ndu_chucks: My Theory:

(1)Odetola reached out to Farouk and offered to bribe him.
(2)Farouk collected the $620,000 bribe
(3)After collecting the bribe, Farouk implemented his portion of the "quo" in the "quid pro quo" by removing names of Odetola's companies from the subsidy report.
(4)Odetola tried to pull a fast one on Farouk by possibly bribing SSS officials into supporting his claim that the whole thing was a sting operation and make Farouk the sole criminal.
(5)Odetola was naive enough to think he can buy anyone including SSS member's who are more loyal to their political interests than Odetola or his money.
(6)The bribed SSS members refused to back Odetola up, and in desperation, Odetola started releasing purportedly doctored audio tapes which are inadmissible in a court of law.

Unfortunately, what we have so far, is nothing but hearsay. A second year law student should be able to successfully defend Farouk and I predict that Farouk will not serve a single day in jail. There is however, stonger evidence against Odetota and if he is not convicted for bribery, he should be convicted for claiming that this was a SSS sting operation. This saga is not good for the SSS as an institution and I predict that SSS will distance itself from Odetola's claims, publicly, soon enough.

Ho I wish GEJ's advisers can see that the President's association with Odetola does not serve GEJ and the country well, and advise that Odetola is removed from GEJ's team of economic advisers. Odetola has lost all credibility he has left. It may be time for Odetola to start planning his exile. As for Farouk, stoning awaits him in Kano. Barawo.

Chinom: Otedola is chasing shadows. I just hope that the FGN and the EFCC will not fall for this crap. This conversation is the private business of both Otedola and Farouk.We are more concerned about those that collected trillions of naira that belongs to us all. Otedola should tell us point blank if he collected close to $300million as subsidy for fuel importation and why he did not import 1 litre of fuel after collecting such huge amount.
Farouk Lawan is a dead man. i don't give a hoot about him. Otedola has a case to answer. Anybody who collected $300m will happily give away $3m as bribe inorder to cover his tracks. Otedola was clearly shedding tears of joy. "i'm crying, my brother " WTF. This is a very embarassing stuff.
OTEDOLA MUST RETURN OUR MONEY HE STOLE.There's nothing smart about this tape. The subsidy report can be empirically verified. CBN has all the records. Otedola should have bribed someone at the CBN to wipe it off. Dealing with this cattle-rearing mallam was a big mistake. Not a very smart move.

I just want to appeal to the moderators to be very strict on this tribalism issue.It should not be tolerated.If you are a moderator, and tribalistic,you should please give up your moderating role.You guys should clean up nairaland.We all face racism when we travel out and when we come back home,we abuse the white man and call him a racist.So why are we doing the same to each other.
