In terms of Legislative independence, yes it was. Lawan was a puppet. Akpabio is a parliamentary figurehead for Tinubu's Executive cabal.

ecolime:
ATIKU ABUBAKAR IS THE MOST CORRUPT POLITICIAN IN AFRICA

Some of the facts that proves that Atiku Abubakar is highly corrupt are:

1. The US Congress in a report titled "KEEPING FOREIGN CORRUPTION OUT OF THE UNITED STATES" USING FOUR CASE HISTORIES: featured Atiku Abubakar as one of the four most notorious cases of money laundering in the world.

2. During the Obasanjo Administration from 1999 to 2008, Atiku Abubakar was then Vice President of Nigeria. During this period he used his fourth wife, Jennifer Douglas, a US citizen to transfer and launder more than $79.7 million dollars of stolen public fund and bribe monies to the USA including:

A. $40 million dollars shared to him from the money embezzled in the N121 billion naira national ID card fraud,

B. $1.7 million dollars bribe money paid to him by Siemens AG, a German company, for contracts in the Telecoms, Oil and Gas, and Computer/ICT sectors and

C. over $38 million dollars paid to him by companies around the world for miscellaneous services including bribery for contracts, import tax evasion, given help to drugs traffickers using customs officers and weapons smuggling for millitary men through the Nigerian ports.

3. Atiku's co-conspirators in the bribery scandal Williams Jefferson and Siemens AG of Germany were both tried and convicted in the USA and Williams Jefferson went to jail. Atiku intends to get immunity from prosecution by running for the post of president of Nigeria.

4. Both the BBC, VOA and many other international media reported that in a probe ordered by the Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo Atiku Abubakar was indicted of diverting $125 million dollars from a public trust fund into his private businesses.

5. A senate subcommittee investigating the PTDF indicted Atiku Abubakar of diverting $145 million naira of public fund as loans to his friends. The senate committee reffered the fraud to the EFCC for prosecution. The case is still pending.

6. Atiku was involved in Drug trafficking through the nation ports.

7. Atiku was involved in weapon smuggling through the nations ports.

8. Atiku masterminded the national ID card fraud that cost Nigeria N121 billion naira.

9. Atiku is involved in the stealing of import tax. Atiku connived with the Vaswani brothers of India to steal more than $400 million dollars of import tax on rice importation over a period of 3 years.

10. Atiku and his company INTELS were involved in most of the fuel subsidy frauds that cost Nigeria $35 billion dollars.

11. Atiku owns a private university, A set of luxury hotels, a Radio station and many other business. He also owns a private jet.

12. Atiku has a harem of six wives and a village of 26 children. The cost of maintaining Atikus wives and children is more than the annual budget of an average state in Nigeria.

With these few points of mine I hope I have been able to convince you that Atiku Abubakar is the most corrupt pollitician in Africa.

If we follow you write this corruption epistle for Tinubu head, the book go swell pass "Osei Yaw Ababio" Chemistry textbook wey we carry write Waec for secondary school that year..😂😂!

You must be a Hypocrite then, why all the whining, if you have it like that, why not add your quota, & be the best you can be?

Nigeria is a 3 tier system of government, Federal, States & Local Government, & The congregation of fellow Humbugs.

You talk Tinubu & The Federal Government morning to night, but never have you mentioned your state or Governor, & what they are doing to move the society forward?
Open my profile and read through the only topic I ever saw the need to create on nairaland.

I have every right to call my leaders to account and question their leadership. That you benefit from the government shouldn't be a yardstick for you to invalidate other people's concerns.

And for someone whose father is a Supreme court justice, it's no wonder you can afford to die in defence of the current Nigerian setting, cause it unambiguously favours your parochial interests.
Politics › Re: Lack Of Electricity How I spend 160,000 naira a Month on fuel? by BoldBrainz(m): 9:35pm On Oct 15, 2023
I'm trying to understand what laptop you comfortably bought for 1 million naira only to come on nairaland to lament about spending 160K on generator usage monthly.

Sounds like you have the tendency to be wasteful when you can have same satisfaction from spending lesser on alternatives.

My system cost me 370K. I don't own a generator. I have a solar power pack I ordered from New Jersey at a cumulative cost of 175K. It's charged with electricity as well and can keep my gadgets and system powered for 80 hours before the next charge.

I also have a mini solar installation done at 160K that enables me use two fans and bulbs and when electricity comes on, I use my AC.

Everything listed here didn't even cost me up to the amount you wasted to buy a laptop. Sometimes you have to plan according to economic realities.

The same way the Supreme Court ruled in favor of President Shagari, President Obasanjo, President Yar’Adua & President Buhari, The same way they are going to rule in favor of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,

The Supreme Court of Nigeria is a Court of precedence, nothing new under the sun in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Please desist from self deceit, it adds no value to your existence.
Self-deceit?

Lol.

You nairalanders don't even understand that some of us have the choice of making our lives in other countries, but that we seek to address our national concerns is just borne of the need to give voices to others without alternatives. The day your country collapses, I'll simply pack a bag and relocate to my mother's country, then comfortably make my life there. So there's absolutely no need for me to dance to the gallery to please any politician(s) or public figures..😂.

Nigga say na self-deceit. For this useless country that has nothing to offer her citizens? Mtscheew!

My Father is a Justice of The Supreme Court of Nigeria, don’t throw stones in glass houses.
If that be the case, you owe it to yourself, your unborn generations and the legacy of your father to tell him the truth as regards the collective loss of faith and confidence of Nigerians towards the judiciary. Not to sit on nairaland and make insidious remarks in defence of glaring societal anomalies.

This information had been exposed on X since Tuesday last week. Millions of dollars have been flying around as inducements just to buy a unanimous decision predicated on technicalities. Still don't understand. Put it in layman's term. Will it make cement cheaper?
If I am a cement supplier with enough naira to stock 5000 bags of cement, I can survey the market and see where I can buy it cheaper. If BUA cement here in Nigeria gives me a bag for 3500 plus the transportation to my warehouse and I compare it with the price outside Nigeria, I can decide to import those 5000 bags from another country (if I get the same cement quality for 3400 plus delivery to my warehouse) and by the time it arrives, I'll supply to retailers at 4000 naira.

That effectively puts competition in the cement market. I'll be selling to retailers at 4K plus delivery while the other man who is buying from BUA will sell for 4,200 plus delivery. Naturally, I'll have more patronage and BUA will be compelled by their loss of patronage to me, to reduce their price to flow with the market.

Ordinarily, that's how it should be. But this is Nigeria and this move has the potential to backfire. I spent an entire night reading and researching on it.
