Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho is still assessing his squad, having only been in the job for a couple of weeks, but Spurs continue to be linked with players.

Ruben Dias, Bruno Fernandes, Victor Osimhen... they have all been mentioned in connection to Spurs in recent weeks, but the latest link is one to a player who may not end up joining.

The Sun claim Tottenham were teeing up a £20million move for QPR playmaker Eberechi Eze, with Mauricio Pochettino pushing for a move.

However, it's claimed that Pochettino's exit may scupper a move, as Eze wanted to work for Pochetino, and now Chelsea and West Ham are in the race.

It's early days for Mourinho at Spurs, but letting Eze slip through Tottenham's net would be his first transfer mistake at the club, especially if he ends up with a London rival.

Eze, 21, has been sensational in the Championship this season with seven goals and four assists, and there's no doubt that he's set for a Premier League career.

He's quick and incredibly skilful, with his dribbling and technique exciting QPR fans whilst embarrassing Championship defenders, earning some comparisons to Wilfried Zaha.

With Christian Eriksen set to leave in 2020, it would be wise to bring in another creative player who can play out wide or centrally, and whilst he isn't a similar type of play to Eriksen, he can certainly help deal with his departure.

Mourinho is getting the best out of Dele Alli right now, another player who cut his teeth by starring in the Football League with skill and talent, and Eze could fit a similar kind of bill to the in-form midfielder.

Tottenham have missed out on Championship talents in the past that have come back to haunt them, such as David Brooks, James Maddison and Jack Grealish. With Eze previously keen on a move to Spurs, they can't let him slip through their fingers.

Seeing him join a London rival would be a huge disappointment, and Mourinho should be fighting to ensure he still wants a move to Tottenham – or risk giving Spurs something of a transfer mistake given what a huge future Eze has ahead of him.
If Kane isn't leaving for Madrid, let Osimhen stay where he is or leave to another club where he is guaranteed of playing time and not Tottenham. Daniel Levy will frown at benching Kane; form or not

Villarreal/Atletico: Fire Report... The Aftermath

As you all know, Samuel Chukwueze was on fire tonight.

Well, reports just coming in say the people over at the stadium are still trying to put out the fire Chuks left in his wake...

This is the scenario below... grin

#ManOnFire
I have nothing against you or what you typed. However, the truth is, they didn't get the win. Chukwueze had no goal or assist. These matter more than inane dribbles

you are right but barca is one team i won't near if i am a professional footballer. their style and philosophy is very difficult for players from other leagues/clubs to adapt to easily. this is the major reason why the likes of dembele, griezman, coutinho before he left just to mention a few looks lost and ordinary in barca games

madrid fans are not patient due to the history and pedigree they are known of in world football which tend to make them reject being 2nd best both in the league and ucl. players are pressured to perform and when it doesn't pan out they are discarded without looking back but to me madrid team is easy to break into than barca.

barca's philosophy and style goes beyond mere tactics
What of rakitic and frenkie?

The worst defender in the Super Eagles fold presently is William Troost Ekong.
Do you watch him regularly in his plays for Udinese to arrive at such conclusion? I don't that's why I'm asking

I'll be happy if Dominic Iorfa Jnr. is invited. He has always been a good player.

I saw a few of his games for Wolves in 2015 and I was impressed. Then he played as a right back. He has lots of energy, runs tirelessly, very mobile & fast with good recovery.

He also physically strong, has positional awareness and is not easily beaten. His crosses and passes were the only weaknesses I noticed then.

I havent watched him recently but if his recent stats are anything to go by, he deserves to be invited.

I have always wanted him in the Super Eagles fold but was only pissed he K-I-Ved us.
I think it was said here last week that his crosses and passes haven't improved. We don't really need another Ekong. We need more ball playing defenders

I am excited about the prospect of having Iorfa and I would also welcome any of the German boys. Nothing wrong with having a competitive large pool to keep each and every competitor on his toes.

Bro the point is when barca comes calling any player will wanna leave and to make it worst is when you know your position is vacant at Barcelona and your salary will be higher

For examply If barca comes calling for mane tomorrow and the position is vacant, Liverpool will only make it hard but wont stop him from moving

Look at coutinho earning almost same salary with luis suarez
You only wish you had Mane but he isn't going to barca.

Leicester City have responded to an inquiry from Barcelona for their Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi by offering the 22 year old the offer of a pay rise, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

Ndidi signed a new deal in the summer of 2018 keeping him at the club till 2024 meaning the club is in no way under pressure to lose the Nigeria international ‎but there are fears that he could get his head turned by the interest from the Laliga giants.

In a bid to keep the midfielder settled the club plan to give him a pay rise on his current salary which stands around £55,000 a week. They could offer him as high as £70,000 a week to keep him settled.

Barcelona have reportedly inquired about the midfielder who is well known to coach Ernesto Valverde who isn’t entirely satisfied with the lack of steel in his midfield despite the big money signing of Frenkie de Jong from Ajax last summer.

Representatives of Ndidi will in the coming days meet with the club to thrash out the terms of the pay rise which will likely not affected the duration of his contract but will no doubt solidify the grip the Foxes have on the midfielder.
I don't mind this move for Ndisi

Because I know that he will not be benched. Then the whole world will see his talent and stop underrating him. I can't wait for him to bully Casemiro. Also, he will improve on his forward passing with Barca. A good move on all fronts

It is not about size. It is about the attributes of both strikers. Rashidi was an all out number 9. Amokachi was more of a support striker. That is why both could work in fine synergy.

Osimhen and Dessers will only work if one of them (likely Osimhen) functions as the striker that plays off the other one more. Like a Support striker. This is why I say Dessers may or may not combine with Osimhen. If both combine as all out number 9s, they could get into each other's paths.

In a Big Striker/ Small striker combo, it is obvious what each brings with their attributes. The Big striker serves as the target man who the small striker serves as roaming striker. One supports, the other plays as the all out 9. One plays off the other. So it is about attributes and not size when I mention such combo.
Now, I think I understand you better.

However, I prefer someone else to Musa. Musa isn't a smart (brainy) player

Germany youth international of Nigerian descent Karim Adeyemi has reacted to reports linking him with moves to Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool, Arsenal and Barcelona.

Barcelona recently saw a bid of fifteen million euros rejected for the Red Bull Salzburg starlet, while Borussia Dortmund have targeted him as a replacement for Jadon Sancho, who is attracting interest from Premier League and La Liga giants.

He trained with Chelsea and courted interest from Liverpool before joining Red Bull Salzburg in July 2018.

Adeyemi was awarded the Fritz Walter Gold Medal for the most promising talent in his age group by the DFB last August.

''First of all, I am pleased about such offers, which pushes me a lot," Adeyemi told transfermarkt.de.

''Still, that does not stop me from going where I want to go. That's why I do not worry so much about it and try to keep a clear head so I'm not distracted. I'm completely relaxed about all the offers. "

Adeyemi admitted that he would love to play on the same team as the best player on the planet, Lionel Messi.

''It used to be my dream to play with the best player in the world, Lionel Messi, Barcelona. I definitely want to play in a top club in a top league,'' he added.

This season, Adeyemi has been involved in 20 goals (11 goals, 9 assists) in 17 appearances for Red Bull Salzburg teams.
Good numbers

Does he star for the senior team (at least sometimes)?

Does he want to play for Naija in the future?

Italian Serie A club Cagliari are interested in signing Super Eagles hopeful Cyriel Dessers in the January transfer window, according to reports emanating from the Italian media.

Webmagazine24.it says Cagliari legend Andrea Cossu has returned to Italy with glowing reports about the Heracles Almelo goal poacher after a scouting trip to the Netherlands and has recommended that the striker should be acquired by The Rossoblu.

Dessers is in the form of his life and equaled the best half of a season in his professional career when he bagged a brace in last weekend's league match against ADO Den Haag.

Cagliari are in the market for a striker with the misfiring Alberto Cerri linked with a departure from the club in the winter transfer market.

The Sardinia based outfit are the surprise package of the Serie A so far this season, occupying the fourth position in the table with 28 points from 14 matches.

Dessers joined Heracles Almelo in July 2019 and is contracted to the club until the end of the 2021-2022 season.

The 24-year-old recently committed his international future to Nigeria over his country of birth, Belgium.
Let him be patient and play a full season first

I still maintain that I see dessers in Ajax if he continues this fine form till the end of the season

Rohr Disagrees With Pinnick On Ebere Eze, Switch Target To Ovie Ejaria

Coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr isn’t on the same page with the president of the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) Amaju Pinnick on the need to lure QPR midfielder Ebere Eze to the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

While Pinnick is keen on having Eze play for the senior national team of Nigeria ahead of England where he is now a player of their U-21 team same can’t be said about Rohr who isn’t entirely convinced by the ability of the 20 year old.

Rohr instead has his sight on Ovie Ejaria, the former Nigeria U17 trainee who is on loan to English Championship side Reading from UEFA Champions League defending champions Liverpool, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

According to findings by our editorial team, the coach has already established contact with the 20 year old who he feels will add something different to the Super Eagles midfield unlike Eze who tends to go missing without the ball.

Ejaria has been scouted by the coach and talks will be held with the forward after the busy festive period in England although it is believed that Ejaria who won the 2017 Under-20 World Cup with England is keen on switching allegiance to Nigeria.
