Religion / Re: Lake Of Fire And Hell, What Are The Difference, Or Are They Thesame?? by bobblue: 4:19am On Jun 15, 2015
This is a very good question and I will invite you to listen to a 3 part message that I listened to recently about this very topic. I have had some thoughts about this, however this 3 part message crystalises alot of the truths that I had been chewing on in my mind concerning this topic
1, http://bethtikkun.com/our-living-god-the-savior-of-all/
2, http://bethtikkun.com/our-living-god-the-savior-of-all-part-2/
3, http://bethtikkun.com/our-living-god-the-savior-of-all-part-3/

"The Lake of fire" is a "container' for the very essence of God. Fire in the bible, is usually a reference to the essence of God. A lake usually has 2 sources, it is either fed from a spring or from a river. The source of the Lake of fire is the very throne of God: Daniel 7:10, Heb 12:29
The Lake of fire is a place where people will be thrown in after the final judgement Daniel 7:10;Revelation 20:12 the aim will be to bring them into direct contact with the very essence of God, for a period of time determined by God, so that those things that cannot withstand the fire in their souls will be burnt up, they will be refined, the goal is to eventually redeem them. God will not leave people in fire "forever and ever" it is inconsistent with his character. Infact there is no word for "forever and ever" like we know it, in hebrew, the word forever (olam) is either translated "ages" or "ages of ages".

The word "hell" is not even in the bible. The concept of "hell" as many know it, is from greek mythology. The word translated "hell" is actually ("sheol"-hebrew) = ("hades"-greek) OR (hinnom-hebrew)=(gehenna-greek)
Sheol is a holding place for both the righteous and unrighteous dead. From the story of Lazarus and the rich man, it appears that the"other side" of Sheol, for the unrighteous dead, is gehenna which is the temporary place of judgement for the unrighteous dead until the time of the final judgement when they will be transferred to the lake of fire after they have been convicted. Think of Jail (designed to hold individuals awaiting trial or a serving short sentences) and prison (designed to hold individuals convicted of crimes)
Remember the Lord says in Isaiah 45:7: I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.
The one who created it, has a plan to deal with it. Evil does not exist apart from God who created it and He has a plan to have good overcome evil at the end. It's a big topic, hope this gets you rolling in the right direction!

Foreign Affairs / Re: South Africa's ANC Calls Israeli Ambassador To Leave The Country by bobblue: 7:25am On Jul 23, 2014
South Africa/ANC is going down, no crystal ball is needed to determine that, for opposing Israel in any shape or form, they have brought a curse on themselves, let's watch South Africa and see what happens to that nation, it's not going to be good.
I think there is a lot of ignorance about Israel that I need to clarify. Israel is the nation chosen by God from every other nation on earth. The land of Israel was given to the children of Israel and it is their land forever. In fact the land God gave Israel stretches from the Nile to the river Euphrates and all that territory will be possessed eventually by Israel. Note that God will judge every nation with respect to how they treat Israel. Any person or nation that curses Israel is cursed and any nation that blesses Israel is blessed. Much of what you see in the media is tainted and biased against Israel. If you were ignorant, you are no longer ignorant after reading this. If you have cursed Israel in your ignorance, God is merciful and will forgive you when your repent, but if you are wilfully against Israel, you are wilfully against God and the consequences are disastrous. If you need more information or education about Israel, by all means avail yourself, I offer to assist you, there is lots of positive information about Israel out there. It is in prophecy that all nations will turn against Israel, believe me you do not want to be one of those among the nations that will be against Israel, you want to be amongst the remnant that will stand with Israel. God's eyes are constantly over Jerusalem, He weeps over Jerusalem, He weeps over the land of Israel, He weeps over the ignorance of those who oppose Israel. But He will be coming back to rescue His people from the nations, He will be coming back in judgement to destroy all the enemies of Israel. He who has an ear, let him hear.

Politics / Re: Jimoh Ibrahim Begs Christians Nationwide Not To Work On Thursday by bobblue: 7:24pm On Jul 10, 2014
Well from what I have read about Jimoh Ibrahim, his conduct does not seem to match his profession...it sounds like prophecy in the mouth of Balaam...regardless believers in Yeshua should get on God's (Jewish) Calendar, Yom Kippur or the Day of Atonement in 2014 starts from Sunset of October 3 - Sunset of October 4, and yes, all Jews or Israelites and all those of us from the nations that have been grafted in should join in the fast...forget those arbitrary 90 or 100 days fasts that are not mandated in scripture...let's get biblical!

Enyema was overworked. Our defence .i.e. Yobo was weak...and we lost the game after Onazi's departure...I almost feel his injury was strategically planned and executed...that was a red card offence...We should have got a penalty for that bearhug that was given to Osaze...and we had no capable substitutes for almost any position

As far as I'm concerned, FIFA is a European organization, referees are controlled by FIFA and the 'favorites' are usually helped to win...Arjen Robben dived obviously and the referee bought it, Mexico was the better team and this game should have gone into extra time at least, this is why I can't understand soccer

Religion / Re: Pastor Kumuyi's Son Apologise, controversy finally laid to rest by bobblue: 8:50am On Jun 30, 2013
I was a serious member of deeper life for about 10 years...I think looking at the issue from one perspective, if I were John, I might have thought of doing my wedding in another denomination out of respect for my dad...I might have consulted with/discussed it my dad and disagreed with him in private and not spring it as a surprise on him...I totally believe he did no wrong, in the sense that there is absolutely nothing wrong, in my opinion with his bride making herself look beautiful on her wedding day, but sometimes doing the right thing the wrong way can be a problem. God judges the heart, what was the motive behind doing the wedding the way it was done, was it to prove that he is more enlightened than his dad? On the other hand, if he did discuss it with his dad and his dad had no problems with it, or if his dad said, 'you make the decision it's your wedding'...then maybe there is more to the whole episode than we know.
In my opinion, the ultra conservative bridal dress of deeper life members does not hold water as per scripture. We should be studying Jewish weddings to learn how weddings are done and understand their significance.
One last thing, I read some people's comments about 'making or not making heaven'...Jesus taught us to pray ...'thy kingdom come', it is not about 'going to heaven' but heaven coming down to earth...'thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven'.

OmolodMilkman93: sir, pls wat re those dates?

Here is a sample of a calendar who's dates have any significance to God, God's calendar if you will: http://www.chabad.org/calendar/view/month.asp?tdate=1/1/2013 An example of a date to watch out for is 'Tishrei 1' every year (after sundown on Sept 4 in 2013, it changes every year on the Gregorian calendar), that's a significant date in God's calendar, it's the day the feast of trumpets (Roshashana) begins or 'the day of the awakening blast'

Nairaland / General / Re: What Is The Significance/reason(s) For Cross-over Night? by bobblue: 11:47pm On Dec 31, 2012
The point is to educate (religious) people and make them realise that there is nothing special about that date. They can go to sleep without feeling guilty about not attending some 'watch night service'
Nairaland / General / Re: What Is The Significance/reason(s) For Cross-over Night? by bobblue: 11:33pm On Dec 31, 2012
I would not recommend going to places you do not feel comfortable with, however, my point is that there is nothing significant about that date and those who have a religious belief that there is something special about that day and they must be at church praying through 12 midnight on that particular day, well it is good for their psyche but they should not be religious about it, as if those of us who do not see anything special about that day are somewhat in the wrong
