Religion / Re: To Tithe or Not to Tithe? by bootysue(f): 10:16pm On Aug 18, 2005
malachi 3:10 i think, dont laugh at me if am wrong

i can only encourage everyone to pay their tithe cos nothing secures us more than that. i have been paying my tithe for years and i have no regrets at all, infact i have numerous testimonies that will take forever to tell.
in a nutshell, if u havent been doing it, simply put God to test and come to ur own conclusion.
Family / Re: Wife Beatings in Africa by bootysue(f): 3:40pm On Aug 18, 2005
i don't agree with u on this issue at all seun, why should a woman have to train her son not to be a wife beater? thats absurd! would a man rely on his mother to teach him how to have sex?(excuse my language) u had better be kidding on this seun because i definately have a different opinion of u love.

i feel any man that beats his wife up is nothing but a Socially Challenged Uneducated Male i.e a SCUM, a complete Nutter and a freaking PRICK.  these kind of men should not be in the midst of people, perhaps a zoo is the right place (where even animals don't do that) or a jungle where they can be isolated from right thinking human beings.

i wonder if it is actually not the men that we should be sorry for atimes because it seems like some mental issue here, it just dosent make sense, how can violence be a way of communicating with a woman u call your wife for that matter? i sense some male incompetence / lack of self esteem here, otherwise, what will make a man raise his hand to a woman who we all know he can obviously overpower, even when he is asleep. shocked

i really feel for women going through DV and i can only wonder why they r still hanging on, its everywhere by the way but it's a crime in alot of places except africa, come to think of it, there aint laws in africa anwway.

u are dammed right hot angel, u can't eat ur cake and have it all the time. i was nothing but a tease and used to love flirting alot (even unintentionally)but one day i decided i had done enough. why would anyone want to cause some brother any trouble anyway?

dont get me wrong, i still find myself doing it once a while but i just tend to curb it as quickly as i see that jezebel thing preparing to attack. lipsrsealed

sad i really feel sorry for you all that have been thru that bitter experience, what you have to realise now is that it's taken u a step above those that havent been in that situation. i think most of the time, its a case of good riddance to bad rubbish, something better always follows, so for the ones that are still hurting, the pains will definately be wiped away. its only a matter of time. perhaphs i will share mine one of these days

Health / To Slim Down My Rear End by bootysue(f): 11:35pm On Jul 09, 2005
I am 101% sure I am acting as the voice of many black women.

I have been adding weight lately which now makes me a size 14 (down). However, the problem I have is my butt. Prior to now, I used to love the attention I get from men but now I can't stand it anymore. My sweets loves it to bits and thats the only consoltaion I've got but I really want to lose some of it.

I have done everything possible from jogging to gyming and swimming but it hasn't worked at all. Instead, all the other parts go down, but it feels like it only gets bigger. It just flipping has a life of its own. It can be really embarrasing and my friends tease me alot with it and guys saying things like, "I knew it was you from the back". That to me sounds cheeky but they ain't wrong at all.

This is not a joke. Please give me all the tips you have and I will work on them.

Nairaland / General / Re: Saying "Sorry" by bootysue(f): 10:54pm On Jul 09, 2005
There was nothing I hated more than saying "sorry" when I was growing up, even to my parents. It was like punishment.

However, I later realised nothing works as fast as that word and it doesn't cost me a thing to say "sorry" now. Now I can't help thinking how silly I was; even my sibblings are amazed.

By the way, it took a single sermon to change me.
Romance / Re: Who should be the provider in a relationship? by bootysue(f): 3:12pm On Jul 08, 2005
most african men love to exercise authority (freaking egocentirc) but when it comes to money, they compromise, dosent that sound absurd?

dablessed and emalie i totally agree with you
Business / Re: What Business Can I Start With 4,000 Naira? by bootysue(f): 2:55pm On Jul 08, 2005
option 1-am assuming u already have a mobile phone, u can buy some recharge cards and start the usual phone call businness

option 2- get some boys out and sell poor water

option 3- give it to the needy and someday you get the reward back in 100 folds

i understand your point viera which is very true, however, how do u explain the penalty we should have been awarded but denied becos "almighty" FIFA has given refrees absolute power to decide who gets what. that was a very painful match for me and having watched the wimbledon tenis championship earlier in the day btw venus williams and davenport i couldnt help concludingg that its all the same racism. if not, why would messi be given the golden boot, i thought it was usually given as a compensation to the team that looses. perhaphs someone can correct me if am wrong.

i guess what people in this situation feel is not really what they would have loved to feel, but thanks to the ever nosy set of nigerians who always find it hard minding their business, i wonder why, meanwhile, not that they have got a solution to the problem.
i have a 30year old unmarried friend who is so pretty and nice but would never stop worrying about her situation cos of what people say, especially cos most of her friends are married, that ideaology really sucks and is dead myopic, and of course i dont balme her, people around her always make sure they remind her daily of her age (am assuming she dosent know)
if a lady is 30 and not married yet, it dosent mean she wont get married, she could have lost a chance but we all always have another chance, whats the point in getting married today to please people and divorcing the next day.
moreover, its a free world, not every woman/ man wants to get married, that simple.

TV/Movies / Re: Common Flaws in Nigerian Home Videos by bootysue(f): 1:37pm On Jul 02, 2005
i wonder why we still dont have movie critics in nigeria yet. sometimes i want to give out some of our films to colleagues at work but seeing the usual daft mistakes prevents me from doing such, we have a long way to go, but am sure we will get there with live critics coming on air regularly. we see things like-

girls still wearing lipgloss/ lipsticks when in bed, especially after having sex

colour of clothes suddenly changing e.g from black to white after a gun shot

uneccessary waste of time in various scenes, even the dumbest man would know what is expected

u can predict the storyline from the name, espically when all the soundtracks says it all out.

always too much volume, rather, noise and echo

and pls,not all famous actresses/ actors can act all roles even though they force them to

finally, yoruba film makers should be banned from translating the message in english as this can cause headache . the eglish ones as well should learn things about looking and acting posh (especially when they are acting that role) from people like rmd, rita dominic, stella

TV/Movies / Re: Your Favorite Nigerian Movies? by bootysue(f): 9:56pm On Jun 07, 2005
i really insist on nigeria coming up with strong movie critics cos most of the films being produced are always predictable, senseless and with no story line.
this is not to say there are no nice ones though, i think missing angel, usofia in london, games women play and keeping faith wont be a waste of time

i am beginning to wonder if i wont give up on our films again cos as a colleague of mine says, nigerian films are mad. a bit of sense and real acts might perform some wonders. common, what happened to producers like amaka igwe, zeb ejiro e.t.c

Music/Radio / Re: Genevieve Nnaji in the Music Profession? by bootysue(f): 2:25pm On Jun 06, 2005
hope u dont mind me asking monica but what planet are u from? shocked

perhaps u have already seen the edited version of genevieve's song, tell us then maybe what we listened to/ watched was the first attemp that has now been taken as the original or betterstill, a plagiarized version.

common let this girl know the truth so she can improve, we all know she's a star in acting, but with that song, she wouldnt even get anywhere with the most accommodating louis walsh (x-factor).
u are not her sister are you?
Sports / Re: Will Schevchenko finally become the world player of the year if AC Milan wins? by bootysue(f): 2:20pm On Jun 02, 2005
pity ac milan could loose out to liverpool (not dissing liverpool though) .

schevchenko could have lost the deciding penalty against liverpool but he was purely at his best.

dont think he can win it again this yr anyway, ronaldiho most likely.
Music/Radio / Re: 2pac, B.I.G. Who made a greater impact in the hip-hop world? by bootysue(f): 2:09pm On Jun 02, 2005
of course 2 pac. thats comparing a tram with a train i think. 2 pac's music is evergreen and clearly he's got a rare talent.

surely i can't count how many albums were released after his death.
TV/Movies / Re: Who is your Favorite Nigerian Movie Star? (actor or actress) by bootysue(f): 2:02pm On Jun 02, 2005
Stella Damasus is simply the best nigerian movie star, she is a natural actress, i mean, the qualities are inborn and she appears to be very modest as well. i will do anything to meet stella. my husband would hardly sit down to watch a naija movie but when he watched stella act in (games women play), he wouldnt watch anyone else. she is absolutely brilliant.

omotola, rita dominic, steph okere, genevieve, rmd(simply the best male actor with a strong charisma) desmond elliot, sola sobowale and my darling nkem owoh are bundles of talent as well.

thumbs up for u all.

however, i think we are long overdue for blunt movie critics in naija cos some films shouldnt have been released at all, complete bollocks. e.g paradise in america, dont dare watch it if u havent wasted ur time watching it yet!
Religion / Re: Is She the Will of God for Me? What Really Is The Will of God? by bootysue(f): 11:50am On Jun 02, 2005
i wouldnt go to a pastor to ask if a man is the will of God for me cos i can always ask, although one really needs to listen to hear.
belive me this really works, ask God fervently and do not be scared to hear a negative reply. its for ur own good at the end of the day.
Family / Re: What Are Your Views On Divorce? by bootysue(f): 11:36am On Jun 02, 2005
reckon its from the pit of hell sad
only one reason is permissible for divorce and thats infidelity as we all know

dont u guys think if u put as much effort as u put into ur business in ur marriage, divorce cases will be lesser?

women, patience is the word, not saying u shd be a dummy though.

if the success of a marriage is dependent on the men, they would have been the ones seeing the midwives. grin

Music/Radio / Re: Genevieve Nnaji in the Music Profession? by bootysue(f): 11:16am On Jun 02, 2005
Bless you, Trish, for your sincere comment. I really do not think our lovely looking Genevieve sought advice before embarking on her journey into singing.

First of all Genevieve has paid her dues in acting- cool, thumbs up for her. But singing? Hell No, it ain't going to fly! Most actresses sing and obviously can then act but rarely vise versa.

Secondly I have tried without success to classify this music of hers but can't find a category for it. Can anyone help? Maybe then I can begin to appreciate it. (I wish)

Not being cheeky but it ain't a day's job to be Stella Damasus.
