Could remember meeting an aspiring house of rep canditate back in 2012 name withheld and few great minds who don't visit anymore reason best known to them...love this site tho..

So God would send someone to hell to suffer and burn for all eternity just because he did not believe in him,If God exists and he's rational then he should welcome rational people into heaven. And if God is both rational and omnipotent then he should welcome everyone into heaven, since he can effortlessly prevent or repair any damage or injury that pedophiles,murderers, gays,rapist,nigerian politicians,his loyal opposition like me,hardmirror,cloudgoddess, and others, or anyone else would want to be there.

But if God exists and is not rational then there's no way of knowing what he'll do, so there's no point speculating about it, then that God does not deserve to be called a God - he would be a dictator.some one like idi-amin.. and sends the later who do his bidding to heaven,where honey and cheese are used as a lubricant huh?

What kind of all loving, all caring God subjects his 'people' to psychological and emotional torture by giving them a 'choice' between "Do as i say or Burn for all eternity", when the aforementioned 'people' did not choose to be put in this position to begin with? Why would they be forced to make such a choice? Who would do that to someone he supposedly love and care for?

Been busy for a while.. but thanks to cloudgoddess,hard mirror and lot who keep sharing would have bn missing lots of luaghs..

Op you know am just tired and confused why Christians think their religion some kind of precious gem outta thier damn damnation or whatever they believe on...christains are highly sceptical and critical in thier cases, place their religion in a special niche that stands above question and criticism. They often bend over backwards to defend their beliefs and explain away all inconsistencies, while they cherry pick the parts of their religion they, themselves gree with.isn't that a kind of cheat to humanity.. and they keep out the lies.. just to win more souls..

It's like they have this fully equipped toolbox of critical faith and divinity, that they use fluently and skillfully in every relinquishn matters. But they refuse to use these tools on their thinking.which they can't hold their believe structure to the same standards of evidence that they apply elsewhere.

Faith is like a black hole of irrationality, that bends reason around itself. It's like there's an area of their brain where critical thinking is completely suspended. The logic of the believer becomes warped and strange when closing in on the subject of divinity.

And again to that shy believer who's bidding farewell to nairaland..unique04 ....don't be sacred to preach against such scrutiny your religion find itself this days..if your faith doesn't work anymore.. just think.. guess your God shouldn't damn you for such act.

One of the things that is wrong with religion is that it teaches to be satisfied with answers which are not really answers at all

I find the idea of salvation rather funny. wouldnt it be easier to assume that our soul mixes up with the universe after death, but that does not answer why we feel conscious like we've always existed. Since I can imagine what oblivion feels like.why is it so hard for religious folks just doubt everything for a month ,and Find thier light.

I really do doubt as much of humanity who believe in something they cannot see. It's more likely that a lot of them simply say they do believe because thhinking is a skill. The more people learn how to think, the less need there will be for religion.

It's likely never going away entirely, though.
Those religious folks who believe in that super -daddy are not necessarily ignorant, they just accept something as true based on faith alone. And, in recent years,they been getting pretty defensive and aggressive why? undecided

.because their beliefs are no longer the main beliefs for society, and they are afraid because they think they will be treated as poorly as they treated non-believers or people of different faiths in the past. It's not logical to ask someone to disprove a claim that has not even yet been proven. The person making the claim needs to provide evidence for his own claim. In the absense of said evidence anyone is perfectly justified in rejecting, or refusing to accept his claim.

If I told you I was a real Cloud Goddess, I'd have to prove it to you if I wanted you to believe me. Perhaps with selfies of myself in the clouds, chilling in my kingdom. It'd be ridiculous for me to say to you "Prove that I'm NOT a real cloud goddess!" This kind of request is so logically backwards that the only group of people other than theists who I can recall making it, are children in grade school.

Secondly, evolution involves tiny genetic changes that happen over millions of years which gradually alter the morphology and behavior of organisms, causing branching lineages of species to emerge. No monkey can ever birth a human or vise versa because monkeys split from our evolutionary lineage over 5 million years ago. We are not the same species.

Please don't take this as merely a petty insult because it's not. But this is more proof that many theists are scientifically illiterate, which leads to their acceptance of unproven superstitions.
