DON'T DOUBT GOD

“Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be?...”
(2 Kings 7: 2)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

When Elisha proclaimed the 24 hour miracle in Samaria, a lord on whose hands the king leaned, who queried the possibility of God’s promise. He heard God’s promise but he expressly doubted it. He didn’t trust God enough to fulfill His word.

The king of Israel leaned on this same lord who doubted God. He derived his support from someone who challenged the place of God. His support belittled the power of God and didn't believe God’s ability. He had a support that questioned God’s competence.

Friend, beware of every support that challenges the place of God in your life. Beware of any support that wants you to abandon your belief in God; beware of any support that makes you look down on God; beware of every support that tampers with your faith and confidence in God; beware of every support that robs you of your intimacy with God; beware of every support that does not glorify God.

If you ever have to choose between believing God and believing the words of a mere mortal, believe God and ignore the human support. Instead of trusting in man, trust in God.

Even with the best intentions, some people will fail you without planning it. If you trust a mere mortal to the extent that you don’t bother to believe in God, you are making a mistake that may consume your life.

Trust God for anything your mind conceives, and if Jehovah is involved, nothing shall be too hard to fulfill.

Jeremiah 17 vs. 5 sums it up: “Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.”

Prayer : Lord, I put my trust in You; I won't depend on the arm of flesh, in Jesus name. Amen

I know some people are tired of their situations ,that's why u must never give up no matter the situation ..when ever u are been mocked God is making u ...don't listen to what people are saying instead hear what God is saying concerning that case ...

DECIDE YOUR TOMORROW

“Then Elisha said... Thus saith the LORD, Tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel...”

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

In our Focal Scripture, Elisha proclaimed that there would be a turn around in the fortunes of Samaria. There was famine in Samaria at that time, everyone was involved, no one was spared. Things were so bad. Circumstances were not favourable.

Elisha declared that by the next day, famine would give way to abundance. Elisha's declaration affected his ‘tomorrow’ positively. He spoke a word to create events that would happen in ‘tomorrow’. He didn’t wait for tomorrow to happen; he decided tomorrow’s events with his words.

Friend, decide your tomorrow with your words. Speak prophetic words that will create the future you desire. Speak words that will bring tomorrow’s results. Make positive proclamations in the place of prayer and alter the course of your tomorrow. Use your words to make your tomorrow better. Use the declaration of God’s word to make more room for yourself in your tomorrow.

If you wait for tomorrow to happen to you, it may serve you a meal you won't enjoy. If you don't give orders to your tomorrow through prophetic words today, you may become a victim of someone else’s declarations for tomorrow.

Speak prophetically into your tomorrow; speak positive words into your future; even if your today is bad, declare that tomorrow will be better; even if things are not in your favour today, declare that tomorrow will work in your favour. Use your words to rule your world.

Elisha spoke, and ‘tomorrow’ obeyed the words of Elisha. Just speak and your tomorrow will bow to your declaration. Speak life into your tomorrow; use your words to decide your tomorrow.

Prayer : Lord, I choose to decide my tomorrow with my words, in Jesus’ name!Amen

NATIONAL SOLUTIONS

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

The famine in Samaria was a national problem. Everyone in Samaria, both rich and poor were affected. People who were rich enough to spend eighty shekels could only buy an ass head; people who could only spare five shekels bought dove’s dung. Everyone was affected; no one was exempted.

After Elisha's prophecy, one shekel could buy a large sack of flour, or two large sacks of barley. Things turned around in the nation of Israel, and both the rich and poor could afford so much. Things miraculously turned around in Samaria, a national solution, manifested, and everyone benefited.

Friend, ask God to bring national solutions to the challenges facing your nation. Ask God to intervene in matters that affect the rich and poor in your nation. Ask God to turn things around in your city and nation in a way that will be of benefit to you. Ask God to bring national solutions to matters that affect you and also in matters that are not yet affecting you.

The problem in Samaria was not the king’s personal issue; it was everyone's issue. The challenges in your nation are not for your leaders alone to solve. It may look like their problem, they may be responsible for solutions, but if you don’t pray for divine national solutions, you may end up being affected.

Remember, the national solution in Samaria came by divine proclamation. Take your national issues to God and in a matter of time, there will be national solutions.

Psalm 122 vs. 6 says it all: “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.”

Prayer : Lord, intervene in every national problem; may there be divine national solutions, in Jesus’ name!Amen

24 HOUR MIRACLE

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

In our Focal Scripture, Elisha prophesied concerning Samaria, that abundance would return “Tomorrow about his time”. By Elisha’s prophecy, what God was about to do would happen in 24 hours!

Divine intervention was to happen in 24 hours; famine was going to give way to abundance in 24 hours; God was going to turn things around through a 24 hour miracle.

Friend, hear God’s prophetic word: you shall have a 24 hour miracle. You shall have a miracle that will happen so fast that you will be so amazed when it happens. God will turn things around in your life within 24 hours. Divine intervention will show up for you in 24 hours; miracles that sound like a lie will happen in your life in 24 hours; the doors and windows of heaven will be opened in your favour in 24 hours.

Even if you have a medical report that says your health issues will soon turn fatal, just believe God for a 24 hour miracle. Even if some issues are threatening to get you fired at your work place, but just believe God and He will spring a 24 hour surprise for you. You may have financial challenges all around you, but God says, in 24 hours, expect a miracle.

God does not need more than a second to change a situation, no matter how bad it is; and if He could solve a national problem in 24 hours, then your own issues are minor and can receive attention and intervention within 24 hours. If there is a man who believes, then there is a God who can show up mightily within 24 hours.

Believe God for a 24 hour miracle. It may not look feasible, but if Jehovah is involved, it will happen by the hand of God.

Prayer : Lord, I believe Your word; give me a 24 hour miracle, in Jesus’ name!Amen

DIVINE OPPORTUNITIES

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

During the famine in Samaria, an ass’ head was sold for eighty shekels, while dove’s dung was sold for five shekels. People in Samaria spent so much to buy what was not meaningful. They had money, but their money couldn't buy any thing meaningful. Their resources got them nothing. They had capacity but no opportunity.

When Elisha's prophecy came to pass, a large sack of fine flour was sold for one shekel, and two large sacks of barley also went for one shekel. There was a reversal, and the people in Samaria found opportunity to spend their money meaningfully. God created opportunities that maximized the resources of people in Samaria.

Friend, are you at that point in life where you have resources but no opportunity to make use of your resources? Are you at that point where you have immense capacity, skills, abilities, competence, ideas, etc, but no opportunity to excel or positively express what you have in you?

Hear God’s prophetic word: you shall walk into divine opportunities that will help you to excel and express what you have in you. God will give you opportunities that will bring out the best in you. God will create opportunities that will magnify your efforts and bring you amazing results.

God will create space for you to make impact and receive uncommon results. God will open doors that will give you a chance to hit your target with ease.

People in Samaria found opportunity for their capacity, and results came with ease. Get set: God is about to bring opportunities that will make your success easy.

Before Elisha’s prophecy concerning Samaria, an ass head was sold for eighty shekels, while dove’s dung was sold for five shekels. Because of the famine, an ass head and dove’s dung were sold at outrageous rates. People spent so much to buy so little.

After Elisha’s prophecy, a measure (large sack) of fine flour was sold for one shekel; and two measures (two large sacks) of barley also went for one shekel. Elisha’s prophecy turned around the fortunes of Samaria, and instead of using so much to buy little, people used so little to buy so much.

Friend, are you using so much to achieve so little? Hear God’s prophetic word: in this season, your little will achieve much. Your little efforts will bring amazing results. Every little thing you do will bring forth a heavy harvest in your destiny.

That small business will bring in huge profits; your insignificant contacts will lead you into high favours that will blow your mind; as you take little steps, you shall have mighty results that will lead to abundance.

Elisha’s prophecy turned things around so much that even if one had one shekel, one bought so much; even if one wasn’t rich, one was able to acquire so much. God will bring you to the point where you may have little but you will be able to do big things.

Elisha’s prophecy was God’s word for the people in Samaria. Ask God to give a command that will turn things around in your destiny. Ask God to cause your little to achieve much.

Isaiah 60 vs. 22 says: “A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD will hasten it in his time.”

MEDITATE ON THE WORD

“Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD...”
(2 Kings 7: 1)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

When he announced God’s intervention plan concerning the famine in Samaria, Elisha said, “Hear ye the word of the LORD…”. The word ‘hear’ as used in that scripture has many meanings from original Hebrew translations, one of which is 'meditate'.

So, before God’s plan was unveiled, Elisha gave an instruction for meditation on God's word. Elisha instructed that everyone's thoughts should be on God's word.

Friend, it’s not enough to hear God’s word; God says, meditate on the word. Don’t be a forgetful hearer of God’s word; don’t hear the word and walk away until the next time you hear it.

Stay on the word you hear; think about it again and again; fill your mind with God's word; go beyond knowing the Word and let it dwell in you richly. Fill your thoughts and entire being with God’s word.

God’s word is like diamonds; you don’t get the best of it until you dig deep enough. When you hear God’s word, you may think you heard everything, but if you listen again, you will see how much you missed out.

If you go back to scriptures you have always known, and stay on them, God will show you new things you didn’t see the last time you checked.

Elisha gave a command for the people to ‘meditate’ on the word of the Lord, and what followed was an amazing miracle. If you live on God’s word, and if you meditate sufficiently on the word, it will fulfill God’s purpose within you, and it will prosper in God’s divine agenda concerning you.

Joshua 1 vs. 8 says it all: “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night... then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

Prayer : Lord, give me grace to meditate deeply on Your word, in Jesus’ name!Amen
