wanderlust007: Dats a fallacy u are commuting bro... I'm sorry to say dis bt I font think UV ever been to d skul, (just kidding ni o) we all kno dat they just built a structure for man agent students and I'm sure they'd already planned to increase d capacity and all dat, additional lecture halls are being built too, if u want smtin to work out well, UV got to plan ahead. do u kno hw many yrs it took dem to plan b4 implementing Colmas itself?.. any1 wu av been in a leadership position in any organization no mata hw small wil agree wit me dat planning Its nt an easy task. Rome was nt built in a day, it has to b a gradual process... remember, its a science skul, at least sm of its counterparts are yet to implement management science courses. U shldnt giv wat u don't av.. even UI (A skul Dats twice d age of FUNAAB) CNT admit up to 2000students fr management courses... last yr, FUNNAB admitted more students Dan UI (in general). But I'm sure they av plans.. it just needs tym

Fallacy you say but you havnt define the type of fallacy as I could recalled during my university days in late 80's/early 90's there are varous types of fallacy we are thought in logic as a compulsory faculty course.

As a chartered Accountant and a finance professional i know wht strategic planning entails and this is confined within the realm of SWOT analysis with a defined planing horizon or time.

I quote you " planning is not an easy steps for those in leadership position" having this kind of notion means you have plan to fail and cant achieve your set goal.

A proactive and strategic thinking requires that funaab
1. Set objective and goal standards
2. Define time plan to achieve the goals
3. Evaluate the adequacy of present materials and financial resources to achieve such goals
4. Arranged for funding to meet up with the goals.
5. Envisioned further opportunities inherent in the goals and ensure that adequate messures are made to maximise to the full advantage of the university the expansion and growth in the colmas students enrolments.

In the light of the above, there is opportunity for funaab to make more money from increased demand from university admission by colmas jambites the university administrators should have since 2011 colmasinaugurated been gradually increasing supply capacity to meet up with students demand for admission.

You said it all Rome was not build in a day hence the need for the schools to increase capacity over time to meet up with demand.

Best is to disclose their capacity for colmas and percentage reserved for their predite so that jambite will be well informed in chosing alternative schools they will get higher chances or degree of probability of admission success. Enough of using colmas jambite money to eat bean cake.

ayswags: At funaab admitting up to 500 student in a departmant is a dream in futility. The normal NUC(Nigeria university commission) directive is for management courses to have nothing more than 100 students in a class.
While engineering should have nothing more than 40.And guess what, funaab in it's usual "omoluabi" attitude is the only university obeying this directive.Cos unilag admits nothing less than 100 students in it's engineering department same with other schools.Na only funaab be "omo gidi".
Lol.

Omo gidi my foot! With all d money they raked in from mgt science students since 2011 it is expected that the school authority should have increased capacity to accommodate upsurge in mgt science students enrollment.

They have the statistics to make them proactively plan for building additional class rooms.

U said NUC directive is 100 student per class. To me this does not translates to 100 students per drpartment as such funaab has enough land space to build at least 5 blocks of class room for each Dept in colmas

Doing this will accommodate at 500 students per 5dept in colmas and at least 2500 students can be admitted yearly in colmas and thus reduce tension and using jambite money chop bean cake.

The funaab administrators are bereft of strategic thinking.

phemmyjohnson: This is how it is every year,
Excellent scores at the end of the admission year
Still go home sad. Oh yea! Its all about management courses..
I repeat, If funaab doesn't increase the admission capacity for management Science,
aspirants will continue to experience this shiit even after their excellent scores passing the cut off marks every year..

Imagine!!
Capacity for Management science is barely 500+
Automatic Predegree management Students are 230+ [I.e let's say 250]

The free spaces left for jambites is 250+
Even now that Few Non-predites have been admitted on this 250+ slots left for admission on 1st batch list..

A reasonable person can deduct the number of spaces left now for 2nd batch...
Buh who says You will not be among those that will be admitted on 2nd batch..
Its all about grace of God..
#Behopeful..

I expect dt with 5dept in mgt science faculty average students in each dept should at least be 500 making total of 2500 students. Even schools dt av lesser capacity n big structures like funaab av high student intake.

Jez as i posted earlier if funaab knows dat na bean cake dey want take colmas jambite money chop. They should make full disclosure in jamb bronchure to that effect so that aspirants will be guided on the risk of loss nd no admission following jambite route than predite and chose another school.
I may not mind if they didnt disclose this that only guaranteed entry route to colmas is predigree to sponsor an open newspaper advertorial nxt year to serve as caveat to incoming jambite and support with facts gathered on this thread n dt of last year.
With this any jambite who get liver can take d risk of chosing funaab.

We can start to occupy funaab colmas accross social media to increase awareness n sensisitation so that jambite money den no go take chop moinmoin again ooh. I cant jez reconcile a putme score of 60 or compo score not getting admission be it colmas or not.

ayswags: Lol the thing is colmas only has only 5 courses. And I think a little more than 500 students are admitted yearly in the college.Don't forget that the predegree students takes more than half of this slots so the remaining slots is left for the jambites to scramble for.imagine more than 2000 people fighting for a little above 250 slots.
Your guess is as good as mine.So getting into colmas is survival of the fittest

phemmyjohnson:

My questions Sir!!!

Is there any university in Nigeria that offers predegree and doesn't make peferential treatment for predegree aspirants than jambite??

Is there any university that doesn't admits predegree student b4 jambites??

Is there any university that doesn't admit lower predegree students than jambites with high scores??

This is not a matter of funaab, other universities in Nigeria does such..
The problem with funaab is the admission capacity.
You can not compare funaab admission capacity with other schools.. C'mon!

Unilorin admits upto 9000 aspirants,
Unilag admits upto 7000+ aspirants
UNN admits upto 6000+ aspirants
ABU admits upto 7000 aspirants
OAU admits upto 5000+ aspirants

Compare dis to our dear funaab that admits just 3500+ aspirants..

This is the reason predegree Is costing Most jambites admission and thus very Obvious in Funaab...

Other universities above also admits predegree students first before jambites buh its not costing their jambites with great scores their admission because they have Large admission capacity..

So let's not critisize funaab on admitting predegree students with lower marks..

Thanks am not critising funaab unduly, try to understand. The school you mentioned have existed before funaab and have expanded capacity.

Since funaab knows it has limited capacity the admission should have been made to be proportional. I can afford the 185k but i dont consider it an option cos i know my children stuff. My first son in 200L elect/elect got admitted on merit in first batch list.

Since i dont want my son go to other school because of proximity to lagos and my both parents from abk am having a change in strategy to consider predigree option if my son was denied again this year admission.

But this will not be a level playing fied for others. Tell me if all parents muzzle fund to pay for their children predegree does it mean no jambite will be admitted?

Funaab should look into proportionality if their student admission in relation to capacity so that all can be given level playing field.

But your rejoinder did not address student with putme lower than 40 given admission to the disadvantage of student with higher score. Can you then say the school admission is merit standard and not man no man as widely proclaimed.

fikfat: funaab gan na wire o,dem sey d standard of d skull is high nd yet they re admittinh predite wit 180 nd 30 in d post utme despite all d extra lesson, reading all nite most of dem do not meet the jamb cutoff mark nd dey said funaab only admit outstanding student.

Av lost confidence in d integrity of funaab admission process because a level playing field is not created for all the would be students.

With comments so far on d thread last year and now wherein students with lower post utme are given admission over those with higher score on merit. The secretive selection process without cut off mark publicity is not objective enough and it negates the standard the school is claimed to have and assurances given to we parents by the school councilor after the VC addressed parents at the canopy stand on post utme exam date that the admission process is integrity based and no one can influence it and advise parents not to waste their money on any officer for the admission.

But its like its tending to man know man when postume as low as 30 are given admission and students with higher score are denied. In a game rule must be transparely set for all participants and any who did not win will know he lost objectively.

For instance my 2nd son to be in d sch last year has composite 54, putme 38, jamb 230 was denied admission for econs because they said senate decides that putme below 40 cant get admission whereas we read of student with less than 40putme gained admission. This year my son has putme 42, compo 55.5% jam 247 this are not bean cake yet he and student of mgt science with higher score are yet to be offered admission as read on this thread. Where lies the level playing field and equity in competition. If you set a standard let it apply to all. During our days of non putme jamb score of 247 is enough to gain admission in any university.

Funaab should just say its not obeying NUC and jamb guidlines on admission because a situation where about 70% of admission is reserved for their pre degree students whose parents have 185k to disadvantage of students whose parents cant afford it is not good enough and objective based as the school councilor was emphatic that their predegree students will be given preference because of money factor

Funaab should be bold that their admission is strictly by predegree so that parents would stop wasting their money seeking admission for their children in the university.

Lets keep the faith that the 2nd list will do justice to mgt science aspirants

isoh: Good news to all aspiring candidates who do not
meet up with the requirements for admission into
any University in Nigeria(private University
inclusive), thinking the next logical option is applying
to a polytechnic or college of education or wait for
another UTME.
Do you know you can still gain admission into
200level come next year? Yes 200Level!
The alternative to admission into University without
UTME(Jamb) is the INTERIM JOINT
MATRICULATION BOARD EXAMINATION(IJMBE)
This program is an Advanced Level(A/Level)
course regulated and conducted by Ahmadu Bello
University Zaria. Applicants gain admission into 200
level in any of
Nigeria's private or public university that
accepts it as a criteria for admission. The program
is open for courses in Science/Engineering,Social
sciences, Arts and Humanities
The program (IJMBE) as articulated on page 4, item
2.2 of the JAMB brochure, runs for less than a year
during which candidates will receive lectures in
preparation for the final examination(coming up by
February 2015)
During the program you will be groomed
extensively on your subject combinations. The
subject combination is being determined by the
course you want to study in the University(as
applied to UTME). For instance, a student who
wants to study Law will offer Literature-In-English,
Government and Economics/ Business
administration.
The Requirements for the Program is a complete O/
Level Result (Max of 2 sittings) and 7 Passport
photographs.
Candidates with deficiency in Mathematics and
English Language can also apply as they will have
the opportunity of registering for any/both subjects.
With IJMBE, your University admission is
guaranteed simply because provisions has been
made for intensive and effective lectures coupled
with an environment that is conducive for learning.

For more info/ questions/private chat, you can
reach me on 08035812144 or log into

I don't think Funaab accepts IJMB. if you have evidence contrary to this fact please drop it here for us to be beta informed

@dharray99.

To some extent you might be right that not all information will be on Funaab website and we should not expect it to be so.

information may be classified into primary and secondary according to its priority of importance to the school authority. so just as you are accustomed to primary examination rules in both your WAEC and JAMB that you are not allow to bring in your phone to the exam venue as it is expected to be a norm for student by now. Funaab can't be blamed or expected to put such on their website. for example in chams jamb centre in Ikeja all phones were collected and registered by agents for a fee of 100 naira which I paid for my son.

on the other hand primary information that goes to the root of admission process is expected to be uploaded on the website cos not doing this will not give every students level playing field.

In this vein, I seek clarification from the VC when he visited us at the canopy stand reserved for parents why the information about essay writing to conform to times newroman and not more than 750 words and to be submitted in a polythene envelope was sent late and we were not alerted by email and SMS as was previously done so that one can quickly visit the website. I ask him that u hope this wasn't a deliberate act to scheme students out of admission.
The VC responded that his sorry for network time lag in delivering the information timely to all students as many are affected. be that as it may whether the essay is more than 750words so long its 2pages as originally communicated it will be considered whether it is submitted in an A4 envelope or not.

he further said that the intention of the essay was to ensure that parents n children sit together to agree on a vision of what the child one to do in school as they know that no how parents must have been involved in build up to essay written.

The school councilors who later addressed the parents gave an insight into the school admission process and advise that our children will be admitted on merit having meet the criteria set out as the school is very competitive and the Prof mrs that head the admission committee is a no nonsense woman and VC or her husband can't influence her decisions except the result of the children as login and garbage out of the computer. so we were advised no to waste our money like a maga to any staff to help in the admission

hope this info will help and diffuse some tension as we enrich this thread with matured contributions and substantiated info.

#peace# to all

You stated that your source was #copied. We all have a duty to take first step to verify info with analytical mind and if it cannot be sustantiated as reliable then its needless posting it or rebroadcasting cos its negative effect will be wild like that of Ebola virus.

For instance, if the reference source is Funaab website, you will agree with me that this will give any student comfort.

I monitored this thread last year and abuse is lesser though I equally wade in to offer my advice as a circuit breaker and put the thread back on right track.

You have not seen each other so the exchange of banters is needless. Let's every one contributing have mutual respect for each other.

What should preoccupy our collective mind now is not abuse but sharing information that will assist in realizing common objective of gaining admission.

On salt n hot water nobody is being fooled. It cost nothing to do it as part of precautionary measures in addition to hygienic alert being circulated. No one says it will prevent when you deliberately engage in acts that will expose one to d virus like broda daniel a student of unife of old who enter d lion zoo hoping to be delivered like biblical daniel thus tempting God. The experts says d virus cant stand heat n direct sunlight. Hot water has heat properties and you agree with me salt also has antiseptic properties. So heeding to. The call to me is not foolishness but additional precautionary measures. Expert advise washing hands with soap regularly am sure that's not foolishness and for those who doesn't av money to buy hand sanitizers am sure soap with hot water mixed with salt will suffice. Rather than discouraging people as its a foolish act, d wise may jez elect not to do it. We need to carry each other along in this trying times through least cost sensitization and precautionary measures as its being circulated albeit its seen by folks as foolishness. Many are the afflictions of righteousness and God deliver them from it all. God will surely deliver us as we take precautionary measures.
