Its just that funaab admission standard purpurtedly claimed to be on merit and integrity have been compromised. A uniform admission standard is not applied across board by university mgt as we have in other university bfr it

As we have putme score of 54 and 63% which is above 45% claimed to have been set for colmas not given admission.
Anyone with email of prof mrs badmus who head admission committee and that of VC should post it here so that we occupy their mail box with empirical facts of their bias in colmas admission.

We need to sensitize other unsuspecting Nigerian students accross social media to avoid chosing the school to study management science.

Sir, your assumption is wrong. Many got 35-37 in PUTME plus 40+ composite and were admitted on the MERIT/FIRST BATCH LIST.



Last year, a list was secretly released by FUNAAB and it was not updated on the school website but we were able to confirm that from online friends that dropped their regs for confirmation--It was after the first and second list....... Though the school is most like to update us on the second list, a lot of crazy things........

Why setting admission standard of composite or statistical weighted average performance score of students from PUTME, WAEC AND JAMB only for d school to discard composite and use PUTME score as a single criteria.

my own thought abt the direct entry list so far, u know when the first list for the jambite was released then no DE list was release due to d FSP n FMP prog n immediately d student ended their prog, DE list dropped.. I saw those admitted on the DE list as those Wu shld have been on the first list(bt awaiting the FSP n FMP student) n looking @ d number of jambite that was admitted on the newly list, i see them as the replacement of the students dat couldn't meet up with d acceptance fee deadline(jst saying oo) bt all d way, let await the update on the skul website...

Av once posted on this thread that av lost confidence in the purprted integrity and merit standard of admision process of funaab as it pertain to colmas students.

The fact that they downplayed the composite score and elevates only the post utme score which is jez a single component of the composite score to admit student is cause for worry and shows that there is no objectivity and fairness/equity in the admission process for colmas students.

Composite score is a statiscal weighted average score which reflects overall performance of a student in Waec, Jamb and post utme exam which is very good and improves on the admission process. It also eliminates a single criteria selection benchmark or index which is likely tainted with fraud and cheating via examination malpractices which is usually aided by jamb and waec special centres created for the rich parents' children.

With composite or weighted average score this single index of high jamb score or waec score achieved via exam fraud puts such students at admission disadvantage in funaab which is good.

The composite score should have been used to set a transparent departnental cut-off marks and these marks can be increased say from 63% to 73% if there are plenty students competiting for admission in a department say economics.

With this standard publish transparently merit would be uphold and students who failed to get admission will know he lost gallantly on merit and no bojuboju or deception..

Funaab is being deceptive by not annoucing publicly their departmental cut-off marks for admission.
Av posted earlier that admission to colmas is skewed towards the predegree students whose parents can afford closed to 200k for predegree course. Funaab owe it a duty in this coming 2015 jamb to disclose as a material fact in jamb bronchure and newspaper advertorial that their admission into colmas is reserved for predegree students if they cant expand capacity to accommodate increasing student applicants.this disclosure will serve as a "caveat emptor" i.e let the buyer beware as common im law of contract. Having disclosed then any student who want to take the risk of taking funaab as his first and most preferred choice university to study management science do so at his own risk because the only sure route is predegree.

We have people posted on this thread that they have post utme score of 63% even higher than 45% set by the school and a composite of over 60% and yet not given admission into colmas.This is very demotivating and apalling. Ordinarily the composite score should suffice for admission irrespective of how low the post utme score because the post utme score is a component of the statistical weighted average or composite score.

Now composite score is played down while post utme score is elevated for admission into colmas even students who score above post utme score of 45% set by the school are being denied admission. Where lies the integrity, equity and fairness of funaab admission for colmas students.

My last line someone posted that colmas students are unlucky because they cannot be given courses outside colmas but this is not true because for econs students they can be given course in statistics which is related and always have low student intake but the problem is that statistics is under colnas and physics and chemistry i guess is a utme requirements for college of natural science.

Teenzy: Pls people in d house.....I went to d seconday sch I wrote my WAEC to collect d original result which I'll use during d screening bt when I got there, I seached 4 it but my result wasn't amongst others(and some other students as well)....D principal told me it was a mistake from WAEC cos my name was registered...I went to WAEC office today and was told that d school would write a letter before they start processing which they said might take 6months or 1year...I reall don't know what to use for screening...pls anybody with an idea..tnx in anticipation..

U shld be able to apply direct to waec for your result but it will be addressed and sent to Funaab direct however if you roja d staff they can get it intercepted and given to you.have done that before in the 80's. Go back to waec and parley with a staff that may have compassion on your plight

I dont wanna follow the line of thought a course being lesser and other superior.

There is no course that doesnt have its relevance all one need is to research on its relevance and unleash the potential inherent therein. If the course is not relevant to the neeed of the economy the university system will not design curriculum to build manpower to take care of the industrial manpower labour need in this regard.

To survive in this modern globalised world you need to be a multi-task and versatile person. Mind you, the university system is not an end in itself but a means to an end so it doesnt matter the course you read in the university because the course is not a function of wealth as we have many in our society who are illiterate or not educated beyond secondary school and yet are millionaire or billionaire employing the so called graduates and engage consultants in area they lack knowledge in their business.

The university education is just to get you informed and prepares you for challenges ahead of you in life. Being a graduate should make a difference to get result in a complex environment and adapt you to any situation you found your self and excel and dont have it that your course in the university determine how great you will be

For instance Ambrose somide on AIT & raypower radio studied Town & regional planning at the then Ogun State Polytechnic but he has carve a niche for himself in broad casting likewise one of the lady newscaster on AIT TV read micro biology i think jumobi adegbesan if i get the name right she is also doing well in broadcasting.

Likewise if you take a survey of most of my chartered accountants colleagues who qualified in the 90's are those who have degree in engineering and science related courses. Due to government not creating employment in science and engineering field they look at it that they can excel in accounting profession with their mathematics and science background and they saw that opportunity and tapped into it.

My sons and daughters being a graduate irrespective of your course is enough to unleash the critical thinking and enterpreneural spirit in you to excel all you need is to be strategically focussed by scanning your environment for opputunities which surrounds you and take advantage of it while mitigating your self against threats in your environment.

To this end i will advise those who have been given admission for any course within the college or faculty to grab the opportunity and dont waste your time, you can then build specialization in your primary interest through professional certification and at master degree level.

For Bimfo pardon me if its not you dont waste your time going for predigree and writing another jamb. Its time and money wasting adventure. Grap the course Funaab gave you and unleash your potentials and finally God will see you through to the ladder of success because its only Baba God that elevates and not by might or man wisdom.
