PRAISE ON

“...thou shalt come to the hill of God, where is the garrison of the Philistines... thou shalt meet a company of prophets coming down from the high place with a psaltery, and a tabret, and a pipe, and a harp...”
(1 Samuel 10: 5)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

Our Focal Scripture introduces a company of prophets who were coming down from the high place with a psaltery, a tabret, a pipe and a harp. They had musical instruments; they had instruments of praise; put differently, these prophets were in a praise mode.

There was a Philistine garrison on the hill of God at the time when these prophets had instruments of praise. There was an enemy occupation while they praised. They were praising despite what was not in order; they praised despite a problem that was yet to be rolled away; they praised God in the midst of opposition.

Friend, whatever opposition or challenge you face this year, don’t let anything steal your praise. Don’t allow unanswered prayers to steal your praise; don’t allow the promotion that is yet to come to steal your praise; don’t allow the pending achievements to steal your praise; don’t let any difficulty, past failures, or whatever is wrong in your environment to steal your praise.

Your praise to God is a catalyst for divine intervention and exceeding expansion. If you dare to praise God despite what is not working, He will show up to make things work for you. If you embarrass the devil with praises despite your storms, God will have no option but to embarrass you with His goodness.

Praise God through the good and the bad; praise Him when things work and when things don’t work, and God will give you more than you asked.

Psalm 149: 6 says: “Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand;”

Prayer : Lord, I vow to praise You no matter the opposition I face this year, in Jesus’ name!Amen
This Friday, God Will Enlarge Your Territory.

DON'T BOW

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

Whilst the Philistine soldiers were encamped on the hill of God, a company of prophets were going about their assignment without fear. One would have imagined that the prophets would go into hiding because of the Philistine military occupation, but they didn’t. They didn’t bow because of enemies.

Friend, God says, don’t bow because of the enemies against you. Don’t allow your enemies to chase you into obscurity. Don’t allow the wickedness of people around you to intimidate you. Don’t bow in fear because of haters and adversaries. Don’t allow demonic encampments to prevail against you.

You need not live in fear simply because some people don’t like you; you need not go into hiding because some men are conspiring against you; don't be overtaken by any wickedness of the wicked; don't allow the enemies of your destiny to set the agenda for your life. Don't bow because of negativity. Refuse to be intimidated by any conspiracy.

If God be for you, no man and no power can successfully pull you down. If God is on your side, it doesn’t matter how many people are against you, they will fail. The presence of enemies is God’s opportunity to give you a new victory.

Focus on God and stop making the opposition against you feel more special that they should. Theirs is to conspire against you, but yours is to defeat them again and again.

1 John 4: 4 sums it up: “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”

Prayer : Lord, I refuse to hide because of enemies; I will defeat them again and again, in Jesus’ name!Amen
Your Season Of Fruitfulness Has Begun.

STUBBORN OPPOSITION

“...thou shalt come to the hill of God, where is the garrison of the Philistines...”
(1 Samuel 10: 5)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional.

After Saul's anointing as king, he was meant to arrive at the hill of God. The hill of God is symbolic of higher spiritual attainment; it is symbolic of higher heights in Christ; it speaks of spiritual depth and spiritual increase; the hill of God speaks of higher intimacy with God.

At the hill of God, there was a garrison of the Philistines. The place of the highest spiritual attainment became the place of the highest opposition. The higher spiritual levels became the site where enemies of Israel encamped. Enemies of Israel didn't steer clear of the hill of God.

Friend, as you rise higher in your walk with God, always remember that there is a growing opposition against you from the camp of the enemy. There are people who would hate you without a just cause, all because you are growing deeper in your walk with God. There are people who would conspire against you because the hand of the Lord is upon you. Some negative spiritual gatherings will arise against you because of your relationship with God.

As you rise higher, get set for more spiritual warfare. Deepen your prayers no matter the spiritual heights you attain; never imagine that you are no longer a target of the enemy; never mistake your spiritual growth as an excuse for spiritual laxity.

Stay on the grind and fight every opposition against your destiny. Don’t take the opposition against you for granted; keep pushing in the place of prayers and spiritual warfare, keep pressing on and you will prevail.

Isaiah 54: 15 says: “Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.”

Prayer : Lord, help me to discern and deal with every opposition against my destiny, in Jesus’ name!Amen
This Wednesday, You Won't Be Denied!

PAY ATTENTION TO GOD

“3. …there shall meet thee three men going up to God to Bethel, one carrying three kids, and another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a bottle of wine: 4. And they will salute thee, and give thee two loaves of bread...”
(1 Samuel 10: 3-4)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

In our Focal Scripture, Prophet Samuel spoke of three men who would be going up to God in Bethel. Bethel was the place of worship. These men were on their way to the temple; their mission was to worship God. Their attention was on God; their movement was all about God; they were God chasers.

The men who were on their way to the temple had three kids, a bottle of wine and three loaves of bread. They later gave two loaves of bread to Saul. They focused on God, and they had what a king needed. They paid attention to God, and they had resources that their generation was in need of.

Friend, in this year, pay attention to God. Be a God chaser; run towards God; let your focus and commitment be towards God; let your hope be in God; let your heart be stayed on God; let God be the center of your being and your existence; let God be your foremost priority; let God be your destination.

Men whose destination is God’s house and whose priority is God always have what their generation needs. God chasers always have ideas that turn things around in their environment. If you become a God chaser, God will load you with benefits that will be beneficial to your generation; when you become a God chaser, God will give you resources that kings need.

Stop chasing opportunities to serve the kings of this world; just become a God chaser, make God your high priority, keep running towards God, and He will endue you with what your generation needs.

Prayer : Lord, You are my priority this year; I have what my generation needs, in Jesus’ name!Amen
Your Season Of Multiplied Favour Has Begun.

WALK IN PURITY

“Then shalt thou go on forward from thence, and thou shalt come to the plain of Tabor, and there shall meet thee three men...”
(1 Samuel 10: 3)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

According to Samuel’s prophecy, Saul was meant to meet two men at Rachel’s sepulcher; but he was meant to meet three men at the plain of Tabor. Saul was going to move from meeting two men to meeting three men at the plain of Tabor. Simply put, Saul was meant to experience increase at Tabor.

‘Tabor’ is interpreted to mean ‘purity’. So at the place of purity, Saul experienced increase without even praying for it. Purity was the environment where increase came in contact with Saul. Purity was the location where Saul experienced the increase that Samuel prophesied about.

Friend, purity is the place of your increase. Righteous living is the platform where divinely orchestrated increase will come your way without efforts. Righteousness is the platform that will push you to the next level; righteousness is the key to your Exceeding Expansion. Righteousness is the environment that will cause God to give you more than you asked for.

When you live your life without purity, you are shortchanging yourself and truncating your destiny with your own hands. When you fail to live by God’s standard of purity and righteousness, you may keep seeking increase without experiencing it. There are divinely orchestrated testimonies that should be yours but which may never come to reality if you remain stuck in sin.

Let God not plan to bless you and end up seeing you in relationships you should have relinquished; let God not plan to increase you and see you in attitudes, behaviours, sins, etc that are toxic to your increase. Walk in righteousness and God will increase you.

Prayer : Lord, give me grace to walk in righteousness and purity in this year and beyond, in Jesus’ name!Amen
This Monday, You Will Start Well And Finish Well!

FROM LOSS TO GAINS

“...thou shalt find two men by Rachel's sepulchre in the border of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will say unto thee, The asses which thou wentest to seek are found…”
(1 Samuel 10: 2)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

In 1st Samuel chapter 9, Saul went in search of his father’s asses which were lost. Saul’s life experienced a loss; there seemed to be a subtraction from his family; there seemed to be a destiny reduction; someone who had lots of asses to manage suddenly found himself in a scenario of missing asses; Saul’s family suffered a loss in 1 Samuel 9.

In our focal Scripture, Prophet Samuel announced that Saul would meet two men at Rachel’s sepulcher who would inform him that his father’s lost asses have been found. Saul moved from a chapter of losses to a chapter of gains. He moved from reduction to restoration. He moved from subtraction to addition. He transited from a season of loss to a season of Exceeding Expansion.

Friend, in this Year, you shall move from a chapter of losses to a chapter of gains. You will move from reduction to restoration; you will move from subtraction to addition. You will move from exceeding losses to exceeding expansion. For everything you lost in time past, there shall be restoration with compensation. Every destiny reduction of the past shall be replaced with an amazing increase.

The restoration of the lost asses did not come by Saul's efforts. It came by the word of the Lord. This year, God’s word will orchestrate a restoration of everything you have lost. Without making efforts, you shall step into divine restoration with compensation. You shall not only recover what you lost; you shall also receive what you never even had.

Stay connected to God and God’s word, and you shall transit from losses to gains.

Prayer : Lord, close every chapter of loss in my life, and open new chapters of gain, in Jesus’ name!Amen
