LifestyleTonite: No wonder Obi came third in the last election. He lacks sense and doesn't know when not to talk.
When Soludo and Otti were demolishing houses in Anambra and Abia,. respectively, this LP third-placed candidate kept quiet. Dude now found his voice because it concerns the Lagos they have coveteousness for.
How can you say the timing of the demolition is wrong, all in the name of hardship in the land? When hasn't there ever been hardship on Nigeria and in the world? So, because of hardship, illegalities should be permitted? Armed robbery should also be legalized because of hardship, according to Obi with 419 sense.
He even insinuated that Government ought to not have carried out the demolition now, meaning it should have been postponed. This is another reason why he's not fit to rule Nigeria. So, he means government should continue to permit flooding caused by illegal structures encroaching on waterways in Lagos. Doesn't he know that while the canal's route is blocked, its water gets diverted to other communities which gets flooded. This leads to stagnation of water that causes malaria mosquitoes, typhoid, loss of property and dirty environment. These happen while the illegal criminals enjoy their mansions sited on illegal land. Sadly, when there's a flood, the descendants of those so-called mansion owners will mock Lagos.
What Peter Obi wants is a postponement of doomsday. This was the same way he supported Naira Scarcity. Now he's supporting illegality, yet hopes to lead Nigeria someday.
Below is a photo shared by the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, showing buildings built to block a canal's passage. During raining season, where do the owners of those buildings expect water to pass through? Definitely, the water will find a channel that will lead it to where irs not supposed to go to, there y causing flooding in other communities. Obi wants such buildings to remain standing, whereas he demolished such buildings when he as the Governor of Anambra State.
He's a clown And no wonder you remain stagnant because you lack capacity, competence and compassion |

Politics › Ondo: How Tinubu Stopped ‘Doctrine Of Necessity’ Plot by Bobloco(op): 6:41am On Nov 30, 2023 |
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s intervention in the leadership crisis in Ondo State last week halted plans to have the state House of Assembly invoke a doctrine of necessity and declare the deputy governor, Lucky Ayedatiwa, acting governor.
The president, according to Empowered Newswire, preferred a different approach in addressing the leadership vacuum in the state.
The paper quoted authoritative sources from Aso Villa as explaining that “Mr. President is not opposed to the rightful invocation of the doctrine of necessity, but he was blind-sided when he was told that security forces from both the police and the military were already stationed on Thursday, November 23 at the Ondo State Assembly in Akure to secure the building preparatory to the resolution.”
One of the sources who did not want his name in print said when the president asked who gave the order for the security agents to be deployed, he was informed that it was the APC national leaders who had been working with members of the Ondo State Assembly that made the arrangements.
At that point, the source said Tinubu then called the chairman of the APC and wondered why such a move would be afoot in his own geopolitical zone – the South West – without his knowledge.
The President then gave orders for the security forces to stand down, just as he quickly summoned a meeting with all stakeholders at the Presidential Villa the next day, which was Friday November 24.
Another presidential source noted that Tinubu wants Akeredolu and his loyalists in the State to be carried along in determining the way forward, either through another power transfer to the deputy governor or the invocation of the doctrine of necessity.
A presidential statement later on Saturday said, “In his bid to restore political stability in Ondo State, President Bola Tinubu, late on Friday, waded into the months-long crisis between factions loyal to the executive governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, and the deputy governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
“This followed marathon negotiations between the President and the Deputy Governor, representatives of Governor Akeredolu, federal and state lawmakers of Ondo, officials of the state’s chapter of APC and other stakeholders in the state at the State House, Abuja.
“The president advised all opposing parties to bury the hatchet and embrace peace, eliciting commitments to this effect.
“This means that Governor Akeredolu remains the chief executive of the state, Aiyedatiwa remains the deputy governor, and members of the State Executive Council continue their respective duties, even as the leadership of the state House of Assembly and the APC chapter in Ondo State is preserved.”
Empowered Newswire also reported that the President would be initiating communication with the ailing Ondo State Governor at the earliest opportunity to cement the agreement he reached with the APC stakeholders in the State and the constitutional options to move Ondo State away from the crisis.
The source added that once the agreement with the President is in full force the Governor is likely to transfer power again to his Deputy like he has done in the past.
“Check the records, Governor Akeredolu transferred power to the deputy governor in June for three months when he went to Germany for treatment. And that was not the only time the Governor has done that,” another source close to Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu said, adding that the governor had even made it public before that Ayedatiwa would be his preferred successor.
APC national chairman, Dr.Abdullahi Ganduje, had set up a Reconciliation Committee on the Ondo State crisis with former Katsina State Governor Matsari delegated to lead the assignment. The Committee held a series of meetings with APC stakeholders including State Assembly members in Abuja and it was part of the outcome of this that some Ondo State Assembly members were set to effect a meeting of the Assembly slated for last Friday where the doctrine of necessity was to be invoked.
The plan was to secure the premises of the state assembly by Thursday evening and so hundreds of military and police operatives were already on ground before the president halted the plan and chaired the meeting at the Villa on Friday evening.
At the meeting the president also asked the deputy governor to write an undated letter of resignation as “a form of insurance” for his expected demonstration of loyalty to Governor Akeredolu.

Politics › Kogi: Tribunal Adjourns Indefinitely For SDP’s Election Materials Inspection by Bobloco(op): 1:30am On Nov 30, 2023 |
The Kogi State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Lokoja has been adjourned indefinitely pending the completion of an inspection of election materials by the Social Democratic Party.
At the resumed hearing on Wednesday, the SDP said the INEC was cooperating with the inspection of materials as granted by the order of the tribunal but sought more time.
The tribunal had ordered INEC to issue certified copies of electoral materials for the November 11 off-cycle election in the state to the SDP within 48 hours.
It also ordered INEC to allow the SDP’s forensic experts to examine some electoral materials.
The materials include the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System and result sheets for Adavi, Okene, Okehi, Ogori-Magongo, Ajaokuta, Lokoja, Kogi and Bassa Local Government Areas.
The tribunal ruled on Saturday in Lokoja that the SDP requested the materials to prove its case in the petition it filed against the victory of the All Progressives Congress at the election.
The chairman of the tribunal, Justice Ado Birnin-Kudu, gave the order following two ex-parte motions filed on Nov. 19 by the SDP and by its governorship candidate, Alhaji Muritala Yakubu-Ajaka.
Justice Birnin-Kudu adjourned the resumed hearing pending when the inspection of materials would have been completed.
Lead counsel to the petitioners, Mr John Adele (SAN), had earlier told the court that efforts to obtain certified copies of materials used in the six local government areas from INEC had been fruitful, except for some hitch, leading to delay in meeting with the 48 hours.
The SDP and Muritala Yakubu are challenging the victory of the APC and its candidate, Alhaji Usman Ododo, at the election petitions tribunal.
Usman Ododo won the election with 446,237 votes, while his closest rival, Yakubu-Ajaka, got 259,052 votes. https://punchng.com/kogi-tribunal-adjourns-indefinitely-for-sdps-election-materials-inspection/?amp

Politics › Tinubu’s 2024 Budget Deceitful, Has No Mechanism For Economic Recovery - PDP by Bobloco(op): 8:31pm On Nov 29, 2023 |
Tinubu’s 2024 budget deceitful, has no mechanism for economic recovery- PDP The Peoples Democratic Party has criticized the proposed N27.5 trillion budget for the 2024 fiscal year by President Bola Tinubu to the National Assembly as deceitful, adding that it has no mechanism for economic recovery.
Vanguard reported that Tinubu, on Wednesday presented the ‘Budget of Renewed Hope’ before a joint session of the Senate and the House of Representatives.
In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, the PDP urged the National Assembly to reject the appropriation bill and argued that if allowed to pass, it would plunge the country into economic depression.
The statement reads: “The PDP also describes the claim by President Tinubu that the budget is a Budget of Renewed Hope as conjured, unfounded and deceptive as the budget is completely devoid of concrete mechanisms to revive the economy, create jobs, address the comatose manufacturing and productive sectors, human capital development deficiencies and depleting life expectancy of Nigeria citizens.
“The 2024 budget is filled with heavily padded figures, duplicated items and several false statistics including claims of global increase in inflation rate as excuse for an impending excruciating increase in taxes and interest rate to the detriment of our productive sector.
“It is clear that the 2024 budget as proposed with its heavy provisions for luxury appetite of the Presidency and All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders which is predicated and expected to be funded from multilateral and bilateral foreign loans and increased taxes on Nigerians, is designed to further mortgage our nation and strangulate the already impoverished Nigerians.
“The budget framework with respect to Recurrent Expenditure Vote of N9.9 trillion, Capital Expenditure Vote of N8.7 trillion and N8.25 trillion for debt services is unsustainable and unrealizable in view of the stated outstanding debt and proposed borrowing which is targeted mainly to finance consumption, luxury appetite and debt servicing.
“The lack of concrete and verifiable action plans to revive the manufacturing, energy, agricultural and education sectors which are the main drivers of any economy is a pointer that the Tinubu-led APC government is bereft of ideas and completely disconnected from the reality of life being faced by Nigerians.
“It is of grave concern that the President in the budget speech stated that his government has “adopted a Naira to US Dollar exchange rate of N750 per US Dollar for 2024”.
“This is a clear admission of failure, incapacity and lack of direction by the APC administration to manage and grow the economy in such a way as to strengthen the national currency, productivity and competitiveness in the global market.
“It has further confirmed that the numerous promises by the President and officials of his government asserting a monetary policy to strengthen the Naira have been a deceptive ploy which is consistent with the APC in the past eight and half years.
“By adopting a defeatist N750 per US Dollar exchange rate, President Tinubu has further plunged our economy into the abyss, weakened our productive sector, wrecked the purchasing power of Nigerians and the capacity of the youths to be creative, recognizing that it will be almost impossible for Small and Medium Enterprises as well as Startups to access capital under such a suffocating budget.
“Every responsible leadership strives to work and defend its national currency. Unfortunately, the Tinubu-led government has surrendered our nation currency and pride to the whims and caprices of the so-called ‘market forces’.
“The PDP insists that with a transparent, honest and innovative management of resources and economic potentials of the nation; without inordinate pursuit of luxury consumption by a few individuals in leadership position, as being witnessed under the APC, the economy will witness a rapid turn-around and the Naira strengthened to its value of below N200 per US Dollar bequeathed by the PDP to the APC in 2015.
“This 2024 budget as presented by President Tinubu therefore represents hopelessness for Nigerians. It is pathetic that the President whose main duty is to provide for the security and welfare of Nigerians as provided for in Section 14 (2) (b) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended) could present a budget that is not geared towards the attainment of that Constitutional duty imposed on him.
“The PDP calls on the National Assembly pursuant to its Constitutional duty under Section 80, 81 and 82 of the 1999 Constitution to reject the 2024 budget as presented and use its legislative powers to disassemble the budget and make provisions that are critical and pivotal to the growth of the economy and the welfare of Nigerians.” https://www.vanguardngr.com/2023/11/tinubus-2024-budget-deceitful-has-no-mechanism-for-economic-recovery-pdp/amp/

Politics › Automation Of Passport Application 99% Done, To Go Live Next Week – Tunji-Ojo by Bobloco(op): 9:43am On Nov 29, 2023 |
The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo said automation of passport applications is 99% complete and expected to go live next week.
Tunji-Ojo disclosed this in an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday.
He said, “Automation of passport applications is 99 percent done. We’ve done the testing, and we should be going live in the next week or thereabouts.
“That will ensure that all Nigheria need to do in an immigration center—a passport center—is just biometrics, just to take your fingerprints. All other things are going to be in the comfort of your home, including uploading your passport picture and your supporting documents, just like your visa,” he added.
Recall that the minister had vowed that reforms were underway to simplify the passport application process, with the possibility of Nigerians being able to begin submitting online applications as early as December.
Tunji-Ojo had said one of the reforms the ministry was implementing in passport management is to put an end to the “chaotic” passport application process.
His words: “For me personally, I have said this to service providers; I said it today, I said it yesterday, and I have always told them, ‘You need to make life easy for people. We cannot, as a government and as a service, make things more difficult than they ought to be,’” he said.
“Part of the reforms that we are putting in place now, starting from December, is that even when you want to enrol for your passport, you fill your forms online, you do your payments online, and everything.”
The minister assured that the ministry would employ all avenues to reduce Nigerians’ frustration in the application process.
According to him, only a biometric capture needs to be done in person, explaining that all necessary details can be submitted via a Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) portal.
“You do not need to go to the passport office to have your picture captured. People apply for American visas, people apply for UK visas, and people apply all over the world. Your passport with the required specifications as directed by the NIS will be uploaded on the platform.
“You upload your passport online, you upload your supporting documents online, so when you go to the immigration office, you spend just like five minutes just to have your biometric captured; that’s all,” he said.
Tunji-Ojo stressed that the days of drawn-out enrollment procedures are long gone and unacceptable, adding that it is Nigerians’ right to experience a smooth procedure.
“The era of people sacrificing a whole day just because they want to go to a passport office for enrollment is over; it is unacceptable. You cannot inconvenience people based on their rights; it is the right of the people to have a seamless experience,” he said.
Earlier, the Minister announced that 204,322 international passports are now ready for collection out of the backlog of over 300,000 he met upon assumption of office. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2023/11/automation-of-passport-application-99-done-to-go-live-next-week-minister/amp/

Let us continue to explain things to them gently may be they will Understand better
Ok
same way you voted for peter obi is the same way others voted for Tinubu and Atiku
peter obi failed to get 25 % in any sharia Muslim states so that alone is already 12 states lost . (Almost one third of the Federation's states already)
plus the 5 SW states where he failed to get 25 % that is already 17 states lost where he didn't get the mandatory 25% National Spread In Two Thirds of the Federation .
We haven't yet added Kogi ,Kwara and others o ! peter obi lost!!
Even if you want to very stubbornly argue that the 5 SW states results were rigged and exclude them ( But in that case the APC will also argue for the SE results to be excluded too for the very same reason)
Then include only the 12 sharia Muslim states where peter obi failed to get 25% and add Kwara and Kogi State too That is already a total of 14 states, , Game over! peter obi could not afford to have 25% in less than 24 states without loosing
peter obi still lost the Elections!!!!! Where did Tinubu win, don't forget he is the candidate of the incumbent party, the APC Tinubu didn't win in the south south and southeast, didn't win any of the KKK states, lost his adopted state lagos, lost his alleged home state of Osun, lost Nasarawa, lost plateau, lost Adamawa, lost taraba didn't secure ordinary 25% of all the votes cast in the FCT He is the only presidential candidate in that election who didn't win his state and adopted state When he was announced winner in the dead of the night, by morning there were no jubilations. Nigerians were seen wearing long faces, mourning which was a confirmation that he snatched, grabbed and run away with the people's mandate. |

Politics › Kano Governorship Appeal: Judge Faces Judicial Council Wrath Over Clerical Error by Bobloco(op): 7:53am On Nov 29, 2023 |
Amidst public outcry against the judgements and utterances of some lower and appellate court justices, the National Judicial Commission (NJC) has begun a self-cleansing of the Bench. The first of such justices to incur the wrath of the NJC is Justice Moore Aseimo Abraham Adumein of the Court of Appeal who issued a controversial order in the Kano State governorship appeal. LEADERSHIP learnt that Justice Adumein is to face sanction for his inability to discover and address a typographical error in the controversial judgement. The authoritative source said many Nigerians who were commenting on the Kano judgement were yet to read it and added that the error in the verdict was an honest clerical error. He said notwithstanding, he (judge) has to pay for his mistake. “Many Nigerians who are talking about the judgement have not read it. The error in the judgment was a clerical error but I am not making excuses for him; he is going to answer for it because ignorance is no excuse in law, he will take responsibility for It. “The error in that judgement occurred from the clerk who worked on it. The judge did not read the conclusion of the judgment after it was worked on by the secretary. The judge and the secretary who worked on it have to face the consequences,” he insisted. The source further said it is only in the judiciary that erring judicial officers are named and shamed. According to him, by this, the judiciary is more transparent that the two other arms of government. He said the NJC does not in any way shield its justices who are found to have committed infractions. The source said, “About 98 percent of petitions against justices are frivolous but the ones they find merit in, are investigated and the judges are either suspended or dismissed. ” The NJC pays the salaries of all the judges in the federation and that is why we are able to discipline them when they are found guilty. NJC is like a court to the justices because both the complainant and the judge are represented by a lawyer, where all the issues are argued. “After listening to them, they will either dismiss the petition or sanction the judge, depending on the argument put forward. Most of the cases against the judges at the NJC are supposed to go to the Appeal Court. “It is only the judiciary that names and shames its own, other arms of government don’t do that. The judiciary is more transparent than other arms of government,” he declared. Also, last night a source in the council confirmed to LEADERSHIP that the screening of the new justices of the Supreme Court had started. LEADERSHIP had exclusively reported yesterday that the screening of the 22 justices for the apex court bench would begin in Abuja on Tuesday (yesterday). The source said the exercise cannot be concluded in a day. Appeal Court Affirms Rivers, Taraba, Sokoto Governors’ Elections Meanwhile the Appeal Court sitting in Lagos has affirmed the election of Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara. Also, the division of the court sitting in Abuja affirmed the elections of Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State and his Taraba Sate counterpart Kefas Agbu. The court dismissed the appeal of the appellants and affirmed their elections. At the Lagos division of the court, in a unanimous decision, the election of Governor Fubara was upheld. The court affirmed the judgment of the election petitions tribunal, which dismissed the four separate appeals filed by Tonye Cole of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Beatrice Itubo of the Labour Party (LP), Innocent Ekwu of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) and Lulu Briggs Dumo of the Accord Party. The APC candidate, who was present in the courtroom yesterday, wanted the court to direct the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to declare him the winner of the March governorship election in Rivers. The lower tribunal had in October dismissed the petition of Cole challenging the election of Fubara as the governor of the state. The tribunal dismissed the petition, saying that the APC which sponsored Cole had withdrawn the petition against Fubara’s victory. In the case of Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State, the court dismissed the case filed by his main challenger, Sai’du Umar, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the election. The court said the appellant failed to prove his allegations against Aliyu in the suit marked CA/S/EP/GOV/SK/30/2023. The court also dismissed the petition filed by Sani Yahaya of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) against the election of Governor kefas Agbu of the PDP In Taraba State. Yahaya and his party had challenged the result of the March 18 governorship election on the grounds of non-compliance with the Electoral Act, stating that Agbu didn’t score the majority of lawful votes cast. But delivering judgement yesterday, the appellate court held that the reliefs sought by the NNPP candidate were inconsistent having faulted the outcome of the polls on grounds of non-compliance with the Electoral Act, yet praying the court to declare him the winner of the same election. In a related matter, the Court of Appeal in Abuja sacked the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Mr. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi. In the judgement, the court declared the PDP candidate, Hon. Sa’ad Abdullahi Ibrahim (Turakin-Opanda), as the rightful winner of the election for Umaisha/Ugya State Constituency https://leadership.ng/kano-governorship-appeal-judge-faces-judicial-councils-wrath-over-clerical-error/ |
