Former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, has taken sides with the Senior Pastor of the Daystar Christian Centre, Sam Adeyemi, over his stand on the #EndSARS campaign. Adeyemi, writing on his Twitter page, made it clear that until “deep issues foundational to Nigeria’s development” are addressed, protests like this will not go away. The respected cleric tweeted: “The #EndSARS campaign draws attention to deep issues foundational to Nigeria’s development, including VALUE FOR LIFE and the RIGHT TO BE TREATED WITH DIGNITY. Sustainable change has to be compelled by citizens. So, campaigns like #EndSARS won’t go away soon.”[/b] Atiku in response, wrote: “Agreed! We can’t complain about the enslavement of our young people in Libya, yet abuse their freedoms at home.” Nigerians recently took to social media platforms, to call for the scrapping of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, F-SARS, following the excesses of its officers. Following the public outcry, the Inspector General of Police, (IGP) Idris Kpotun Ibrahim, directed the immediate restructuring of SARS teams across the

Just30:So y in the last decade that the Ghanian budget has foreign aided/subsidized sometimes up to 40% ![]() Y is ur president Ranting like this ![]() It's possible u don't need aid now. But before now u heavily depended on it guy |
360command:Yeah of course the western nations aren't philanthropists. When u even dash or pay some1 money it's natural to expect a level of loyalty from them. That y people become their own boss, take their destiny in their hands n pay themselves. I'm not here to defend France n western African donors . Did France force themselves on cote d"ivoire ![]() If they can't afford a presidential palace, y renting one in ur own very land?? Must our leaders live in presidential palaces when we can't afford one as nation ![]() How come u don't see the greed n foolishness of these leaders that want to live in presidential palaces when the country can't afford one ![]() What Donors do to you after Donations is definitely not within our control ( because he who pays the Piper dictates the tone) but going to them or living above our means is definitely within our sphere of control. The truth is that Nana as a person actually don't need the help from foreign donors. Rather the common Ghanaians on d Street need it. So he can careless. I would prefer he Nana does something concrete about it as a good leader not just talking politics in the open joor |
Just30:Yeah it's very true and I doff my hart for Nana for the courage to acknowledge n say so. But I strongly feel he should do more n talk less about it. It's even better not to talk but do more. And at the end of the day the results will definitely shout it loud |
chibuzorAbia:Yea u ar right about how world trade agreements grossly disfavour Africa. But that is nature. Every human is first of all selfish and can only relent when he meets an equal or superior power. So when the super powers make policies, it's normal to favour themselves and take advantage of laser powers like Africa who can't compete. After all most inventions n patents are coming from the western world. So why will they not favour themselves more? So right from conception life is a survival of the fittest. So no one is gonna protect ur ass out there, u got to go fight for ya portion. So i do still believe that Africa has always been her chief enemy. Because There's so much we can do that we aren't doing. Our leaders are the worst globally. Look at the case of Mugabe, see how much the nation has suffered economically as a result of one man. With so high literacy rate yet unemployment is at 90% and inflation is above 200m%. It's normal that since he expelled white minority farmers from lands. That western nations will come against him n d his nation. But wisdom demands that he should have handed over power to a trusted comrade long ago, that will come and pursue aggressive economic reforms. Likely the fury from western nations against the new face will b much less. And overtime the nation will have moved on from the land dispute stigma. But instead he was busy enriching himself wt d nations gold, platinum n diamond while d whole nation suffered greatly. So who did he fight for the land for, himself A 93yr old coga to collect 10m dollar settlement after impoverishing his nation all these yrs. Haba common guys!!! So what of the asian Tigers n the Arab nations, were they favoured originally in trade agreements? So how come they have made far much progress than oil rich African nations ![]() Pls kindly tell me the advantage that Qatar, UAE has over Nigeria?? Pls don't talk about d population, cultural/religious diff, because that's an advantage, except u ar a blind leader like we do around Africa. I have an in-law who's a senior manager in cheveron, he says that even the oil meters that is supposed to b monitored by NNPC to confirm the amount of crude lifted by joint venture partners, have not been working for yrs n no one cares. These are same partners lifting crude for decades in nig but never built a rifinery here. All NNPC is interested in is to package million dollars contracts to a sick president in London to sign. Y hasn't Nigerian leaders reinvested it's proceeds from oil like Arabs nations are doing Or is that also a problem of western powers on Nigeria?? How can a leader grieve while looking for power, that Nig leaders are going for medical tourism abroad while our health system is in tatters here. That if voted he'll stop that starting from himself. Only to get to power and budget N2.1b to a common clinic in his villa (more that budget of all tartiary hospitals in nig) and runs to London to treat ear infection. When the sickness became serious and every one was praying for him here (where the hospitals don't work) he ran to London where they don't pray (but the health system works) for treatment. Only for his wife n daughter to affirm that the clinic in the villa has no string n pcm yet nothing is done about that. After all he can afford to take a chunk of that hospital budget to go treat himself abroad. Tell me my friend is that also a problem of the west on Africa Yet some people are still clamouring for him to contest in 2019, all because he speaks same language wt them n follows same religion as them. A president that proscribed a group asking for their right to self determination a terrorist group. Sent soldiers to level them and innocent civilians. Yet the AK 47 carrying headsman killing with abandon since he came to power are saints in his eyes. Western world could not side with nig in that proscription u know. We were a joke to them if u didn't notice. Because they know about these headsman all these yrs and that there has not been any clear convicted bokoharram terrorist in any nig courts since this govt came in. Yet many were clapping for Mr President even here in NL. Is that also a problem of d west on nig ![]() I'm yet to talk about a Gov building statues of stranger presidents (including Nana's) wt millions of naira in his state yet can't pay salaries n pension of senior citizens. Awards all road projects to his construction company and appointments his daughter a commissioner for happiness. How can we succeed as a nation with this quality of leadership Tell me!I repeat until we look hard inwards choose capable leaders without sentiments, make both internal n external policies that will strengthen us, we'll not progress as a nation. All these noise (including the one by Nana) will not make any difference. |
Bevista:He's had lots of ample time to talk to Ghanians before the his visitor and will have more time when the he goes. So I repeat he has to talk less n do more. And until he proves otherwise (with results), he's still playing politics. |
Just30:U don't know what u ar talking about OP. Do u know about Ghana's budget more than her President?? If they have fully been sponsoring there budget, so y is Nana talking this way?? |
