Car TalkRe: 230,000 Miles And Still Going Strong by Blyss(op): 11:36pm On Sep 02, 2012
Siena: The highest I've had on any of my vehicles is 543,000 miles on a '95 Audi Coupe S2. She was at 233,000 miles when I bought her, I put the extra 310,000 on her. Several trips to Europe, driving on the Continent through different countries, 4 trips to the Nurburgring.

She never missed a beat, though I replaced the turbo at 303,000 miles due to a worn bearing, and the cylinder head gasket. I must point out, the head gasket replacement was not due to failure; it was just easier to pull the head to get the turbo off.

I still service her once a year with her new owner, last visit in March this year, she was at 600,000 miles and still going strong too. cool
Damn, that's insane. cheesy The most I've ever heard of was from a friend of one of my brothers who put up 350,000 Miles on an 96 Benz.

Car Talk230,000 Miles And Still Going Strong by Blyss(op): 1:40am On Sep 02, 2012
What is the most miles you've ever put on a car you've owned? I have an old 2000 Chevy Cavalier that I bought back during my college years. I love that little car, and refuse to get rid of it, despite the fact of that I now own and have owned several modern luxury vehicles since getting my Golden colored Cavy. Many times I still prefer to drive it rather than my luxury vehicles, and old gal Goldie is loyal and still full of spunk... I refuse to get rid of her, and my wife HATES it with a passion. She thinks its an ambarasment that I still drive Goldie around often. cheesy But I don't care, I'm gonna ride her till her last sputter. cheesy Today I hit the 230,000 mark while powering strong down 95 in her, as I blew past all kinds of brand new looking luxury fancy vehicles with no problems. cheesy The old gal bobs and weaves like a champ still. wink So what is the most miles you've been able to put on a vehicle?

Shollypopz: ^^That's mercy Johnson. OLODO!!

@Blyss: Were u not d one telling me d other day that AA men do not desire Nigerian women??......
No, you must be thinking of KONY, or whatever his name is. He says that all the time on here, but I must admit that he's partially right, in that a lot, MOST BA guys, will not give an African girl who is too, too dark, and or too "African" looking in features the time a day, unless they were REALLY pretty. Most African girls who seem to attract the eye of MOST BA guys are those whom have a look in which is common among BA females; AKA those who get the "Oh, you're African. You don't look African" response. cheesy Igbo, and other SE Nigerians are heavily populated with people who have that look, and when in the US, many seem to blend ambiguously within the BA population because of it.

anonymous6: You have some points but you forget to mention something vital, the tribe where these majority of Nigerian americans are from that marry out and in most cases majority of them are from eastern Nigeria, mostly of igbo decent. Those are the ones I see fit into that trend alot but for me I am yoruba, born and raised in America, and many of females of my background married yoruba or edo, mostly the women followed by the men(including many in my family). So depending on what tribe you may be right, and what I have seen mostly amongst the people of my tribe born and raised in America many of them ended up with Nigerians and even preferred that. Your wife is igbo so it will make sense with your observation since that is the circle you mostly bump into.
Well, your observations are a bit on target in this regard. I'll admit that a rather large percentage seem to be South Easterners, this seems to be due to various reasons, but mostly based on the fact of that South Easterners are just a more open minded people integration friendly people. This is why you find so many more Igbo-Americans and other South Eastern Nigerian ethnics involved in basketball, and American Football here in the US, than you do other regional groups.

Mrs.Chima:
Black women in general are underrated. There are many talks about Black women being least desired than other nationalities.

Of course there are some Nigerian chicks that look better than some Black American chicks and vice versa.

What is your point really? Are you trying to find a wife on Nairaland? Regardless what many chatters say about some Nigerian women not marrying nor dating Black American men...they are lying.

Just be yourself and one will bite your hook one day.
I know loads of Nigerian chicks dating, married to and or engaged to Black-American guys, including my wife and her sister. I even have a neighbor who's a Nigerian Fulani woman, and she's married to a Black-American Muslim brotha. I even know a few who have only ever dated Black and white American men out of preference. cheesy So whoever it is that is stating that Nigerian girls don't connect with BA guys, I'd have to seriously question if they truly live in this nation, because from my observation, such a paring is not only present but is not even uncommon, and is actually growing rather fast.. especially among the second and 3rd generation Nigerian-American females , as more and more Nigerian-American guys are flocking to Black, Caribbean, white, Asian and Hispanic American girls, leaving behind less and less of a pool for Nigerian females to choose from for a Nigerian spouse.

Fulaman198: Boko Haram has a far different thought process, they kill and murder innocent people for no reason (both Muslim and Christian)

For me I am telling Africans to be themselves, and stop being copycats and to be proud of who they are as people.
LOL. Don't you have some cows that need tending to? undecided

I'm a Black-American, some say African-American.. and I used to think that I could not go on And life was nothing but an awful song But now I know the meaning of true love I'm leaning on the everlasting arms. If I can see it, then I can do it If I just believe it, there's nothing to it, cause I believe I can fly, I believe I can touch the sky.

I think about it every night and day Spread my wings and fly away I believe I can soar I see me running through that open door I believe I can fly I believe I can fly I believe I can fly. See I was on the verge of breaking down, Sometimes silence can seem so loud, There are miracles in life I must achieve But first I know it starts inside of me. Oh If I can see it, then I can be it. If I just believe it, there's nothing to it, Hey, cause I believe in me, oh If I can see it, then I can do it (I can do it). If I just believe it, there's nothing to it, Hey, if I just spread my wings I can fly I can fly I can fly, hey If I just spread my wings
I can fly-eye-eye-eye Hum, fly-eye-eye.

Ptolomeus: In truth you believe that?
The South Americans are more racist than the British slavers and murderers yankees?
You have not written anything against the English, or the Arabs ... but you think the South American racist ...
It would be important that you read a history book ... the books do not bite!
So may you live in England ... an imperialist country and slavery ... So it's hard for you to understand

my respects
No comment was made about the British and Arabs, in regard to racist they are because of the fact of that no comment was made stating the contrary, such was the case with the white South Americans. Next. smiley

Fulaman198: So because it is European, English is better? What makes English better than any African language or ANY language for that matter. That is a clear inferiority complex. When you say something is better than your own. What makes English better? It is your logic that is flawed. Someone with a PhD doesn't necessary have a better quality education, he just has a better quality education in his/her "field" Now I know the kind of person you are
Circumstances makes it better. Like someone's mention; if you only knew English.. you can go very far in life almost anywhere you lived, but if you only new Fulani, for say, you're not going to go very far in life outside of Fulani areas. English is superior because historical circumstances has made it so. To state this is not representative of an inferiority complex, but rather a rational thinker, who knows the world we live if today. Now you must be possibly illiterate yourself, your response to the PHD example I gave, had nothing to do with the question posted. Only a retard, would say that an illiterate elementary school dropout, was as well educated as a PHD holder. Please, continue to entertain me with your, stupidity Mr. African Foola dude. grin grin
CultureRe: Pagan9ja - I Want To Clarify Something For You by Blyss: 12:35am On Aug 22, 2012
Fulaman198: That clarifies everything, I am so glad you are not an African, because I can not imagine an African saying that English is better than his native language. Thank Merciful God ROFLLLL. Just to let you know, the West will never control a true African man/woman.
Too late, not only the west.. but now China controls vast majority of your whole nations, and have been for centuries. Your independence is only a facade of reality.
