Angola should be grateful to the Chinese for bring civilization to their land. Something similar with festac 77 before the whites left. The Chinese are in Angola today but when a certain situation arise, they will leave.

I can't fault the chinese on this one becos nothing stops Angolans from building such structure on their so called land. The world can't wait on Africans forever. Africans(blacks) are their own worst enemies.

Ogugua88 must not be removed, dat would set a very bad example. In reality would Ndiigbo impeach a president elect of Nigeria becos dey fail to see eye to eye on things? Nigerians won't stand for dat.It would be unprecedented in Nigeria and unconstitutional. Ogugua88 was elected free and square and must be allowed to finish. She is not a yoruba but igbo. She represents a vast number of ndiigbo dat shares her view. Do you kill dem all for disagreeing?

U people are taking dis nairaland thing too seriously. angry

Onlytruth: Okay, here is my take.

Ndigbo si na ebe nwata n'ebe akwa na atu aka, nne ya anoghi ya, nna ya no ya! I will not translate this proverb because this is not a time to give any room for outsiders to infilterate and dictate our discourse. Onye obula were ire ya guo eze ya onu.

Ihe gbasara Eze Nwanyi Nairaland a di ka o ga enye anyi nnukwu nsogbo ma oburu na anyi akpachapughi anya. When I was elected Eze last year, I offered the position to someone I held in high esteem then. Let me say that it did not work for me (or us), but it never became an issue here. It never burdened us even for one day. Ndigbo didn't even know what happened, and I continued my work smoothly.
When the idea of an elected Eze Nwanyi came up, I had my apprehensions, but I was not in any position (one of my failures) to object to it. With hindsight now, I should have strongly objected to it then, because of the political implications to the Eze's position. It means that we have TWO not ONE authority in the leadership of Ndigbo, because the position was elected not appointed (as I did). I don't even want to go into the character or proclivities of the person eventually chosen because we are republicans, but our republican nature also advises that we should have a process of removal from office if and when necessary. I can still recall that there was an attempt to remove me from office sometime this year. It failed because majority of Ndigbo here supported me.
So, it is trite that Umu Igbo should not have their hands tied and be forced to live with someone they do not accept.

My position may not be accepted by all, but I can say that I speak for the majority when I say that Ogugua88 should be allowed to resume office first, BUT there should be a process in place for her removal from office should she stray from her EXPECTED role as Eze Nwanyi Ndigbo here. I am currently working with the incoming Eze and my council members for us to design a code of conduct for the Eze and Eze Nwanyi (which I truly hope won't continue in the future), the elections process, and issues of succession.

For now, I appeal to all Umuigbo to please stand down and let this issue die a natural death for now. Please wait, because we shall have a proper process of removal by the start of next tenure. It is one of the things I hope to bequeath to future generations of Igbo Nairalanders.

Thanks and God bless you for heeding my call to stop posting on this thread.

Seconded, wise words of a king. Ndi-igbo should not be rebels against their leader all the time.
Ogugua88 has a vested power of declaration cheesy and a right to her own opinion, which must be respected without name calling especially as a title bearer. grin

Politics › The Betrayal That Is Bakassi by Bliss4Lyfe(op): 10:48am On Nov 04, 2012
Why should treaties of yester year to which we were not party come into play. This is not Britain and China over Hong Kong. Nigerians and Camerounians were not party to those treaties and we did not ratify the modern declarations, so they are not binding.

The ICJ judgment was backed up by the United Nations, whose charter potentially allowed sanctions to enforce the courts ruling.

They stepped in as mediator. In all this time, there was opposition from the Bakassi inhabitants to being transferred to Cameroun.

They are Nigerians, whose ancestors have lived on that land since time immemorial. Their claim to the land is as indigenes, not settlers as the case with the Falkland Islands and yet the British protected their rights and have stated that unless they agree in a referendum to be part of Argentina, their sovereignty will always be protected.

They went to war to protect the islanders right to self-determination. We did not make a stand. We did not fight for our people, for the indigenous people of Bakassi.http://leadership.ng/nga/hamza_atta/39134/2012/11/04/betrayal_bakassi.html

Argument for Beyond Intellectual Property. This is an issue that can elevate communities in Africa above the poverty line, if only the multinationals and federal government would give it a try. There would be no reason to force bakassi indigence off their lands.
