A former Chief Security Officer of a company at Sango-Ota, in the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State, has reportedly hired some robbers to attack his former company three months after his sack. The former CSO, whose name was not disclosed was reportedly relieved of his duty about three months ago, ran away after the robbers he reportedly hired were arrested. Men of Ogun State Police Command on Monday arrested five suspected robbers after allegedly looting the company. The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi said the suspects; Umar Haruna; Abbah Yahaya; Muritala Umar; Wale Fadeyi, and Segun Olofinmade were arrested following a tip-off. Oyeyemi said the suspects were nabbed following a distress call received by policemen at Sango divisional headquarters at about 12:30 midnight. According to the PPRO, a group of armed robbers numbering about ten, armed with cutlasses had forcefully gained entrance into Balita Company and carted away motor engines that the company is selling. “Upon the distress call, the DPO Sango division, SP Saleh Dahiru, mobilised his men and moved into the area. On sighting the policemen, the hoodlums who came with a Mitsubishi Canter bus with registration number LSR 414 YF took to their heels but, they were chased and five amongst them were apprehended while others escaped. “Preliminary investigation revealed that the robbery incident was masterminded by the former Chief Security officer of the company who was relieved of his duty about three months ago. “The said former Chief security officer is presently on the run. “Recovered from them are a Mitsubishi Canter bus loaded with ten motor engines and cutlasses.” Oyeyemi however, said the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, has directed that the case be transferred to State Criminal Investigation Departments for discreet investigation. The PPRO said the CP has equally ordered a massive manhunt for the fleeing former Chief Security Officer with a view to bringing him to justice. https://punchng.com/sacked-cso-hires-robbers-to-rob-ogun-company/?amp

Idris Wase, deputy speaker of the house of representatives, says no government has touched the lives of “ordinary citizens” as that of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Wase spoke on Wednesday, when he received a delegation from the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (ABAT) support group at the national assembly, Abuja. “I want to assure you that by the grace of God, that APC will come with a very large number overwhelmingly in terms of support. We will also win majority of the seats of the national assembly — not a majority in terms of one, two, three, but an overwhelming majority because members have done so much. “No government has touched the lives of the ordinary citizens of Nigeria who have nothing to do — graduates, the old, the young — in terms of the various palliatives they have been given, like the government of APC has done. Our wish is to consolidate on these.” The deputy speaker added that the President Muhammadu Buhari administration also has “packages” it gives to the “vulnerable in the society in terms of old age”, similar to what is done in other countries.

There's no doubt our beliefs and faith made some people ignore claims of many things without bothering to make research about their authenticity, one of them is their view on Africa magic(juju). You should know denying it's existence doesn't protect you from it's harm. I have witnessed it twice, the first was when a Yeye Osun called my name, there was no way she would have knew it. The second occurred this week when some guys performed it live around Alaba area, they were holding snake without it harming them, he put the snake in his mouth at some point, everything looks unreal but it was the reality. Nollywood might exaggerate magics but that doesn't negate the fact of it's existence. Beware of ritualists, magic does exist. |

The consumer price index (CPI), which measures the rate of change in prices of goods and services, surged to 18.60 percent in June 2022, up from 17.71 percent in the previous month. This is the highest since January 2017. The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said this in its consumer price index (CPI) report for June 2022, released on Friday. The figure is also 0.84 percent points higher compared to June 2021, which is 17.75 percent. The development means that the headline inflation rate increased in June 2022 when compared to the same month in the previous year (June 2021). According to the report, increases were recorded in all classifications of individual consumption according to purpose (COICOP) divisions that yielded the headline index. “On a month-on-month basis, the headline inflation rate increased to 1.82 percent in June 2022, this is 0.03 percent higher than the rate recorded in May 2022 (1.78 percent),” the report reads. “The percentage change in the average composite CPI for the twelve months ending June 2022 over the average of the CPI for the previous twelve months period is 16.54 percent, showing a 0.62 percent increase compared to 15.93 percent recorded in June 2021.” The report added that food inflation rose to 20.60 percent in June 2022 on a year-on-year basis but the rate of changes in average price level declined by 1.23 percent when compared to 21.83 percent in June 2021. The report further explained that the rate of changes in food prices compared to the same period last year was higher due to higher food prices volatility caused by COVID 19. “This rise in the food index was caused by increases in prices of bread and cereals, food products n.e.c, Potatoes, yam, and other tubers, meat, fish, oil and fat, and wine,” it added. “On a month-on-month basis, the food sub-index increased to 2.05 percent in June 2022, up by 0.03 percent points from 2.01 percent recorded in May 2022.” https://www.thecable.ng/breaking-nigerias-inflation-rate-hits-5-year-high-at-18-60/amp
