We made top 2 with Fred and mctominay in midfield and none of those two are better than any of our current midfield options in central midfield. I feel like people highlighting the midfield options are only looking for excuses to absolve Amorim for being clueless. Any descent manager would make this squad finish top 5 comfortably. Nothinham Forrest nearly did that last season with a squad that finished 16 the previous year.

The level of achievement some parents would demand from their male child won't be the same for the female. The female may be doing the bare minimum and the parents would see it as a success unlike the men on the same level.

If you want to be a hands on quality parent involved in the lives of your children, you can't have too many.

What number is too many to achieve that? I have seen examples of parents with one child and they are terrible parents while others with 3 to 4 are well behaved and well mannered. At the end of the day it's all about the level of commitment.

It was 100% Berrada’s choice and he pulled shot gun on Ashworth to get his way, Ashworth pushed for Eddie Howe, Thomas Frank and Southgate as 3rd choice.
Berrada wanted Amorim because there was talk of Amorim maybe taking over at City from Pep due to Viana leaving Sporting Lisbon to become Sporting Director at City. Ashworth pushed against Amorim due to being a poor tactical fit for our squad and his known stubbornness in his system but the upper management went with Berrada over Ashworth

Even in countries that practice Socialism or something similar like Sweden and Norway the birth rate is still at an all time low so it's not about children being expensive to raise. Those countries are even coming up with incentives like paying families to have more children to curb their population decline. Japan tried that strategie to little benefits.

His pass accuracy vs Chelsea was 73%, vs Liverpool was 68%. Accurate long balls vs Liverpool was 0/6. Was dribbled past 4 times vs Chelsea. The less said about his defensive contributions vs both teams the better. The only commendable area against Chelsea and Liverpool was in creativity. Created 4 big chances and had 6 key passes.

I just watched adam wharton. omo He is miles ahead of baleba, the guy understanding of game is similar to kroos, pedri and carrick. . player like that can last for decades. anything he does na sense, his vision and accuracy for passes beat the ball carrying ability of baleba by far. work smart vs work hard. na highly technical defensive midfielder. Wharton is nothing like those players plus his passing accuracy is 76% which is mediocre tho I still prefer him to Baleba. Seems Amorim is not interested in a midfield controller but an all round physical box to box center midfielder.

I was just about to say this. The reason we have been dominant is the numerical advantage in midfield with Mount playing a key role. Take him off and our levels would drop.

Only Caicedo won more possession than Bruno last season. Most of you don't actually know what you saying most times. Maino was controling games for England at the euros just last year before his injuries.

The problem is Amorim. It's the same Maino that was bossing games against City, Liverpool and with England at the Euros. The real issue is that Amorim doesn’t seem to know how to use him properly, and the same can be said for several players in the squad. It’s less about the players lacking attributes and more about a manager failing to maximise what he has. The £100million Baleba he wanted has nothing on Maino in terms of abilities.

If Amorim cannot manage a 21 year old, how is he going to manage matured and stubborn football players. Don’t forget that Cunha can be incorrigible as well. How is he going to deal with hi ? Unless he wants to practice favouritism.

I was about to make this point about Cunha. I am all for cultural reset but how then do you go out and buy one the most problematic and lazy player in the league who has fallen out with nearly 4 different Managers. I still don't understand the Cunha signing especially for a position we were well stacked in. We could have used that funds for other relevant positions. Mbuemo, Bruno and Sesko would have been good enough.

I hate it when people just show data without giving context or understanding the role a player is playing or the style of play of the team in question. For example “Baleba progressive passes is low so that means he not good enough”. Baleba's job for Brighton isn't actually to progress the ball forward; quite often, it's to be the person receiving the ball in advanced positions. That doesn’t mean Baleba can’t progress the ball, what he does or what he is being ask to do is different.

Understanding what a player does in relation to stats, gives proper context to the data. Data is only useful when it is turned into information.

Fernandes won't be in midfield. It will be Ugarte doing the dirty work. It all depends on Amorim and the tactics he wants to apply. If he cares about dominating then going for a profile like Stiller, Casado, Rovella etc is no brainier.
