Science/Technology / Re: Electrical Wiring by bodejohn(m): 2:55am On Jul 21, 2018
I'm afraid your village people are at work...

On a serious note...you need to get an electrician to check it but if you can locate the distribution or fuse box in your house, you can check if any of it is tripped or switched off.

Please note that fiddling with 220v when you don't know what you are doing can be dangerous.

that What people don't know. and worst is that since they lost the diapers market to Hayat they haven't recovered from the shock.Hayat gave them a deadly blow when they didn't expect it.

Even this fact is less than what the people there did to the company and their colleagues.
You will be surprised at the underhand dealings that sunk that place.

Unfortunately, most of the people who ran the company down let before the complete collapse.

Nice one bro . U are also an insider or have a very good source from inside as well . wink . Let others continue to blame the government .

Those who know the truth knows wassup wink

When the news broke, I wanted to open a thread here to discuss the matters but I later changed my mind.
I knew it would clearly be turned into an APC/PDP e-fight.

The issue also gave me a clear understanding of the Nigerian problem, our leaders are very wicked but combined "wickedness" of the citizens cannot be compared to those of our leaders. Can you imagine a single employee in Agbara with less than #6 million annual salary owning a petrol filling station and a house in one of the highbrow areas of Ibadan?

We can cry as much as we like online, if we continue this way, we will be digging the graves for the generations yet unborn.
Business / Re: P&G To Shut Down $300 Million Nigeria Production Plant, A Year After Launch by bodejohn(m): 12:54pm On Jul 04, 2018
I am not a fan of Buhari.

The collapse of P&G's business in Agbara has about 5% to do with government's policy. It was killed by the greed of the workers there...especially top management.

You don't expect them to say they are shutting down because there are multiple frauds or bad business decisions.

I am not sure you have any choice than to wait. Why not ask the company employing you to find you a closer date or maybe go in person to the embassy is see if there's any opportunity that you can explore.
Travel / Re: Czech Republic Visa by bodejohn(m): 2:18am On Jun 25, 2018
Facts first...

1. You cannot work in Czech Republic with a Schengen Visa.
2. You cannot also stay in a Schengen country for more than a cumulative 90 day period (not very sure of this figure but it is something close) irrespective of the duration of your Schengen visa in a year.
3. The company offering you a job should be actively involved in the processing of the visa.

The embassy of the Czech Republic is at 5, Gnassingbe Eyadema Street, Asokoro in Abuja,
You will most likely have to book an appointment online or by telephone before appearing.
The embassy website is here: https://www.mzv.cz/abuja/en/visa_consular_information/index.html

Finally, stay away from agents...all the information you need is available on the internet, google is your friend.

Best of luck!!!

So we can say that people in Elliot county for Maryland were also guilty of throwing dirt in their drainage?

Politics / Re: The Only Reason Buhari Signed This Bill Into Law Is to check-mate The yorubas. by bodejohn(m): 2:07am On Jun 10, 2018
@OP, you came up with a completely wrong interpretation of the bill that was signed by the president.

The bill says a deputy governor or vice president who had initially completed the tenure of his governor or president can only have one more time. This is to prevent a single person from serving in the capacity of a president or governor for more than 8 years.

If the bill was made for Oshinbajo as the current vice president, will he be the vice president for life or is he also the deputy governor in the the 36 states of the federation?

Even if you dislike the president, I am also no longer his fan but laying completely unfounded allegations is bad.

You're right, but here is the explanation of what you just said.

When you become a boss, you still live your life, but in a more responsible manner. This responsible manner is not because you want to please your workers, but because you want your company to grow.

At the end of the day, you're still pleasing yourself as a boss. If your company grows, you grow.

Let's take Nairaland as an example. The owner is an atheist. This automatically makes all his workers (the moderators) never to say anything against atheism even when they're strong Christians or Muslims.

Hasn't freedom of speech been taken away from them in exchange for salary? Isn't the boss living the way he likes? Think about it. Isn't it better to be a boss and let people amend their lives on social media to please you while you delegate the responsibility to them? This is what bosses do.

They live their lives, delegate responsibilities to their workers, and finally, the workers will start behaving like robots working day and night to please the boss and his company's goal.

All I'm preaching is for people to be their bosses and live their lives the way they want, then delegate responsibilities to the workers.

Workers are living fake lives to please Mr. Boss's company, while Mr. Boss is living his real life.

Let me stop here.

Seems you don't understand me, but I like your point too.

I really understood you.

But you also need to look at the big picture...the fact that no one is the overall boss.
Take for example, as a CEO you still want to massage the ego of your big customers, your shareholders and even board members.

You are living your life and calling the shots, but you still have to look over your shoulder once in a while.
I think the more diplomatic one becomes as one climbs the ladder of success the farther one is bound to go...

Most small time entrepreneurs don't get it. I find it hilarious when they think they work for no one. One day you'd think yourself boss, the next, the real boss(customers/clients) would render you jobless.

Very true...

Great for job seekers, but for those who want to be their boss, live your life the way you want and others will also live their lives the way you want just to work in your company. Now, you hold the key on how other people will live their lives, but they don't hold the key on how you'll live yours. Isn't it amazing? This is to say, be a boss and live your life like a boss.

Even this comes with a greater sense of responsibility.
A single wrong tweet can bring down a whole business empire, of course in a sensitive society.

With great power comes great responsibility...
