatever job you’re given to do, do it. God is with you!” (1 Samuel 10: 7 MSG) That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today. The earlier instructions of Samuel to Saul mostly spoke of what people would do for Saul; some men were meant to give him good news at Rachel’s sepulcher, others were meant to give him two loaves of bread at the plain of Tabor. Saul was meant to receive from others without really doing anything. After the season of receiving without doing anything, Saul entered a season where he had a job to do. Expansion was coming his way, and Samuel reminded him that he had things to do. Saul had a role to play in making his kingship a success; apart from things God made happen, Saul had things he should make happen. Friend, in your season of Exceeding Expansion, take note: God will not do everything for you. In the making of the greatness God will bring your way this year, play your role. Strive to excel and be exceptional in all your ways. Be committed, dedicated, consistent, resilient, etc. It’s your job to display the right attitudes, good manners, good disposition, right approach, etc. Make the right prayers, sow the right seeds, take the right steps, make the right efforts, and do whatever is in your power to do. Saul’s kingship eventually failed when he failed to do what God wanted him to do. Your success this year does not depend on God alone; it also depends on you. If you fail to play your role, you might embrace failure instead of the Exceeding Expansion that God has promised. Wake up and play your role effectively. Apart from God’s role, your success also lies in your hands, and it lies in what you do or fail to do. Ecclesiastes 9 vs. 10 says: “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might...”. Prayer : Lord, help me to play my role in achieving my Exceeding Expansion, in Jesus’ name!Amen Welcome To Your Season Of Power And Glory. |
ANOTHER MAN “And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man.” (1 Samuel 10: 6) That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today. As Saul was on the way to becoming the first king of Israel, one major prerequisite he needed was for him to become another man. Saul was not about to sit on the throne without major changes; he embraced change before he embraced the throne; he changed before his position changed. Something in Saul changed before his level changed. Friend, as you expect change in your status/circumstances, God expects you to change from within; make positive changes in your character/behaviour before your next level manifests; God expects your attitudes to change for the better as you desire your portion this year; He expects your understanding to improve as you get set to enjoy a glorious year. As your next level beckons, let prayerlessness give way to prayerfulness, let inconsistency give way to consistency, let incompetence give way to competence, let laxity and procrastination give way to prompt service, let your imperfections give way for perfection, and let your weaknesses be exchanged with strength. The Saul who became king was Saul who became another man; it wasn’t the old version of Saul that sat on the throne; it was his new version. Your next level wants a better version of you; if you remain the same, you might be so close to your next level without getting into it. Become another man, be a better version of yourself, even where you have done well, still improve and God will cause you to sit on your throne. Romans 12 vs. 2 says: “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Prayer : Lord, help me to become a better person, in Jesus’ name!Amen This Monday, You Shall Have Divine Direction! |
"Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." Heb. 4:16 Grace and mercy will define and precede every single step you'll take in this new week. The #Throneofgrace will support and assist you! You'll not labour in vain! You'll not be stranded in the valley of confusion! In Jesus Precious Name!!! Beloved, have a blessed new week. |

SPEAK THE WORD “And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them...” (1 Samuel 10: 6) That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today. Before Saul was unveiled as King, Prophet Samuel announced that Saul would prophesy with the prophets. Saul was to prophesy when his kingship was yet to be made known to Israel. He needed to prophesy when his next level was yet to manifest; he prophesied when there was no throne yet. To prophesy is to speak the mind of God; to prophesy is to say what God is saying or what God said. So, Saul spoke mind of God before his kingship was made manifest by God. He spoke God’s word, he said what God was saying, and his kingship eventually became an outstanding reality. Friend, as you run your race this year, do yourself a favour: prophesy. Speak the mind of God; speak God's word. Say what God is saying; say what God has said; speak words that are in line with God’s intention concerning you; search the scriptures and find words concerning you, and when you find them, speak them. Don’t just speak what you see at the moment; speak what you want to see; speak the future; speak life. Everyone in Israel was not prophesying when Saul had to prophesy. Those prophesying may have been in the minority, but Saul prophesied. You might find yourself in the minority if you are speaking the mind of God, but don’t let it deter you. Everyone around you may be speaking about the hopelessness that abounds, but don’t let that stop you. Saul may have been in the minority whilst speaking the mind of God, but in a matter of time, he reigned over the majority that did not speak God’s mind. If you keep speaking the mind of God, soon, you will reign over those who are not speaking it. Prayer : Lord, I choose to speak Your word all year long, in Jesus’ name!Amen Your Family Is Blessed, Honoured And Favoured; Nothing Missing, Nothing Broken. |
