The US is investing in modern tools of warcraft that include launch systems and guided standoff munitions, not tanks and artillery as Russia wasted time and resources investing in and losing so many in Ukraine.

Therefore, if Russia is not militarily threatened by NATO because of the possibility of nuclear armageddon, it stands to reason then that the only existential threat to Moscow is economic warfare.....which is exactly the mess Putin dragged Russia into with the punishing sanctions.
