Marriage comes with so much complexities. Most especially when the family on both sides come into the matter. If you are committed to the lady and can fulfill your promise of marrying her after the waiting period, so be it. I'm not sure her age at that time will be so much of an issue. However, if your family or hers will have a say when the time comes, it's also important to get their views right away, so you don't end up wasting each other's time and the family factor hampers the Marriage down the line. |
famolino: @ B.Musa Thnks for d info. One more thing pls, hw far is d camp frm d airport? Pls I nid answers asap.Sorry I didn't get to see your post in time. Its not so far, 20 - 25mins ride approximate. Thanks |
Kwanni: Pls how far is d camp @ Girei from Yola?In principle, the Camp is still within the state capital in Yola, maybe boundary disputes put it in Girei as acclaimed. But its not that far. It is located after the State Television Station (ATV) or Gotel TV. It is a short trip. If you desire, you can take a taxi ride from the City centre to Vinikilang. From Vinikilang, I should presume that you can get a "Keke NAPEP" straight to the camp if you desire a low budget movement. Else you can take a drop from whichever park you are arriving from to the camp. Depending on your bargaining power, I don't presume it should be over a 1K to get u there. |
Morning All. Not a Corper at the moment, but was once a corper. Adamawa is home. Just followed the thread and thought I should comment on some: Direct flight From Lagos: You have a choice of three airlines which are Arik, IRS and Medview. But Medview is the cheapest as you can get tickets for less than 30K when you book online. Most of the flights are daily, but I'm not sure of weekends for some of them. Though there will be a stopover in Abuja, you will not have to alight from the plane. Its 50 mins to Abuja and same from Abuja to Yola. For those going by road from Lagos, there are buses too, from Ijora I suppose. The Young shall Grow and Ekwos. I may recommend The Young for you as they are more reliable, though you should be ready for over 18 hours road trip. Adamawa is relatively peaceful even with the recent wave of happenings in the North. Though I can't say that much for areas around Michika, Mubi and Maiha as they have had their share of the happenings due to their closeness to Borno. The weather could be terrible at this time, owing to heat and humidity. Despite that, the people are generally welcoming, feel free to ask anywhere for directions and help when in need. You'll hardly fall for one chance as it hasn't gotten there yet. Not much to see around as its no such a big place. Though with time, you can get to navigate around and make the best of it. Enjoy your stay there while you serve the fatherland. |

Our refineries can only work to full capacity if the policies are made right. How can they function effectively if the CEO of a refinery has an approval limit? Approval for the purchase of common spare parts, on which the refineries depend on for day to day running must have to go to FEC. What a process! |
The situation in the Niger Delta region really calls for caution. The fact is the JTF is after the militants, but the consequence is that innocent Nigerians are displaced in their fatherland. Both young and old fleeing for safety. For how long shall we continue like this. The military will not lay down its arms, cos that will signify conceding to defeat owing to the number of their men taken out by the militants. One question comes to mind, where are the militants getting their supply of ammunition's from? Enough to sustain them for how many days going? our boarders are really porous. How many of such amour are in different regions of the country? Its one thing to blow up an oil installation. Crude oil is being siphoned. Do we ask ourselves how such resources are exported out of the country, where they are taken to and what is been done with it. If these can be answered, then it will go a long way to show that it is not only the militants in the creeks that are responsible for these actions but a cartel that needs to be exposed. The resultant effect is not only on the government but the entire country. When crude stops flowing, so many things will go aground. The little developments on-going will rather cease. So much needs to be done to address the situation on ground. The militants should be advised to embrace the amnesty granted by the government, there should be a cease fire and government should also ensure a holistic approach to developing the Niger Delta region. Their lands are ruined. Their waters contaminated. Whether we like it or not, we are in one country. The pain of one should be the pain of the other and that is the only way we can progress as a nation. It is not the duty of the Oil companies to develop these areas. What then will be the duty of the government. The company will pay their taxes and royalties, and in-turn develop the areas!!! I find it hard im trying to find answers as to what the government will then be doing with what they collect. Please whoever is in the position to end this exchange of fire, do something before it degenerates into something else. |
No one ever expected the 4 -4 scoreline after all. Arsenal doubtful's were really let down. Some work needs to be done with the team, but for playing against Liverpool with such a passion, Arsenal is it! |

Hi guyz, PTDF has shortlisted. I saw the list in the Daily Trust newspaper of today. The test is scheduled for the 10th of February, 2007. The venues are dependent on the diff olitical zones. Best of Luck. |
Its really pathetic. Something urgent needs to be done on our Nations aviation sector and the state of our planes. The attribution of every crash to bad weather should no longer be accepted. We have metreologists all over the nation and these people always give situation reports on regular basis. Why then should a plane fly when the weather is not condusive. We as a nation should learn to adhere to standard procedures, facilities and aircrafts. My Sympathy to the Nation, NA and affected families. May all souls of the deceased rest in perfect peace, Amen! |

Well do you say a blessing to Africa, certainly Yes. If he has been a blessing to his home country and some part of member states then thats a plus to him. But to Nigeria, then thats where the question lies. But i should also guess that Nigeria is bitting more than it can chew. Bidding for Nations cup, Common Wealth games, World cup, etc. at the same time shows that we as a country are demanding for too much. Why not try to concentrate on a single event and when the bid is lost, we can then analyze the circumstances surrounding the botched bid. Thou we r Nigerians, we would always stick to our Country, and the prayer is when a Nigerian assumes the exaulted position, the fatherland should also have its turn of favouritism. But we shouldnt be selfish in trying to have it all. One love! |

Word up, new in da block and saw the topic with a view to contribute. KD is but a nice place to be. Highly a commercial town and things are cheap. Would be surprised to find the place interesting esp when you find yourself within the city centre. There r two batches for the service year; Batch B will be starting Orientation on Sept. 5th or so and the next batch will be due in March. Cheers |
