Governance is not Politics....Politics can be dirty and you win because you have the notorious ways, but in Governance, there is no winning, no other way but critical thinking and implementations....

Dear Nigerian men, if you are not rich and very financially successful when you are about to marry, please be a gold digger; go for ladies that can help you financially, there are plenty of them in Nigeria and abroad. Make use of the internet social media for good, there are plenty financially buoyant single ladies in Nigeria and abroad looking for a serious man to settle down with.

Learn to be a gold digger as a single guy. Stop marrying for love, romantic love does not exist.

Marrying for love alone is a mistake in this current world we live in, marry for companionship, compatibility, financial stability and career growth. With stable income, you will never feel miserable in any marriage as a man, but being broke and married to a bad woman is worst than being sentenced to death penalty.

If you are poor or financially average as a guy, don't marry for love, marry for financial stability and compatibility.

[quote author=papyjaypaul post=131824125]But the truth is women like men to dominate them and they respect men with authority. That is what it is. I don't mean injure them or beat them but you have to be manly to be the man of the house. Women don't like a womanly man or a feminine man, they prefer the opposite. That is why when I look at gifting, if the man is responsible, I will give the woman 2/5 and the man 4/5 because only men know what responsibilities they go through. They don't get help and society still blames them if they are down

The honest truth, is, that Nigerians should sometimes wake up and see the big picture

Failure to do so in 2012 is why we are now taking harsh economic decisions at the wrong time. It was obvious that by 2011, subsides were no longer sustainable, corruption or no. We were losing billions, people were getting rich quick, and we were on the verge of bankrupting ourselves, in the midst of plenty.

Hence GEJ decision to remove subsides .

But most people came out and said No.

We missed a chance to do this painlessly. Had we done it then, we might have had some competitiors to Dangote, and NNPC would have been a proper oil company, or at least on its way to being one.

Now here we are taking a harsh decision that we should have taken eons ago

The only pleasurable thing is that it is the Ojota leaders who are being forced to take the decision themselves. Now they know why.
Sighs...

Food security - this is a work in progress as the damage that had been done to that sector over the years cannot be solved in just 12 months.however we know serious effort is being geared towards achieving this, you need to contact NADF,normal and so many agric funds out there.

Poverty eradication - there is no way you can eradicate poverty if you are not productive, many of Nigeria's human capital are in the wrong and minimally productive spheres in the economy, many of the okada, danfo and keke operators would have been more productive working on their farms or factories but they rather prefer to take those menial jobs than being productive.

Job creation - there has always been jobs but the problem we have is under employment.....I still haven't seen anyone who is ready to work and earn a living who doesn't have somewhere to go to do that.....I repeat,I still haven't seen anyone.....infact unemployment rates is worse abroad with many living on govt support abroad than we have here......there is work for anyone who really wants to work.

Access to capital- there is far higher access to capital in Nigeria today than it was 10 years ago, take that to the bank.

Your other points raised are rather too lucid to be responded to.

.

There is nothing wrong, Politicians are lying and their minions are amplifying the lies. For Nigeria to get cheap fuel, we have to own and produce a significant % of the production cost of crude oil, we own crude yes, but exploration, drilling and maintenance of an oil well is expensive coupled with inherent corruption cost which are all mostly in dollars. That's why the street is paying these cost through higher pump price. By the time VAT is increased, we will pay more for fuel and other items, thus leaving the average person less money to buy other stuffs.
Well said.

Most of the Zombie APC supporters have never seen a wellhead in their lives.

They think Dangote would refine Water into fuel, hence giving them cheaper fuel.

Lol, you're right sir.

But can you spend money you don't have? I believe the money has to come from somewhere right. Nigeria's revenue to debt service ratio in 2024 is around 68% apprx. So majority of the annual budget would be borrowed.

To get a loan from you local bank in Nigeria, there are criteria and measures you have to meet. You don't decide those criteria or policy the bank does. And when you don't have any other choice, you will do whatever the bank wants, to get the money right?

Just like your local bank, desperate countries turns to IMF which has AUSTERITY MEASURES AND POLICIES (Meaning, make life more difficult, send more people into poverty, remove any subsidy if need be to pay us back). Mind you even the most developed country subsidized basic things like medication, electricity etc.

Once you meet the criteria and get the money released from them. You can decide to use the money judiciously or waste it and run your country down. In Nigeria case, we are doing the latter and this is why Nigeria on this trajectory and in the hands of criminals like Tinubu and previous govt will never survive.

I hope you've learnt that we are actually saying the same thing but talking about different stage of the problem.

Tinubu also has the right to blame the past govt. But he knew the problem before signing up for the job and he's repeating the same mistake the previous govt made because of his greed, personal interest and corruption.

Shalom
You are right on IMF, what I don't agree on, is some clowns that Blame IMF and the West for our under development.

IMF is right in requesting for reforms, b4 they lend any country their money, its is global banking standards. just as you mentioned that private banks also carry out due diligence on the clients.

IMF is not responsible for our present or past Economic woes, our leaders and followers are responsible.

If Tinubu had a working brain, he would have not removed the subsidy and unify the exchange rate at the same time.

If IMF polices are rightfully implemented, Nigeria would be better off.
Example. The IMF advised the federal government to privatise the refineries during Obasanjo tenure, if we had done that, we would not be in this mess.

Secondly they advised Nigeria to deregulate the telecom sector, today me and you can bear testimony to the Hugh revenue and jobs created in that sector, the list is endless.

It's unfortunate, we have Useleess leaders with little or no brains.
