A tribute to Jonathan, though you failed to attain our desired pass mark in governance, we are proud to have had an humble president like you. I saw this online and felt like sharing. If you have never held any leadership role, you cannot begin to understand, to rule a nation is no easy task, no less one as diverse as nigeria. God bless you and we will miss you.

Hasino2258:The assembly will be dissolved on June 6, so he remains the Senate president till then. |
Honestly the gala night was just not it. Joke Sylvia Is a wonderful actress but definitely NOT A GOOD HOST. She was really nervous & she and the cohost started gisting on stage when Atiku was talking.. so unprofessional.. Dj Cuppy is cute, but her performance was rubbish. Considering the magnitude of the event, she was just supposed to be mixing in a corner while someone else performs not stand at the center stage as the main presenter. The organisers are real beginners, anyways maybe it's their first time... |

Men, the movie - inception is wow, wow, wow.... i can so watch it a million times. |
As i always say, we Nigerians are not united at ALL. The tribal bigotry is just too much. May God help us, tooo many tribes hence the tribal divide.. but still our main problem is that we aint accomodating... Customer service - zero, Manners - zero, etiquette - zero, i need not go on. We just need to remember that our citizenship comes first, we are Nigerians first and our tribe comes second. |
Am I the only one who think this is alittle fishy.. a so called random person decides to walk from Lagos to Abuja and yet he get so much publicity. Are u saying if I decide to do same I would be received by the president elects wife. Hmm. Nigeria need to act more believable scripts, I ain't falling for this one. I applaud APC though, highly creative. |
The major ish I have with Nigerians is their ability to make absurd conclusions without any form of research or analysis. Overtime we generate a mindset based on what we hear, what we see and what we believe to have been the norm. with education one would expect that Nigerians would shed this 'archaic belief system' and inculcate a more educated, certified and research proven one. never will I agree or even contemplate for a second that females are less intelligent than men. I wonder how a learned person would jump to that conclusion. Even using Nigerias ministerial slot has a random case study, how many male ministers have made A lasting impact, the average Nigerian can remember names like Oby Ezekwesily, Okonjo, Dora to mention a few, still the most active and intelligent ministers till date. I am of the view that we have intelligent men and women, no sex is by nature weaker. Rather cultures aid is empowering one at the expense of the other. I agree to some extent that the Nigerian culture has relagated women to domestic objects, even till date in the north and some middle eastern countries, women aren't sent to school and men are from birth given that orientation that they are the STRONGER sex. This na all wash. I was privy to graduate from a Nigerian federal university and from my 100 level till graduation (not to sound proud), but I don't think there was anyone on an higher echelon than moi, there were many on the same par and some more intelligent only in the course of study, but in terms of overall knowledge, nada. Now I am not talking of your ability to get A in calculus and your English being depressing. Being Intelligent is an all rounder. We have both intelligent men and women, the truth is just that the men are just more vocal and tend to throw it in your face and the women more laid back. I laugh when peeps talk of sections like politics on nairaland, sorry to burst your bubble guys but intelligent people have more productive things to do than spend the entire day on nairaland ( Nairaland is wonderful, pls don't misunderstand me). They occasionally flash in and out. About girls being obsessed with fashion and make up, well look at it this way, there are alot of guys who know more about Chelsea than the history of Nigeria, the same with girls. Both sex have a blend of the intelligent, the funny, the social and fashion conscious, the nerds, the football freaks, the computer dorks, the leaders and the followers. SIMPLE. |
texazzpete:I laugh in Spanish... Take it or not, majority of northerners are like a flock, they are obedient and work together. If you win the support of a few, you win the support of all. Unlike the southern counterpart that are more divided and opinionated. No politician understands the north like Obsanjo, Tinubu is coming up, rather quickly. you seem to have a problem with reading, in my previous post I wrote 'Nigerians want change'; are northerners not Nigerians. politics is all about calculation, at our current state in Nigeria, you can win with or without the support of the average Nigerian. People shout change, ask them to give a tenable reason why APC will deliver that, they start spluttering. I hope APC delivers though, because I love Nigeria. Just to reiterate my point that Jonathan lost not because of 'the change shouted for or craved for by the majority of Nigerians', but because the power that be decamped to APC. Lesson for future contestants Win the ssupport of the north and you win the election. Please always ensure you read and UNDERSTAND before commenting. It helps.. |
Nigerians.. while I don't underestimate the point that poor governance and corruption affected Jonathan's re-election Bid . The honest truth is that, he lost due to the powers that be, people in the corridors of power wanted him to lose. I say with confidence that if Obasanjo and Gemade and other top peeps that decamped to APC were still in PDP, Jonathan would have won hands down, regardless of Nigerians chant for change on social media. The earlier Nigerians start realizing that pdp lost because it's was a party divided amongst itself and not because of 'Nigerians that want change', the better for us all. Democracy is a game of numbers, no candidate can win in Nigeria without the support of the north, Jonathan lost this and that's why he lost, simple. It's had absolutely nothing to do with our votes in the south east, south south, south west, our numbers have been and will continue to be insignificant. |
This is wow, thumbs up... I So love intelligent people... |
Sorry please, i don't quite understand the story? what i grabbed was that the letter is in pocket was the application for loan from baba to the bank, so finding it in his pocket means that they refused to offer assistance right ![]() Really nice piece but i didn't get the ending. |
Well i know a rehabilitation center in Abuja where they have group counseling and therapy, it's highly interactive and cool but it's not free. |

just to crack y'all up: Only a courageous woman can fry a bunch of plantain without tasting any - Albert Macauley (1872) He who says nothing lasts forever has never tried Hausa perfume - Nelson Mandela (1973) He who completely unwraps banana and Ga kenkey before eating cannot keep a secret - Abraham Lincoln (1864) Any man that uses his teeth to cut meat from pepper soup, with his eyes wide open, is not afraid of anything - Williams Shakespeare (1900) Anyone who graduates without experiencing a strike, has never been to Ghana- Lord Lugard (1904) He who refuses to regard bread and akara as a type of sandwich is a racist - Martin Luther King jnr (1788) Any man who drinks Alomo bitters without squeezing his face, is capable of murder - Michael Faraday (1899) Drinking Garri doesn't mean u're poor, but allowing the Garri to swell b4 drinking is poverty - Queen Elizabeth (1893) He who runs around looking 4 scissors to cut indomine seasoning sachet is not hungry - Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe (1947) No matter how hot your temper is, it cannot cook yam - Goodluck Jonathan (2013) Anyone who reads this without laughing is either looking 4 job stack in the month waiting to be paid- Barack Obama (2014). ucheheart:Truth is, while you are right about the bible verse " a time when 10 women will run to a man and beg him to marry them ", it doesn't necessarily mean that the female population exceeds the male, it might just mean that women would get more desperate at a particular point in time. Assume a classroom scenario of 30 people, 15 ladies and 15 guys, are you saying if there's one fresh guy, there's no possibility that the 15 girls will trip for him. I i feel (though i could be wrong) that the verse means ladies would be more desperate. Not because of a decline in male population but because, 1) their criteria (wealthy, handsome. ..) for choosing a guy will limit the number of guys available. 2) demand for the available ladies would reduce as guys probably have other things on their mind. |
please which site can I watch the live stream.. it's not on channels... |
One of the reasons I love GEJ, (though am not partisan), he has given the judiciary free hands for the past 4 years. Democracy indeed... |
"There is a popular view that unrest in the northeast improves the chances of Jonathan’s re-election. It is not unjustified." With all due respect this is the dumbes.t view I have ever read. One of the major reason why most southerners are skeptical about re-electing GEJ is due to the insurgency in the north so I fail to see the positive correlation between the two. Don't you really think that if the Chibok girls are found tomorrow, it will double if not triple Jonathan's chances of winning. In fact I might be right to say he will undoubtedly win the elections.... |
Though I ain't partisan but Reno is right ,Nigeria's' problem is the lack of strong institutions. Throwing corrupt officials in prison will not stop corruption, it will just make individuals more professional and discreet when they steal. You need to put systems in place that would prevent stealing. 90% of politicians in both parties are corrupt now will you throw them all in prison, hell no... For instance, what reduces shoplifting in shop rite or any other large supermarket, it's not that people who shop there are saints, but simply the knowledge that cameras are installed by every stall..... |
femcruz:They do...not to the best of my knowledge... |
That's why I love the south, we are diplomatic, even if most people there dislike Buhari, they still allow him have a peaceful campaign, cannot say so much about our northern "brothers"... |
ovo4u:Interesting question, cause most comments are from southerners.. |
This is wow, I am highly impressed, glad to know we still have some intelligent Nigerian ladies with the right sense of humor. |
