Your best route to avoid lagos traffic is from ogba or abule egba find your way to iyana ipaja where u will see direct bus to iyana iba from there u get to lasu. You will be moving against traffic.going thru ikeja .oshodi n mile 2 is 360 degree journey and u will encounter traffic

My financial mgt sense will not allow me to spend that money in funaab in the face of alternative least cost route to achieve goal.
If u take a cost benefit analysis of predigree admission in funaab you will know that d option is not d most feasible decision to take avin lost 3yrs to pursuing admission in the same university.

When you now factor in the opputunity cost of 3yrs wasted viz a viz a year gain from 3yrs lost from another university slot then you know that its better cos time cost much more than money cos time lost cant be regained.
Since am grooming my son to be a chartered accountant this will ultimately be achieved through professional exam all i wish him nau is undergraduate degree in any mgt science course not accounting as a background and this can be achieved in any university and not sticking to unaab only.

Attached your putme score and your funaab completed form which shows your jamb score and 5best waec result. Also an excel sheet which shows computation of your composite score.

Do same for at least one of those u av their jamb reg which score is lower than you and av been given admission jez attached their putme result and admission notification sheet which shows their composite score and jamb score for them to confirm that you are not admitted on merit


Be polite in canvassing your point. Chck funaab website for email of Funaab professor s and copy your dept prof and if you see that of prof mrs that head admission committee.

He has funaab (certainty) and want to pursue unilag foundation (costly and uncertain). The school you attended does not matter as far as career in accountancy is concerned besides no accounting courses run by university in Nigeria not accredited by NUC and perhaps Institute of chartered accountant of Nigeria.

Ability to prove yourself in labour mkt is what matter. Besides if the dream is to be a practising Accountant like me your frnd will write professional exams of ICAN or ACCA or CPA for global certification. Thank God For now that as much as the elite and those who have cornered our collective national wealth creates class distinction for their children through private nursery, primary secondary school and university, there is no professional bodies in all field of study for the rich. We all united at professional level. So let your friend go for funaab and study well to pass with good grade and continue his career to professional level cos thats the ultimate for accounting and finance professionals.

Amhackdee dont waste your time. My son also wanna read econs but not advertised in lasu putme so i chose public administration for him instead of other competitive mgt courses. Av bn told that 70% of banking & finance had been booked in first putme.
Google career in public admin is somehow related to a branch of economics .

Am actualy preparing my son to be a chartered accountant but needlesd doing accounting at degree level. So you can also make up for career difference with specialisation at master degree level and writing professional exams. Ican. AccA. Cisa. Cfe etc. Most important is that you have first degree. I av econs as my bsc degree too

Last year my son score 38 putme they said senate resolved dat putme 40% is cut off for colmas.

Ds year my son has 42% putme they said 45% is cut off putme. An hod of funaab confirm ds to me in a private mail that he cant help because of this. So i know what am saying

Sir to be candid, 54% cannot get merit admission into "ACCOUNTING" department. But in FUNAAB case, I think I will have to shut my mouth cos 46% is even getting a merit admission.

Its because funaab admission has double standards. They say u must av not less than 45% PUTME as a first criteria for admission to colmas. Since the composite weighted average performance score was downplayed while denying those with putme score of 50% and above. These set of people also has more than 50% composite score.

The putme score is a subset of composite score so the bar for composite score should av been raised to prune down competition and select purely on merit.

But because of their deceitful act they refused to publicise cut off mark for admission.

Last year, a guy scored 250 in JAMB; though didn't perform well in the PUTME--got 50, he wasn't considered for "any" course in FUNAAB (he applied for Civil Engineering, he even posted his Reg on Nairaland)....

FUNAAB has low carrying capacity plus pre-university programmes plus nepotism/corruption. It has limited to zero space for merit admission.

There's no automatic admission for merit students in any university even in MIT, other factors must be taken into considerations.

There's always flaws in any process. But I believe Luck usually plays a big role in Universities admission process.

Abeg ! Hope your MIT is not Massachusetts Institutes of technology in the USA. You cant compare the way things are done in organized system with our system here where we chosed to remained unorganized despite our exposure to what pervades in organized world.

If you meet admission criteria by MIT you get instant admission withuot invoking any unknown other factors (Nigerian factors) you talked about). Where system is transparent and rule of the game clearly defined luck as u said has no role to play but merit through hardwork.

A friend of mine jez sent her daughter to MIT having been unjustly denied admission 3times by Nigerian university system. She wrote Toelf and satisfied clearly stated admission rules shes cooling with her study in USA now.

Other factors you talk about likely to be leggins and runs in the senate does not pervades itself in organized clime university system.

Talking about the essay its bull shit cos its use in scoring was not made known and at variance to what the VC told the parents. And if its to be used a point scale should have been booked for essay in the computation of composite score and every admission seekers will know the yard stick of measuring the probability of his getting admission and not to be invoking unwritten and unknown rules to scheme some out of admission.

To those looking for Cambridge or ijmb in funaab this cant guarantee you admission because the exams are externally modetated and if you fail to pass at say average of C in three papers your 400k enough to start a small scale bizness has gone to the drain.

Predigree is the sure route.

The day Government build enough school to equate supply with demand by student seeking admission the issue of leggings and runs or luck factor will be a thing of the past.
