TAKE THAT RISK

“If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.”
(2 Kings 7: 4)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

The lepers in our Focal Scripture were faced with three options: going back to Samaria, remaining at the city gate, or entering into the Syrians' camp. There was no food in Samaria and at the city gate; but there was food in the camp of the Syrians, though the risk of facing soldiers was possible.

Those lepers moved to the camp of the Syrians. They moved to where they could find food. They moved towards their opportunity. They went to where they could find what they needed. There was danger in the Syrians' camp but they were undeterred. They took their chance despite the danger and risk involved.

Friend, God says, take the risk and go to where there is 'food'. Move closer to opportunities that will favour you; move to where you can find resources that will benefit you. Go closer to what you need even if there is a risk. Take the risk and go for that job even if you feel you are not wanted; take the risk and start that business even if circumstances are not favourable.

The lepers took a risk and went towards their opportunity, and they found what they wanted without being harmed by the risk. If you dare to take the risk, you just might discover that the risk is not harmful afterall. If you take the risk and go closer to your desired opportunities, you will find what you need without being harmed.

The risk of taking action is more profitable than the safety of inaction. Take a step of faith and God will surprise you with uncommon results.

Prayer : Lord, give me wisdom to take risks that will favour me, in Jesus’ name!Amen

NATIONAL SOLUTIONS

“Then Elisha said... Thus saith the LORD, Tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.”
(2 Kings 7: 1)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

The famine in Samaria was a national problem. Everyone in Samaria, both rich and poor were affected. People who were rich enough to spend eighty shekels could only buy an ass head; people who could only spare five shekels bought dove’s dung. Everyone was affected; no one was exempted.

After Elisha's prophecy, one shekel could buy a large sack of flour, or two large sacks of barley. Things turned around in the nation of Israel, and both the rich and poor could afford so much. Things miraculously turned around in Samaria, a national solution, manifested, and everyone benefited.

Friend, ask God to bring national solutions to the challenges facing your nation. Ask God to intervene in matters that affect the rich and poor in your nation. Ask God to turn things around in your city and nation in a way that will be of benefit to you. Ask God to bring national solutions to matters that affect you and also in matters that are not yet affecting you.

The problem in Samaria was not the king’s personal issue; it was everyone's issue. The challenges in your nation are not for your leaders alone to solve. It may look like their problem, they may be responsible for solutions, but if you don’t pray for divine national solutions, you may end up being affected.

Remember, the national solution in Samaria came by divine proclamation. Take your national issues to God and in a matter of time, there will be national solutions.

Psalm 122 vs. 6 says it all: “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.”

Prayer : Lord, intervene in every national problem; may there be divine national solutions, in Jesus’ name!Amen

AWAY FROM UNCLEANNESS

“And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate...”
(2 Kings 7: 3)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

Our Focal Scripture speaks of four lepers. In Old Testament times, lepers lived outside the city. Leprosy came into their lives and they moved out of the city. They probably had families, friends, vocations, etc; they may have had capacity to deliver results, but leprosy turned their lives upside down.

Leprosy was synonymous with uncleanness in Old Testament times; so uncleanness stepped in and turned their lives upside down. Uncleanness drove them out of where they should be; uncleanness reduced and incapacitated them; uncleanness messed up their lives and abilities. Uncleanness came into their lives, and the journey to stagnation and retrogression began.

Friend, hear God’s warning: when you walk into uncleanness and unrighteousness, be careful, you are about to begin the journey of stagnation and retrogression. Sin has the capacity to reduce your destiny and set your life on a downward slide; sin can mess up your future and prospects; sin can make you a slave of things you should dominate; sin will truncate your destiny and cut off your abilities.

The sin of Reuben caused him to be bypassed in the blessing of the firstborn (see Genesis 49). Sin caused God to sell the Israelites into the hand of the King of Canaan for 20 years (see Judges 4). The sin of Adam and Eve drove them out of the Garden in Eden. Sin is not your friend. When the enemy entices you to sin, do not consent. Consent to sin is a consent to have your destiny reduced and truncated.

Walk away from every sin that easily besets you. Righteousness has no business with unrighteousness. Sin is a reproach. Discard sin and embrace God’s righteousness.

Prayer : Lord, I choose the path of righteousness; I walk away from sin, in Jesus’ name!Amen

YOU WON'T BE REDUCED

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

Our Focal Scripture speaks of four men who were lepers. They weren't boys; they were men. They may have had wives, children, and responsibilities, society expected a lot from them; but when they became lepers, they were thrown out of the city.

Leprosy reduced their destinies and pushed them out; leprosy caused them to abandon their families. No matter what their professions were, leprosy halted them.

Friend, are there challenges and circumstances that have reduced your destiny and pushed you out of your responsibilities? Do you have capacity, but can’t do much because of misfortunes that befell you? Is there a situation that has incapacitated you and made you less than you should be?

Today, hear God’s prophetic word: your destiny will not be reduced. You won't be wasted or reduced to nothing by the battles of life and by challenges that come your way. Your destiny won't be halted by any arrow of the enemy. You will not stop on the way. Your destiny won't be exchanged. Whatever God has destined you to be will not be tampered with.

The lepers were abandoned and forgotten because of what happened to them, but at the city gate, God smiled on them and they served a national purpose. Even if you have been abandoned because of what happened to you, relax, God will soon visit you and raise you from the dust.

Whatever misfortune that befell you is not final. Even when Naaman faced leprosy, he eventually got healed by the word of the Lord through Elisha. If Jehovah is involved, no matter the misfortune, you shall rise again.

Psalm 75 vs. 10 says: “All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.”

Prayer : Lord, I won’t be reduced; raise me from every misfortune, in Jesus’ name!Amen

"Whenever the Pot the Potter was working on turned out badly, as sometimes happens when you are working with clay, the potter would simply start over and use the same clay to make another pot". (Jeremiah 18. Vs 4).

This is one scripture that continued to bless me all week. Away from many things that blessed me is the phrase that says "...and use THE SAME CLAY to make another Pot". Same clay that turned out bad. Same clay that didn't produce the required results. Same clay that failed the Potter. Same clay that fell below expectations. He uses same clay to make yet another Pot.

Friend, same you that failed in your life of consecration. Same you that they told was not qualified. Same you that the doctors gave a negative report. Same you that they have hated,mis-treated and badly talked about. Same you that feel unworthy and unaccepted. The Hands of the Potter are on you. He is making you into something much more beautiful that will make you shed tears of Joy.

The Potter didn't use another clay. He used same clay. No other Person will be used to fulfil your destiny, You are still the best man/woman to fulfil your dreams and visions.

The hands of the Potter are on you...Announce to every nay-sayer that same you that was despised, hated, looked down on and failed severally is the same Person that the Potter will mould into a much more beautiful vessel.

I guess its in order to be the first to say- CONGRATULATIONS!!

The four lepers in our Focal Scripture were at the city gate of Samaria. In bible times, major decisions were taken at city gates. So the four lepers were in an environment of decision taking. At the city gate, they decided to go into the camp of the Syrians where they found food in abundance.

They were in a decision making environment, and they soon became decision makers. Their environment rubbed off on them.

Beloved, whatever environment you find yourself in may rub off on you. Being in a positive or negative environment may easily rub off on you. If you are connected to people with negative lifestyles, you may soon become like them; if you connect to people who love sin, you may soon start to love sin; if you connect to knowledgeable people, it will rub off too.

Be careful with environments you spend your time in. Be careful about who you relate with or discuss with; be careful with who you allow into your life and who comes close to you; be careful about who you always have around you. You are likely to be like any environment that saturates you.

Instead of being in wrong environments, ask God to show you right environments that will affect you positively. Ask God to show you the right friends, relationships, places, commitments, associations, etc that will improve you without reducing you. Ask God to show you environments that will lift you higher.

The right environment will raise you, but a negative environment will cause your star to go into hiding. Choose the right environments and God will cause you to excel.

Proverbs 13:20 says: “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”

Prayer : Lord, show me the right environments that will improve and raise me, in Jesus name:Amen

LIFTED BY THE WORD

“And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die?”
(2 Kings 7: 3)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

In Old Testament times, decisions were taken at the gates of cities. The four lepers at the gate of Samaria were not decision makers; they were ordinary, disadvantaged and rejected men; they had no business taking decisions for people in Samaria; but at the gate, they decided to move to the Syrian’s camp.

They were at a location where decisions were taken, and soon, they took decisions to move into the camp of Syrians where they discovered abundance. God’s word located them, and although they were ordinary men, they became decision makers and took an extraordinary decision that turned things around in Samaria.

Friend, you may look ordinary, you may not be in the top echelon of decision makers, but when God’s word locates you, it will empower you to step into a higher realm. God’s word will empower you to rise to higher levels. God’s word will empower you to receive what you may ordinarily not be entitled to receive. God’s word will open doors for you to accomplish what no one expects you to accomplish.

In the atmosphere of God’s word, a higher level is inevitable; and when the enemy wants to disconnect you from God’s word, he simply wants to disconnect you from the same word that will take you to higher grounds. When God’s word dwells richly in you, get set, in a matter of time, men will be amazed at the uncommon results that shall arise from your life.

Always remain in the atmosphere of God’s word. Read the word, meditate on it, feast on it, think on it, confess it, proclaim it, shout it, and believe it. If Jehovah is involved, God’s word will turn things around in your life.

Prayer : Lord, turn things around in my life through Your word; lift me higher, in Jesus’ name!Amen

Jesus said in mk 16v15 ,go into the world and preach the gospel to every creature, and in mk16v17, the signs will follow those who believe ,in his name dey will cast out demons ,dey will heal the sick and in verse 20, God was confirming the word with signs /wonders....

God attended to so many people yesterday ,it started with the woman that God delivers the daughter last week ,she came to thank God for delivering her daughter and setting her free from the hand of her mother and the servant of God called out the demon in charge of her own case ,to return every thing that has been taken from the woman ,after receiving tortures from God her glory ,gift and her stolen brander was all return...
Glory be to God

Another woman that a man use to come and sleep with at nite was also set free by God ,after calling the demon God destroys the demon...

Another man that was been feed in a dream and masquerade was chasing him in the dream ,his case file was opened but was not completed yesterday because dey refuse to speak ,by nxt week when the man will do renunciation God himself will deal with that issue...may the name of the lord be praised

Another woman that came with the sister to cct yesterday that God also attended to had an issue of settling down in marriage ,anytime she want to marry the devil will bring his ugly head but thank God she finally did when she met a God fearing man and fright the battle with her ..
Now she is married but any time she is carrying the fruit of the womb the baby will disappear ,without having miscarriage ,so when the demon was called she said the mother and the father had a covenant with them which dey didn't fulfill that's why dey are disturbing the children ,that for them to leave the woman her mother must die ,after saying what she want to say ,the God of Ellisha made the woman powerless and she surrenders...
The woman real spirit was called and she was crying that she want to be set free and the king of all kings ,the Lord of all Lord spoke thru the woman that she should go and serve him ,that he has deposited so many things in the woman ,that is because she don't know the kind of power at work in her and that the mother will surrender and be set free.....To God be all the Glory

Another woman that God attend to again ,that dream and saw a dead baby in her dream .when the demon was called it was her neigbour that want to kill one of the woman children ,after receiving torment from God and the servant of God put touch me not band on the woman and her children, the evil creature starts shouting that she won't go closer to her or her children again ......
who did all this testimonies ,is the king of kings and lord of all Lord .let us appreciate him and return all the glory to him, thank u Lord

(2) U must comply with what the word in mal3v 10 says -paying ur tithe
(3)U must believe in God -he is the creator of heaven and earth so u must believe in him..if ur heaven is open u will do signs and wonders
(4)Stop minding what people are saying
(5)U must be a testifier of the good work of God jh3v11, Amos 3v13
(6)U must deal with ur faulty or bad foundation
(7)Follow devine instructions

“Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned... said, Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.”

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

When Elisha proclaimed God's plan for Samaria, a lord on whose hand the king leaned questioned God’s ability to fulfill His promise. That lord spoke negatively; he spoke like one who didn't trust God to fulfill His word; he heard God’s promise but judged God unfaithful.

When he voiced his doubt, Elisha said, “you will see it with your eyes, but shall not eat thereof”. Later, when the miracle happened, there was a surge of people who wanted to partake of the windfall, and in the process, that lord who doubted God lost his life. He heard God’s promise but didn’t believe, he made negative confessions, and his negative confession backfired on him.

Friend, don’t respond to God’s word and promises with negative confessions. Don’t hear God’s word and say that it is impossible; don’t hear God’s promise and start calculating how God will make it happen; don’t hear what God said He would do and say anything to the contrary. When God speaks a word, it is His business to fulfill it, and it is not your business to query Him.

God fulfilled His promise; everyone enjoyed the miracle, but the lord who confessed negatively missed the show. He confessed that it was impossible, and it became possible for others but impossible for him.

When you confess negatively in response to God’s word and promise, be careful, it might become impossible in your own life but possible for people who have learnt to believe God.

Negative confessions will backfire on you. Speak in line with God's word.

Prayer : Lord, I choose to believe You; I refuse negative confessions, in Jesus’ name! Amen
