It was the right thing to do unfortunately, I blame the zoo authorities for not securing the Gorilla enclosure properly, I equally blame the mum for not watching over her child.. As much as I love animals, I will never put human life ahead of one..

Human error led to the death of the Gorilla, sad....
....

..
They are at present interrogating the parents of the boy. I hope the mum would be scolded in any lawful way for her negligence which resulted in the untimely death of Harambe.

LagosNIV:
Good morning everyone, VisaOfficer has departed Nigeria but it is clear that there are still many questions so I will make an effort to continue answering your questions!

I am a U.S. Foreign Service Officer working at the U.S. Consulate in Lagos, Nigeria. Like all of the VOs in Lagos, I handle both Non-Immigrant (NIV) and Immigrant Visa (IV) interviews. The purpose of this thread is to provide a forum for your questions about immigrant visas. My colleagues and I will make every effort to answer all questions within two business days.

Please note that we cannot answer questions about specific cases, except as based on the information provided here in this discussion thread. Any responses in this forum are not to be taken as legally binding, as they will be based only on what you tell us in your questions, not on the information in any actual case. While we will attempt to explain U.S. immigration policies, any opinions expressed are the personal views of the writer, and do not necessarily reflect the views of the United States Government.

We may not be able to respond to every post in this thread, and we will not answer abusive posts. Also, please don't send me private messages -- I don't even read them. If you need personal attention, please send an e-mail to LagosIV@state.gov.

There is a separate thread for Non-Immigrant Visa Questions, also handled by U.S. Foreign Service Officers serving in Nigeria, at https://www.nairaland.com/1792662/u.s-non-immigrant-visas-listening . Please use this thread right here solely for questions about Immigrant Visas and Diversity Visas.

Regards,
LagosNIV

am in F1 category, I am in my early 30s and should be married but doing so will put me in F3, additional 4 year wait is the last thing i want
how did your spouse get her LPR status, was she in F1 like me?
i understand on getting a visa, you have to travel, get your green card in 2 weeks or so before one can get married.
i dont want a child outside marriage
chaiiii!! That's d problem we face about this petition filing. I can feel what you going thru at d moment at this stage of yours, very tiring waiting but at d end I pray and hope it all goes well.. I'm in my mid 30s too, she got her LPR thru F2A too by her parent many years ago but we had a son together here in naija. before she travelled over many years ago, then she was under 20.
So, she came home and we did d needful and d whole process started. That's it.

Hi VO, I am currently under the immigrants petition filling and at the NVC stage but I have a close friend that wants to do his wedding in Texas in a couple of months. We have been friends from childhood and would love to be present when he ties the knot as he was present at my own wedding too. My question goes thus :What are my chances of obtaining the visa and hope it will not have effect on my pending immigrant visa. I have finances to support myself for the journey as I have a suitable job here in Nigeria. Thanks u.

Ur category moves faster by 2.5 months on average, i think next month's bulletin may be june1 or 15
The new bulletin is out o! Kinda slow this month unlike last month. The fastest among the categories is F2A which is 1.5 months, others are just days I think.

Hi the indefatigable VO, it's been a while I talked on this forum. How are you enjoying your new assignment? I always pray for you encounter joy in your endeavors as you have impacted so much on this forum. My question goes thus:When is the new bulletin coming out? I have been waiting patiently as my wife filed for me on Nov 2014 . my petition got approved may 2015 and I got a letter with a case number LGS 2015662....... On June 29,2015. Waiting for further instructions from NVC. My concerns is that on the approved letter sent to me they indicated May 05,2015 as priority date whereas I think my priority date should be November 2014 the petition was filed. Pls enlighten me more on this. Thank you. Please note:I'm a F2A beneficiary.

Oga Ade, sofri sofri na, u can exaggerate sha!

I was born and raised in Ibadan, now living in Lagos but still visit Ibadan frequently. To date, I can boldly say that there's nowhere in Ibadan that a room would go as high as N50k per month (N600k p.a.?). Not even the highbrow area like Bodija.

You made valid points on the other issues but your analysis of rentage is way off point. Don't scare off the OP with that information.

Cheers
oga Kraph, don't say that ooo.. I was born in ibadan, schooled here in ibadan, still living in ibadan... Forget ibadan that you stayed sometimes back oooo.. If you want a house of 1million per annum, I will take you there, it is in Iyanganku G. R. A., At Alalubosa G. R. A, I know of 700k per annum. here in Oluyole that I stay, a stone throw to my crib, there is one of 650k per annum... So you are stale ooooo when it comes to properties in Ibadan.

[quote author=dammie12 post=36925147]I believe your priority date is the day USCIS received the application. You might probably wanna call them to straighten it out. The difference in month could mean a lot as you can not predict what's going to happen.
Thank you, I will surely do. The waiting period is tiring oooo.
TravelRe: US Family Preference Visa Waiters Lounge by bodescous: 12:24pm On Aug 13, 2015
[quote author=slightlyMad post=36910818]mine was the date they(USCIS) acknowledged receiving the application.

AFAIK, if you got MAY05 on your form as PD, then that was when they received your COMPLETED application.
not likely approved, ask your petitioner to send you the WAC*** number so you can get the status whether approved or not on their website

I have the WAC receipt which I checked, the petition was approved May 20 on their website. The problem am having is how to identify my priority date. The one the USCIS wrote on the approval letter is May 05,whereas the petition was filed on November 2014.So, I still need to know the real priority date which I need to monitor. I am F2A beneficiary.
TravelRe: US Family Preference Visa Waiters Lounge by bodescous: 6:26am On Aug 13, 2015
When actually is the priority date? My case was filed and sent out November 2014, got approved on may 2015.On the form, it was written May 05 priority date. My question now goes thus: When is my priority date cos have heard people saying the day the petition was filed is d priority date but why did they write May 2015 as the priority date? JUST CURIOUS.
