tuzle: Film can't melt my heart. I just don't know why I find movies boring this days. there was a time I liked India films, but now I find them annoying. When I was younger, I still use to manage to watch Nigerian movies but now I don't even think I can even start it. Same goes for Hollywood movies, I just find them so boring this days. I think I am weird.
No, l don't think it cos you are weird.
I want to believe you have better things to do with your time.
SINisSIN: You are worrying over nothing and unfortunately, your wife is not reasonable at all. Tell them to keep them.
Something of this happened when we newly married, my wife and our kids went to their family house for Xmas and after like 2 weeks, she still not planning when they will be returning home.
Exactly three weeks, I called her babe if by 5pm tmwr, you are not back to this house with our kids, just continue your stay in your mama house.
Mother in law called me, what is it now? Why are you threatening your wife. I said you can keep her ma.
You can guess who was at the door as early as 10am the following day.
UnconventionalT: Just to digress from the topic pls. Is it the place of my mum to serve my husband his food if I am not around and my mum is on a visit? Considering I have made the meal and put it in a cooler or smth. Should my husband expect my mum to serve him?
Noo. Your husband should help himself when you aren't around to serve him. What's the big deal in him taking food from the pot himself?
CheedyJ: So what happened to taking just one & pretend the rest aren't there. U get ojukokoro jor
Lols. Not ojúkòkòrò jor.
I should have done as you said but l felt it was a dishonour to decline her offer. I didn't even like the Banana sef as l forced myself to eat it just to please her.
Sapasenator: I always decline out of courtesy and if the host really want me to eat, they might pressurize or insist and then I will just take a few bites to maintain my respect. Even If you invite me to your birthday, I am coming with cooked food and bottles of wine for other guests.
I learned my lesson as l don't even eat out again.
This isn't funny at all as l was once in the shoes of Mr and Mrs Johnston.
I went to visit one of my mummies at her house and immediately l entered, she offered me bananas. I was already full cos l had eaten before leaving my house, but out of courtesy, l picked up the banana and one after the other, l ate them all. I thought refusing her offer would mean an insult.
l had finished devouring the bananas before realising she might actually wanted to break her fast with the banana before l got to her house. Of course she had the banana on her dining table before l got there!!
This realisation made me sick and l felt like throwing up the eaten banana.
I never visited her house again till date partly out of shame.
Kyng1: I'm already at peace, the only peace that I'm enjoying right now Is the fact that she no longer visit frequently as she previously does, her place isn't far from where I lives, she comes unannounced and very frequently. But ever since I refused visiting her, she equally did same and I'm happy that she no longer come to my house unannounced and extremely frequently.
II think that kind of peace won't last cos in about two month"s time, she will not only frequent your house unannounced, but she will come to stay for omugo.
The best bet is to sue for peace the best you can.
You obviously walked and took decisions alone without resorting to counsels. In the multitude of counsellors, there's safety.
The die is already cast, go back to the legitimate hustle that brought the unwisely spent money and learn to be a better manager of your resources henceforth.
Call your MIL for peace to reign, cos you need that peace. Peace be unto you.
RubiesBanking: I think I have watched a movie before based on this scenario before. The kid was suffering from a condition related to dyslexia and dysgraphia . They both fall under specific learning disorder, maybe you might need to see a therapist to find out if she's suffering from this issue.
Her brain might be having difficulty decoding them, an example is not being able to tell O, P and D apart. You need to teach her in a much more slower detailed manner. if possible see a therapist to carefully evaluate the problem. You need to also go to her school to find out more about how she behaves in class, like if she has issues reading out loud from a book in front of the whole class, evaluate her test notes and exam paper to observe her writing style just to have a much more detailed overview of the issue is facing.
Also be careful with the beating, she might be trying her best to actually memorize those words. It'll instead demoralize her, making her confused as to why she's having difficulty remembering, which might not be her fault.
You are right as it may be a case of dyslexia.
@ Op, you could search for the movie " Like Stars On Earth" produced by Aamir Khan, an Indian actor.
Reginaoyah: He pays all of that, yes. I am angry that he doesn't support me. I feel like I married my enemy.
Why don't you just look inward and be a better version of yourself?
You could do better by focusing on yourself, consciously letting go of complaints, and before you know it, your husband will gravitate towards you effortlessly helping you as he used to do.
Granting someone bail at any amount simply means that the person who will stand as surety to the accused must be ready to pay that amount when the accused runs away before the conclusion of the case, meaning the surety is not even paying any money before the release of the accused...even cubana doesn't know the meaning of bail, hence he wouldn't have posted that "money na water "...no one paid any money...it is simply a condition should the accused runs away
I reconnected with an old secondary classmate a few years ago and we got talking and chatting only for him to stop responding to my messages weeks after our reconnection.
This new attitude pissed me off and l let him be with the 'you no dey feed me' attitude.
It was weeks later l learned from our WhatsApp group that he's battling renal failure and was due for a transplant in India.
I never knew he had a serious health issue all the while.
He never made the trip. Rip Robert.
Go easy on your old friends, you never know what each is passing through.
Proverbs 3:2 For length of days and years of life [worth living] And tranquility and prosperity [the wholeness of life’s blessings] they will add to you.
Psalm 37: 3-6 3Trust [rely on and have confidence] in the LORD and do good; Dwell in the land and feed [securely] on His faithfulness. 4Delight yourself in the LORD, And He will give you the desires and petitions of your heart. 5Commit your way to the LORD; Trust in Him also and He will do it. 6He will make your righteousness [your pursuit of right standing with God] like the light, And your judgment (i.e. your vindication) like [the shining of] the noonday [sun].
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Thank you so much for those beautiful compliments.
Bigkoko: Because most people in Nigeria have never experienced good governance! That's why crimes against civilians is normal to y'all!
Sha....wetin concern people wey get IQ less than a domestic donkey with proper thinking?
Noo, l am not in support of the military's vengeance against the innocent and the community at large. I was only likening what happened in Zaki Biam to what's happening in that part of Delta now.
Jovi10: History repeating itself in a bad way again. It was odi community under obasanjo and now this under Tinubu.
The amount of bloodshed happening in Nigeria especially the innocent ones, is so much. We are in big trouble in this country o. Too many bloodshed just forget for now, this country won't get any better with this crop of leaders who don't value human lives, the citizens too are not any different. Everyone is just moving mad.
As a Christian if you like keep wasting your time praying for Nigeria and our leaders. Read your Bible to know what happens in a country where wicked people rule.
Same thing happened in Zaki Biam in Benue state where 19 Nigerian soldiers who were on peace keeping mission were butchered.
The military retaliation lasted for days. They murdered sleep.
