Nigerian boxing legend Bash Ali was arrested on Wednesday Feb. 11th in front of a bank in Abuja for constituting public nuisance. He was locked u and charged to court for the offense .Despite meeting his bail conditions at a court hearing yesterday, Mr Ali has refused to leave jail in protest for his arrest and detention. A Wuse Zone 6 Senior Magistrates’ Court, Abuja on Wednesday fixed April 2 for hearing in the criminal case brought against Nigerian boxer, Bash Ali, and four other accused persons. Meanwhile Bash Ali has refused to leave jail despite meeting bail conditions. The four others are Gabriel Ikyowe; Timothy Ugbede; Daniel Otoski and Jones Ebele.

They were arraigned by the police on Feb. 19 on a six-count charge of joint act of abetment, criminal trespass, and obstruction in public way. They were also charge with criminal trespass, causing obstruction in public way, wrongful restraint and criminal intimidation. The prosecuting police officer, Sgt. Bulus Samuel said the charges contravened the provisions of sections 79, 85, 348, 194, 256, and 397(b) of the Penal Code. When case was first mentioned on Feb. 19, all the accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charges. The Magistrate subsequently granted them bail in the sum of N1 million each with one surety each who must be a civil servant not below salary GL 10. According to the Magistrate, the sureties must be reliable, resident within the court jurisdiction and must swear an affidavit to substantiate reliable means of livelihood. Bello adjourned the matter for hearing to March 4, adding the sureties, who must be civil servants, must produce their first appointment letter and their last promotion letter.

At the resumption of hearing on Wednesday, the Principal Witness 1, Mr Bisong Peter, told the court that he and some of NEXIM Bank workers were assaulted by the accused persons.
Peter is the Chief Security Officer to NEXIM Bank.
He said this under cross examination led by counsel to the accused persons, Mr Anthony Agbolahan.
According to him, Ali, his colleagues and others now at large, disrupted NEXIM Bank operations by preventing workers and customers from entering the premises during their protest on Feb. 18.
“Ali called himself a suicide bomber and claimed that he was coming to bomb the bank.
“As a security agent, my colleagues and I have to be on alert.
“They came on a protest carrying placard with all kinds of inscriptions against corruption; we stopped them but they were still able to gain entry into the premises.
“When they were disturbing and making noise, we called the police who later came to our rescue.
“Ali had visited NEXIM Bank several times but am not aware the purpose of his visits,’’ Peter said.
He, however, said that during one of such visits, he had a meeting with the bank’s management and later left in anger”.

Defence counsel, Mr Anthony Agbolahan, however asked Peter whether he was aware that Ali and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) were planning a boxing championship. When the witness answered in the negative, the defence lawyer told the court that Ali and his team visited the bank in connection with the championship. Agbolahan also sought from the CSO whether Ali and other attacked the bank’s Managing Director, to which the witness also answered in the negative. Witness also admitted that Ali had had a meeting with the management before but that Ali left the meeting in “anger”

Senior Magistrate, Habiba Bello, having listened to the parties adjourned the case till April 2 for continuation hearing.

An American woman has defended her decision to send $1.4 million to her online lover in Africa - who she has never met.

According to DailyMail, twice-divorced Sarah met Chris Olsen online 18 months ago. Though the mysterious man's accent has changed over time, and he keeps asking for money to be wired to various different countries, Sarah insists she is '95 per cent certain' that he is telling her the truth.

Despite his numerous attempts to come home so they can be together, she says, he keeps getting arrested on false charges.

In an interview with Dr Phil, Sarah explained that they speak for hours on the phone each day.

She described the moment they met on the internet:
'An attractive person came on there and said "wow you look like you wouldn't hurt a fly". I said "wow this guy's really handsome, I can't believe he's talking to me!"'

He told her he was called Chris Olsen, who hailed from Milan but moved to the U.S. 18 years ago.

Currently, she says, he is based in Africa on business, and has been for more than a year and a half.
When they met he said he was in South Africa. After a brief stint in Nigeria, he relocated to Benin, Sarah explained.

Within seven weeks of meeting, he professed his love in a gushing email that referred to her as 'Mrs Olsen'. And days later, he sent the first of many requests for money.

She has now sent him $1.4 million in total for hotel bills, calling cards, lawyers, an expired visa, stolen credit cards, and bail. Last June, she even had to sell an apartment she owned to wire him $550,000 bail.

However, she believes he is trying his utmost to make it home.

Sarah concedes that there are suspicious elements to his story:
'When I first started talking to him,' she told Dr Phil, 'He sounded Italian now his accent's kind of changed I don't know if he's adapted to where he's at... in Benin.'

But, she concludes: 'I still believe in love.'

The problem that we have is the President himself- a President who prides himself on his own weakness and incompetence and whose love of false prophets and strange women knows no bounds and has no end.

A President who is as confused and as clueless as the comic character called Chancey Gardner in the celebrated 1970’s Peter Seller’s Hollywood blockbuster titled ”Being There.

A President who does not understand the meaning of the word ”class” or ”honesty” and who breaks his own word consistently.

A President who has abdicated his responsibilities, destroyed his own political party, divided his own country, alienated his own friends, humiliated his own mentor, abandoned his own people, brought ridicule to his own faith, cowers before his own officials, betrays his own governors, scorns the international community and breaks his solemn oath to protect and defend the Nigerian people.

A President who does not even have the nerve or the guts to call to order any of the numerous Jezebels that control him. He is the problem we have in our country today and until he resigns, is impeached or is voted out of power nothing will changeand Nigeria will continue to go from bad to worse. That is what you get when you vote for a man who never wore shoes to school.

The President should find the courage to personally answer the charges and address the message rather than get his aides to attack the messenger. As Baba said, Jonathan is “bleeding Nigeria to death”. It is time for change.

God used Obasanjo to put Jonathan in power and, by His grace, He will use that same Obasanjo to remove him.

Under President Goodluck Jonathan, we have become a nation of vampires where the death of innocent children and youths means nothingand where we cannot even provide jobs or a decent standard of living for our young ones. Instead we attempt to scam them and to extort money from them. What a government! What a country!

Whichever way it goes I have absolutely no doubt that the removal of the fuel subsidy on New Year's day is the final straw: President Goodluck Jonathan, the King Rehoboam of our time, has hardened his heart unto destruction, just like Pharaoh once did, and he has fallen into the trap that has been set for him by God and by his enemies. May the Lord save Nigeria from this inexplicable and unpleasant mess and may the Nigerian people themselves wake up from their accursed slumber and take their destiny into their own hands. The smell of religious war, sectarian violence, regional and ethnic conflict, insecurity, untold suffering, rampant poverty and economic hardship is in the air. Nigerians are divided as never before and our country is slowly crumbling and dying before our very eyes. Who will save Nigeria? Who will stand up and say enough is enough? Who will pull us back from the brink? Who can we count on to take the bull by the horns and to do the right thing? Where is our deliverer and from whence will our Jehu come? When will our David with the heart of Cyrus arise? There must be a change. My God, let there be a change.

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babatunde Fashola, SAN on Friday held the Quarterly interactive session with media Correspondents, giving an insight into the performance of his administration in the critical sectors in the last eight years and restating that across all critical sectors, it has been a record of performances and kept promises.

The Governor, who spoke at Lagos House, Marina added that the
administration has touched all sectors, including transportation,
education, health, job creation and infrastructural renewal.

Noting that his guiding principle is to add value in all his
endeavours, Fashola said as Chief of Staff to former Governor Bola
Tinubu, he added value to what he met on ground and that as the
Governor he has led a team that built more roads, schools, hospitals, increased revenue and also employed more people.

Giving a rapid overview of the sectors, the Governor said that in the
area of transportation, the present administration has been
instrumental in introducing the Bus Rapid Transit system since 2007 and it keeps expanding reaching areas like Iyana-Ipaja, , Lekki, Epe Expressway and also expanding to Badagry.
According to him, in 2007 there was only one form of taxi cab service in Lagos which has changed today, as different taxis now exist that makes commuting easier for people who can now call up taxis to pick them at various locations.

He added that even in water transportation, his government has done well as the total number of people who moved through waterways in 2007 which was only 150,000 has now grown to over1.6million people on a monthly basis.
The Governor who spoke in reaction to a question from one of the State House Correspondents on an assertion by the Peoples Democratic Party Governorship candidate in Lagos that nothing has changed in the critical sectors stated that each time he listens to the PDP candidate speak on issues of how he intends to govern Lagos, he feels that despite preparing for eight years, Mr Jimi Agbaje still has nothing to offer and lacks content.

The Governor who said in all of such press interviews of Mr Jimi
Agbaje, his performance as Lagos State Governor has always been the issue, said he is happy that it is the issue because the has demonstrated ability to add value in all the places he has served unlike the PDP candidate who has not grown his business.

“Everywhere you go, you would see the imprimatur of our government and our party. Despite the fact that the job is not yet finished. The question is what has Jimi Agbaje grown from? If you cannot grow yourself, you cannot grow the community”.

The State, according to Governor Fashola has also created a Lagos State Waterways Authority which has ensured the creation of a safety regime on the waterways through appropriate navigation infrastructure and ensuring that people wear live vests.

He said in 2007, the concept of an intra city rail was just a plan on
the drawing board but that today work has reached an advanced stage on the Blue Line of the Light Rail project with four stations already completed and the fifth one coming up rapidly.

“In 2007, in how many of the sectors of the City could you find
traffic lights operating? How many of them even had lane marking. Was there a Traffic Radio here then? That is my record!”

Shifting attention to the health sector, Fashola said the present
administration has reduced the travel time and distance for pregnant women who often travel several kilometres to Lagos Island ante-natal care by constructing 10 Maternal and Child Care Centres with seven already completed and handed over with the eighth undergoing furnishing while the last two are being roofed.

He said this is in addition to the opening of a new School of Nursing, Flagship 24 hours Primary Health Centres, construction of a Kidney and Cardiac Centre which is the largest in West Africa, Cochlear transplant to aid those with hearing impairment, being able to stay Polio free in the last six years as well as managing and defeating Ebola virus Disease outbreak.

Fashola said in the educational sector, his administration has been
making steady progress achieving rapid improvement in the results of candidates who sat for public examination which has grown from seven percent to 45 percent. He added that the state is also building new schools and refurbishing classrooms and that this has led to a situation where more people are sending their children to public schools which has been reflected in the positive World Bank report on the EKO Project in Lagos.

The Governor, who reiterated his assertion that Mr. Agbaje does not have the requisite capacity to lead Lagos, said the PDP Candidate is stuck with his contention that only three percent of the education budget goes to primary education wondering how that is possible when each of the 57 Councils and Council Development Areas have their own separate budgets for primary education which is their constitutional responsibility of that level of government.

He said it was regrettable that Mr. Agbaje does not bother to check
some of the figures dished out to him by his Consultants and only end up embarrassing him through wrong assertions which he termed bold ideas.

Fashola said one of the hallmarks of a true leader is to admit being
wrong if a mistake has been made but that the PDP candidate never admits errors, adding that he has done the same thing with the issue of tax default by Jaykay Pharmacy Limited which he has earlier claimed was not owing Lagos State but has gone ahead to pay N500,000 out of the outstanding N1.6 Million to the coffers of the State. He said the Peoples Democratic Party which is Mr. Agbaje’s party on the other hand has been dishing out lies to Nigerians on its achievements one of which is its recent disclosure that it has constructed 25,000 kilometres of roads in Nigeria.
The Governor who described the assertion as blatant falsehood says for a Federal Government that sets aside not more than 15 percent of its annual budget on capital expenditure, one wonders where it got the funds to finance such projects in the absence of any clear budgetary provisions for it.

He said what 25,000 kilometers of roads in Nigeria meant was that each of the states would have benefitted from not less than 690 kilometres of roads each of which would have allowed the residents enjoy riding on super highways.

He reiterated that his message to the people of Lagos is that they
should vote for continuity by being mindful that what has been
achieved in Lagos has been made possible through common service that should not be experimented with.

The interactive session which was attended by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Lateef Ibirogba, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr Lateef Raji and Special Adviser on Media, Mr Hakeem Bello also had all members of the Governor’s Office Press

What do you do with your Guilt?

The atheist might say that they don’t believe in God but the Bible says that they actually suppress this knowledge. Paul writes in Romans 1:18 that “the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.” The Greek word for suppress is “katechō” which means “to hold back, to detain” or “to restrain” so it is an intentional act of suppressing what they know to be true but what does the atheist do with his or her guilt? Good question.
Where did the Universe Come From?

I read about an astrophysicist who said that anywhere from 10 to 15 billion years ago the universe exploded into being but if it didn’t exist before the explosion, then what was it that exploded? Can something that does not exist begin to exist and if it didn’t exist at one time and then did, how can that be so? If would have had to exist prior to exploding into being, right? Then where did the material universe come from? What in the universe had not beginning? The law of causality is so fundamental to science and logic that if I said that the chair you are sitting in, which must have had a beginning, just popped into existence without any cause, you might justifiably think I need a psychiatric assessment and you‘d be right! If at one time there was absolutely nothing that existed, then nothing would exist today. The psalmist knew that “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork” (Psalm 19:1) and God’s “eternal power and divine nature–have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse” (Rom 1:20).

Can you prove there is no God?

Of course the answer to this must be no. The atheist, technically doesn’t exist because it is impossible for them to prove that God doesn’t exist. That takes a great deal of faith. What scientific evidence can they provide that God doesn’t exist? How can they be 100% sure that there is no God? If there is no God, then is it fair that Hitler and Stalin have no justice served for all their crimes against humanity? Are there moral absolutes? If not, then aren’t they making an absolute statement that there are no absolutes?

Conclusion

No one was ever argued into heaven. Pray for them, try to reason with them but leave their conversion up to God and “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect” for (I Peter 3:15). I emphasize doing so in gentleness and respect. Don’t debate, don’t argue. You can win an argument and lose a soul. I would rather lose an argument and win a soul for Christ any day.
