Teaching is an added experience but not all experience are relevant depending on your course of study. Applying for a mechanical position in an engineering firm, your teaching experience/skill doesn't count.

Teaching weather in engineering or medicine should be considered as a great skill. Without teachers you won't boast of being an engineer or medical doctor.
