I think of their followers, as they tend to have many of them, and educate them all for amusement. They never admit they learn but the education forever lingers in their minds and its the only way to stem the descent into lunacy. I confess I am not as magnanimous as you I will get there eventually but for now, I'm sipping delicious maga tears |

As we are speculating about the breakdown of the Republican party, also be prepared for a civil war in the democratic party between the far left and the moderates the AOC vs the Pelosi. If you see the tone on this thread you will already see that brewing. There is no common enemy in Trump to fight now so they will fight themselves. Socialists vs Moderates.

budaatum: Spanberger’s view was echoed by Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) on “Meet the Press”: “I don’t think the American people want to sign up for the Green New Deal. … I don’t think they’re interested in Medicare-for-all or higher taxes that would slow down the economy.” But this diagnosis is at odds with the numbers. A near-majority of voters in swing districts supported the Green New Deal. Fifty-three percent of Americans support Medicare-for-all (and 70 percent support a public option). In exit polls, 57 percent of voters expressed support for Black Lives Matter. In Florida, while moderate Democrats up and down the ticket fell flat, voters passed the $15 minimum wage that the left has been pushing for years. As Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) observed, every swing-district House Democrat who co-sponsored Medicare-for-all kept their seat. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/11/08/democratic-leaders-play-ridiculous-blame-game-with-progressives/ yet they keep on regurgitating Republican corporate framed talking points of far left socialism instead of using simple polls to guide their opinions on what the public wants, even polls on fox news confirmed as much to my surprise! Yet democrats want to field so called centrist neo-republican candidates and expect to win and when they lose they blame it on their liberal wing making them unmarketable! The irony of it all is frustrating but that is what happens when you live in an echo chamber! Democrats if they cared the least to educate even the rural voters would find out that they have the strongest policies that will positively affect rural Americans but they are too lazy to do that and would rather engage republicans in a tug of war to appeal to sentiments instead of logic and reason! A tug of war they most often than not lose |

SenecaTheYonger: Your replies aren’t word salad? Lmfao... if only you knew. Also what you’ve just said is wrong. Every president knows about this, every one of them. Why would knowing it means it must be exploited? Most of them are honorable men and wouldn’t want America to become a banana republic. The fact that something hasn’t been used doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. What of your own interpretation of that part of the constitution then? Where is it? SenecaTheYonger: Why should you? That's the reason I brought the video here. I was looking for a good counter but you were quick to see it as an attack. Error in interpretation is still nothing. You've still said nothing. You can at the very least pick one point that was interpreted wrongly and correct it. in the absence of precedence, "error in interpretation" is everything! My replies aren't a word salad meant to obfuscate, they are literarily my actual replies! Unless you want to tell me this man was the first to gain this insight since the founding fathers drafted the constitution and classic iconoclasts like J.F. Kennedy and Abe Lincoln weren't smart enough to exploit this wrong interpretation |

Ibime: Harris herself is a moderate so any promises she makes to the hard-left will not be taken too seriously. All she needs to do is temper her language and promise the centrists something also. Obama was good at that.
I wouldn't care much personally if both candidates are centrist and wouldn't even vote cos both satisfy what I need from Government which is stability. That's you guys internal matter, but if you pitch a hard-left candidate against a GOP moderate, you will definitely lose. good thing you're only analysing Kamala's prospects and saying nothing about tucker Carlson's and therein is your dilemma, against a Carlson who do you think kamala would need more? Liberals or undecideds? because a fascist or trump opponent to unite voters across the aisle isn't an every election occurrence |
Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: Democrats Take Control Of Congress by BraniacX(m): 10:20pm On Nov 08, 2020 |
SenecaTheYonger: Oh, then you must not have watched the video, because nothing about that is "stretching imagination too far", it's pretty simple and straightforward. to you it is and of course I understand why hence why I described it as "grasping at straws" it is a case of confirmation bias you're drowning in the ocean, you see a killer whale sunbathing in the distance and you insist it must be a schooner and refuse to accept any other argument |
Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: Democrats Take Control Of Congress by BraniacX(m): 10:12pm On Nov 08, 2020 |
Ibime: They most likely will based on the GOP current base, which is why staying centrist is more profitable.
Besides next election will be halfway through a potential Biden/Harris 8 year term. A party cannot pivot halfway through their own leadership. That's tantamount to usurping yourselves ie creating the argument that Biden/Harris are not doing avoid job which is cutting off your nose on the National stage. A party divided cannot win the Nation. okay pit a kamala Harris against a tucker Carlson, who should the democratic candidate appeal to? Liberals or undecideds? |
Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: Democrats Take Control Of Congress by BraniacX(m): 10:05pm On Nov 08, 2020 |
Ibime: If you have a fascist opponent like Trump, you don't need to worry much about your liberal base cos they will show up. If the GOP present a moderate candidate next time, then you can worry about your base. Right now, the GOP is so extreme that the winning formula for Dems is to claim the centre, not mirror the GOP, simple.
150 million people voted this election. How many are registered party members for Dems and GOP. Subtract that from 150m, that should tell you roughly the size of the undecuded pie. It's not a number to be sniffed at. the next Republican opponent most likely won't be trumpist or fascist, what do you suggest the democratic party do then given all we have discussed? |

Ibime: Whether you appreciate it or not, some people (undecideds) just don't care about politics that much, while other undecideds are very inforned but selfish and only judge politics on what's in it for them. I fall into the second category, and mostly vote on tax issues and decency of candidates rhetoric (I don't vote based on moral issues like abortion, religious views, gay rights etc, I only care about my safety as a black man). A white man in the same position could overlook Trumps racist invectives cos it doesn't affect him directly rather than vote for Sanders who he knows may hammer his taxes. so a political aspirant should then go scouting for probable(undecideds) votes before first securing his likely votes in his base(liberals) right? In what world is that a recipe for victory? That Hillary failed at that wasn't apparent enough to you |

Ibime: The liberal voters will just not sit out an election where Trump is on the ballot. They will even vote an orangutan over Trump. The reason some sat out the last election is cos they believed the polls that Hilary would win, and were treating their absence as a protest vote. Election na simple Mathematics. so you agree then that trump and not policy is the reason for the liberal vote! If that reasoning can apply to liberals and rebel republicans why can't it apply to undecideds? |
