0coded80: thanks for hitting the nail on the head. you are the only one given reliable information despite being a student. kudos to you. this is the kind of qualities expected to be exhibited by youth of today. now students are better informed not to fall for lasu bait when 2nd putume is advertised next time. be that as it may methinks this year 2nd putume is exceptional in the sense that the advert was necessitated by low patronage of lasu 1st putume thus giving rise to capacity underutilisation. it would have been different if lasu did not increase sch fees and 1st putume was highly attended then it would have been justify to use lopsided approach to 2nd putume. This year 2nd putume was because lasu need to fill students available capacity and as such gives incentives to students to participate therein as such I see it as an extention of first putume and merit standards should have been applied in the following order. Admit all Lagos state indigene with 45% score and above students from other states to fill available capacity thereafter on merit descending order of score. A situation where there are vacancies after lag students fully admitted and 1-10 best students from other states are not giving admission on merit is not just and appalling. let me thank you once again for being a pillar of support and motivation to your fellow students folks. God will reward you in abundance and may your parent not have cause to weep over you IJN 1 Like |

kleznoni: please be objective in your analysis no one says lasu should not favour indigene. with lasu previous transparent system of admission there are cut off for indigene such as 45% in most cases one would expect that given capacity all that meet this cut off from lag must be admitted. before the admission list was released we did a lot of forecast and analysis of admission chances base on historical past trends and coded 80 published as a guide dept cut off and in coursed like banking with over 700 students he declared that students from other states are not likely to be admitted. if you analyse the admission list very well you will see that some students of Lagos state origin that merit admission where not admitted whereas students from other states were given admission. this is a lopsided admission process the person 200 on result list of banking & finance is not from lag likewise the students listed In my earlier post are all from Ogun state as I stated earlier that I am using pub admin and Ogun state as case study in my analysis |

Brannyslim: Albeit 2nd merit list on the way because av not seen list that specifically address 2nd postume candidates which lasu targeted to fill un occupied vacancy due to low students admission. definitely this sets of students are those failed or denied admission by Funaab and other universities that doesn't have transparent admission process as Lasu. They recourse to lasu as last resort and for years of lasu transparent admission process which seems to be deviated from nau. Lasu should not portray the image that 2nd postume was done jez to rake in money ion shorterm cos that will be a wrong financial strategy cos more money can be made admitting more people on merit as we still have total admission in some courses less than 100 |
Education / Re: Lasu 2014/2015 Admission process by bobbyspeed(m): 2:59pm On Nov 23, 2014 |
@coded 0coded80: I will disagree with you on merit admission may be merit applies only to first putume but not to 2nd putume. admission list released so far for 2nd putume is subjective and highly corrupted shattered the dreams of many highly intelligent students who merit admission with hard earn high score. This is at variance to merit admission standards Lasu is known for. if Lasu did not release another merit list that specifically target 2nd postume exam candidates posterity will judge the school administrators and God will not forgive them. let go on empirical analysis using pub admin and Ogun state as case study. the highest scorer on other state list Taiwo Olawale David was not given pub admin but economics. Where is objectivity in the list. econs is not advertised and sat for in 2nd putume. no 2 to 10 on other state list with min score of 55% are not admitted because they did not runs their admission whereas the following people with lower score from Ogun state are admitted for pub admin. 1251 Aina Janet Toyin 177 on result list 45% 1252 Akinpelu nafisat o 79 on result list 50% 1259 Johnson ifeoluwa O. 47% 1262 Odunsi victor abayomi 109 on result list 48% 1264 Oloyede Silifat Opeyemi 87 on result list 49% 1279 olatunbosun omomayowale 50 on result list 53% This is jez to mention a few names to buttress the injustice of lasu demerit list. in banking and finance no 200 on the list with lower score from other state 55% was admitted a lady I know and many more like that. we are wise next time to know that lasu has deviated from merit admission standard and we runz next time 1 Like |

We Will Not Recognize The Outcome Of Any Rigged Elections, APC Insists, Slamming Presidency The All Progressives Congress (APC) has slammed the presidency’s agitated response to its warning that if the 2015 elections are rigged, the party will not recognize the outcome and will go ahead to form a parallel government, saying that represents the stand of the party. by SaharaReporters, New York Nov 21, 2014 1.7K 42 52 The All Progressives Congress (APC) has slammed the presidency’s agitated response to its warning that if the 2015 elections are rigged, the party will not recognize the outcome and will go ahead to form a parallel government, saying that represents the stand of the party. All Progressives Congress In a statement issued in Lagos on Friday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said that what Gov. Rotimi Amaechi said at the APC's Salvation Rally, which has now rankled the presidency into a state of delirium, was simply to reiterate the stand taken by the party before the last Osun State Governorship election. ''Those who are fretting about this statement are those who are planning to rig the elections and they should be warned that Nigerians will no longer accept the outcome of any fraudulent polls. Those who incite the people are those who steal their mandate. ''What we made is a conditional statement. If A happens, then B will follow. That means if elections are not rigged, there will be no problem. It is therefore laughable that anyone will call that statement treasonable,'' APC said, adding that there is no higher treason than the subversion of the people's will. The party said it was common knowledge that anywhere in the world where elections have been rigged, the consequences have been dire, and Nigeria will not be an exception. ''Let us remind the presidency, in case it has forgotten, that election fraud triggered a civil war in Algeria in the early 1990s, led to the killing of over 1,000 people in post-election riots in Kenya in 2007/2008 and fired a near revolution in Iran in 2009/2010. Electoral frauds also corrupt democracy and breed dictatorship, and risks making the people to lose confidence in democracy. Why then would any government react violently if warned against election rigging?'' the party queried. It said that instead of issuing threats and engaging in name calling, the presidency should simply brace up to ensure that the forthcoming elections are not only free, fair and credible, but are seen to be so by Nigerians and the international community. APC said it was necessary to constantly warn the PDP and the Federal Government not to tamper with the 2015 polls because of their penchant for electoral desperation, which manifests in the intimidation of the opposition and the militarization of elections, disposition to anarchy and propensity for impunity. It noted that the process leading to the 2015 polls was already flawed, with moves to disenfranchise millions of Nigerians by making it impossible for them to either register or get their Permanent Voters Cards, and the plot to depopulate the strongholds of the opposition. ''PDP and the governments it sired, especially at the centre, are lawless and anarchic. That's why they can unleash the police against federal legislators in an attempt to force a removal of the Speaker of the House of Representatives. That's why a state under the control of the PDP will use seven lawmakers to remove the Speaker in a 26-member House of Assembly. ''Because it is said that eternal vigilance is the price of freedom, we will constantly warn the PDP and the Federal Government not to tamper with the 2015 elections. We will constantly chide them for trying to institutionalize impunity. We cannot and will not be intimidated by an uptight presidency,'' it said. ''The PDP and the Jonathan Administration are the masters of impunity, and they will not hesitate to exploit any sign of docility in the face of their evil intentions on the part of the opposition. The lessons are there: Had the members of the House of Representatives been docile on Thursday when remote-controlled security agents invaded their premises and barred them from entering, Tambuwal would have ceased to be the Speaker by now. ''For us, the gloves are off. We will no longer engage in any nicety as long as some people are bent on thwarting the will of the people through electoral fraud. All we are demanding is a free, fair and credible election. All we are saying is that no one should incite the people by stealing their mandate. How these demands can be construed to mean treason is as baffling as the do-or-die disposition of the ruling PDP to elections,'' the party said. Copyright©2014 Sahara Reporters, Inc. House Speaker Tambuwal Says He Is Ready To Face The Police The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal has reacted to the invitation by the Nigerian Police in Abuja. by SAHARAREPORTERS, NEW YORK Nov 21, 2014 1.6K 75 98 The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal has reacted to the invitation by the Nigerian Police in Abuja. The speaker who was earlier today declared wanted by the Nigerian police however warned the police from partisanship. In a statement signed by his media aide, Imam Imam, Tambuwal promised to honor the date with the police authorities but cautioned the police to remain politically neutral. Speaker of the House of Reps, Aminu Tambuwal See full text of the statement below: The attention of the Hon Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal CFR, has been drawn to publications in the media to the effect that the Inspector General of Police has ordered that he, Speaker, be invited to the Force Headquarters and that he be arrested if he resisted. The Honorable Speaker wishes to state that he is a law abiding citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria who has no immunity against arrest and prosecution except privileges as may be provided by the Legislative Powers and Privileges Act. Accordingly , the Hon Speaker states for the records that he is available, ready and willing to answer any lawful invitation from any of the Security agencies on any matter for which they may require his attention. The Speaker expresses dismay at the unprofessional conduct of the Nigerian Police in the attempt to stop him from accessing the House of Representatives chambers on the 20th November 2014 to preside over the Special Session of the House on the State of Emergency Extension requested by Mr President, for which he had recalled members from their working recess. Most disgraceful is the false statement later issued by the Police in which they claimed that in the lawful exercise of their duties “ Alh Aminu Tambuwal CFR, arrived the venue with a motley crowd, who broke the cordon, assaulted the Police and evaded due process”. This blatant falsehood coming from a law enforcement agency, that is expected to be neutral and lawful, is unfortunate, to say the least. For the avoidance of doubt, the Hon Speaker came to National Assembly accompanied by Hon Members as is customary during any sitting of the House. They all came with their official vehicles but were disallowed from driving into the premises. Certainly Hon Members, who arrived the precinct of the National Assembly in response to a call to perform an urgent, critical national assignment, cannot be described by any self respecting institution as “a motley crowd “ It is important to remind the Nigeria Police Force that as a public institution that provides common services for all the arms of government, they must not allow themselves to be used by one of the arms to undermine the others. ifyrosky: your best is to chk jamb brochure and see Lasu requirements for mgt tech. there are faculty and departmental requirements in jamb brochure some of which are adapted from NUC BMAS basic minimum acceptable standards from where I alerted you that mgt tech is an hybrid course that blend mgt science with natural science. to me since its group under faculty of social and mgt science I don't think you will required pure science subjects like physics & chemistry as condition precedent for admission. however it it had been group under faculty of natural science as in the case of statistics you may need pure science subjects. All told check the jamb brochure and see what Lasu submitted to jamb as admission requirement |

The course is not advisable for someone not good in science because physics, chemistry, engineering, drawings, are compulsory subjects that must be passed before graduation. Its an hybrid course that blend commercial or management subjects with technology (science) subjects with two areas of specialisation for graduation. Transport mgt tech (applied science) Project mgt tech( mgt science) You chose subject combinations that tag your line of specialisation as you move from 200L to 500L. I almost fall to the bait with the word management technology hoping its a pure commercial course but holy spirit directed me to chose pub Admin. Later when i saw the attached publication i was like sing " i jez wanna say baba ese o , i jez wanna say adupe, thank you lord, thank you lord'" Alas ifrosky if you are good in maths and English you need no fear. |

Empirical facts shows that funaab dont have enough capacity for management science courses and failed to increase capacity to accommodate increased numbers of student aspring to read management courses. The admission process is very biased towards colmas aspirants and about 70% of the admission is skewed towards predigree students, 20% for those their parents highly connected with VC or politian and 10% likely for merit. Your sure route to gain admission for your course is predigree. Go and read this thread from page 0 for requirement and from page 160 or frm August post utme result was released and you will understand the injustice done to colmas students. It baffles me the kind of purported elder Godsyss is. An elder dont dance an open shame in d market. Rather elders are supposed to uphold moral standards and ethics worthy of emulation by the younger folks. There is dignity in labour and hardwork i expected Godsyss if truly an elder to encourage d younger folks to hold tenetly to good moral standards and pray to God to crown their efforts to secure admission and if that fails they should know its not d will of God for them at that point in time and with hardwork and seeking wisdom from God their admission could be sealed by God at his own(next) time. God is not slack concerning his promises towards us for a day is like a thosand day in the sight of God. Delay is not denial if u fail ds time that does not mean you won't succed nxt time with hard work and prayer to God forsuccess.
