If that's the case, the system will not allow them to proceed beyond that point, so they won't be able to submit.
Unfortunately the system allows you to proceed to sign and submit. The confirmation will come with the picture missing but with instruction to bring the picture to the interview. This is misleading though, the system should be amended to follow your line of thought.

I have read a number of similar complaints lately, I hope their is no system glitch. If the system confirmed that the upload was successful, then there is no reason why it shouldn't appear on the confirmation page, expect there is a system glitch.

Log in again to reprint the confirmation page, if the pix does not appear then I suggest you create a new application from the current one.
Ask those that experience such, they probably used a scanned copy. Not everybody is good at manipulating the size and format of a photo to suit the required standard. This was my reason for giving the simplest and most direct method to getting the upload correct.

I did just that and it uploaded successfully but not on my confirmation page
Try the digital copy as advised except you want to put your computer skill to test.

I'm lost myself.. attached here is what the printed confirmation page looks like. Please house, what do we do?? Interview is this comn week! No photo uploaded.. the person assumed she would snap and attach on gettn there.
you must have uploaded a passport that does not conform with the required standard. A new form will be filled. A digital copy of the passport directly from the photographer is what is needed for the application. Don't use a scanned copy. Meanwhile, you will need to update your appointment profile with the new application/confirmation number.

Hello All,

What if I ain't travelling with cash for childbirth? Can I just tell them at port of entry that my card is loaded? Do they check? Òr tell them my husband will be joining me?
Just tell them where the money is or will come from. They need to know.

AH! you this sombody you are playing with fire o! so you want all the money you spent for visa and ticket as well as all your time to waste just like that? in this hard time "in datigbogurl's voice'. Bikonu dont try it o. Stick to the duration you filled on your DS160 form then when you are in the USA you change your return date to few days to the exipration of your stamped date.

to before warned is......... complete it.

All the best
few days before expiration of the "admitted till" date will not work for somebody of working age who is on visit visa. The question is, what will you doing the state for more than 30days without working?. This will be hard for a young person (who is not in the state for medicals) to answer.

Hello house

Please I need advise. I and my wife intend to have our next baby in d U.S. we are yet to apply for visa.

My question is,should I include my other kids(2 kids) in d application? I want them to be there when the baby arrives, yet I don't want the VO to think that we want to elope ( a friend's similar experience informs my being skeptical)

Thanks
abujaNIV watching. Abscond is the word.
To answer tour question, it all depends on your tie(s) and financial capability. I got a visa with wife for birthing. I later took my kids for their interview so they can join us. There was really no transcript except that the VO scan my passport and read the precious VO's note. Then she made this comment "if they over stay their visa, you will be implicated".
I don't know our strong my ties are but we are all back in Naija.

Hello house. Please I need help. When I filled my Ds-160 form, my passport was rejected, but on the confirmation page, it says I must bring a passport photograph satisfying the requirements to the interview.
However, I later saw another thing in the appointment letter that those who failed to upload their passports would be turned back to reschedule their appointment.. Please has anyone been in this shoe before? Am I safe to take the passport with me to interview and ignore the information on the appointment letter, or what should I do?
You will be turned back. Ensure you upload a passport photograph using a digital/soft copy in line with the prescribed format (not a scanned photo). A cropping tool is also available for use on the application.

Hello house! How many replies is one to get when one applies for Visa on Arrival?
I sent my application on Friday and I only got a reply that says received. Is that what I will travel with?
My flight is on the 28th.
You should get 2 signed letter by Monday. On VOA, I think they are very efficient.

i appreciate your reply and others.
Truly i've not been a fan of 'Travel' section of NL, and i've not done my research personally.
I'm a final year students of unilorin, about starting 2nd sem exam, when i was called by my big Sis who gave me the update 2days ago, that i will go and later come back for my NYSC, going there to work.
Out of curiosity i asked those questions here, my sis wont like it if i ask for the contact of our in-law overseas who know someone, at an early stage, that is why i brought my curiosity here.
I hope we all get my point sirs

i won't mind helping those that may be having issues getting Visa in the future, just a newbie for now.
Read the through the thread. Most people living in America don't know anything about visa application (and this include those living there legally). The best they do is to introduce you to an agent. The agent will likely misrepresent you in your application and this has future consequence.

@ nefertitiram so you only need your international passport that has valid US visa on it to get the BC and US passport.
The information is correct from the vital record requirements on paper. However, I was advised to go with a second ID by the hospital and the county officer (@ Fort Bend, Texas) insisted on a second ID. Sometimes rules are applied differently from what is written black and white.

Hello everyone, I'm asking this question on behalf of my younger brother in yankee. He got a 2 years US visa in April this year, then travelled in middle of May, on his arrival at the POE, he was told he can only stay in the US until 1st of June 2017 (2wks stay). But, today is 8th of July and he's still in the US. But he plans on leaving by next month to come back to Nigeria. So, we're just scared of what might happen if he wants to return probably by next year. Will it be possible for him to also apply for a visa for his wife & kids? We need advice's please. What's his fate on coming back next year? What will happen to the current 2 years visa?

Abeg, make ona no fry us too much with yabbing o! Just go straight to the point on your advice please, Lol. Thanks in advance!
I have seen l responses here and other threads. You may need to ask your brother some questions. Like
1. What was his stated purpose of travel during the visa interview?
2. Did he state a contrary purpose at POE?
3. What prompted the CBP to stamp him in for 2 weeks? You may need his transcript at the POE.
4. What is the date of return on his ticket?
Answer to these questions should clear the air.

So true. I am not even sure if I heard the approve your visa part. I only noticed him putting our passports aside and the passing the proxy form. I had to drag my wife as I took my leave (she didn't know the interview has ended).
Sorry to ask, how do you guys notice others' interview outcomes. I seems to get lost in-between the multiple sessions the two times I was there.

U.S visa payment does not go through clearing. It credits the vendor's account directly. The vendor should be able to activate your passport details on the appointment portal in few hours.
Never worry about the date. Banking system does not recognize weekends and public holidays. Transactions on these days take the next working day.

Good morning everyone, I am a new member of this forum and I would like to ask few questions as I am 8 months gone. I am currently in Europe with a valid temporary resident permit and I just started considering giving birth in the state.
1. What are my chances of getting a visa as I am 8 months gone.
2. Should I tell the VO I am going for child birth or just family visit because I have an invitation from my sis in law.
3. Like how many weeks do i need in total (booking an interview appointment, getting the visa and leaving for the state).
Less I forget, I am a new mum and a first time mum. Your advice and contributions will be highly appreciated. Hope to read from you all soonest. Thank you.
No time maybe other ones. Continue to learn and gather more information, you may need it in future.

I actually hate when I'm unable to comment freely sha. I saw things, things, just this last week here! Was in Lagos, and had reason to be at Walter Carrington, precisely IBTC PLACE. On my way out, I noticed things have changed lots around the embassy area, just wanted to feel the pulse of the environment, the aura.

Well, the touts weren't really around just yet, the police officers were on with their control on where to go through and not go through, was just SMH, the helping hands/officers at the point of intake - see demonstration of power and carrying on as God ehn - you go fear fear, the false humility garbed Nigerians on the queue and on their way to the queue, etc.

Boy, I said to walk into the car park, wow, the touts are well organised now oh, shuo, na here dem come get their head office now? I met an old friend and his wife whom were prepping to go in for an interview (immigrant visa he said), he needed to go pee as we gisted, even those at the peeing point collecting money sef, you need to hear their talk, seems everybody is working for somebody higher in that domain from their communications and have loads of remissions to do by end of day, so, no joy at all.

Oh boy, I saw things, fake things. Quite painful that is the much we have reduced ourselves to sha, I may not say much because of the VOs reading us here too. Is it the last minute big man dressing that counts not? You are wearing white lace agbada on your very dirty brownish and showing inner wear? That gives you off as faker than fake IMO. Aso oke agbada and beads etc were being magically brought out and worn at corners mehn. Saw a group of very hungry looking visa REFUSED people being scolded by their leader or packager as the case may be. Omo, our people can lie for Africa, do we really think these VOs don't see this things we the untrained "VOs" can see easily?

Then a couple too, the man was sweating profusely in his assumed suit but carpenter made coat, his neck buttons weren't properly done, his tie position got on my nerves, I had to beckon on him and asked if he was here for an interview and he answered in the affirmative, asked if the tie was necessary he said yes, well, I just had to help him do his buttons right and position his tie properly but the old fashioned jacket, the over sized pants and rioting dressing was seriously turning me off sha. Also helped someone escape being swindled by those touts as they were trying to tell him what more he needs do before going in, I just checked and saw his needed documents where intact and told him to ignore and just go in, and he did.

Then the big one, you mean these guys really bring "wedding rings" to sell at that car park? Dayum!!! That reminds of a young chap we travelled together from DXB to JFK earlier on in the year, a nairalander on this thread he said he was - he might be reading this now or soon too, I could see and tell him all his fakes, he agreed and asked to be put through, he was so fake I had to run far from him at the POE so as not to get into trouble for associating with him if found out, I no just fit shout.

Dudes, let's be calm and relaxed please, I just don't like where we have found ourselves, we can get better, really. Nigerian youths ARISE! See the effect of our Eastern compatriots voice and lately their Arewa counterparts too on the political class, WE CAN....
Exactly my observation. I saw things outside (car park) than I could see inside the embassy.
I was told to dress well by my boss too, but I was like, Oga, these VOs should see me like my normal day. I still hung my I.D sha to add little shakara

Check the pregnancy policy on their site. It is clear and understandable. Who can issue the letter, when it is required, period within which it must be written and what to be stated on the letter can be found there. Check it yourself to ensure you do not miss anything.
BTW the calculation is to confirm that you are not expected to give birth 4 weeks from the flight date.

Yippie! I scaled the dreaded Houston POE.

If you will recall my story about how I, hubby and son applied for dropbox, were called for interview and denied visa  in Abuja despite multiple travels to the U.S. I went to Lagos 2 weeks after and got my visa approved by God's grace so on this journey, I also prayed to God to go with me.

I arrived yesterday. So, as we were asked to move forward to wait in line for the CBP officer, I quickly scanned for a cool looking face and stayed there.

My turn...
CBP... Hi
Me ...Hi, hands him over my passport and immigration card
CBP.... checks the card and asked: Are you bringing any food, meat?
Me.. No
CBP..... I can see you have declared cash over 10k. How much do you have?
Me... $12,410
CBP... why are you coming with so much money?
Me.... Because I'm here to have my baby
CBP..Oh! You are pregnant? With my bloated face and obvious belle oooo
Me... yes
CBP... Did you already fill the white paper to declare the amount?
Me.. Yes, then I asked my self, which white paper is this guy talking about? I know I'm supposed to fill that after being stamped in. Then I asked him. Sir, which paper are you talking about? I only filled this one that was given on the plane.
CBP.... Alright, place your fingers on.....   took my fingerprint and picture. So you will step aside for me. I will call an officer to take you to a place where you will fill the form and declare your cash. I did and he immediately calls someone, gave him my passport and the person just directed me to where to go and hands me back my passport.

All these took less than 2 minutes.

I went downstairs and declared the cash and while the  CBP officer was doing his job, I checked my passport and realized the first guy  did not stamp me in so I was hoping this one will stamp me in after but when he was done, he just told me to go so I told him that I've not been stamped in. He said I should have. I told him no. He checked my passport and when he didn't see it,  he said that's weird, how can they admit me in and not stamp my passport. He wanted to place a call to d unit upstairs but then, his colleague said he should call the guy that admitted me in directly so as not to put him trouble. They checked the system to see who it was and said oh! It's the new guy! Me thinking,  no wonder he was asking for white paper.  Na so dem call am oooo. D guy said he will come down to stamp it. I come begin dey wait.  I waited for like 20min d guy no gree come. They were pissed with him, they called him again and he said he's no longer coming that they should stamp it. The guy just told me not to worry and went in to stamp it. Then when he brought back my passport, I told him maybe the other guy must have forgotten to stamp it.

He said dont mind him and he doesn't want to admit it and we are trying to help him here.

Well, na so God win again ooo

Lesson learnt, always check your passport before leaving their sight and if in doubt of anything, ask questions.

Don't be afraid of Houston POE as long as you have done the right thing.

Best wishes everyone.

Congratulations. Good news coming from Houston POE. Naso one CBP officer serve my DW noodles during the long check.

Your wife have a visa so she won't be allowed to attend the interview with you (being an adult). I don't really know if you actually stand a chance (God knows all) but you can increase it.
1.Do everything you were told about being honest.
2.Let your wife create time and take the children for their interview first. She will need to take copy of her visa along.
3. Attend your own interview afterwards

The best interview is ticking the right box as per ties and connection to Nigeria.. even if you're the last person to be interview on the day so far you have the necessary ties on your side and you can pass your answer across clearly I see no reason why you will be denied.

You have decided on what you want to do but don't misinform people. It is not necessary.

When I did naija passport for my child I was not asked for NPC. They used her US BC and registered her under foreign birth. That is all
Just because you disagree doesn't make another person's opinion a misinformation. I never pass an information with my comment rather I was taking one.

You said you got an int'l passport without NPC BC, fine. Desoul said he got one with correct information, fine. I am going with desoul on this one and that is not information/misinformation.

Please, we can disagree with ourselves opinion/position and not necessarily calling it a misinformation.

The truth is, the National Population Commission is meant to register (keep a civil register) of all Nigerian citizens whether born in Nigeria or abroad. The Commission is also to register deaths and still births. The Commission derives its powers from the Constitution. The Commission's Department of Vital Registration actually carries out that function. I think further clarification on this issue can be sought from the National Population Commission.

Thanks. I checked their site but couldn't get the needed information.

if you are processing nigerian passport for your yankee LO, you need NPC birth certificate but the place of birth will be USA even in the nigeria passport, you will just have to produce the american birth certificate for sighting and confirmation that the child was actually born abroad. the place of birth in my babys nigerian passport is USA, cos thats where she was born
Great. Now it seems necessary to get the Nigerian BC for the Yankee child. Power of information.

I said NPC (not clerk sitting on one desk in one LGA office) via its regulation should determine its possibility.

Do u agree that Nigeria should have record of her citizens born outside her shores? If yes, how do we go about?

Your write up above is irrelevant and does not answer the question.

A birth certificate is what it is - certifying the details surroundng the birth of a child (DOB, time of birth, location, etc)

So you have a birth certificate stating a person was born in Fort Bend County, USA.

Then you have one issued at Mafoluku Local Government stating you were born in Mafoluku General Hospital.

How does this make any sense?
I had to look back on every contribution to the issue of BC. I can't find anyone implying the bolded. You actually need to read again to find the mis. I thought I mentioned fact in my irrelevant response.

I'm looking away at this point. Bye

(CALLS THE NAME ON THE NEXT PP, FINGER PRINTS AND STAMPS IN- GOT TO MY COUSIN)
WHO IS SHE
Mum answers my sister's daughter

WHY IS SHE HERE
she is part of the bridal train
(mum tries to hand over consent papers..she collects scans for just a second, returned it...all the while she already stamps her in)

NOW THE SHOCKER

(SHE COMES OUT OF HER CUBICLE AND COMES TO MEET US WHERE WE WERE STANDING, HANDED OVER THE LANDING FORM AND SAID HAND THIS OVER TO ANY CUSTOM OFFICER AND TELL THEM YOU ARE 5, THEY WILL ONLY CHECK YOUR FOODS. (smiling at us this time.)...AND ENJOY YOUR STAY.

We got 9 boxes...one was missing. We looked for it and didn't see it. So we had to go to the next point handed over the card. Directed us to where they will check food...we were scanning all bags....they guy just said...dont worry about the rest.( dem nor get time.. Lol). They checked the foods... Allowed all to pass and we are out. grin

Went to report missing bag. Well they founf it 4 days after and used Fedex to send it. It was intact!

Parents went to MD, while me,my bro and lil cuz to Boston.

We are reuniting on Friday. Wedding is Sat in MD.

7hrs journey...my aunt her friennds all going with a rented Van

Nice. Enjoy your stay
