As the window for campaign closes, the preparation for Ekiti election has been full of brouhaha for the past few weeks. Firstly it was the case of gunshot which wound Bamidele, later the incumbent governor was attacked. The top aspirants are prof. Kolapo Olusola(PDP) and Kayode fayemi(APC). Here are the reasons Fate determinant:There's no doubt, Ekiti election will determine what will happen in Osun election come August. It will also determine the fate of the two parties in the next general election Taking Ekiti from pdp: Ekiti is the only state in the southwest being govern by PDP. APC are planning everything possible to ensure that they win in Ekiti. Their victory will amount to no PDP governor in Ekiti State. Fayose doesn't want to loose: If you're not in Ekiti, you might be wondering if Fayose is the candidate for PDP. The answer is not far fetch. It's because Fayose Haye to be a looser. If PDP must come back to power in the next general election, Ekiti and Osun election is not a thing to joke with. Fayose is the frotliner for the PDP. Revenge time: If you're in Ekiti State in the last general election, you'll know what I mean by revenge. About 30000 policemen were deployed for the election. This year election is the playback of 2014 election in the state. As of now, the trend is still the same. Two incumbent:Unarguably, the two key aspirants are part of the current administration. Olusola is the present deputy governor of the state while Fayemi was a minister before is resignation. Loosing the election will leave any of them with nothing to go back to in politics....

This post is not created to promote hatred and disparity but to promote creativity and self development. Gone are the days when polytechnic students are rated as the best in the field of practical but reverse is the case in this generation has polytechnic student no longer participate fully in practical. The reasons include (1)LACK OF SELF CONFIDENCE Although 70% of Nigeria student lacks confidence to compete with their international counterpart after graduation but most polytechnic student feel empty after graduation due to the confidence they lack in themselves . Most of them don't believe in what they can achieve. Whenever they are vying for something with their University counterparts, they started having this feeling of emptiness in them... (2)INABILITY TO DEVELOP ONESELF As a matter of fact, most polytechnic in Nigeria lacks teaching facilities such as well unequipped laboratory ,library etc . unlike their University counterpart who consult textbook as recommended by their lecturers , most polytechnic student depend solely on the handout or material given to them by their lecturers therefore they limit them self to this material without developing themselves. (3)LOW SELF ESTEEM Some poly student do look down on themselves as if they are not real student. There's this saying that "whichever way you present yourself, that is the way you will be accepted". (4)DISPARITY: Due to the disparity between University and polytechnic graduates in the labour market. The morale of some polytechnic student drop whenever they think of this . That's the reason why some of them apply for direct entry after their ND/HND.... With PGD+HND, they are still not in the same level with their BSc counterparts. (5)UNQUALIFIED ACADEMIC STAFF: Leave it or take it , most polytechnics lacks qualified teaching staff. It is in polytechnic that you will see HND holder serving as teaching staff in the class room. The number of lecturers with PhD is nothing to write home about.. Most of the staffs don't develop themselves because they can reach the peak of their career(chief lecturer) with ordinary MSc unlike in the University where you will need to Obtain your Phd+many publications and a lot of research work to become a professor.... (6)POOR ACADEMIC CURRICULUM : How on earth can a student be offering 14-15 courses in a semester and the total day for the exam is a week or two. These makes them to read without understanding or to read just to pass their exams and this will affect in the nearest future. (7)LACK OF RESEARCH Most polytechnics in Nigeria still uses 19th century method of teaching to teach their student. For example,a mechanical engineering student that uses 1970 model Peugeot for their practical instead of modern cars. How will they be able to handle a modern vehicle after graduation. Most of these poly students are not exposed to research. SOLUTIONS Development: Always develop yourself to be better than your university counterpart Believe in yourself: Believe it that you can be better than your university counterpart Proof yourself to people by displaying a marketable skills. Try to acquire skills relevant to your field... For example, as an engineering student, you can learn AutoCad or as a computer science student, you can learn programming... Above it all, believe in yourself

The saying that ‘when two elephant fight, it is the grass that suffers’ best describes the situation of Nigeria electoral process. Nigeria politics is a “do or die” affair, with incumbents doing everything to hold onto their power and opponents doing as much as possible to clinch their desired seat. It is easy to understand why. Members of the National Assembly become automatic millionaires once they enter the legislative body as they earn millions of Naira from their salary, more millions from their government-issued allowances and possibly billions from brown paper bags and duffel bags containing the occasional b***e. Same thing goes to other office older from the apex rank in the political chain to the least. Many people goes into politics in Nigeria solely because of two things, to acquire wealth and to increase their fame and popularity. Analysts are of the opinion that the major problem with the country’s electoral process is the will to hold on power at all cost regardless of who gets hurt in the process. The numbers of lives that had been lost in politics is the second to that of terrorism. Ideally, the election season should be a political celebration of the Nigerian democracy in the manner that Americans describe their election season as ‘a celebration of American democracy’ . But the reality we live with is a political environment unduly charged by the desperation of partisan gladiators. Some politicians make inciting statements that are capable of tearing the country apart in the name of campaign, while some of them who have lost their shame engage in physical combats. . The masses are always at the receiving end, as the ruling party and opposition party meet on the election field. Funny enough, INEC seems to have always jilted the electorate by playing the script of its employer. Antidotes to this problem The National Assembly should legislate through a bill empowering the judiciary to appoint members into the board of INEC, people that are non- partisan with unquestionable character. Secondly, it will be of help if all elected officials should step aside four months or at most three months to the period of the general elections. This will also go a long way in solving the problem of intimidating any Resident Electoral Commissioners (REC) from doing a thorough job of conducting a free and fair election. There is also the need for all political parties to draw up sections/laws to discipline any member who makes careless statements; these sanctions must be enforced to ensure compliance. Nigerians have a role to play and the responsibility is shouldered on them to determine who wins the elections but this will not happen if they don’t vote for the right candidate. They must shun thuggery and any form of violence, regardless the pressure. With some of these points put in practice, Nigeria will be a better place for everyone. Once again Remember, *******Don't sacrifice your life for any of these politicians... Your life is more than trillions of naira *******Get your PVC so as to vote for the candidate of your choice... |

Have you ever sat down and brainstorm the reasons why some billionaire around the world don't subscribe heavily when it comes to fashion? Have you ever imagine why the founder of facebook always wear the same shirt? If your answer is yes, then find a bottle of chilled soft drink or alchi to chill yourself as we walk down the experience lane. Most of the successful techie we have around the world always stick to one or two simple wears. Example can be seen in the likes of Steve Job, Bill Gate ,Zuckerberg etc.. Here are some of the answers I got from Quora According to Daniel Georgiev There are 2 reasons. Mark Zuckerberg like Albert Einstein does not want to spend valuable time choosing clothes. Mark Zuckerberg really admires Steve Jobs, who was also famous for his only 1 outfit. If you listen to Mark presentations, he even uses “One last thing” at the end of them. All that being said, you can actually see him wearing different clothes from time to time: You can even see Mark in suit: And most of all he just doesn’t give a shit about what he wears. Making Facebook the biggest tech company is the only important thing. I’m not sure about “connecting the world”, but he sure wants everyone to use Facebook all the time and this is more important than what to wear (2)According to Nancy Steinman Steve Jobs only wore black Issey Miyake turtlenecks and jeans. "both because of its daily convenience (the rationale he claimed) and its ability to convey a signature style." (from the Walter Isaacson biography). When you think about how many decisions it must take to run a constantly evolving multi-billion dollar corporation, it's understandable not wanting to have to make one more about what to wear in the morning. (4) According to Neel Hajare In one of the first Friday Q&As of Summer 2011 after the interns arrived, one intern asked for the mic and asked something like "Hey Zuck, me and a couple of the other new interns were wondering, do you have more than one shirt?" The whole room (including Mark Zuckerberg) cracked up, but he went on to say that he wears the same clothes every day because he's busy and it makes for one less thing to think about in the morning. (5) According to stan Many people including Mark say that he wears the same type of shirt everyday because he's busy. I beg to differ. I have come to a conclusion where I can boldly say he's that teen who wanted to be someone and also had one inspiration. To be like your inspiration is one of your dreams. This is what Mark was doing. He was replicating his inspiration's style. Steve Jobs wore the same black shirt, if you have noticed. Hence the reason is blatant here. It has nothing to do with being busy; but everything to do with being a brand. In Summary , here are the reasons (1) Inspiration from Steve Job (2) He's busy and have no time for fashion (3) It's a brand to distinguish him
