If we had won the game today, nobody would care if na lowblock or highblock. Unfortunately, we missed one too many clearcut chances.

Imagine where the team would be on the log if we somehow managed to win against the likes of Crystal Palace, Brighton etc.
Haven't you heard. The squad is not good enough to win against the likes of palace, Fulham, Bournemouth, etc. Infact there's no point in us winning any game this season at all because it might affect our future or something like that. Like Eph said what is the point in winning and climbing up the table when we can just keep on losing while preparing for next season. We need at least 8 new players in August before we can finish in the top 10.

And then what? So you can end in the top half of the table like Bournemouth?
I know you were hoping we would lose. Seems when we lose our future gets brighter to you.

He needs to play to the strength of the players ? which players are you talking about?! undecided undecided undecided
Which players did he use today? The Eriksen and Casemiro midfield combo that everyone was dreading before the game why it was it descent? Like I said before get the minimum from your available players and get freaking results.

We sacked Erik because we kept losing games, the players kept underperforming , and his relationship with them had gone to shiit. Why do you think Erik had serious issues with his players? Does it have anything to do with discipline and the players want to tell him how they want to play?
If Erik relationship with the players was gone we wouldn't have renewed his contract. All those relationship arguments are baseless. Erik was sacked because he was losing games and underperforming just like how the Everton Coach was sacked. Both club got a new coach to improve their fortunes and only one has done that.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Bombblacks: 5:02pm On Mar 09, 2025
Leyqute:
Nope. Sometimes you have better player quality and sometimes the coach might be underperforming.

But the rotten culture at United is not a secret…and is probably the worst in the league.

Here you see players like Sancho publicly having a spat against his coach and Garnacho liking every social media post that paints his teammates and even coach in a bad light.

This doesn’t exonerate the coach at all. But if your players are constantly playing rubbish every match day and making silly mistakes, it’s only common sense to put some of the blame on their shoulders as well.
No one is absolving the players of blame. You are the ones trying to absolve the coach of any blame by putting all the bad results on the players to defend amorim. With the squad he have he should be doing far far better.

LooL. You’re still wrong.

New signings give a sense of euphoria. That’s why you get quotes like the one you dug up. If you watch our games and see the lack of cohesion and silly mistakes we make, you’ll understand better.

I asked you to rate our last 5 summer transfer windows and for the last few pages, you’ve been prevaricating.
You are feigning ignorance and misusing the word.

You only get Europhia when you are confident about something. If the signings were poor and not going to improve the squad at the time they were signed you won't be getting any Euphoria. You will be lamenting and blaming the board for signing poorly. If we signed Wirtz in the summer you will be happy because you know he is world class player that will likely improve the squad. Stop trying to feigning ignorance when it's clear as day.

We are tired of seeing that kind of performance. Just two seasons ago, we were comfortable in the top 4. 2 seasons later, under the same manager, we managed to finish 8th. Some months later, he was sacked at 13th or so. We don't want any rubbish overperformance
The minimum thing a coach has to do is get the maximum out of his current players which amorim is not doing. Getting the maximum out of your current players is not overperformance, it's the minimum and that was why Erik was sacked. His replacement is even doing worst and rightly being called out.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Bombblacks: 4:45pm On Mar 09, 2025
Leyqute:
Wrong. A coach can only pass information to his players. What they do on the pitch is out of his hands and totally up to them. And if everybody decides to be playing rubbish and he doesn’t have capable replacements, he is powerless to do anything about it.
So the rest coaches in the league their players are following their instructions but it's only United players that are playing against their own coach instructions. Then why did we sack Erik ten hagg if it's the players and not the lack of any tactical structure?

Don't worry, very soon the Bournemouth and co will be stuck at the bottom half of the table, maybe you will change example by then. We have seen this too many times
Will that change the fact they used average players to over perform? Are those clubs not bottom half clubs on a norms.

You’re still making my point. Fans are always euphoric about new signings, me included. But you still won’t know that a player is a good signing until they play for you for 1-2 years.

If your players keep making silly mistakes, will you be confident they can beat average teams?
You were not euphoric for nothing. You saw actual reasons to believe the squad was improved and good enough that the Coach should take all the blame if he fails to deliver. I am saying A you are jumping to B. We are talking about recruitment not signings that came good. We needed a goalkeeper when dea gea left and got Onana, that was a recruitment we needed despite him being s..hit currently. We need another number ten currently and if we go out and get wirtz that's a recruitment we need despite the fact that he may flop. I hope you understand what am saying now.

It is not the job of the coach to tell his players to run. Neither is it his job to force his players to pass to each other so that they can score goals.

You can force a donkey to go to the river but you can’t force it to drink water. If the players at Nottingham and Bournemouth are egotistical and don’t follow the instructions of their coaches, they won’t be where they currently are.

You’re still wrong. Feel good factor or hype does not determine if a signing is good or not. If rumors surface that United want to go for Ronaldo AGAIN, some fans will be euphoric about it. Doesn’t mean that he’ll be a good signing or not. The proof is always in the pudding.
It's definitely the job of the coach to tell his players to run and follow his instructions. It's definitely the job of the players to get the best out of his players like those coaches at Bournemouth, Fulham are doing with more average players. How many of those players would you have taken before the season started over the ones at United?

Feedback and reaction will always tell if a transfer window has been satisfactory or not. You are on talking about a player being a success while I am talking about recruitment. You are mixing things up.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Bombblacks: 4:17pm On Mar 09, 2025
Please take note am not dragging these guys. These posts were in July and you can see how everyone was feeling good about the squad going into the season. Everyone was of the opinion that Eth has been backed and must deliver but now we are to believe the squad is not good enough to finish top 10.

larride:
Make I see who go blame board this season if the bald man disappoint.
Leyqute:
Board ke?

ETH has to deliver or else we get the right person in. What’s obvious is we now have competent football people in charge of football operations.

There’s no hiding place anymore. We can unequivocally lay blames at his feet now without mincing words.

eph12:
You know what I'm not backing?
1. Hojlund loses almost every ball sent to him. He can't hold off any defender and protect his ball. This has nothing to do with Amorimball or formation
2. Onana making silly mistakes including conceding directly from corner
3. Maguire pulling attackers shirt in the box or failing to properly set offside trap
4. Dalot inability to defend and attack properly. He has been here for years and still fails to make the best decisions 9/10
5. Lack of control in the midfield. Bruno is not someone that wants to control the midfield. He is best known for trying his quick passes to release attackers. Best suited for teams that prefer to play on the counter
6. Garnacho missing clear chances and being selfish 100% of the time. This has changed a bit and probably improving but he is still far away
7. Our first team attackers are Garnacho, Zirkzee, Hojlund and Amad. Amad is injured which means we have just 3 in good condition. Which serious team has only 3 first team attackers? Abi is this one amorimball too?

Finally go and bring the coach you want to bring and not replace most of these players, let's see if they will not struggle until they either voluntary resign of get sacked
I am certain Everton fans were also having this same complaints about individual players under their last coach but it's the same players Moyes is using to sit above us. Barca fans were also complaining about Raphinha, lewandowski etc last season now they are doing great under Flick. No matter how you try to dress it we shouldn't be finishing below 10th with the squad we have.

Leyqute:
Playing for Man Utd doesn’t automatically make you better than other teams.

If you get outplayed and overworked by average teams - Newcastle, Fulham and Crystal Palace, you deserve to lose.

Wrong. You can be happy or sad about a signing but that’s immaterial. The only way to know if a player is a good signing is gauging their performances 1-2 years after you’ve signed them..
It's the coach duty to make sure his team is not outworked and outplayed by average teams. If those coaches can get more from those average teams then our own coach should be getting more from his above average players.

You were talking about recruitment during the last 5 windows. Reaction and feedbacks after the recruitment window from fans will signify if it was good or bad. After the spending in August bringing in 5 players the general conscious here was we have improved the squad and should be doing better than last season Yes or no?

I am certain if anyone had said Notthingham Forest, Brighton, Fulham , Bournemouth etc had a better squad than United before the season started most here would rained insult on that person but now we are suppose to believe the squad is not good enough for even a top 10 finish. Now we need 10 to 15 new players to finish above the likes of Bournemouth and Fulham.

Why stress myself when it's everywhere online? Nothing I say that will make you change your mind about Amorim so I'm not sure why I should bother. The only thing that can convince you is results which is not a bad thing
Before you back a coach despite having poor results you must have seen something from his previous teams to give you the confidence that yes, if backed with his players he will turn good or you have seen something from his current team that he is trying to implement which is not working due to not having his players for that style.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Bombblacks: 3:21pm On Mar 09, 2025
Leyqute:
We could’ve done that, yes. And that’s what I thought they were doing when they didn’t sack him and the results were not improving.

Irrespective of the coach situation, the truth stands. This squad is average at best, and needs serious strengthening to compete at the top level.

In your own opinion, do you think we recruited well? How would you rate our last 5 summer windows in terms of quality of recruit and value for money?
The squad even being average at best according to your words is not a 10th to 20th place team. The Manager and the team are greatly underperforming.

At the time of those recruitment what was the general conscious here. Were people happy and satisfied or not ? That's how you judge a window not looking back 3 to 5years with insight. We have spent lots in these past 5 years and if we haven't gotten value for money then it's down to the coaches who were given the players they asked for and couldn't use them.

You can’t sign a new coach mid-season and blame bad lethargic performances on his “new style “ when the same players have been churning out bad performances with the old styles they have been playing for years.
What is the point of getting a new coach mid season if it's not to implement his new style to boost the current performance of the team? I really don't understand this argument. Rather than improving we have gotten even worst. We should have just sticked with Ten hagg then if we wanted the same level of performance to continue and get him new players since it's the squad and not the coach/tactics.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Bombblacks: 2:31pm On Mar 09, 2025
We have seen this dance before. 3 seasons from now, 600million plus spent on getting 10 plus new players and under a new coach when Amorim would have probably been sacked, we will be here having the same discussion on how the squad is average, bad and the new coach needs his own set of players to do anything tangible. Rinse and repeat.

We are not playing Amorimball. The formation alone does not make it Amorimball. We don't have the players to play it. Right now we're at the same place we were towards the end of ETH's time.
So what position and what players do we need before we start playing Amorimball? Again what exactly is Amorimball.

How is that relevant to anything? How many years has slot been at Liverpool. Moyes is outperforming Amorim despite being at a worst club. Amorim has no credit in the bank currently.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Bombblacks: 12:43pm On Feb 24, 2025
I can't stand anyone defending Amorim currently. Moyes went to Everton who were relegation contenders and in 8 games won 4, draw 2 and lost 2. That's the same amount of wins Amorim has in 15games at United which includes embarrassing Home defeats and you all think it's just the players. He has underperformed badly even with this current crop of players.
