Many A times here on this forum, I've come across comments from people who claim to have spent some time in the east, yet they couldn't make truthful statements rather deceptive comments about this wonderful region...

The merits of the Internet and social media in this time and age can never be over emphasised, we can easily google or search places, find pictures of every city in Nigeria and as well make a good and healthy comparison.

And not relying heavily on the media house to reproduce and manufacture sentiment about a place, time and event as it suits them, like it was done in the past.

It is very condescending when people refer to Anambra state as a barren region...A state that hosts the biggest market in Western Africa, A state that hosts the most populated urban settlement in Nigeria only after lagos( Obosi city)

Japan of Africa(Nnewi) birthed the first indegeneous car manufacturing plant in Nigeria. With so many many other manufacturing companies scattered all over the state.

Then how some uninformed people make such demeaning comments about where they've never been remains disturbing.

Are they really uninformed or they're being deceptive or it has a political undertone??

Pictures of Enugu coal city alone puts the city well above many other cities in the southern part of the country, all in the southwest except lagos.

Same thing with Owerri, Awka and Onitsha.

My question still is how much do you really know about the east

So yesterday being 24th of December, I decided to give myself a wardrobe face lift,lol . After all the last time I did something like that was two years ago. last year, I didn't get the chance to visit the market myself during December period, prices went up up up b4 I knew it the following year ...buhari and dollar effect

Onitsha main market is the biggest market in West Africa, both in the volume of goods;it covers a large area of land, also went into some streets...you need to visit this market so as to have a glimpse of why its termed so.

Traders from nearby Asaba, Enugu and Imo flood this market on daily basis, while our not so faraway neighbours in Edo, kogi, Ondo, Benue, Warri, portharcourt, Akwa/cross, Abuja etc also make their very presence noticeable here.

This 24th Christmas rush hour in onitsha main market is famous for her very low prices of goods, also in large quantities...but this rush hour also comes with its own baggage like overcrowding, stampede, theft(you can even misplace your items yourself).

The market outlook has changed since the last time I visited with lots of elected high storey plazas and ofcourse in population...see pictures below.

N/B whenever there's much crowd, I put my phone inside my pocket and zip it up, I only took pictures where there are no much crowd.
