Don't let your emotions cloud your judgement. This thread isn't a pity party. The purpose of the thread is to get info about NNPC and what working there is like. I feel for those that didn't get in. Heck, I have friends that didn't get in but it is not the end of the world. We all have our stories.
I wrote here some time ago that I almost got a remote job that was gonna pay me $30k to $40k per year. That's over 1m every month, way above what NNPC would dream of paying GTs. Plus, I would actually learn a lot and grow too. I was very sad. In fact, it was one of the saddest days ever. All my plans vanished just like that but that experience taught me a lot.

My advice is this:

1. Get IT skill. It's one of the cheapest and easiest skills to learn. You can learn ANY IT skill that will get you a decent job online for free.

2. After getting this skill, apply to jobs abroad too. Honestly, I barely apply for Naija jobs. There are tons of jobs abroad. Now, I have two job offers, one in Naija and the other abroad. I am still deciding which to choose based on a number of things. My friend just got one in Norway.

3. Rejections are part of the process. Accept it. Don't let it weigh you down.

4. Apply for a lot of jobs. Don't always bank on any job. If it comes, fine. If it doesn't, we move.

5. Always try and leave an impression at an interview. Let the interviewers feel you actually have some value to add. When you want to interview with a company, research on its shortcomings, research on its failures and see what you can do to help. Nobody will reject a valuable candidate. When I did the NNPC interview, I knew I had done well. The interviewer practically said, "we need people like you". I knew I had passed but I could never be so sure I would get the job because I thought they would play politics or something.

PS: The IT skill I advised is because IT is the field that can easily get you jobs abroad. And there are jobs in abundance so if you're good, you will get one. IT is growing every day so it can't be saturated.

Godspeed!

Nice said.
Please can you recommend IT skills and maybe where one can learn them.
Thanks.

Like seriously! Let's be reasonable, Gbriels between you and oga Jarus who do you really think has your claimed "African mentality"? Bros na you nor vex! Sorry to say the way most of you respond here you feel you own this space.
His response is what is expected of an exposed man with integrity as well. Before your vituperations, you should have at least checked back at his antecedents and how he has been contributory to this thread in the past. He just told you that although he has a privileged info, but his hands are tied based on a binding agreement. It is that bad that the informant is on this thread. So, except you want him to severe his relationship in a bid to give you info.
Does he owe you anything? is he obliged to give you info?
Live and lets live!

As for UK you need to think about it well. If it is a top school and in STEM I might take the risk and find a work around before the end of my masters. But it is a very tricky situation so the decision is up to you.

Nice response.. The good thing is that the school is a pilot institution which means an international student is allowed to stay for 6 months after grad. Either to get a work( in that case he starts to live there) r continue studies.

Well if it is a UK school, I won't be quick to conclude, even for a top UK school because you have to pack your load immediately you graduate except on extremely rare occasions where you get a job before you graduate or if you are a citizen of UK by birth or something.

But there is still a workaround for UK. I know people that after going for masters in UK saved up from their scholarship funds and used it to port to Australia, one even ported to Canada and they are both doing well. If this is your ultimate plan NNPC should be able to give you the same thing with much comfort because you can do your Nigerian masters while gaining NNPC experience and have enough money to port to good countries. Though you have to hope that Canada doesn't stop their permanent residency plan by the time you decide it is time to leave.

If you are a patient and business minded person NNPC is a great option becuase you can be nuturing your side business with support from your upfront and salary. Something you cannot readily do in these top countries. Lots of them are against owning businesses while on student Visa.

This is insightful...Thanks man

Lol why should this be a tough decision to make. Like do you know what a top 5 US institution is: MIT, Harvard, Stanford, Caltech, UC Berkeley etc. FFS this is a no brainer. I know someone that turned down shell offer some years back and went for masters in one of these schools, he is a big boy in the US now. Heck I might even turn down NNPC for masters in a top 20 US school with full funding especially when it is a STEM course or even Economics.

How about fully funded scholarship to a UK school?

LMAO, you are really unbelievable! It's like you take most of us for a joke on this thread. Everyone knows it is easy to manipulate time on your PC. What u simply did was to adjust your time settings then send your self an email so it will reflect the set date. It is very easy to bypass gmail's date restriction na. For example, I just quickly created a new monika some minutes ago but i backdated the email to 10am this morning. See attached grin grin grin

I think I will just have to comment...
Man you are UNSCRUPULOUSLY METICULOUS. You have already made your point even by your first post. Digging deep just shows it is been done out of hate and not of a heart that likes to research as you earlier claimed. You can't throw away the baby with the bad water. Mosgoon might have his own flaws of self aggrandizement and all that but tell me a man that is perfect. You cannot deny the fact that he has been useful in many ways even more than you. For example, just go through this thread if you can and evaluate his response to people, he has been one of the most courteous person on this thread. Even when someone (one of the haters) tried picking quarrel with him, the guy just maturedly let it slide. Not to mention his tips on some issues and the expensive LOMS he gave for free. So, will you now rub this off and just cruxify him for his self ostentation(which could be his foible of which we all have our own foibles that we have to work on) ?
Live and let live.... Nobody holy pass!
Good morning everyone..... Wishing us a promising and rewarding week ahead.

Anybody from panel 3...statistics? Those panelists are really nice, a woman (chief) and 3 men. They were just telling me to relax that they still have more questions to ask.

Indeed panel 3 was really an interesting panel. Which state are you from?

Nerobliss:
I just stumbled unto this thread for tier visa. I have read from page 1-20 so far. Thus i understood one can only be sponsored by parents or self and no other relatives.
My dad is late and my mum relocated to the states where she got married and changed her name. My step father is willing to sponsor my masters but since we are not same name, I can't use it and my mom has changed surname as well.
Somehow the money can't be deposited in my account. Should I go ahead and fill my step father name or my mother who has changed her name?

Looking forward to reading your inputs. Thanks

I think the only option still remain depositing the funds in your account. Just see how you can remove the embargo preventing that. Except it's that of 'trust'.

For the proof of fund, should the money be in ones account 28 days prior to visa application or prior to the interview?
In addition, after that, can the money be altered or it has to be there till one go to the UK?
