Some of you are also forgetting Psg with Mbappe, Neymar etc also got to the champions league final but instead of Inzaghi inter, it was Flick treble winning Bayern team.

Bros you sabi watch football! cheesy Joao Neves has been a revelation. That guy is a "total package" midfielder. Tackling, passing, retaining possession, close control he has all above average. He is the unsung hero that makes that team tick. I logged in to just tell you say "you too sabi ball" grin grin grin
Switching Dembele position to false 9 and the purchase of Kvaradonna is why they ticked. They were almost knocked out of the group stage with Joao neves doing nothing special.

They probably wouldn’t win the UCL with Mbappe in the team. He’s their Coutinho, only that they didn’t need the funds from his sale.
They reached the semis last season with Mbappe and only wasteful finishing stopped them from reaching the final.

People have made more money than Osimhen and blew right through it. So rest with that narrative. Poor money management can wreck anybody

I'm saying steady flow of income over 40 years is smarter than lump sum money in 4 years that you have to stretch over 40 years. Anyone with common sense will take the former.

Our resident money expert in the house Ibime already gave a detailed breakdown on this
Poor money management can make one waste 500million dollars or 1 billion dollars that doesn't mean it isn't generational wealth. I don't really think you grasp what the actual argument is here.

The scenario I gave to you is totally different from what ibime did calculation for. In this case you are earning the same amount. Inflation will erode all those monthly payments significantly. Back in 2015 if you were offered 36million lump sum or 300thousand naira monthly for ten years and your picked the latter, you would be in tears right now.

If these footballers and celebs tell you the kin billings dem dey face, and the angles dem dey face am from, you sef go surprise...no be Mr Makaroni dey talk about how e take rack up debts going 500M within a space of 5 years...this na Macaroni o grin
I had to check on Macaroni and he said he fell to scam and bad investment in 2021 plus reckless spending so he had to borrow and pay interest which resulted in debt.

Expenses pass expenses Broski. Not even comparable what you spend vs those guys. We've heard and seen too many instances

Only a crazeman will take 40 years money in 4 years. Do you know how short 4 years is? That's a World Cup. I can still remember Kolo Muani last minute sitter of Konate's hoof and another World cup is barely a year away

4 years is a fuckin short time to stretch money for 40 years
So you think Osimhen who earns approximately 20billion yearly has more pressing expenses than a career person with two kids and other relatives on a descent salary? I would love to see how you came to that conclusion. Either you can't really quantify how big his salary is or you just purposely making excuses for being wasteful.

So you would rather work for 40years to earn the same amount you could have earned in 4? That's absurd.

His entire generation is already set for life with his current salary. Take note this is just basic salary. He would still be earning huge amounts from Sponsorship, Endorsement and commercial deals on the side. Anything more is just luxury.

Even those at the championship level earn descent amount. According to the research I just did the average championship players earns 10k to 20k weekly. Capalogy has Spain average segunda division player ( Spain 2nd league) making 300k plus annually.

It's a very wicked reverse. The athlete earnings decline as they age. The others earnings increase as they age. If you're not a 1percenter 1percenter you're basically in the hands of God.

From feeding your entourage (I can't imagine the kin billing person like Osimhen go dey face)

Then the fact that you have to stretch that paper as long as possible to maintain lifestyle will have you taking all kinds of financial risks and you get burned
Osimhen earns £10 million yearly that's approximately fifteen billion, eight hundred and ninety-eight million naira. His one year salary would set 100 people up for a life time if not 200. Stop playing

What of expenses? Don't underestimate the advantage of steady money. 4 years is a very very short window to make money stretch for 30-40 years
The career person also has expenses. If you are given the choice to make your 40years salary in a 4 year window won't you take it?

Like afrodoc said, Besides you having a very short window to make money max 15yrs when other professions can be making money for 50yrs. Ozekhome, Afe Babalola Doctors etc can make money till 80yrs while their agemates that went to sports would have stopped making money like 40yrs ago

2. Sport is usually physical, So any injury to your body means the end of your earnings, So the 15yrs projected career can end in 3yrs, or 5yrs or even 6months. A knee injury, you will quickly spend the little money on t so you can get back, thats how you gradually blow everything on it
Lawyers can got court even on wheelchair.

3. You make money when you are young, when you are not wise about how to manage money. Imagine person gave 20yr old izzou $1m. All the girls from Enugu to Imo to Lagos go don hear am finish. Plus 500 Timberland boots 5000 Polo shirts

4. The money usually do not keep up with inflation. The guys who played ball in the 80s and 90s didn't really make as much money as they are now. Players like Maradona, in the 80s might be making about $80K per year which is big money then but not comparable to the money in sports nowadays where a top player like Ronaldo Messi can make almost $100M per year

Take 2 people top footballer from Nigeria, and top Lawyer or Banker from Nigeria. In the 20s the footballer will be way richer, 30s still be richer but gap is closing, by the 40s the career person will likely have caught up, and till they die no way the football can meet up again

The average Nigerian ex footballer anything above 15yrs of retirement , is broke. Thats why they hustle for NFA jobs, NPFL coaching jobs before you know it they have started gofundme for health cases
Even a 4 year career at a top club generates more money than a career person would in 40years, stop playing. Footballers are just wasteful.

Conte didn't use 3-4-3 through out the season. He was changing formation base on the players available and opponents. His versatility is one of the reasons Napoli won the league. 4-3-3 was the formation he even used the most.

The best way to know an unserious club and fanbase is how they react to winning trophies or other teams winning them.

Chelsea had so much success under Abramovich because of how they treated every competition. The fans, the owner, and the team go into every competition with the mentality of winning and never undermining anyone.

Here is an example. After winning the Champions league in 2012, chelsea had a not too good season in 2013 in the champions league and had to relegate to Europa league for finishing 3rd. Rival fans mocked them including myself.

And what did chelsea do, they went to the Europa league with the aim of winning, their fans, their owner demanded they win it and Chelsea won it; adding to their trophy cabinet and bragging right against rival clubs. At the end, Chelsea has won every major tournament winnable and are on the verge of winning a newly added competition.

But here at my club, we see being among the top 4 in the league has success. The new information now is that placing second in the league and getting to the semifinals of champions league is better than winning a trophy. Funny enough, some of our deluded fanbase look down on a trophy we haven’t even won in our history.

Interestingly, many of these same fanbase still hate Emery till date for losing that same Europa league trophy to Chelsea in the final. In addition, out messiah coach failed to win it for 3 good seasons.

Tell the same fans to show us the trophy they highly rate in our trophy cabinet, we have none to show for the past 22 years. How do we win big when we don’t even value the lesser trophies or acknowledge that other teams have done well for winning them. It’s not like we are Madrid or City in recent times who have had dominating wins in recent decade.

If una like, celebrate another second place next season while other clubs win trophies, na una know because me I’ve given up.
Just out of curiosity, Would you rather have spurs season or yours?

This was the league table when Amorim took over. Level on points with Bournemouth and Brentford, three points below Newcastle and Aston villa who are now top 5. 8 points above Palace, 9 above wolves and 5 above Everton. You are telling me with a straight face that Amorim needs a transition process of spending 200million plus before he can finish above 16th.

The truth is we have not been lucky with manager appointments. We need to keep having a go at it until we get there. A manager sets the tone/system for success. Forget all these structure stuff. Very few clubs in one or two leagues can do the whole structure thing and get away with it. The right manager will fix thee issues .
Even an ok manager would have you in the top 6 at worst. A bad manager would have you in 16th.

We have been progressively bad as a result of bad decisions over the years. So if you think bringing a new coach will change our story, I feel sorry for you.

Maybe we should call Ole back since you want to go back to those times.

Ok. Just like some people saying we have other problems to address before Onana.

If we had Qatari owners, we will do a massive clearout we will release Rashford, Shaw, Casemiro, Maguire, Onana, Sancho, Antony, etc from their contracts if they refuse to fine new clubs, Send Hojlund nd Ugarte on loan or sell them. Force them to go into U21, don't register anybody that refuse to be sold among the squad for any competition.

Buy brand new quality players with winning mentality. Bring in a manager, once he spends 6 months without any progress, sack and move on. Simple.

The greenwood issue is another problem, if such issues emerge, ignore the racist white supremacists.

If we don't do all these, we are finished

Then
Newcastle has Saudi Arabia owners. Do you see them spending billions and releasing players left, right and center? Like i said previously spending money has never been the issue and even this season with ineos we spent big. Greenwood is no longer an important discussion or relevant to our current position.

The reason we are sitting in 16th is down to the Manager.

We need to stop running Man Utd as a Christian Mission.
When the time came for Glazers to go finally , a Qatari owner who is a Man utd fan came. That was our biggest opportunity, we let racist and xenophobic English and White supremacist top reds to ask for the stingy, broke and incompetent Radcliffe. Look at how he has left the club now.

Greenwood was involved in a case with his girlfriend, they later resolved their differences and even had a child, virtue signaling united fans never gave him a chance, they hounded him out. Look at greenwood now.

We will regret these crucial mistakes.
Partey had almost this same issues, yet Arsenal swept it under the carpet and carried on. But our own we are defenders of the universe
Our current issues has nothing to do with greenwood or not having Qatari owners. Spending money on players has never been our problem.
