https://www.lakewaycosmeticdentistry.com/images/content/posts/shutterstock_71786263.jpg Sure it whitens, brightens and makes your mouth smell nice but there are more uses for toothpaste than you'd believe possible. We've compiled tubes and tubes worth of ideas to amaze and amuse you. Perhaps you'll even find many of them useful. But a few caveats first: We strongly recommend you use one of the more inexpensive toothpastes -- not gels, tartar controllers or whiteners unless otherwise specified. Look for a mild abrasive, stain fighter. Avoid toothpastes containing "triclosan." Naturally, you'll find the best prices on toothpastes with coupons from major drug stores. Without further ado, here are 35 unconventional uses for toothpaste: IN YOUR CLEANING KIT 1. Baby Bottles Remove that sour-milk-smell baby bottles get by scrubbing with a water-and-toothpaste mixture. Rinse very thoroughly with water or toss the bottles into the dishwasher. 2. Carpet Stains Squeeze toothpaste directly onto the carpet stain and scrub it with a toothbrush. Then rinse and repeat the process until the stain disappears. Not much different than brushing your teeth, is it? For truly stubborn stains, like vomit from aging cats, you might need to go with a professional carpet-cleaning product, like those available with Pet Street Mall coupon codes. 3. Cell Phone Screens Unprotected mobile-phone screens become scratched to heck over time. Lightly rub the screen with a touch of toothpaste and your finger. Rinse with a damp cloth and dry. This also works on watch crystals, for those of us Luddites who still wear watches. 4. Clothing Stains If toothpaste works on your carpets, it should work equally well on cloth. Apply the toothpaste directly to the stained area with a bit of water and rub hard before popping in the washer. This may not work on all fabrics or stains but it's quite effective on ink and shirt-collar stains. You may have to repeat this process if the stain is old. Of course, you don't want to use whitening toothpastes on colored fabrics. Instead, use a basic toothpaste without bleaching agents for this purpose. 5. Crayon on Painted Walls Children, crayons and walls are natural attractants. No need to panic. Just gently rub a damp cloth and some toothpaste on your child's masterpiece, then inse with a wet cloth and dry. Make sure you run a test on a small area of the wall before applying to a large area, just in case the paint can't handle even a mild abrasive. For high-gloss walls where toothpaste might remove some of the shine, purchase the exceptionally handy Goo Gone. As with toothpaste, make sure you try a test run first. 6. Leather Put a dab on leather scuffs, rub in with a soft cloth, and rinse with a damp cloth. Works well on shoes, purses, coats or anything else made of leather. 7. Linoleum Scuffs Scrub scuff marks with toothpaste and a dry cloth until no residue remains. 8. Piano Keys Tidy up those ivories before you tickle them. Rub each key gently with a damp, cotton swab and a touch of paste. Wipe dry and buff with a clean cloth. It takes time, but you'll be stunned by how nice your keyboard looks at the end of the project. 9. Patio Furniture Apply some elbow grease, a brush and a mixture of toothpaste and water. Use a teeth-whitening paste on white furniture for the perfect shine. 10. Silver and Brass Use a soft toothbrush to scrub lightly with just a dab of paste. Rinse thoroughly and polish with a dry, soft cloth. If toothpaste remains in any cracks, clean the toothbrush thoroughly and brush under water to dislodge the white paste. Dry again and polish. For heavy-duty grunge, apply paste and let it soak overnight. Whatever you do, however, don't apply toothpaste to pearls as the grit will remove the shiny finish. 11. Iron Grunge Apply a little toothpaste and rub into the iron's plate, then remove the residue with a dry and clean cloth. 12. Tennis Shoes Use a brush to rub toothpaste into the scuffed soles of athletic shoes. Wipe with a damp cloth when your done and admire. IN YOUR BATHROOM 13. Bathroom Sinks Next time you drop a glop of toothpaste into the sink, don't rinse it down, scrub it around. The natural abrasive works like other cleansers and deodorizes the drain at the same time. 14. Blemish Cream Anyway who's watched "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" knows toothpaste is a great emergency zit cure. It helps reduce the redness and draws out puss. Don't pop the pimple before application, however. (Please excuse the indelicacy.) Apply a pinch of menthol toothpaste and leave it on for several minutes, then wash off before you head to the church. Some recommend leaving the toothpaste on overnight but this can leave you with dry and cracked skin. No matter how long you've left on the pasty poultice, apply a good lotion immediately afterwards to replace moisture. If you find your facial skin reacts badly to the toothpaste, next time crush an aspirin, mix it with water or witch hazel, and apply it to your skin. Aspirin works because it contains salicylic acid to clear up the blemish. For even more sensitive skin, tea tree oil mixed with witch hazel also reduces blemishes. 15. Bruises This remedy is a godsend for chronic klutzes, like me. Before heading off to bed, apply a mixture of toothpaste and skin lotion to the bruise and wrap with an ace bandage or a band-aid to keep the sheets clean. Wash the paste off in the morning and reapply for two or three nights. Bruises that normally take a week or two to fade disappear much faster. 16. Bug Bites For mosquito, ant and other small bug bites, apply toothpaste to sooth itching and cool the skin. You can apply paste to bee stings, as well, but seek medical assistance if you experience shortness of breath or other serious symptoms. 17. Burns I've been using my grandmother's tip for years on mild burns and it's only recently come into popular favor. Next time you burn yourself on the stove or a hot pan, plunge the affected area under cold water to rapidly bring down the skin temperature. (Not butter! This is a myth.) After the acute phase is over, smear non-gel toothpaste thickly over the burn until the skin cools permanently and the sting is gone. Finally, apply a healing agent, such as aloe vera. If you receive a serious second-degree or third-degree burn, wrap the area in cold, wet, smooth towels or a sheet. Call 911 or have someone drive you straight to the hospital. 18. Chrome Do those water spots on your bathroom faucets bug you while brushing your teeth? Apply a dab of paste, rub it in and rinse. Now you can admire your reflection while making those strange brushing faces. 19. Diamonds After finishing with your teeth, take your toothbrush and run it over your diamond ring to make it sparkle. Clean off any residue with a damp cloth. 20. Hair Gel Toothpaste contains the same water-soluble polymers found in many hair gels. In a pinch, it can serve the same purpose. Toothpaste also is a great stick-um for baby barrettes. 21. Hand Deodorizer Remove the stench of onions, fish, garlic and other odoriferous foods from your skin by scrubbing briefly with toothpaste. Apply lotion after to moisten hands. 22. Mirror Defogger Gentlemen: Next time you're brushing your teeth in the shower, smear a bit of toothpaste on the mirror before shaving and wipe it dry. It'll keep the mirror from fogging so you can see your face clearly. No nicks, no cuts and a face like John Hamm: Well, maybe. 23. Nails We're talking the nails on your fingers and toes; not the ones you pound into walls. Next time you're out of enamel, give your nails a natural shine with a touch of toothpaste and a soft brush. It only takes a mild buffing to bring out the brilliance, so don't go overboard. A whitening toothpaste with peroxide also will remove the orange or yellow tinge created by extensive use of nail polish. Again, make sure you buff lightly. Finally, the grit in toothpaste helps remove grunge in the cracks around your nails after cleaning the fireplace or working in the garden. Use a nail brush and scrub around the edges. Avoid polishing too vigorously on the nail itself or you'll remove the natural sheen. 24. Refrigerator Seals Toothbrushes are the perfect size for cleaning refrigerator seals and toothpaste is perfect for whitening those seals. In other words, altogether a perfect combo. 25. Skin Rashes For closed-skin rashes, avoid itching, apply toothpaste and allow it to cool down the skin. Please note toothpaste should not be applied to skin rashes that have open sores. 26. Shower Doors Dampen a sponge and smear it with a bit of whitening toothpaste. Clean the shower doors with a circular swipe and rinse thoroughly and you'll be able to see through your doors once again. IN YOUR LIVING ROOM 27. Coffee Table Water Rings This is an oldie but goody: Simply rub some toothpaste into the irritating ring with a soft cloth and wipe dry with a clean, damp cloth. Apply a finishing shine with a touch of furniture polish or oil (olive oil works, too). Then break out the coasters and make sure they get used. 28. DVDs and CDs Remove shallow scratches and smudges by applying a thin coating of toothpaste to the disc and rubbing gently. Rinse thoroughly and buff with a soft, cotton cloth. The mild abrasive evens out the playing surface but too much grit will make things worse, so make sure you're gentle. (I'm told smooth peanut butter also works well but haven't had a scratch on which to test this theory.) Toothpaste works especially well on the marks made by multi-disk changers that use "grabbers" and dig gouges into the disks. 29. Nail Holes Toothpaste has long been known as the poor-man's caulking agent for unsightly nail holes. If you don't have matching paint, you can tint the paste with food coloring or eye shadow to match the wall. It's even easier if the walls are white. This method also works well in holes left by hanging-plant or speaker hooks, particularly on textured ceilings. MISCELLANEOUS 30. Auto Scratches Scratch removers are expensive but toothpaste can hide minor damage for cents. Apply a dab of toothpaste to a damp sponge and rub in a circle, then wipe with a soft cloth. Don't rub too hard or you'll damage the paint job. 31. Goggles You'll never need to buy expensive goggle-defogger gels again. Rub a small spot of toothpaste into each lens of your google and rinse thoroughly. Don't rub too hard, however, or the abrasive properties of toothpaste could scratch the lens. 32. Headlights The dings and scratches sustained by headlight glass diffuses the light and makes it harder to see. Eliminate this haze by thoroughly cleaning the headlight, then rubbing in a glob of toothpaste. Follow up with a good buffing to even out the glass, either by hand or with the buffer on an electric drill. 34. Skunk-Spray Deodorizer Next time your dog gets in a battle with a skunk, wet him down, rub toothpaste into his fur, leave the mixture on for several minutes and rinse thoroughly. I'm not saying this process will be easy, but fluoride does soak up a majority of the stench. 35. Teeth Okay, so I lied in the headline about not mentioning your teeth. There's a reason they call it "tooth" paste. If you have moral objections to standard toothpaste formulas, many naturalists prefer the Tom's of Maine brand. Others highly recommend combining essential oil of mint and clove with baking soda and peroxide. I say, "To each his own." |
senoritadupsie: Four interviewers, two female and two male. If you don't want to spend the whole day there then go early but they might spennd more time questioning you though,it got to my turn around that past 4 and I don't think we were up to 40. They talked abt my course of study and why I wanted to be a reporter, why I want to leave my present job, and I was asked to type that was when the Alhaja noticed my 3 long finger nails....abeg, cut your nails o.Seems i saw u there yesterday, u were among the last 5 right? |
avuekwe: They started by asking me my state of origin. The Hausa man then began to praise Fashola for giving an Abia state Indigene like me the opportunity to be here. He went ahead condemning Abia state, that they weren't like Lagos state. And for that I should be very grateful to them cos I shouldn't have been there in the first place. I no fit shout, I just shook my head.Same as well, they asked of my state of Origin, i told dem Anambra; the fair Hausa lady then asked what brot me to Lagos. I smiled and told her that i was actually born and brought up in Kano, the whole thing took a different direction. Alas, it was more like a discussion for me; the hausa guy was cool, he even collected my number just in case i change my mind about this very job. Hopefully, if everything turns out well i'll definitely leave my current job. *Fingers Crossed* |
I was the 2nd to the last person, it was more like a discussion session. I wasn't even asked anytin abt what Court reporting is nor even the duties. Though they'll test ur typing skills, you don't have to be a wizard; once you can make use of your two hands while typing, u're good. This is my 'Two Cents' for now, my fone is blinking low battery. |
https://images.tangomag.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/630x314/image_blog/5030743966_caba6d209d_z_0.jpg Falling in love with nice girls is boring as hell. Look, there has to be something good about being with 'nice girls' when it comes to love/romance/sex (and all the things that make life worth living), but don't ask me what it is. I guess, in a way, I imagine that prim and proper ladies must offer up some kind of steady calm in your life if you end up with one. And, chances are, they can soothe your frantic soul with their mellow ways, maybe iron-out your nerves with a soft sparrow-y peck on your cheek at the end of a sh*tty day at the office. Hell, handing your heart over to a good, kind woman is probably the same as falling in love with an aromatherapy candle. It's safe. It's dependable. You know exactly what you're getting before you even get the damn thing home, right? Night-after-night-after-night, it gives off a tiny glow and infuses your whole pad with cake smell. And then, sigh, you fall asleep next to it dreaming comfortable dreams where no one gets mad or slapped or cursed out. Or laid. But effffff that. I love me some crazy women! And by crazy, I don't mean crazy crazy. I'm not talking about women who walk around scratching their skin off and chattering to themselves in a mist of crack smoke or anything like that. Not at all. What I'm talking about are girls whose 'craziness' is defined by their absolute mystery. Those sassy street-smart lasses who are highly suspicious that you'll turn out to be the same douchebag who does, in fact, live within you. Those gals with a slight attitude problem all swirled into a shot of hot-blooded swagger. Jesus, I get a little turned on just riffing about it here with you. Ahem. AHEM! I need a glass of water. Anyway, I once loved a girl like that. Oh my God, she was something else, just this super beautiful, incredibly intelligent, talented woman made it her life's purpose to refuse my bullsh*t at every turn. In fact, she took things to a new level, eventually zeroing in on so many things about me she wanted to change that eventually she began to smack down the parts of me that weren't bullsh*t at all! But look buddy, that's the risk you take when you want to have the chance to make babies with a lightning bolt. You might get zapped sometimes. Hell, she might even kick you to the curb sometimes. Then you have to see what you're made of. I'm still here, I know that much. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against cul-de-sac girls. I have nothing against girls who have been raised at the end of very suburban lanes and are polite and successful and sweet. Nothing at all. Yet, for unexplainable reasons, I'm not in the least bit turned on by them either. When my heart's involved, I seem to hone in on whether or not the object of my desire actually scares me a little. Not serial killer stuff, mind you, but someone who posesses just enough overdrive to steer my heart up a wall with nervous energy. I find it stimulating. But at the same time, a few missteps here and there and you'll find the whole thing draining as well. Maybe I'm a masochist. But maybe I'm not. Because crazy women are the greatest women. They've risen up from dire circumstances at some point in their life by kicking vulnerability in the balls so many times that they end up walking around wearing invisible suits of armor. I want to melt that armor. I know that I can melt that armor. Well, I haven't yet, but I will someday, I just know it. And anyway, what kind of love affairs do you think people remember long after the main players are dead? The safe tales when not much happened? Hardly. Listen, I make no excuses for any kind of serious pain or suffering or abuse in a relationship. I sincerely don't. Been there/guilty as charged/it sucks/trust me. But if you happen to fall for the pretty girl who you catch smiling a little as she turns away from you after you call her nuts (because she knows you're right), guard that woman with your whole heart and soul. Believe me, if you blow it, you may never ever find another beautiful psycho like her in this world. But then again, after what you've been through, dude, you may not ever want to either. "Everyone believes the world's greatest lie..." says the mysterious old man. "What is the world's greatest lie?" the little boy asks. The old man replies, "It's this: that at a certain point in our lives, we lose control of what's happening to us, and our lives become controlled by fate. That's the world's greatest lie." - The Alchemist. What did you want to be when you grew up? If you think back to when you were a child maybe you had dreams of being an astronaut or a dancer. Although your dreams may have changed over time, as children we're encouraged to dream and to dream big. Then we grow up, get to a certain age and instead people start telling us we need to be realistic. Many people give up on their dreams It's a sad reality that the world is full of people who have stopped listening to themselves, and listen only to other people to learn what they should do with their life. This is often why people stop dreaming and stop believing that they can get what they truly want in life. Many people live their lives on auto-pilot, letting life happen to them. The power of belief changes everything It comes down to a big thing called belief. The difference between average and elite performers is rarely skill. It's almost always mindset. We all have a set of core beliefs that we have about ourselves and what we can accomplish. Often these beliefs need to be changed. Take small steps towards your dream Small steps are what it takes to get you where you want to go. If you start progressing towards your dream you will slowly change your mindset around what is possible. You will start to believe you can get what you want in life. What we do today impacts how our life will be days, months and years from now. You don't have to build an entire wall today, you just have to lay one perfect brick. Don't let the fear of failure stop you https://www.careeraddict.com/en/img/candidate-666233-2014-08-09-23-54-13.jpeg?unscoped Too many people don't attempt to reach their dreams because they are afraid of the possibility of failure. However, many people recover from failures, but regret is something that never goes away. Don't die with your dreams still inside of you. The challenge Take two pieces of paper and a pen. Ask yourself two questions: what kind of person do I want to be and what do I want to achieve in my life? Write down the answers. Do your answers match your life, in this moment? If not, take small steps today to make sure you are heading in the right direction. It begins with one step. Everyone has greatness within them The real tragedy is that most people die without having tapped into their greatness. You have something to offer this world that no one else can or will ever be able to offer. Your experiences have made you the person you are, there's no one like you. If you don't choose to live a life of purpose it's not just going to be you that misses out, all the people that you could have impacted will also miss out. |

Emmanuel Onwubiko — Aug 13, 2014 | 1 Comment Last week, my NGO, the Human Rights Writers Association Of Nigeria raised the alarm that there may exist a well entrenched racket within the management of the National Youth Service Corps that may have perfected a mechanism for fleecing the country of huge resources annually through manipulation of the list of participants of the scheme. We were approached by several persons and also got considerable volume of calls from concerned individuals who also fingered officials of the Federal Budget Office and the relevant committees with oversight powers over the NYSC in the National Assembly in a huge swindle which may have gone on since 2010 costing Nigeria nearly N90 billion. My shock is that since this sinister and fraudulent scheme may have existed over the years, the relevant law enforcement agencies have paid deaf ears to the groundswell of allegations that the NYSC is a cesspool of corruption and the principal actors may have perfected strategy for concealing this high profile heist. From the allegations at our disposal, there is every indication that several billions of Naira is being fleeced yearly through the NYSC scheme. For the past three years, the scheme claims in its yearly budget to mobilise 250,000 corps members whereas the actual mobilised figures are far short of these figures. A cursory look shows that budgetary allocations and release of corps members allowance is 98% for corps members’ monthly allowances. In view of the allegations the question is what happens to the several billions of Naira of released corpers allowance from the federal government? For instance, for 2012 and 2013, the total difference of released monthly corpers allowance which NYSC ought to return to the federal coffers is reportedly N13,583,808 billion. And for 2014 Batch ‘A’, while NYSC received money for about 100,000 corps members which it claimed it was mobilising, only 51,000 youth corpers were allegedly mobilised whereas the allowance of 49,000 unmobilised youth corpers amounting to slightly above N10.3 billion Naira may be unaccounted for if action is not taken by the Finance ministry to recoup the difference. From information, the above stated figures of expenditures are aside other allowances like N1,500 transport allowance to camp and N1,500 transport back home at the end of the service year as well as N1,000 local transport allowance which everyone of the supposed 250,000 is said to have been collected by NYSC management. Another angle to this alleged massive looting of the nation’s treasury is that while government appropriates/releases N500 for feeding each corps member per day for 21 days in camp, only N300 is actually said to be released to states NYSC secretariats for this. We hereby call on the relevant bodies to commence investigation to ascertain if these damaging allegations are anything to go by so as to save he nation the much needed resources at these trying periods. We learnt from reliable sources also, that yearly, billions of Naira are released for clothing kits (uniforms) for the supposed 250,000 corps members. How come that for over four years the figure of 250,000 corpers has been constant. Nigerians need to also ask why has government not been paying youth corps members monthly allowance direct to them just like they do with workers. Are they saying there are no ghost corpers? There is need to stop this massive looting now. The Billions of Naira being looted into private pockets can as well be used to provide education and jobs for the youths whose name is being used to loot. Show of hands, how many people remember when being hired was all about putting your best foot forward during a face-to-face interview and hoping they liked you. Or when an interview was the first opportunity you had to make a good impression? These days, when the hiring manager says, “tell me about yourself” she probably already knows more about you than you think. Social media and the employer Today many organisations ’check out an applicants social media profiles before they even extend the first interview offer. Reading over a candidate’s Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook feed gives the human resources department insight into the behavior of potential employees to see if they are a good initial fit. What you post on your social media accounts can tell them everything from what your political views are to whether you keep your cool over life’s little frustrations. For instance, if you boast about getting mouthy with a barista who messed up your coffee order, you are probably not a good match for that customer service job you have your eye on. It may seem unfair that companies sometimes pass over otherwise qualified candidates because of the content of their Vine account, but many managers are glad for the chance to spot potential problem employees before they’re brought on board. https://www.punchng.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/social-media-icons.jpg Employment Lawyer Lisa Geurin says the practice is perfectly legal, however it does have it’s limitations. For instance, “an employer who looks at an applicant’s Facebook page or other social media posts could well learn information that it isn’t entitled to have – or to consider during the hiring process,” explains. For example, your posts or page might reveal your ethnicity, disclose that you are pregnant, or espouse your political or religious views. This type of information is off limits in the hiring process, and an employer who discovers it online and uses it as a basis for hiring decisions could face a discrimination lawsuit.” Applicant dos and don’ts It is possible to use and maintain social media accounts during your job search as long as you keep a few things in mind. Do not give a potential employer your passwords Some companies may ask you to provide passwords to your social networking accounts during the application process but you are under no obligation to comply. It is a needless invasion of your privacy and, in fact, dozens of states are in the process of legislating bans against the practice . Do not lie about having social media accounts This one is kind of a no-brainer but important to remember. Even if your accounts are not under the name on your job application, there is still a chance your profiles will be discovered. Hiring managers do not simply Google your given name, they will check to see what services are associated with your email address or even track their way back through peers or colleagues to see if they can find you. It is easier than you think to pair pseudonyms with real people on the internet. Do not assume a protected account is a safe account Social networks are well-known for changing user privacy settings with little warning or altering their Terms of Use in ways that expose content you think is under wraps. At the very least, check the settings on all your accounts regularly to make sure they are exactly the way you want them. Do clean and sanitize Prior to starting your job search, give your accounts a good scrubbing to remove photos and content that might make an employer look askance. If you must show off photo albums of your wild trip to Cancun or share your thoughts on controversial cultural issues, set up a special group of recipients or over email or smartphone messaging. Do have a social presence of some sort Ironically, some employers consider no social media presence at all as off putting as accounts filled with questionable content. More than 74 per cent of adults who are online use social media to some degree so unless you are applying for a job from a yurt in Outer Mongolia, employers expect to see at least some sort of social media footprint from applicants. If they cannot find anything about you, they may wonder what you’re hiding. A Facebook or Twitter page with a few innocuous comments about sports or a handful of pictures of kittens should suffice if you’re the anti-social media type. Congrts to everyone dt wrote the Test yestaday, I wish you all the best! *Top Secret: There's always two sets of Cut-off mark, one for Cross Riverians(to promote Corporate Social Responsibility) and the second for all other candidates. Hello guys, here is my Laptop: HP Compaq Presario V6000, i have not been able to use it for some time now because the screen had to be replaced due to some water incident. i would like to know how much it will cost to get the exact screen for this laptop, please i'll welcome any trusted contact(s) or referral. I'm in Lagos. Thanks.
|
ThaSlimKidd: Yeah very true. But if it's random, then it is not fair. Bearing in mind so many people made the requirements cut off and still didn't get invited. Least they can do is make it an even playing ground allowing everyone qualified to write.U have a point. But I'm sure you wouldn't want the same stampede dt occurred at d Immigration Aptitude Test to repeat itself. Hence, dts why they'll for instance take 300 each from the three Centres(I.e 900) out of 2000 or more applicants, dts why it's called shortlisting. It's nt fair duh, but dts how these things work sometimes. |
ThaSlimKidd: Exactly my point. But what can we do? But wish the privileged few/many all the freaking bestCould be possible that the applicants in lagos were too many, and they had to pick a certain amount say 300. Bearing in mind that same thing would be done to Calabar & Ph candidates; and at the end of the recruitment process the successful ones might be 20 or less. |
chuka88: .Congrts, U're really progressing. Keep it up!!! ![]()

The National Youth Service Corps has enlisted the services of Smiles Consulting, a human resource firm, to empower youth corps members on job awareness and creation. A statement on Tuesday stated that the purpose of the initiative was to reduce unemployment by increasing the chances of corps members in securing jobs after the mandatory one-year national service. It explained that the training would commence during the camping of the corps members and after, adding that the training would be held in all states’ orientation camps and that of the Federal Capital Territory. The statement read in part, “With the move, the NYSC will be working with the human resource consultancy firm on in-camp sensitisation and post camp training of youth corps members on its job awareness and creation initiative. To ensure that no one is left out, JAC activities will be nationwide, that is, across all states’ orientation camps and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.” According to the Director, Smiles Consulting, Harry Nnoli, the programme is in line with the vision of the Director-General, NYSC, Brig.-Gen. Johnson Olawumi, to increase the impact of the scheme and extend its value to the beneficiaries. The partnership with the NYSC, he said, was at no financial cost but was the firm’s corporate social responsibility to boost capacity building in the country. https://www.punchng.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/Johnson-Olawumi-360x344.jpg Nnoli noted that the scheme would educate the corps members on how they could secure jobs after the service year and also prepare them for entrepreneurship in order to be self-employed if it became difficult for them to get jobs. He said his firm’s appointment was an expression of the confidence the NYSC reposed in it coupled with its accomplishments from years of working together with the organisation to build Nigerian youths who passed through the national youth service scheme. Nnoli was quoted as saying, “This is a result of many years of collaboration with the NYSC Directorate on building capacity for the youth and tackling issues of graduate unemployment, underemployment and employability.” According to the statement, the NYSC has also endorsed the book: ‘You’re Hired’, an employment manual authored by Nnoli. “The NYSC directorate has endorsed the book for young graduates and professionals on how to secure and create jobs,” he said. cc150615: Yea the invite just said writing materials they didn't say whether calculators or noThe guys that wrote the TEST for the second stage in Lagos were lucky cuz they used Calculator; but i'm not assuring you the same favour would be repeated. sigba: As i wasnt invited can i gate crash the test??Their invitation rules are strict, once your details could not be found on their list you wont be allowed to sit for the Aptitude Test. But hey, I'm not trying to dampen your spirit, you can give it a try....After all, a trial can only convince you! |
Ferdybaba: Hi Coolbibz...its very possible they send invites to non engineering graduate cos I remember seeing some geologists and physicists who wrote the test and passed as well. The Engineering questions were basically Mechanical and Elect/Elect and a little bit of industrial engineering.Geologists, Physicists and other disciplines not stated in the requirements will be screened out when compiling the results for the next stage. I was surprised to even see Analytical or Industrial Chemistry there; but that's a good improvement. I wish you guys the best of LUCK. |
