I must reiterate that Equity frowns @ double standard with such strong abhorrence.
What happens to Buharis 'dogs & baboons' being soaked in blood? What about his promise of blood bath in 2011? And, what about Ameachi's threat of forming a parallel govt should APC lose?
Are the above not more inciting and violence precipitating than the rather benign and innocuous remarks of PEJ?
Before you come @ me, do well to note that I am 'apolitical'. I don't give a hoot about PDP or APC... I am simply unbiased, non- aligned and free from partisan politics. |

ozeepresh: A gentleman is a guy who appreciates a lady, respects her feeling and handles her with love and care....A gentleman doesnt condemn other guys for trying to be nice to a lady despite her physical outlook.....haba!!!these days gentlemen are scarce....we only have chicken brained boys roaming about Good def! What beats me here is how we started out talking about 'gentleman' only to end up with a sharply contrasting digression. The 'chicken brained boys' dimension shouldn't have surfaced at all... It leaves a repugnant after taste to a hitherto beautiful write up. |

Olutola88: At one point, there was a Mario girl that made many guys here act preposterously.
Each time I visited the Romance section, I saw all sorts of guys carrying her matter on their heads like Darling Yaki. Some stalking her and many saying so much about her beauty.
On one fateful night I innocently visited d Romance section & came across her picture on one beauty thread. E be like say Electricity shock me cos I was not only disappointed in her looks but the obsequious act of her sycophants also fell me flat.
My instinct instructed me 2 give “them” a benefit of doubt by asking “Is this the Mario gal many guys here always claim is so so so Beautiful”? I was like... Excuse me! I expressed my disappointment in her looks as I expected way better.
I wasn't even allowed to Land b4 one boy just jumped 4rm a corner I didn't know. He got all defensive... YES! I love soldiers, brave ones @ that. But I don't like a Nigerian soldier flexing muscles on the streets of Lagos when Boko Haram are wasting lots of innocent lives in Borno.
That boy that jumped to defend her would have made sense if he defended her Adroitly, Astutely, Diplomatically, Intelligently or Wisely. But as a Mature Gentleman, I ignored his ignorance.
The boy's moniker read Naijaboy. So, that scenario came to mind when I saw the same boy criticizing guilty boys like him. Well, I wouldn't know if he's grown now... Naijaboy's sycophantic tendencies are legendary esp when the object of worship is a seemingly 'pretty' damsel. Dude should park well cos his proclivity for 'notice me' and ITK is grand. prelinctus: Ok, let me counter this... 1) Food - Unless you are ready to start eating expired or fake products. Heck, even alomo had to put hologram seal to prove authenticity. Nafdac in this country is dead on arrival.
2) Weather - Unless you are willing to allocate 30% of your everyday budget to bleaching cream. The sun is deadly.
3) Flouride - Trust me, it's better to have flouride in your water that the things we have here. When people like terry g are into water-making business, what do you expect? Refer to 1
4) Language - Unless you are planning on moving to the rural parts of the country.
5) Culture - Refer to (4)
6)Materialism - Nigerians are worse. Do you know how much they spend on weddings(asoebi e.t.c)? Let me stop here
7) Roots - Refer to (4)
Spirituality - Wait till you are being told to pay gate fee to enter church, nobody will tell you to run back. It's happening already. Christ embassy, anybody?
9) Development - Get ready to pay through you nose. A case in point is where Chevron wanted to develop somewhere along alpha beach. The people of the land had the nerve to tell chevron to pay them first for wanting to develop their land o.
10) Racism - Unless you are from the minority tribe, don't bother coming back. Ethnicism and tribalism among Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba is at it's peak, and can never be stopped unless this country is divided. You wouldn't want that, would you? Arrant balderdash! Next time think b4 you type. |

udeh3: Who told you that Rivers are Ibos? The only tribe out of all d tribes in Rivers that speaks like the ibos are the Ikwere people. So Rivers are not ibos!
I remember the first time I came to the West, anybody that refers to me uses the word 'omo ibo ni'. It takes some level of explanation to actually let them know that I'm not an Ibo person that I'm from the south-south In case you don't know your Rivers well may I use this opportunity to enlighten you and the ignorant swathe you're delibrately misleading. Etche,Omoku, ahoada, opobo, andoni, ndoni all speak dfferent forms of the Igbo language as it is evident today in their names. It is common place today to find people from this areas with Igbo names like UCHE, ODILI, CHIBUDOM NWUCHE, CHIZOBA,EMEKA,CHIKA etc Notice I deliberately mentioned the full name of a one time speaker of the lower legislative house who happen to hail from Ahoada in Rivers State and speaks Epkeye which is a 'corrupted' version of the Igbo language. *modified * |

What worries me most is that Nigerians don't seem to have any qualms with this unbecoming attitude of out leaders who naturally are the custodian of our collective aspirations as a people. ladywriter: @Op, i totally understand how you feel. Church issue is a BIG ONE. What i will suggest is that if you know you cannot attend his church, the two of you can come to a compromise. Sit down and choose a NEUTRAL church to attend together as a family. That way you will have peace in your home and life. Your suggestion though... Why would I settle for a new church cos I decided to get married? Pray you're dispassionate in your views cos this will not go down well with most guys especially if they are very committed and involved in their Church. |
Family › Re: My Boyfriend Demands I Change My Church After Marriage by Blitz888(m): 1:59pm On Mar 09, 2015 |
Joy1706: What if I'm not feeling the presence of God in his church? Will I continue like that for the rest of my life? Feelings are too ephemeral to build any thing substantial on.. You don't feel the presence of God with your senses but rather you perceive in your Spirit cos God is Spirit and those that must worship him must do so in truth and in spirit. Feelings come and go... I would rather you dwell on more important things like making a success of your union than on trivial issues such as this. In summary; God is not the author of confusion! |
