I paid for my Visa in August, you mean I am not qualified? Where can I read about the May 2021 limitation?. Funiam: You wld need to apply asap b4 Feb 2023. The embassy is only giving priority to visa fees paid before May 1, 2022. If the question pops up on your profile, give a honest answer and wait for the next page... Guess this only for Lagos |

Please where did you get the May 1, 2022 visa fee payment criteria? I can't find it anywhere. My visa expired Feb 2019 and I paid for a new visa fee in August 2022. Tamad101: Yes, you now qualify for interview waiver provided you paid visa fee prior to May 1 2022. Dropbox validity has been extended to 48 months. I was able to get appointments dates for both my parents for 1st week in Dec |

cerezo: If you are going with just this little, I'll advise that you go to any bdc and ask for $20 notes. You may get it for like N340 to $1. I only got to know this recently, smaller denominations don't sell at the same rate as the $100 note. Please also note that when you come back to the country with these smaller notes, you may not be able to sell more that N335 to $1. Also note that the banks reject deposit of smaller notes except the big $100 note. This was my personal experience few months ago. You can thank me later. This is very true. The Nigerian Immigration Service doesn't not take any note other than $100 bill for cash payment for Visa on Arrival. In addition to your advise, one can change the note to 100s while in the US. |

God answered my prayers. I can't recollect how I got linked to her. God saved me from the devil. I am thanking him greatly for providing a wonderful host at no cost. When people are willing to pay they still went through this in the hand of a fellow country man. Too bad. I am using this opportunity to thank my wonderful host for the gesture and his kind heart. I pray America or wherever you may choose to live will bring you Allah's Rahma and peace. And to everyone that supported my family during the missionary journey, Allah will continue to enrich you all and provide you at your time of need. |

Terese69: So in the spirit of giving back ... Gosh I can't stand that line
Accommodation - After my horrible experience living with a family friend during my last missionary journey, I decided to rent a one bedroom apartment via Airbnb. Paid $3,400 for 11 weeks. God blessed me with the most fantastic airbnb host ever. I can't sing her praises enough. She made sure I had everything I needed in the apartment to make me comfortable. She bought a dry mill blender so I could blend my banga and pepper soup spices, bought a bassinet for my baby, books and toys for my toddler daughter and a sweater for my mum when it got cold. She took me to my doctor appointments, to the hospital, passport appointment, shopping, sightseeing and then returned to pick me up afterwards when she could. She took me to pick my husband up from the airport when he arrived and even went to drop him when he was returning. Upon my departure, her car was too small to fit me and my countless bags so she rented a truck just so she could drop us off at the airport. At the airport, she helped with my bags and paid a trolley guy to move my bags to the check in area before leaving. All this she did at no extra cost to me. Even when I offered to buy her fuel for her car, she'd vehemently refuse and tell me I am spending enough already as it is. This is a total stranger o, oyibo woman at that. Someone I didn't know from Adam and had never met before. I was beyond amazed at her hospitality and generosity. She saved me a lot on transportation and made my trip a lot easier. She was simply amazing to my family and I. God bless her immensely! Maybe she is the Aunty Favour many were looking for. I can imagine the joy in your heart for meeting her kind. I had a wonderful experience too with my host (not a paid accommodation). He helped with transportation (I refuse to drive his car) and our families feed together. I can't stop praying for the family and others that made journey splendid. |

okanla: Have read through some information in previous part, and not so clear on some issue about filling out the forms. Which one should come first out of Appointment or DS-160, since am planing to fill the forms my self. The sequence is, DS-160 then book appointment with the Confirmation number from the DS-160. However, to tie down a date for appointment, you can start the DS-160 and use the application number to book the desired date immediately. You can also update/change the application before the date of interview. |

goobyparks: Pls house, Is it possible to bring back a baby to Nigeria and then do d baby's US passport in Nigeria. (A woman did this abt 8yrs ago wen custom stamped just one month stay for her.) Dunno if it's still possible now. In my case I was stamped in for 3months. So I have jst 3/4weeks to process baby's papers. It takes abt 3wks to get BC alone in Virginia nt to talk of passport If you can get the Nigerian Passport , it is enough for the LO. However, you will still need the BC for the Nigerian passport but this will save you from VISA to Naija. You will also need the BC for the US passport in future. |

drI: you actually don't need the SSN for the passport. you only need the BC. you did be given a form to sign staying that you've not been given the SSN. I think the SSN is now compulsory for processing the US passport. I was shown a copy of the new directive to the Post Office. BTW, SSN do not take that long ( 2 to 3 weeks for Houston Texas). |

Seriously, we need to properly and objectively conduct self-evaluation before putting in the application. Seeking online validation won't add to your chances. |

The VO has said it times without number that the content of the letter is what matters not the colour. You get a proxy form if your visa is approved or a letter stating the section of the law for which the visa is denied. NB: Blue and White paper are used for approval and denial interchangeably. |

fadafada1978: You mean when asked I should say my company email instead of my persinal one I filled on my ds 160 ? If you can differentiate your personal email from your official email, then you should be able to answer that correctly. The interview is to verify and provide additional information. So it doesn't matter or necessary to put your official (work) email in your application. Most work email can be verified. |

smokeydrinky: Hi modath. Can you throw more light to what he is saying? I would be grateful I can help with a little light. Some of us can read in-between but you will see response from the surface. Why? Because it is a faceless forum. Humans can not detect bad intentions with 100% assurance and same goes for the VOs. However, lies comes with one or more loose nuts. That is what the VOs look out for not your English or expression. Another observation: Silent readers of this thread seems to get their visa approved than those who bring there circumstance and stories for validation. Did any body else noticed? |

The ideal thing is to research living expenses as it relates the state you intend to visit and draw your budget. Also include miscellaneous/emergency (we call it in case of incasecity) |
